Deuteronomy 3
1 And we turned, and went up the way to Bashan; and 'Og the king of Bashan came out against us, he and all his people, to the battle at Edre'i.
Então nos viramos, e subimos o caminho para Bashan. Og o rei de Bashan saiu contra nós, ele e todo o seu povo, para lutar em Edrei.
2 And the Lord said unto me, Fear him not; for into thy hand have I given him, and all his people, and his land; and thou shalt do unto him as thou hast done unto Sichon, the king of the Emorites, who dwelt at Cheshbon.
Yahweh me disse: “Não o temam, pois eu o entreguei, com todo o seu povo e sua terra, em suas mãos”. Far-lhe-eis como fizestes a Sihon, rei dos amorreus, que viveu em Heshbon”.
3 And the Lord our God gave into our hands also 'Og the king of Bashan, and all his people; and we smote him until none was left to him who escaped.
Então Yahweh nosso Deus também entregou em nossas mãos Og, o rei de Basã, e todo o seu povo. Nós o golpeamos até que ninguém mais ficou para ele.
4 And we conquered all his cities at that time, there was not a city which we took not from them, sixty cities, all the region of Argob, the kingdom of 'Og in Bashan.
Levamos todas as suas cidades naquela época. Não havia uma cidade que não tivéssemos tomado deles: sessenta cidades, toda a região de Argob, o reino de Og em Bashan.
5 all these were fortified cities, with high walls, gates, and bars; besides the unwalled towns, which were a great many.
Todas estas eram cidades fortificadas com muros altos, portões e bares, além de um grande número de vilarejos sem muros.
6 And we devoted them, as we had done unto Sichon the king of Cheshbon, devoting every inhabited city, the women, and the little ones.
Nós as destruímos completamente, como fizemos com Sihon, rei de Heshbon, destruindo completamente todas as cidades habitadas, com as mulheres e os pequenos.
7 But all the cattle, and the spoil of the cities, we took as booty to ourselves.
Mas todo o gado, e o saque das cidades, nós tomamos por saque para nós mesmos.
8 And we took at that time out of the hand of the two kings of the Emorites the land which is on this side of the Jordan, from the river of Arnon unto mount Chermon;
Tiramos a terra naquela época da mão dos dois reis dos Amoritas que estavam além do Jordão, desde o vale do Arnon até o Monte Hermon.
9 (The Sidonians call Chermon Siryon; and the Emorites call it Senir; )
(Os Sidônios chamam de Hermon Sirion, e os Amoritas de Senir.)
10 All the cities of the plain, and all Gil'ad, and all Bashan, unto Salchah and Edrei, the cities of the kingdom of 'Og in Bashan.
Tomamos todas as cidades da planície, e toda Gilead, e todo Bashan, para Salecah e Edrei, cidades do reino de Og em Bashan.
11 For only 'Og the king of Bashan had been left of the remnant of the Rephaim; behold, his bedstead was a bedstead of iron; lo! it is in Rabbah of the children of 'Ammon: nine cubits is its length, and four cubits its breadth, after the arm of a man.
(Pois somente Og rei de Bashan permaneceu do remanescente do Rephaim. Eis que seu leito era um leito de ferro. Não é em Rabbah das crianças de Ammon? Nove côvados era seu comprimento, e quatro côvados sua largura, depois do côvado de um homem).
12 And of this land, of which we took possession at that time, from 'Aro'er, which is by the river Arnon, and half mount Gil'ad, and the cities thereof, I gave unto the Reubenites and to the Gadites.
Esta terra que tomamos em posse naquela época: de Aroer, que fica junto ao vale do Arnon, e metade da região montanhosa de Gilead com suas cidades, eu dei aos rubenitas e aos gaditas;
13 And the rest of Gil'ad, and all Bashan, the kingdom of 'Og, I gave unto the half tribe of Menasseh: all the region of Argob, with all Bashan, this is called the land of Rephaim.
e o resto de Gilead, e todo Bashan, o reino de Og, eu dei à meia tribo de Manasse - toda a região de Argob, mesmo todo Bashan. (O mesmo é chamado de terra de Rephaim.
14 Yair the son of Menasseh took all the region of Argob up to the border of the Geshurites and the Ma-'achathites; and he called them the [land of] Bashan, after his own name, the villages of Yair, unto this day.
Jair, filho de Manassés, levou toda a região de Argob, até a fronteira dos geshuritas e dos maacathitas, e os chamou, até hoje, até mesmo Bashan, segundo seu próprio nome, Havvoth Jair).
15 And unto Machir I gave Gil'ad.
Eu dei Gilead a Machir.
16 And unto the Reubenites and unto the Gadites I gave from Gil'ad even unto the brook Arnon, the land within the river and that adjoining, even unto the brook Yabbok, the border of the children of 'Ammon;
Aos Reubenitas e aos Gaditas dei desde Gilead até o vale do Arnon, o meio do vale, e sua fronteira, até o rio Jabbok, que é a fronteira das crianças de Ammon;
17 The plain also, and the Jordan, and the adjoining land, from Kinnereth even unto the sea of the plain, the Salt Sea, under the declivities of Pisgah, eastward.
o Arabah também, e o Jordão e sua fronteira, desde Chinnereth até o mar do Arabah, o Mar Salgado, sob as encostas de Pisgah a leste.
18 And I commanded you at that time, saying, The Lord your God hath given you this land to possess it: armed shall ye pass over before your brethren the children of Israel, all that are fit to bear arms.
Eu lhe ordenei naquela época, dizendo: “Yahweh seu Deus lhe deu esta terra para possuí-la”. Todos vocês, homens de valor, passarão armados diante de seus irmãos, os filhos de Israel”.
19 But your wives, and your little ones, and your cattle, (I know that ye have much cattle, ) shall abide in your cities which I have given you;
Mas suas esposas, e seus pequenos, e seu gado (eu sei que vocês têm muito gado), viverão em suas cidades que eu lhes dei,
20 Until that the Lord have given rest unto your brethren, as well as unto you, and they also have taken possession of the land which the Lord your God giveth them beyond the Jordan: then shall ye return every man unto his possession which I have given you.
até que Javé dê descanso a seus irmãos, como a vocês, e eles também possuam a terra que Javé seu Deus lhes dá além do Jordão. Então cada um de vós voltará à sua própria posse, que eu vos dei”.
21 And Joshua also I commanded at that time, saying, Thy own eyes have seen all that the Lord your God hath done unto these two kings: thus will the Lord do unto all the kingdoms whither thou passest.
Comandei Josué naquela época, dizendo: “Seus olhos viram tudo o que Yahweh seu Deus fez a estes dois reis. Assim fará Javé com todos os reinos por onde passas.
22 Ye shall not fear them; for the Lord your God it is who fighteth for you.
Não os temerás; pois Yavé, teu próprio Deus, luta por ti”.
23 And I besought the Lord at that time, saying,
Eu implorei a Javé naquela época, dizendo:
24 O Lord Eternal, thou hast begun to show thy servant thy greatness, and thy mighty hand; for what God is there in heaven or on earth, that can do aught like thy works, and like thy mighty deeds?
“Senhor Javé, começou a mostrar a seu servo sua grandeza, e sua mão forte. Pois que deus existe no céu ou na terra que pode fazer obras como a sua, e que age poderosamente como a sua?
25 Let me go over, I pray thee, that I may see the good land which is on the other side of the Jordan, this goodly mountain, and the Lebanon.
Por favor, deixe-me ir e ver a boa terra que está além do Jordão, aquela bela montanha e o Líbano”.
26 But the Lord was wroth with me for your sakes, and he would not hear me: and the Lord said unto me, Let it suffice thee; do not continue to speak unto me any more of this matter.
Mas Javé ficou bravo comigo por causa de você, e não me ouviu. Yahweh me disse: “Já chega! Não fale mais comigo sobre este assunto.
27 Get thee up unto the top of Pisgah, and lift up thy eyes, westward, and northward, and southward, and eastward, and behold it with thy eyes; for thou shalt not pass over this Jordan.
Suba até o topo de Pisgah, e levante seus olhos para o oeste, e para o norte, e para o sul, e para o leste, e veja com seus olhos; pois você não deve passar por este Jordão.
28 And do thou charge Joshua, and strengthen him, and encourage him; for he shall go over before this people, and he shall divide out to them the land which thou shalt see.
Mas encomenda Josué, e anima-o, e fortalece-o; porque ele passará diante deste povo, e ele o fará herdar a terra que vereis”.
29 And we abode in the valley opposite Beth-peor.
Assim ficamos no vale perto de Beth Peor.
