Deuteronomy 34
1 And Moses went up from the plains of Moab unto the mount of Nebo, to the top of Pisgah, that is before Jericho; and the Lord showed him all the land [from] Gil'ad unto Dan,
Dari dataran Moab, Musa kemudian naik ke puncak Pisga di gunung Nebo, di seberang Yeriko. Dari sana, TUHAN menunjukkan kepadanya seluruh negeri itu, yaitu daerah Gilead sampai kota Dan,
2 And all Naphtali, and the land of Ephraim, and Menasseh, and all the land of Judah, unto the western sea.
seluruh wilayah yang kelak dimiliki oleh suku Naftali, Efraim dan Manasye, serta wilayah yang terbentang sampai Laut Tengah, yang nantinya dimiliki oleh suku Yehuda,
3 And the south, and the plain, the valley of Jericho, the city of palm-trees, unto Zoar.
juga padang belantara Negeb di bagian selatan wilayah Yehuda, dan lembah Yordan yang terbentang dari Yeriko, kota pohon palem itu, sampai kota Zoar.
4 And the Lord said unto him, This is the land which I swore unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, saying, Unto thy seed will I give it: I have let thee see it with thy eyes, but thither shalt thou not go over.
Kata TUHAN kepada Musa, “Inilah negeri yang sudah Aku janjikan kepada Abraham, Isak, dan Yakub dengan berkata kepada mereka, ‘Aku akan memberikan negeri itu kepada keturunanmu.’ Sekarang Aku sudah mengizinkan kamu untuk melihatnya dari jauh, tetapi kamu tidak akan masuk ke sana.”
5 And Moses the servant of the Lord died there in the land of Moab, according to the order of the Lord.
Lalu Musa, hamba TUHAN itu, meninggal di negeri Moab, seperti yang sudah dikatakan TUHAN.
6 And he buried him in the valley in the land of Moab, opposite Beth-peor; but no man knoweth of his sepulchre unto this day.
TUHAN menguburkan Musa di suatu lembah di Moab, di seberang kota Bet Peor, tetapi sampai hari penulisan kitab ini, tidak ada yang tahu letak kuburan Musa.
7 And Moses was a hundred and twenty years old when he died; his eye was not dimmed, and his natural force had not abated.
Musa berumur 120 tahun waktu dia meninggal. Saat itu tubuhnya masih kuat dan matanya tidak rabun.
8 And the children of Israel wept for Moses in the plains of Moab thirty days; and then were ended the days of weeping and mourning for Moses.
Bangsa Israel meratapi dia di dataran Moab selama 30 hari, sesuai kebiasaan mereka.
9 And Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom; for Moses had laid his hands upon him; and the children of Israel hearkened unto him, and did, as the Lord had commanded Moses.
TUHAN memberi hikmat yang luar biasa kepada Yosua karena dia sudah ditunjuk oleh Musa menjadi penggantinya. Karena itu umat Israel menaati Yosua dan melakukan semua perintah TUHAN yang sudah disampaikan oleh Musa.
10 And there arose not a prophet since then in Israel like unto Moses, whom the Lord knew face to face,
Sampai waktu penulisan kitab ini, tidak pernah ada lagi nabi yang seperti Musa di Israel, yang berulang kali berbicara langsung dengan TUHAN.
11 In respect to all the signs and the wonders, which the Lord had sent him to do in the land of Egypt to Pharaoh, and to all his servants, and to all his land,
Tidak ada nabi lain yang melakukan berbagai keajaiban besar atas perintah TUHAN seperti yang dibuat Musa terhadap raja Mesir, para pejabatnya, dan seluruh negeri itu.
12 And in respect to all that mighty hand, and in all the great terrific deeds which Moses displayed before the eyes of all Israel.
Tidak ada lagi nabi yang kepadanya diberikan kuasa hebat untuk melakukan perbuatan-perbuatan dahsyat dan mengerikan seperti yang dilakukan Musa di hadapan semua orang Israel.
