Deuteronomy 19
1 When the Lord thy God shall have cut off the nations, whose land the Lord thy God giveth thee, and thou hast driven them out, and dwellest in their cities, and in their houses:
௧“உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா உனக்குக் கொடுக்கும் தேசத்தின் மக்களை அவர் வேரற்றுப்போகச்செய்வதினால், நீ அவர்கள் தேசத்தைச் சொந்தமாக்கிக்கொண்டு, அவர்கள் பட்டணங்களிலும் அவர்கள் வீடுகளிலும் குடியேறும்போது,
2 Then shalt thou set apart three cities for thyself, in the midst of thy land, which the Lord thy God giveth thee to possess it.
௨நீ உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா உனக்குச் சொந்தமாகக் கொடுக்கும் உன் தேசத்தின் நடுவிலே, உனக்காக மூன்று பட்டணங்களைப் பிரித்துவைக்கக்கடவாய்.
3 Thou shalt put in order for thyself the [way to them], and divide into three parts the territory of thy land, which the Lord thy God will give thee to inherit, and it shall serve, that every man-slayer may flee thither.
௩கொலைசெய்தவன் எவனும் அங்கே ஓடிப்போகும்படி உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா உனக்குச் சொந்தமாகக் கொடுக்கப்போகிற உன் தேசத்தின் எல்லையை நீ மூன்று பங்காகப் பகுத்து அதற்கு வழியை உண்டாக்குவாய்.
4 And this is the case of the man-slayer, who shall flee thither, that he may live: Whoso smiteth his neighbor without knowledge, when he hath not been an enemy to him in time past;
௪கொலைசெய்து அங்கே ஓடிப்போய், உயிரோடிருக்கத்தக்கவன் யாரென்றால்: தான் முன்னே பகைத்திராத பிறனொருவனை மனதறியாமல் கொன்றவன்தானே.
5 And he that goeth into the forest with his neighbor to hew wood, and his hand fetcheth a stroke with the axe to cut down the tree, and the iron slippeth from the helve, and striketh his neighbor, that he die: this one shall flee unto one of these cities, and live;
௫ஒருவன் விறகுவெட்ட மற்றொருவனுடன் காட்டிற்குப்போய், மரத்தை வெட்டத் தன் கையிலிருந்த கோடரியை ஓங்கும்போது, இரும்பானது காம்பைவிட்டுக் கழன்று மற்றவன்மேல் பட்டதினால் அவன் இறந்துபோனால்,
6 That the avenger of the blood pursue not the manslayer, while his heart is hot, and overtake him, because the way is long, and smite him dead; whereas he deserveth not a judgment of death, inasmuch as he was not an enemy to him in time past.
௬இரத்தப்பழிக்காரன் தன் மனம் எரியும்போது கொலைசெய்தவனை வழி தூரமாயிருக்கிறதினாலே பின்தொடர்ந்து பிடித்து, அவனைக் கொன்றுபோடாதபடி, இவன் அந்தப் பட்டணங்கள் ஒன்றில் ஓடிப்போய் உயிரோடிருப்பானாக; இவன் அவனை முன்னே பகைக்காததினால், இவன்மேல் சாவுக்கான குற்றம் சுமரவில்லை.
7 Therefore do I command thee, saying, Three cities shalt thou set apart for thyself.
௭இதினிமித்தம் மூன்று பட்டணங்களை உனக்காகப் பிரித்துவைக்கக்கடவாய் என்று நான் உனக்குக் கட்டளையிடுகிறேன்.
8 And if the Lord thy God enlarge thy boundary, as he hath sworn unto thy fathers, and give thee all the land which he hath spoken to give unto thy fathers;
௮“நீ உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவிடத்தில் அன்புசெலுத்தி, எந்நாளும் அவர் வழிகளில் நடப்பதற்காக, இன்று நான் உனக்குக் கற்பிக்கிற இந்த எல்லாக் கற்பனைகளையும் கைக்கொண்டு அதின்படி செய்து,
9 Because thou dost keep all this commandment to do it, which I command thee this day, to love the Lord thy God, and to walk in his ways all the days: then shalt thou add for thyself three cities more, unto these three;
௯உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா உன் முற்பிதாக்களுக்கு வாக்களித்தபடியே, அவர் உன் எல்லையை விஸ்தாரமாக்கி, உன் முற்பிதாக்களுக்குக் கொடுப்பேன் என்று சொன்ன தேசம் முழுவதையும் உனக்குக் கொடுத்தால்,
10 That innocent blood be not shed in the midst of thy land, which the Lord thy God giveth thee for an inheritance, and blood-guiltiness be brought upon thee.
௧0அப்பொழுது உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா உனக்குச் சொந்தமாகக் கொடுக்கும் உன் தேசத்தில் குற்றமில்லாத இரத்தம் சிந்தப்படுகிறதினால் உன்மேல் இரத்தப்பழி சுமராதபடி, இந்த மூன்று பட்டணங்களும் அல்லாமல் இன்னும் மூன்று பட்டணங்களை ஏற்படுத்தக்கடவாய்.
11 But if any man be an enemy to his neighbor, and he lie in wait for him, and rise up against him, and smite him mortally so that he die, and he flee unto one of these cities:
௧௧“ஒருவன் பிறனொருவனைப் பகைத்து, அவனுக்கு மறைந்திருந்து, அவனுக்கு விரோதமாக எழும்பி, அவன் சாகும்படி அவனை அடித்து, இந்தப் பட்டணங்களில் ஒன்றில் ஓடிப்போயிருப்பானாகில்,
12 Then shall the elders of his city send and fetch him thence, and they shall deliver him into the hand of the avenger of the blood, that he may die.
௧௨அந்தப் பட்டணத்தின் மூப்பர்கள் ஆள் அனுப்பி, அங்கேயிருந்து அவனைக் கொண்டுவரும்படி செய்து, அவன் சாகும்படி அவனை இரத்தப்பழி வாங்குகிறவன் கையில் ஒப்புக்கொடுக்கக்கடவர்கள்.
13 Thy eye shall not look with pity on him; but thou shalt put away the [shedding of] innocent blood from Israel, that it may go well with thee.
௧௩உன் கண் அவனுக்கு இரங்கவேண்டாம்; குற்றமில்லாத இரத்தப்பழியை இஸ்ரவேலை விட்டு விலக்குவாயாக; அப்பொழுது நீ நன்றாயிருப்பாய்.
14 Thou shalt not remove the landmark of thy neighbor, which they of old time have set, in thy inheritance which thou shalt inherit, in the land that the Lord thy God giveth thee to possess it.
௧௪“உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா உனக்குச் சொந்தமாகக் கொடுக்கும் தேசத்தில் உன்னிடத்திலிருக்கும் காணியாட்சியிலே முன்னோர்கள் குறித்திருக்கிற பிறனுடைய எல்லையை எடுத்துப்போடாதே.
15 There shall not rise up one single witness against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin, in any sin that he sinneth: upon the evidence of two witnesses, or upon the evidence of three witnesses, must a case be established.
௧௫“ஒருவன் எந்த அக்கிரமத்தையாவது எந்தப் பாவத்தையாவது செய்தான் என்று சொல்லப்பட்டால், ஒரே சாட்சியினால் நியாயந்தீர்க்கக்கூடாது; இரண்டு மூன்று சாட்சிகளுடைய வாக்கினாலே காரியம் நிரூபிக்கப்படவேண்டும்.
16 If a witness of violence rise up against any man to testify against him for any wrong:
௧௬ஒருவன்மேல் ஒரு குற்றத்தைச் சுமத்தும்படி, ஒரு பொய்ச்சாட்சிக்காரன் அவன்மேல் சாட்சி சொல்ல எழும்பினால்,
17 Then shall both the men, who have the controversy, stand before the Lord, before the priests and the judges, who shall be in those days;
௧௭வழக்காடுகிற இருவரும் யெகோவாவுடைய சந்நிதியில் அக்காலத்தில் இருக்கும் ஆசாரியர்களுக்கும் நியாயாதிபதிகளுக்கும் முன்பாக வந்து நிற்பார்களாக.
18 And the judges shall inquire diligently; and, behold, if the witness be a false witness, he hath testified a falsehood against his brother:
௧௮அப்பொழுது நியாயாதிபதிகள் நன்றாக விசாரணை செய்யக்கடவர்கள்; சாட்சி கள்ளச்சாட்சி என்றும், தன் சகோதரன்மேல் அபாண்டமாகக் குற்றம்சுமத்தினான் என்றும் கண்டால்,
19 Then shall ye do unto him, as he had purposed to do unto his brother; and thou shalt put away the evil from the midst of thee.
௧௯அவன் தன் சகோதரனுக்குச் செய்ய நினைத்தபடியே அவனுக்குச் செய்யக்கடவீர்கள்; இவ்விதமாகத் தீமையை உன் நடுவிலிருந்து விலக்குவாயாக.
20 And those who remain shall hear, and be afraid, and shall henceforth commit no more any such evil thing in the midst of thee.
௨0மற்றவர்களும் அதைக் கேட்டுப் பயந்து, இனி உங்களுக்குள்ளே அப்படிப்பட்ட தீமையைச் செய்யாதிருப்பார்கள்.
21 And thy eye shall have no pity; but life [shall go] for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.
௨௧உன் கண் அவனுக்கு இரங்கவேண்டாம்; ஜீவனுக்கு ஜீவன், கண்ணுக்குக் கண், பல்லுக்குப் பல், கைக்குக் கை, காலுக்குக் கால் கொடுக்கப்படவேண்டும்.
