Deuteronomy 34
1 And Moses went up from the plains of Moab unto the mount of Nebo, to the top of Pisgah, that is before Jericho; and the Lord showed him all the land [from] Gil'ad unto Dan,
Moïse donc monta des plaines de Moab sur la montagne de Nébo au sommet de Phasga contre Jéricho; et le Seigneur lui montra toute la terre de Galaad jusqu’à Dan,
2 And all Naphtali, and the land of Ephraim, and Menasseh, and all the land of Judah, unto the western sea.
Tout Nephtali, la terre d’Ephraïm et de Manassé et toute la terre de Juda, jusqu’à la dernière mer;
3 And the south, and the plain, the valley of Jericho, the city of palm-trees, unto Zoar.
Et la partie australe, ainsi que l’étendue de la campagne de Jéricho ville des palmes jusqu’à Ségor.
4 And the Lord said unto him, This is the land which I swore unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, saying, Unto thy seed will I give it: I have let thee see it with thy eyes, but thither shalt thou not go over.
Et le Seigneur lui dit: Voici la terre au sujet de laquelle j’ai juré à Abraham, à Isaac et à Jacob, disant: C’est à ta postérité que je la donnerai. Tu l’as vue de tes yeux, et tu n’y passeras pas.
5 And Moses the servant of the Lord died there in the land of Moab, according to the order of the Lord.
Et Moïse, serviteur du Seigneur, mourut là dans la terre de Moab, le Seigneur l’ordonnant;
6 And he buried him in the valley in the land of Moab, opposite Beth-peor; but no man knoweth of his sepulchre unto this day.
Et il l’ensevelit dans la vallée de la terre de Moab contre Phogor; et aucun homme n’a connu son sépulcre jusqu’au présent jour.
7 And Moses was a hundred and twenty years old when he died; his eye was not dimmed, and his natural force had not abated.
Moïse avait cent et vingt ans quand il mourut; son œil ne s’obscurcit pas, et ses dents ne furent pas ébranlées.
8 And the children of Israel wept for Moses in the plains of Moab thirty days; and then were ended the days of weeping and mourning for Moses.
Les enfants d’Israël le pleurèrent dans les plaines de Moab durant trente jours: ainsi furent accomplis les jours du deuil de ceux qui pleuraient Moïse.
9 And Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom; for Moses had laid his hands upon him; and the children of Israel hearkened unto him, and did, as the Lord had commanded Moses.
Or, Josué, fils de Nun, fut rempli de l’Esprit de sagesse, parce que Moïse avait posé sur lui ses mains. Et les enfants d’Israël lui obéirent et ils firent comme avait ordonné le Seigneur à Moïse.
10 And there arose not a prophet since then in Israel like unto Moses, whom the Lord knew face to face,
Et il ne s’éleva plus de prophète en Israël comme Moïse, que le Seigneur connût face à face,
11 In respect to all the signs and the wonders, which the Lord had sent him to do in the land of Egypt to Pharaoh, and to all his servants, and to all his land,
À cause de tous les signes et de tous les prodiges qu’il l’envoya faire dans la terre d’Egypte contre Pharaon, contre ses serviteurs et contre toute sa terre,
12 And in respect to all that mighty hand, and in all the great terrific deeds which Moses displayed before the eyes of all Israel.
Et à cause de toute cette main forte, et de ces grandes merveilles que fit Moïse devant tout Israël.
