Deuteronomy 27

1 And Moses with the elders of Israel commanded the people, saying, Keep the whole commandment which I command you this day.

Kemudian bersama para pemimpin Israel, Musa menyampaikan pesan ini kepada bangsa itu, "Taatilah segala perintah yang saya berikan kepadamu hari ini.

2 And it shall be on the day when ye pass over the Jordan unto the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee, that thou shalt set up for thyself great stones, and cover them with plaster;

Pada hari kamu menyeberangi Sungai Yordan untuk masuk ke negeri yang diberikan TUHAN Allahmu kepadamu, kamu harus menegakkan beberapa batu besar lalu mengapurnya.

3 And thou shalt write upon them all the words of this law, so soon as thou art passed over; in order that thou mayest go in unto the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee, a land flowing with milk and honey; as the Lord, the God of thy fathers, hath spoken unto thee.

Tuliskanlah pada batu-batu itu setiap perkataan dari hukum-hukum ini. Apabila kamu sudah masuk ke negeri yang kaya dan subur yang dijanjikan TUHAN, Allah nenek moyangmu kepadamu,

4 And it shall be so soon as ye are gone over the Jordan, that ye shall set up these stones, which I command you this day, on mount 'Ebal; and thou shalt cover them with plaster.

dan kamu sudah ada di seberang Sungai Yordan, kamu harus pergi ke Gunung Ebal. Di situ kamu harus menegakkan dan mengapur batu-batu itu seperti yang saya perintahkan kepadamu hari ini.

5 And thou shalt build there an altar unto the Lord thy God, an altar of stones: thou shalt not lift up any iron tool upon them.

Di tempat itu harus juga kamu dirikan bagi TUHAN Allahmu sebuah mezbah dari batu-batu yang belum pernah dikerjakan dengan alat-alat besi,

6 Of whole stones shalt thou build the altar of the Lord thy God; and thou shalt offer thereupon burnt-offerings unto the Lord thy God;

sebab setiap mezbah yang didirikan untuk TUHAN Allahmu harus dibuat dari batu yang utuh. Di atas mezbah itu kamu harus mempersembahkan kurban-kurban bakaran.

7 And thou shalt slay peace-offerings, and eat [them] there; and thou shalt rejoice before the Lord thy God.

Persembahkanlah juga kurban perdamaianmu dan makanlah di situ serta bersukacitalah di hadapan TUHAN Allahmu.

8 And thou shalt write upon the statues all the words of this law, very plainly.

Di atas batu-batu yang dikapur itu harus kamu tulis dengan jelas setiap perkataan dari hukum-hukum Allah."

9 And Moses with the priests, the Levites, spoke unto all Israel, saying, Be attentive, and hearken, O Israel! this day art thou become a people unto the Lord thy God.

Kemudian bersama para imam Lewi, Musa berkata kepada seluruh bangsa Israel, "Saudara-saudara, perhatikanlah dan dengarlah! Hari ini kamu sudah menjadi umat TUHAN Allahmu.

10 Thou shalt therefore hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and do his commandments and his statutes, which I command thee this day.

Sebab itu taatilah TUHAN Allahmu dan lakukanlah semua perintah-Nya yang saya berikan kepadamu hari ini."

11 And Moses commanded the people on the same day, saying,

Lalu Musa berkata kepada bangsa Israel,

12 These shall stand upon mount Gerizzim to bless the people, when ye are come over the Jordan: Simeon, and Levi, and Judah, and Issachar, and Joseph, and Benjamin.

"Sesudah kamu menyeberangi Sungai Yordan, suku Simeon, Lewi, Yehuda, Isakhar, Yusuf dan Benyamin harus berdiri di atas Gunung Gerizim pada waktu diucapkan berkat atas bangsa ini.

13 And these shall stand for the sake of the curse upon mount 'Ebal: Reuben, Gad, and Asher, and Zebulun, Dan, and Naphtali.

Pada waktu diucapkan kutuk, suku Ruben, Gad, Asyer, Zebulon, Dan serta Naftali harus berdiri di atas Gunung Ebal.

14 And the Levites shall commence, and say unto all the men of Israel with a loud voice,

Orang-orang Lewi harus mengucapkan kata-kata berikut ini dengan suara nyaring dan orang Israel harus menjawab, 'Amin'.

15 Cursed be the man who maketh a graven or molten image, the abomination of the Lord, the work of the hands of the craftsman, and putteth it in a secret place; and all the people shall answer, and say, Amen.

Orang-orang Lewi: 'Terkutuklah orang yang membuat patung dari batu, kayu atau logam, dan menyembahnya dengan sembunyi-sembunyi; TUHAN membenci pemujaan berhala!' Seluruh rakyat: 'Amin!'

16 Cursed be he that holdeth in light esteem his father or his mother; and all the people shall say, Amen.

'Terkutuklah orang yang tidak menghormati orang tuanya dan membiarkan mereka terlantar.' 'Amin!'

17 Cursed be he that removeth the landmark of his neighbor; and all the people shall say, Amen.

'Terkutuklah orang yang menggeser batas tanah tetangganya.' 'Amin!'

18 Cursed be he that causeth the blind to wander out of the way; and all the people shall say, Amen.

'Terkutuklah orang yang menyesatkan orang buta.' 'Amin!'

19 Cursed be he that perverteth the cause of the stranger, of the fatherless, and of the widow; and all the people shall say, Amen.

'Terkutuklah orang yang merampas hak orang asing, anak yatim piatu dan janda.' 'Amin!'

20 Cursed be he that lieth with his father's wife; because he uncovereth his father's skirt; and all the people shall say, Amen.

'Terkutuklah orang yang menghina ayahnya karena bersetubuh dengan salah seorang istri ayahnya.' 'Amin!'

21 Cursed be he that lieth with any manner of beast; and all the people shall say, Amen.

'Terkutuklah orang yang bersetubuh dengan binatang.' 'Amin!'

22 Cursed be he that lieth with his sister, the daughter of his father, or the daughter of his mother; and all the people shall say, Amen.

'Terkutuklah orang yang bersetubuh dengan saudaranya perempuan yang sekandung, atau saudaranya seayah atau seibu.' 'Amin!'

23 Cursed be he that lieth with his mother-in-law; and all the people shall say, Amen.

'Terkutuklah orang yang bersetubuh dengan ibu mertuanya.' 'Amin!'

24 Cursed be he that smiteth his neighbor secretly; and all the people shall say, Amen.

'Terkutuklah orang yang melakukan pembunuhan dengan sembunyi-sembunyi.' 'Amin!'

25 Cursed be he that taketh a bribe to slay a person, an innocent blood; and all the people shall say, Amen.

'Terkutuklah orang yang menerima suap untuk membunuh orang yang tidak bersalah.' 'Amin!'

26 Cursed be he that executeth not the words of this law to do them; and all the people shall say, Amen.

'Terkutuklah orang yang tidak menepati hukum dan ajaran Allah dengan perbuatan.' 'Amin!'"
