Deuteronomy 12
1 These are the statutes and ordinances, which ye shall observe to do, in the land which the Lord, the God of thy fathers, giveth unto thee to possess it, and all the days that ye live upon the earth.
૧તમારા પિતૃઓના ઈશ્વર યહોવાહે તમને જે દેશ વતન તરીકે આપ્યો છે, તેમાં તમારે નિયમો તથા કાનૂનો પૃથ્વી પરના તમારા બધા દિવસો પર્યંત પાળવા તે આ છે.
2 Ye shall utterly destroy all the places whereon the nations which ye are about to drive out served their gods, upon the high mountains, and upon the hills, and under every green tree;
૨જે જે પ્રજાઓનો તમે કબજો કરશો તેઓ જે ઊંચા પર્વતો પર, ડુંગરો પર તથા દરેક લીલાં વૃક્ષોની નીચે જે બધી જગ્યાઓમાં તેઓનાં દેવોની પૂજા કરતા હતા તે સર્વનો તમારે નિશ્ચે નાશ કરવો.
3 And ye shall overthrow their altars, and break their statues, and their groves shall ye burn with fire; and the graven images of their gods shall ye hew down; and ye shall destroy their name out of the same place.
૩તમારે તેઓની વેદીઓ તોડી નાખવી, તેઓના સ્તંભોને ભાંગીને ટુકડા કરી નાખવા, અશેરીમ મૂર્તિઓને બાળી નાખવી અને તેઓના દેવોની કોતરેલી મૂર્તિઓ કાપી નાખીને તે જગ્યાએથી તેઓના નામનો નાશ કરવો.
4 Ye shall not do so unto the Lord your God;
૪તમારે યહોવાહ તમારા ઈશ્વરની આરાધના તે પ્રમાણે ન કરવી.
5 But unto the place which the Lord your God may choose out of all your tribes to put his name there, even unto his habitation shall ye repair, and thither shalt thou come;
૫પણ યહોવાહ તમારા ઈશ્વર તમારા સર્વ કુળમાંથી જે સ્થળ પસંદ કરશે તે સ્થળ આગળ એટલે જ્યાં તે રહે છે ત્યાં તમારે ભેગા થવું, ત્યાં તમારે આવવું.
6 And ye shall bring thither your burnt-offerings, and your sacrifices, and your tithes, and the heave-offering of your hand, and your vows, and your freewill-offerings, and the first-born of your herds and of your flocks;
૬ત્યાં તમારે તમારાં બધાં દહનીયાર્પણો, તમારાં બલિદાનો, તમારાં દશાંશો, તમારા હાથનાં ઉચ્છાલીયાર્પણો, તમારી માનતાઓ, તમારાં ઐચ્છિકાર્પણ તથા તમારાં ઘેટાં બકરાનાં તથા અન્ય જાનવરોનાં પ્રથમજનિતને લાવવાં.
7 And ye shall eat there before the Lord your God, and ye shall rejoice with all the acquisition of your hand, ye and your households, wherewith the Lord thy God may have blessed thee.
૭ત્યાં તમારે યહોવાહ તમારા ઈશ્વરની આગળ જમવું અને તમારા હાથની સર્વ બાબતોમાં યહોવાહ તારા ઈશ્વરે તમને આશીર્વાદ આપ્યો છે તેમાં તમારે તથા તમારા કુટુંબોએ આનંદ કરવો.
8 Ye shall not do after all the manner that we do here this day, every one whatsoever is right in his own eyes.
૮આજે આપણે જે બધું અહીં કરીએ છીએ, એટલે દરેક માણસ પોતાની દ્રષ્ટિમાં જે સારું લાગે છે તે કરે છે તે પ્રમાણે તમારે કરવું નહિ;
9 For ye are not as yet come to the rest and to the inheritance, which the Lord thy God giveth thee.
૯કેમ કે, યહોવાહ તમારા ઈશ્વર જે આરામ તથા વારસો આપવાના છે તેમાં હજુ સુધી તમે ગયા નથી.
10 But ye will go over the Jordan, and dwell in the land which the Lord your God causeth you to inherit, and he will give you rest from all your enemies round about, so that ye may dwell in safety.
૧૦તમે યર્દન નદી પાર કરીને યહોવાહ તમારા ઈશ્વર તમને જે દેશ વારસા તરીકે આપવાના છે તેમાં જ્યારે તમે રહેશો, ત્યારે યહોવાહ તમને ચારે બાજુના દુશ્મનોથી આરામ આપશે કે જેથી તમે બધા સુરક્ષિત રહો.
11 And then shall it be, that the place which the Lord your God will choose to cause his name to dwell there, —[even] thither shall ye bring all that I command you: your burnt-offerings, and your sacrifices, your tithes, and the heave-offering of your hand, and all your choice vows which ye may vow unto the Lord;
૧૧ત્યારે એવું બને કે યહોવાહ તમારા ઈશ્વર પોતાનું નામ રાખવા માટે જે જગ્યા પસંદ કરે ત્યાં, હું તમને ફરમાવું તે બધું તમારે લાવવું: તમારાં દહનીયાર્પણ, તમારાં બલિદાનો, તમારાં દશાંશો, તમારા હાથનાં ઉચ્છાલીયાર્પણો, જે બધી શ્રેષ્ઠ માનતાઓ તમે યહોવાહ પ્રત્યે માનો તે તમારે લાવવાં.
12 And ye shall rejoice before the Lord your God, ye, and your sons, and your daughters, and your men-servants, and your maid-servants, and the Levite who is within your gates; because he hath not any portion nor inheritance with you.
૧૨તમે, તમારા દીકરાઓ, તમારી દીકરીઓ, તમારા દાસો, તમારી દાસીઓ તથા લેવીઓ કે જેને તમારી મધ્યે કોઈ હિસ્સો કે વારસો નથી જેઓ તમારા દરવાજાની અંદર રહેતા હોય તેઓએ યહોવાહ તમારા ઈશ્વરની આગળ આનંદ કરવો.
13 Take heed to thyself that thou offer not thy burnt-offerings in every place which thou mayest see;
૧૩સાવધ રહેજો, જે દરેક જગ્યા તમે જુઓ ત્યાં તમારે તમારા દહનીયાર્પણ ચઢાવવાં નહિ;
14 But in the place which the Lord will choose in one of thy tribes, there shalt thou offer thy burnt-offerings, and there shalt thou do all that I command thee.
૧૪પણ જે જગ્યા યહોવાહ તમારા ઈશ્વર તમારા કુળો મધ્યેથી એકને પસંદ કરે ત્યાં તારે તારા દહનીયાર્પણો ચઢાવવાં.
15 Notwithstanding, according to all the longing of thy soul, mayest thou kill and eat flesh, according to the blessing of the Lord thy God which he hath given thee, in all thy gates: the unclean and the clean may eat thereof, as of the roebuck, and as of the hart.
૧૫તોપણ તમારી ઇચ્છા પ્રમાણે તમે તમારા દરવાજાના પ્રાણીઓને મારીને ખાજો, કેમ કે યહોવાહ તમારા ઈશ્વરે તમને જે બધું આપ્યું છે તેનો આશીર્વાદ તમે પ્રાપ્ત કરો. શુદ્ધ તથા અશુદ્ધ જન તે ખાય, જેમ હરણનું અને જેમ સાબરનું માંસ ખવાય છે તેમ ખાજો.
16 Only the blood shall ye not eat: upon the earth shall ye pour it out as water.
૧૬પણ લોહી તમારે ખાવું નહિ એ તમારે પાણીની જેમ જમીન પર રેડી દેવું.
17 Thou mayest not eat within thy gates the tithe of thy corn, or of thy wine, or of thy oil, nor the first-born of thy herds or of thy flocks, nor any of thy vows which thou mayest vow, nor thy freewill-offerings, and the heave-offering of thy hand;
૧૭તમારા અનાજનો, દ્રાક્ષારસનો કે તેલનો દશમો ભાગ, અથવા તમારાં ઘેટાંબકરાંનાં અને અન્ય જાનવરોનાં પ્રથમજનિત અથવા તમારી લીધેલી કોઈ પણ માનતા અથવા તમારા ઐચ્છિકાર્પણ તથા તમારા હાથનાં ઉચ્છાલીયાર્પણ એ સર્વ તમારા રહેઠાણોમાં ખાવાની તમને રજા નથી.
18 But before the Lord thy God must thou eat them in the place which the Lord thy God may choose, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, and thy man-servant, and thy maid-servant, and the Levite who is within thy gates; and thou shalt rejoice before the Lord thy God with all the acquisition of thy hand.
૧૮પણ તમારે અને તમારા દીકરાએ અને તમારી દીકરીએ, તમારા દાસે અને તમારી દાસીએ તમારા ઘરમાં રહેનાર તમારા લેવીએ યહોવાહ તમારા ઈશ્વર જે સ્થળ પસંદ કરે તેમાં તમારા યહોવાહની સમક્ષ તે ખાવાં; અને જે સર્વને તમે તમારો હાથ લગાડો છો તેમાં યહોવાહ તમારા ઈશ્વરની સમક્ષ આનંદ કરવો.
19 Take heed to thyself that thou forsake not the Levite as long as thou livest upon thy land.
૧૯પોતાના વિષે સાંભળો કે જ્યાં સુધી તમે આ ભૂમિ પર વસો ત્યાં સુધી લેવીઓનો ત્યાગ તમારે કરવો નહિ.
20 When the Lord thy God will enlarge thy border, as he hath spoken unto thee, and thou dost say, I wish to eat flesh, because thy soul longeth to eat flesh: then mayest thou, according to all the longing of thy soul, eat flesh.
૨૦જયારે યહોવાહ તમારા ઈશ્વર પોતાના આપેલા વચન મુજબ તમારો વિસ્તાર વધારે ત્યારે તમને જો માંસ ખાવાની ઇચ્છા થાય તો ખાવું કેમ કે મન માનતાં સુધી ખાવાની તમને છૂટ છે.
21 If the place which the Lord thy God may choose to put his name there be too far for thee: then mayest thou kill of thy herds and of thy flocks, which the Lord hath given thee, as I have commanded thee; and thou shalt eat in thy gates according to all the longing of thy soul.
૨૧તમારા ઈશ્વર યહોવાહે પોતાના નામ માટે પસંદ કરેલું સ્થળ જો બહુ દૂર હોય તો જેમ યહોવાહે તમને આજ્ઞા આપી છે તેમ, તમારાં ઘેટાંબકરાં તથા અન્ય જાનવર કે જે યહોવાહે તમને આપ્યાં છે તે કાપવાં અને તમારી ઇચ્છા થાય ત્યાં સુધી તમારે ઘરે ખાવાં.
22 But as the roebuck and the hart are eaten, so shalt thou eat the same: the unclean and the clean may eat thereof together.
૨૨હરણ કે સાબરનું માંસ ખવાય છે તેમ તમારે તે ખાવું; માણસ શુદ્ધ કે અશુદ્ધ સ્થિતિ હોય તો પણ તે ખાઈ શકે છે.
23 Only be firm so as not to eat the blood; for the blood is the life; and thou shalt not eat the life with the flesh.
૨૩પરંતુ એટલું સંભાળજો કે લોહી તમારા ખાવામાં ન આવે, કારણ કે, રક્તમાં જ જીવ છે અને માંસ સાથે તેનો જીવ તમારે ખાવો નહિ.
24 Thou shalt not eat it: upon the earth shalt thou pour it out like water.
૨૪તમારે લોહી ખાવું નહિ, પણ જળની જેમ જમીન પર ઢોળી દેવું.
25 Thou shalt not eat it; in order that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee, when thou wilt do what is right in the eyes of the Lord.
૨૫તમારે તે ખાવું નહિ; એ માટે કે યહોવાહ તમારા ઈશ્વરની દૃષ્ટિમાં જે યથાર્થ છે તે કર્યાથી તમારું તથા તમારી પાછળ તમારા સંતાનોનું ભલું થાય.
26 Nevertheless thy holy things which thou mayest have, and thy vows, shalt thou take, and go unto the place which the Lord may choose:
૨૬તમારી પાસેની અર્પિત વસ્તુઓ તથા તમારી માનતાઓ તે તમારે યહોવાહે પસંદ કરેલા સ્થાનમાં લઈ જવાં.
27 And thou shalt offer thy burnt-offerings, the flesh and the blood, upon the altar of the Lord thy God; and the blood of thy sacrifices shall be poured out upon the altar of the Lord thy God, and the flesh shalt thou eat.
૨૭અને યહોવાહ તમારા ઈશ્વરની વેદી પર તમારે તમારાં દહનીયાર્પણ એટલે માંસ તથા લોહી ચઢાવવાં; પણ તમારા યજ્ઞોનું લોહી તમારે યહોવાહ તમારા ઈશ્વરની વેદી પર રેડી દેવું.
28 Observe and hear all these words which I command thee; in order that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee for ever, when thou wilt do what is good and right in the eyes of the Lord thy God.
૨૮જે સર્વ આજ્ઞાઓ હું તમને ફરમાવું છું તે ધ્યાન આપીને સાંભળો એ માટે કે યહોવાહ તમારા ઈશ્વરની દૃષ્ટિમાં જે સારું અને યથાર્થ કર્યાથી તમારું અને તમારાં સંતાનોનું સદા ભલું થાય.
29 When the Lord thy God will cut off the nations, whither thou goest to drive them out from before thee, and thou succeedest them, and dwellest in their land:
૨૯જે દેશજાતિઓનું વતન પ્રાપ્ત કરવા તમે જાઓ છો તેઓનો જયારે યહોવાહ તમારા ઈશ્વર તમારી આગળથી નાશ કરે અને તમે તેઓનું વતન પામી તેમના દેશમાં રહો,
30 Then take heed to thyself that thou be not snared by following them, after they have been destroyed from before thee; and that thou inquire not after their gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise.
૩૦ત્યારે સાવધ રહેજો, રખેને તેઓનો તમારી આગળથી નાશ થયા પછી તમે તેઓનું અનુકરણ કરીને ફસાઈ જાઓ. અને તમે તેઓના દેવદેવીઓની પૂછપરછ કરતાં એવું કહો કે “આ લોકો કેવી રીતે પોતાના દેવદેવીઓની પૂજા કરે છે.”
31 Thou shalt not do so unto the Lord thy God; for every abomination to the Lord, which he hateth, have they done unto their gods; for even their sons and their daughters have they burnt in the fire to their gods.
૩૧યહોવાહ તમારા ઈશ્વર વિષે એવું કરશો નહિ; કેમ કે જે સર્વ અમંગળ કાર્યો યહોવાહની દૃષ્ટિએ ધિક્કારજનક છે. તે તેઓએ પોતાના દેવદેવીઓની સમક્ષ કર્યા છે. કેમ કે પોતાના દીકરા દીકરીઓને પણ તેઓ તેઓનાં દેવદેવીઓની આગળ આગમાં બાળી નાખે છે.
32 What thing soever I command you, even that shall ye observe to do: thou shalt not add thereto, and thou shalt not diminish therefrom.
૩૨મેં તમને જે આજ્ઞાઓ આપી છે તે તમારે કાળજી રાખીને પાળવી. તમારે તેમાં કંઈ વધારો કે ઘટાડો કરવો નહિ.
