Daniel 9
1 In the first year of Darius the son of Achashverosh, of the seed of the Medes, who was made king over the kingdom of the Chaldeans,
Εν τω πρώτω έτει του Δαρείου, του υιού του Ασσουήρου, εκ του σπέρματος των Μήδων, όστις εβασίλευσεν επί το βασίλειον των Χαλδαίων,
2 In the first year of his reign, I Daniel searched in the books for understanding concerning the number of the years whereof the word of the Lord had come to Jeremiah the prophet, that he would let pass full seventy years over the ruins of Jerusalem.
εν τω πρώτω έτει της βασιλείας αυτού, εγώ ο Δανιήλ ενόησα εν τοις βιβλίοις τον αριθμόν των ετών, περί των οποίων ο λόγος του Κυρίου έγεινε προς Ιερεμίαν τον προφήτην, ότι ήθελον συμπληρωθή εβδομήκοντα έτη εις τας ερημώσεις της Ιερουσαλήμ.
3 And I directed my face unto the Lord God, to ask by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and in sackcloth, and ashes.
Και έστρεψα το πρόσωπόν μου προς Κύριον τον Θεόν, διά να κάμω προσευχήν και δεήσεις εν νηστεία και σάκκω και σποδώ·
4 And I prayed unto the Lord my God, and made my confession, and said, O Lord, the great and terrible God, who keepeth the covenant and kindness to those that love him, and to those that keep his commandments:
και εδεήθην προς Κύριον τον Θεόν μου και εξωμολογήθην και είπον, Ω Κύριε, ο μέγας και φοβερός Θεός, ο φυλάττων την διαθήκην και το έλεος προς τους αγαπώντας αυτόν και τηρούντας τας εντολάς αυτού·
5 We have sinned, and have committed iniquity, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, and have departed from thy commandments and from thy ordinances;
ημαρτήσαμεν και ηνομήσαμεν και ησεβήσαμεν και απεστατήσαμεν και εξεκλίναμεν από των εντολών σου και από των κρίσεών σου.
6 Nor have we hearkened unto thy servants the prophets, who spoke in thy name to our kings, our princes, and our fathers, and to all the people of the land.
Και δεν υπηκούσαμεν εις τους δούλους σου τους προφήτας, οίτινες ελάλουν εν τω ονόματί σου προς τους βασιλείς ημών, τους άρχοντας ημών και τους πατέρας ημών, και προς πάντα τον λαόν της γης.
7 Thine, O Lord, is the righteousness, but unto us belongeth the shame of face, as it is this day, —to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and unto all Israel, those that are near, and those that are far off, through all the countries whither thou hast driven them, because of their trespass which they have trespassed against thee.
Εις σε, Κύριε, είναι η δικαιοσύνη, εις ημάς δε η αισχύνη του προσώπου, ως εν τη ημέρα ταύτη, εις τους άνδρας του Ιούδα και εις τους κατοίκους της Ιερουσαλήμ και εις πάντα τον Ισραήλ, τους εγγύς και τους μακράν, κατά πάντας τους τόπους όπου εδίωξας αυτούς, διά την παράβασιν αυτών, την οποίαν παρέβησαν εις σε.
8 O Lord, to us belongeth the shame of face, to our kings, to our princes, and to our fathers; because we have sinned against thee.
Κύριε, εις ημάς είναι η αισχύνη του προσώπου, εις τους βασιλείς ημών, τους άρχοντας ημών και εις τους πατέρας ημών, οίτινες ημαρτήσαμεν εις σε.
9 To the Lord our God belong mercies and pardonings; for we have rebelled against him;
Εις Κύριον τον Θεόν ημών είναι οι οικτιρμοί και αι αφέσεις· διότι απεστατήσαμεν απ' αυτού,
10 And we have not obeyed the voice of the Lord our God, to walk in his laws, which he set before us through means of his servants the prophets.
και δεν υπηκούσαμεν εις την φωνήν Κυρίου του Θεού ημών, να περιπατώμεν εν τοις νόμοις αυτού, τους οποίους έθεσεν ενώπιον ημών διά των δούλων αυτού των προφητών.
11 Yea, all Israel have transgressed thy law, and have departed so as not to obey thy voice: therefore was poured out over us the curse, with the oath that is written in the law of Moses the servant of God; because we had sinned against him.
Και πας ο Ισραήλ παρέβη τον νόμον σου και εξέκλινε διά να μη υπακούη εις την φωνήν σου· διά τούτο εξεχύθη εφ' ημάς η κατάρα και ο όρκος ο γεγραμμένος εν τω νόμω του Μωϋσέως, δούλου του Θεού· διότι ημαρτήσαμεν εις αυτόν.
12 And he hath accomplished his words, which he had spoken concerning us, and concerning our judges that judged us, by bringing upon us a great evil, which was never done under the whole heaven as it hath been done in Jerusalem.
Και εβεβαίωσε τους λόγους αυτού, τους οποίους ελάλησεν εναντίον ημών και εναντίον των κριτών ημών, οίτινες μας έκρινον, φέρων εφ' ημάς κακόν μέγα· διότι δεν έγεινεν υποκάτω παντός του ουρανού, ως έγεινεν εν Ιερουσαλήμ.
13 As it is written in the law of Moses; all this evil came over us: yet offered we not any entreaty before the Lord our God, to return from our iniquities, and to become intelligent in thy truth.
Ως είναι γεγραμμένον εν τω νόμω Μωϋσέως, άπαν το κακόν τούτο ήλθεν εφ' ημάς· πλην δεν εδεήθημεν ενώπιον Κυρίου του Θεού ημών, διά να επιστρέψωμεν από των ανομιών ημών και να προσέξωμεν εις την αλήθειάν σου·
14 Therefore did the Lord watch over the evil, and he brought it upon us; for the Lord our God is righteous because of all his deeds which he hath done; but we have not obeyed his voice.
διά τούτο ο Κύριος εγρηγόρησεν επί το κακόν και έφερεν αυτό εφ' ημάς· διότι δίκαιος είναι Κύριος ο Θεός ημών εν πάσι τοις έργοις αυτού, όσα πράττει· επειδή ημείς δεν υπηκούσαμεν εις την φωνήν αυτού.
15 And now, O Lord our God, who hast brought forth thy people out of the land of Egypt with a strong hand, and hast made thyself a [great] name, as it is this day: we have sinned, we have done wickedly.
Και τώρα, Κύριε ο Θεός ημών, όστις εξήγαγες τον λαόν σου εκ γης Αιγύπτου εν χειρί κραταιά και έκαμες εις σεαυτόν όνομα, ως εν τη ημέρα ταύτη, ημαρτήσαμεν, ησεβήσαμεν.
16 O Lord, according to all thy righteousness, I beseech thee, let thy anger and thy fury be turned away from thy city Jerusalem, thy holy mountain; because through our sins, and through the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and thy people are become a reproach to all who are round about us.
Κύριε, κατά πάσας τας δικαιοσύνας σου ας αποστραφή, δέομαι, ο θυμός σου και η οργή σου από της πόλεώς σου Ιερουσαλήμ, του όρους του αγίου σου· διότι διά τας αμαρτίας ημών και διά τας ανομίας των πατέρων ημών η Ιερουσαλήμ και ο λαός σου κατεστάθημεν όνειδος εις πάντας τους πέριξ ημών.
17 And now listen, O our God, to the prayer of thy servant, and to his supplications, and cause thy face to shine upon thy sanctuary which is desolate, for the sake of the Lord.
Τώρα λοιπόν εισάκουσον, Θεέ ημών, την προσευχήν του δούλου σου και τας δεήσεις αυτού, και επίλαμψον το πρόσωπόν σου, ένεκεν του Κυρίου, επί το ηρημωμένον αγιαστήριόν σου.
18 Incline, O my God, thy ear, and hear; open thy eyes, and look on our desolations, and the city whereupon thy name is called: for not [relying] on our acts of righteousness do we present humbly our supplications before thee, but [relying] on thy great mercies.
Κλίνον, Θεέ μου, το ωτίον σου και άκουσον· άνοιξον τους οφθαλμούς σου και ιδέ τας ερημώσεις ημών και την πόλιν, επί την οποίαν εκλήθη το όνομά σου· διότι ημείς δεν προσφέρομεν τας ικεσίας ημών ενώπιόν σου διά τας δικαιοσύνας ημών, αλλά διά τους πολλούς οικτιρμούς σου.
19 O Lord, hear; O Lord, forgive; O Lord, hearken and do it; delay it not; for thy own sake, O my God; for thy name is called upon thy city and upon thy people.
Κύριε, εισάκουσον· Κύριε, συγχώρησον· Κύριε, ακροάσθητι και κάμε· μη χρονίσης, ένεκέν σου, Θεέ μου· διότι το όνομά σου εκλήθη επί την πόλιν σου και επί τον λαόν σου.
20 And while I was yet speaking, and praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication humbly before the Lord my God because of the holy mountain of my God:
Και ενώ εγώ ελάλουν έτι και προσηυχόμην και εξωμολογούμην την αμαρτίαν μου και την αμαρτίαν του λαού μου Ισραήλ, και προσέφερον την ικεσίαν μου ενώπιον Κυρίου του Θεού μου περί του όρους του αγίου του Θεού μου,
21 Yea, while I was yet speaking in prayer, the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, came, flying swiftly, near me about the time of the evening oblation.
και ενώ εγώ ελάλουν έτι εν τη προσευχή, ο ανήρ Γαβριήλ, τον οποίον είδον εν τη οράσει κατ' αρχάς, πετών ταχέως με ήγγισε περί την ώραν της εσπερινής θυσίας·
22 And he gave me understanding, and spoke with me, and said, O Daniel, now am I come forth to make thee intelligent with understanding.
και με συνέτισε και ελάλησε μετ' εμού και είπε, Δανιήλ, τώρα εξήλθον διά να σε κάμω να λάβης σύνεσιν.
23 At the beginning of thy supplications the word went forth, and I am come to tell it; for thou art greatly beloved: therefore understand the matter, and have understanding of the appearance.
Εν τη αρχή των ικεσιών σου εξήλθεν η προσταγή και εγώ ήλθον να δείξω τούτο εις σέ· διότι είσαι σφόδρα αγαπητός· διά τούτο εννόησον τον λόγον και κατάλαβε την οπτασίαν.
24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to close up the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to atone for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most holy thing.
Εβδομήκοντα εβδομάδες διωρίσθησαν επί τον λαόν σου και επί την πόλιν την αγίαν σου, διά να συντελεσθή η παράβασις και να τελειώσωσιν αι αμαρτίαι, και να γείνη εξιλέωσις περί της ανομίας και να εισαχθή δικαιοσύνη αιώνιος και να σφραγισθή όρασις και προφητεία και να χρισθή ο Άγιος των αγίων.
25 Know therefore and comprehend, that from the going forth of the word to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the anointed the prince will be seven weeks: and during sixty and two weeks will it be again built with streets and ditches [around it], even in the pressure of the times.
Γνώρισον λοιπόν και κατάλαβε ότι από της εξελεύσεως της προσταγής του να ανοικοδομηθή η Ιερουσαλήμ έως του Χριστού του ηγουμένου θέλουσιν είσθαι εβδομάδες επτά και εβδομάδες εξήκοντα δύο· θέλει οικοδομηθή πάλιν η πλατεία και το τείχος, μάλιστα εν καιροίς στενοχωρίας.
26 And after the sixty and two weeks will an anointed one be cut off without a successor to follow him: and the city and the sanctuary will the people of the prince that is coming destroy; but his end will come in a violent overthrow; but until the end of the war devastations are decreed [against it].
Και μετά τας εξήκοντα δύο εβδομάδας θέλει εκκοπή ο Χριστός, πλην ουχί δι' εαυτόν· και ο λαός του ηγουμένου, όστις θέλει ελθεί, θέλει αφανίσει την πόλιν και το αγιαστήριον· και το τέλος αυτής θέλει ελθεί μετά κατακλυσμού, και έως του τέλους του πολέμου είναι διωρισμένοι αφανισμοί.
27 And he will make a strong covenant with the many for one week; and in the half of the week will he cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and this because of the prevalence of the abominations which bringeth devastation, and until destruction and what is decreed shall be poured out upon the waster.
Και θέλει στερεώσει την διαθήκην εις πολλούς εν μιά εβδομάδι· και εν τω ημίσει της εβδομάδος θέλει παύσει η θυσία και η προσφορά, και επί το πτερύγιον του Ιερού θέλει είσθαι το βδέλυγμα της ερημώσεως, και έως της συντελείας του καιρού θέλει δοθή διορία επί την ερήμωσιν.
