Daniel 11

1 And I in the first year of Darius the Mede had my station to assist and to protect him.

മേദ്യനായ ദാര്യാവേശിന്റെ ഒന്നാംവർഷത്തിൽ അദ്ദേഹത്തെ പിൻതാങ്ങുന്നതിനും സംരക്ഷിക്കുന്നതിനും ഞാൻ എഴുന്നേറ്റു.

2 And now will I tell thee the truth. Behold, there will stand up yet three kings of Persia: and the fourth will obtain far greater riches than all [these]: and when he is strong through his riches will he stir up all, [namely, ] the kingdom of Javan.

“ഇപ്പോഴോ, ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു സത്യം അറിയിക്കാം: പാർസിയിൽ ഇനി മൂന്നു രാജാക്കന്മാർകൂടെ എഴുന്നേൽക്കും. അതിനുശേഷം വരുന്ന നാലാമൻ അവരെല്ലാവരെക്കാളും അതിസമ്പന്നനായിരിക്കും. സമ്പത്തിലൂടെ പ്രബലനാകുമ്പോൾ അദ്ദേഹം എല്ലാവരെയും ഗ്രീക്കുദേശത്തിനെതിരേ ഇളക്കിവിടും.

3 And then will stand up a mighty king, who will rule with great dominion, and do according to his pleasure.

പിന്നീടു ശക്തനായ ഒരു രാജാവ് എഴുന്നേൽക്കും. അദ്ദേഹം വലിയ അധികാരത്തോടെ ഭരിക്കുകയും സ്വന്തം ഇഷ്ടംപോലെ പ്രവർത്തിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും.

4 And when he shall have stood, his kingdom will be broken, and will be divided toward the four winds of the heavens, and not to his posterity, nor according to his dominion which he ruled; for his kingdom will be torn asunder even for others beside those.

അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ പ്രതാപകാലത്തുതന്നെ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ രാജ്യം ഛിന്നഭിന്നമായി ആകാശത്തിലെ നാലുകാറ്റിലേക്കും ചിതറിപ്പോകും. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ അനന്തരഗാമികൾക്ക് അതു ലഭിക്കുകയില്ല. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ പ്രതാപം പിന്നെ അതിന് ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കില്ല. കാരണം, അത് ഉന്മൂലനംചെയ്യപ്പെട്ട് അന്യാധീനമാകും.

5 And the king of the south will become strong, yea, he who is one of his princes; but [another] will become strong against him, and will rule: a great dominion will his dominion be.

“അപ്പോൾ തെക്കേരാജ്യത്തിലെ രാജാവു ശക്തനായിത്തീരും. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ സൈന്യാധിപന്മാരിൽ ഒരുവൻ അദ്ദേഹത്തെക്കാൾ ശക്തനായി ഭരണംനടത്തും. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ആധിപത്യം മഹാ ആധിപത്യമായിരിക്കും.

6 But at the end of [some] years will they associate themselves together; and the daughter of the king of the south will come to the king of the north to make a settlement of difficulties; but she will not retain the power of the support; neither will he stand, nor his support: but she will be given up with those that had brought her, and he that begat her, and he that strengthened her in those times.

ഏതാനും വർഷം കഴിഞ്ഞ് അവർ ഒരു സഖ്യംചെയ്യും. തെക്കേരാജ്യത്തിലെ രാജാവിന്റെ പുത്രി, വടക്കേരാജ്യത്തിലെ രാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ഉടമ്പടി ചെയ്യാൻ വരും. എങ്കിലും അവളുടെ അധികാരം നിലനിർത്താൻ കഴിയുകയില്ല. ആ കാലത്ത് അദ്ദേഹവും അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ശക്തിയും തുടരുകയുമില്ല. അവളും അവളെ കൊണ്ടുചെന്നവരും അവളുടെ പിതാവും അവളെ തുണച്ചവരും ഉപേക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടും.

7 But there will up a sprout of her roots in his place, and he will come to the army, and will enter into the stronghold of the king of the north, and will deal with them, and prevail:

“അവളുടെ വേരുകളിൽനിന്ന് മുളച്ച ഒരുവൻ അവളുടെ സ്ഥാനത്ത് ഉയർന്നുവരും. അദ്ദേഹം വടക്കേരാജ്യത്തെ രാജാവിന്റെ സൈന്യത്തിനെതിരേ വന്ന് അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ കോട്ടയ്ക്കുള്ളിൽ പ്രവേശിക്കും; അദ്ദേഹം അവരോടു പൊരുതി ജയിക്കും.

8 And also their gods with their molten images, with their precious vessels of silver and of gold, will he carry into captivity to Egypt; and he will stand off some years from the king of the north.

മാത്രവുമല്ല, അവരുടെ ദേവതകളെ, അവരുടെ ലോഹപ്രതിമകളോടും സ്വർണവും വെള്ളിയുംകൊണ്ടുള്ള വിലയേറിയ പാത്രങ്ങളോടുംകൂടി അദ്ദേഹം ഈജിപ്റ്റിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോകും. പിന്നീട് കുറെ വർഷത്തേക്ക് അദ്ദേഹം വടക്കേരാജ്യത്തിലെ രാജാവിനെ ആക്രമിക്കാതെയിരിക്കും.

9 But this one will then enter the kingdom of the king of the south, and then return into his own land.

അതിനുശേഷം വടക്കേരാജ്യത്തിലെ രാജാവ് തെക്കേരാജ്യത്തിനെതിരേ ആക്രമണം അഴിച്ചുവിടും; എങ്കിലും സ്വന്തം രാജ്യത്തേക്കുതന്നെ മടങ്ങിപ്പോകും.

10 But his sons will commence a war, and assemble a multitude of great armies; and one will certainly enter, and overflow, and pass along: then will he return, and make war again, even to his stronghold.

അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ വീണ്ടും യുദ്ധത്തിനു തയ്യാറെടുക്കുകയും വിപുലമായൊരു സൈന്യത്തെ കൂട്ടിവരുത്തുകയും ചെയ്യും. ആ സൈന്യം മുന്നേറി, ആരാലും തടഞ്ഞുനിർത്താൻ കഴിയാത്ത പ്രളയജലപ്രവാഹംപോലെ മുന്നേറിവന്ന് അയാളുടെ കോട്ടവരെ യുദ്ധം എത്തിച്ചേരും.

11 And the king of the south will be moved with bitter wrath, and go forth and fight with him, even with the king of the north: and he will set forth a great multitude; but the multitude [of the other] will be given up into his hand.

“തെക്കേരാജ്യത്തിലെ രാജാവ് കുപിതനായി സൈന്യത്തെ നീക്കി വടക്കേദേശത്തിലെ രാജാവിനോടു യുദ്ധംചെയ്യും. വടക്കേദേശത്തിലെ രാജാവ് വലിയൊരു സൈന്യത്തെ അണിനിരത്തും, എന്നാൽ ആ സൈന്യം പരാജയപ്പെടും.

12 And the multitude will be lifted up, and his heart will become proud; and he will cast down myriads; but he will not be strengthened by it.

ആ സൈന്യം തൂത്തെറിയപ്പെടുമ്പോൾ തെക്കേരാജ്യത്തിലെ രാജാവ് തന്റെ അഹന്തനിമിത്തം പതിനായിരക്കണക്കിന് ആളുകളെ അരിഞ്ഞുവീഴ്ത്തും, എന്നാലും അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ വിജയം നിലനിൽക്കുകയില്ല.

13 And the king of the north will return, and set forth a multitude greater than the former; and at the end of the times, of years, will he certainly come with a great army and with much riches.

വടക്കേരാജ്യത്തിലെ രാജാവ് മടങ്ങിവന്ന് മുമ്പിലത്തേതിലധികം സൈന്യത്തെ അണിനിരത്തും. ഏതാനും വർഷങ്ങൾക്കുശേഷം അദ്ദേഹം വലിയൊരു സൈന്യത്തോടും സർവസന്നാഹങ്ങളോടുംകൂടെ വരും.

14 And in those times many will stand up against the king of the south: also the rebellious sons of thy people will lift themselves up to establish the vision; but they will stumble.

“ആ കാലത്ത് തെക്കേരാജ്യത്തിലെ രാജാവിനെതിരേ പലരും എഴുന്നേൽക്കും. നിന്റെ ജനങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിലുള്ള അക്രമികളും ദർശനം നിറവേറാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം മത്സരിക്കും, എന്നാൽ അവരും അടിപതറിവീഴും.

15 And the king of the north will come, and cast up a mound, and capture the city defended by fortifications: and the arms of the south will not withstand, and as regardeth his chosen people, there will be no power [in them] to withstand.

അപ്പോൾ വടക്കേദേശത്തിലെ രാജാവു വന്ന് ചരിഞ്ഞ പാത പണിത് കോട്ടകെട്ടിയുറപ്പിച്ച ഒരു പട്ടണം പിടിച്ചെടുക്കും. തെക്കേരാജ്യത്തിലെ സൈന്യത്തിന് ആക്രമണം ചെറുത്തുനിൽക്കാനുള്ള ശേഷി ഉണ്ടാകുകയില്ല; അവരിൽ അതിശക്തരായ സൈനികവ്യൂഹംപോലും ഉറച്ചുനിൽക്കുകയില്ല,

16 But he that cometh against them will do according to his pleasure, and none will stand before him; and he will place himself in the glorious land, which will be altogether in his hand.

വടക്കേദേശത്തിലെ രാജാവ് അക്രമിച്ചുമുന്നേറി അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ഇഷ്ടംപോലെ പ്രവർത്തിക്കും; അദ്ദേഹത്തോട് എതിർത്തുനിൽക്കാൻ ആർക്കും കഴിയുകയില്ല. കുറെ കാലത്തേക്ക് അദ്ദേഹം മനോഹരദേശത്തു തന്റെ സ്ഥാനം ഉറപ്പിക്കും. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ പക്കൽ സംഹാരശേഷി ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കും.

17 He will also direct his face to enter with the strength of his whole kingdom, having professions of peace with him; and thus will he do it: and he will give him the daughter of his wife to destroy it: but it will not stand, and it will not remain his.

തന്റെ സർവരാജ്യത്തിന്റെയും ശക്തിയോടെ വരാൻ അദ്ദേഹം തീരുമാനിച്ച് തെക്കേരാജ്യത്തെ രാജാവുമായി സന്ധിചെയ്യും. അദ്ദേഹം ആ രാജ്യത്തെ നശിപ്പിക്കാൻവേണ്ടി ഒരു പുത്രിയെ അദ്ദേഹത്തിനു വിവാഹംചെയ്തുകൊടുക്കും. എന്നാൽ തന്റെ പദ്ധതി ഫലംകാണുകയില്ല; അവൾ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ പക്ഷത്തു നിൽക്കുകയുമില്ല.

18 And he will direct his face unto the isles, and capture many; but a chieftain will cause to cease his reproach against him: without his giving back to him his own reproach.

പിന്നീട് അദ്ദേഹം തീരപ്രദേശങ്ങളിലേക്കു തിരിഞ്ഞ് നിരവധി പട്ടണങ്ങളും പിടിച്ചെടുക്കും. എന്നാൽ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ധിക്കാരം ഒരു സൈന്യാധിപൻ നിർത്തലാക്കും; ആ ധിക്കാരത്തിനനുസൃതമായ പ്രതികാരവുംചെയ്യും.

19 Then will he direct his face toward the strong-holds of his own land; but he will stumble and fall, and will no more be found.

പിന്നീട് അദ്ദേഹം സ്വന്തം ദേശത്തിലെ കോട്ടകൾക്കുനേരേ തിരിയും; എന്നാൽ പിന്നീടൊരിക്കലും കാണാത്തവിധം കാലിടറി നിലംപൊത്തും.

20 And there will stand up in his place one who will cause the exactor [of taxes] to pass through the glorious [land] of the kingdom; but within a few days will he be broken, but not in anger, nor in battle.

“അതിനുശേഷം അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ സ്ഥാനത്ത് മറ്റൊരുവൻ എഴുന്നേൽക്കും. അദ്ദേഹം തന്റെ രാജ്യത്തിന്റെ മനോഹരഭാഗത്തുകൂടി ഒരു പീഡകനെ അയയ്ക്കും. എങ്കിലും ചില വർഷങ്ങൾക്കുള്ളിൽ അദ്ദേഹം സംഹരിക്കപ്പെടും. അതു കോപത്താലോ യുദ്ധത്താലോ ആയിരിക്കുകയില്ല.

21 And there will stand up in his place a despicable person, to whom they assigned not the honor of the kingdom; but he will come in quietly, and lay hold of the kingdom by flatteries.

“അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ സ്ഥാനത്തു രാജത്വപദവി നൽകപ്പെട്ടിട്ടില്ലാത്ത നിന്ദ്യനായ ഒരുവൻ അധികാരത്തിലേക്കുവരും. ജനം സുരക്ഷിതരെന്നു കരുതിയിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ അയാൾ വന്ന് ഗൂഢാലോചനയിലൂടെ രാജ്യം കൈവശമാക്കും.

22 And the powers of the overflow will be swept away from before him, and will be broken: yea, so also the prince in covenant [with him].

പിന്നീട് പ്രളയതുല്യമായ ഒരു സൈന്യം അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽനിന്ന് തുടച്ചുനീക്കപ്പെടും. ഉടമ്പടിയുടെ പ്രഭുവും നാശമടയും.

23 And from the time of his associating with him will he deal deceitfully; and he will come up, and obtain the victory with a small number of people.

അദ്ദേഹത്തോടൊപ്പം സന്ധിചെയ്തശേഷം അദ്ദേഹം വഞ്ചന പ്രവർത്തിക്കും; ചുരുക്കംചില അനുയായികളോടൊപ്പം അദ്ദേഹം അധികാരത്തിലേക്ക് ഉയർത്തപ്പെടും.

24 In quiet and into the fattest portion of the province will he enter; and he will do what his fathers have not done, nor his fathers' fathers: the prey, and spoil, and riches will he divide freely to them, and against the strong-holds will he devise his plans, but only till a certain time.

സമാധാനകാലത്ത് പ്രവിശ്യകളിലെ ഏറ്റവും സമ്പത്തുള്ള സ്ഥലങ്ങളിലേക്കു കടന്നുചെന്ന് തന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാർക്കോ അവരുടെ പൂർവപിതാക്കന്മാർക്കോ സാധിക്കാതിരുന്നത് അദ്ദേഹം നേടിയെടുക്കും. അദ്ദേഹം കൊള്ളയും കവർച്ചയും സമ്പത്തും തന്റെ അനുയായികൾക്കിടയിൽ വാരിവിതറും. കോട്ടകളുടെനേരേ അദ്ദേഹം തന്റെ പദ്ധതികൾ ആസൂത്രണം ചെയ്യും; എന്നാൽ അത് അൽപ്പകാലത്തേക്കുമാത്രമായിരിക്കും.

25 And he will then stir up his power and his courage against the king of the south with a great army: and the king of the south will prepare himself for the war with an exceedingly great and mighty army; but he will not stand; for they will devise [evil] plans against him.

“അദ്ദേഹം ഒരു വിപുലസൈന്യത്തോടുകൂടെ വന്ന് തെക്കേദേശത്തിലെ രാജാവിനെതിരേ തന്റെ ശക്തിയും ധൈര്യവും പ്രയോഗിക്കും. തന്മൂലം തെക്കേദേശത്തിലെ രാജാവ് വളരെ വിപുലവും ശക്തവുമായ ഒരു സൈന്യവുമായി യുദ്ധത്തിനു പുറപ്പെടും; എങ്കിലും അവർ അദ്ദേഹത്തിനെതിരേ തന്ത്രങ്ങൾ പ്രയോഗിക്കുകകൊണ്ട് ചെറുത്തുനിൽക്കുക ദുഷ്കരമായിരിക്കും.

26 Yea, they that eat of his food will bring his downfall, and the army of the other will overflow; and many will fall down slain.

രാജാവിന്റെ ഭക്ഷണവിഹിതം കഴിക്കുന്നവർതന്നെ അദ്ദേഹത്തെ നശിപ്പിക്കും. അയാളുടെ സൈന്യം തൂത്തെറിയപ്പെടും; വളരെപ്പേർ കൊല്ലപ്പെട്ടവരായി വീഴുകയും ചെയ്യും.

27 And as for both these kings, their heart is bent on mischief, and at one table will they speak lies; but it shall not prosper; for the end is yet for the time appointed.

ഈ രാജാക്കന്മാർ ഇരുവരും ദുഷ്ടത പ്രവർത്തിക്കാൻ ഒരുമ്പെട്ടുകൊണ്ട് ഒരേ മേശയിൽവെച്ചുതന്നെ പരസ്പരം കപടം സംസാരിക്കും; എങ്കിലും അതു സഫലമാകുകയില്ല. നിർണയിക്കപ്പെട്ട സമയത്തുമാത്രമേ അവസാനം വരികയുള്ളൂ.

28 Then will he return into his land with great riches, and his heart will be against the holy covenant: and he will do it, and return to his own land.

പിന്നീട് വടക്കേദേശത്തെ രാജാവ് വലിയ കവർച്ചയോടുകൂടെ സ്വന്തം ദേശത്തേക്കു മടങ്ങും; അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ഹൃദയം വിശുദ്ധ ഉടമ്പടിക്കെതിരേ ഉറച്ചിരിക്കും. അദ്ദേഹം അതിനെതിരേ സ്വന്തം ഇഷ്ടം പ്രവർത്തിച്ച് സ്വദേശത്തേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോകും.

29 At the time appointed will he return, and enter into the south; but not as in the former will it be in the latter time.

“നിശ്ചയിക്കപ്പെട്ട സമയത്ത് അദ്ദേഹം വീണ്ടും തെക്കേദേശത്തെ ആക്രമിക്കും, എന്നാൽ ഈ അന്ത്യകാലഘട്ടത്തിൽ അതു മുമ്പിലത്തേതുപോലെ ഫലിക്കുകയില്ല.

30 For there will come against him the ships of Kittim; and he will become faint-hearted, and return, and will rage against the holy covenant; and he will do it: and he will return, and have an understanding with those that forsake the holy covenant.

കിത്തീം കപ്പലുകൾ അദ്ദേഹത്തിനുനേരേ വരും; അതിനാൽ അദ്ദേഹം നിരാശനായി മടങ്ങും. പിന്നീട് അദ്ദേഹം തന്റെ ക്രോധം വിശുദ്ധ ഉടമ്പടിക്കെതിരേ അഴിച്ചുവിടും. പിന്നീട് അദ്ദേഹം മടങ്ങിവന്ന് വിശുദ്ധ ഉടമ്പടി ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നവരെ ആദരിക്കും.

31 And the army divisions will proceed from him, and they will defile the sanctuary, the fortress, and remove the continual sacrifice, and they will set up the desolating abomination.

“അദ്ദേഹം അയച്ച സൈന്യങ്ങൾ അണിനിരന്ന് വിശുദ്ധമന്ദിരത്തിന്റെ കോട്ട അശുദ്ധമാക്കി നിരന്തരം അർപ്പിക്കേണ്ട ഹോമയാഗം നിർത്തലാക്കും. അപ്പോൾ എല്ലാറ്റിനെയും ഉന്മൂലനംചെയ്യുന്ന മ്ലേച്ഛത അവർ അവിടെ പ്രതിഷ്ഠിക്കും.

32 And such as act wickedly against the covenant will he corrupt by flatteries; but the people that do know their God will be strong, and deal [valiantly].

ഉടമ്പടിക്കു വിരുദ്ധമായി ദുഷ്ടതയോടെ പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നവരെ അയാൾ മുഖസ്തുതികൊണ്ട് വഷളാക്കും. എന്നാൽ തങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവത്തെ അറിയുന്ന ജനം ഉറച്ചുനിന്നു ധീരത കാണിക്കും.

33 And the intelligent among the people will impart understanding to many: yet they will stumble through the sword, and through flame, through captivity, and through being plundered for some time.

“ജനത്തിൽ ജ്ഞാനികൾ പലരെയും പ്രബോധിപ്പിക്കും. എങ്കിലും കുറെക്കാലത്തേക്ക് അവർ വാൾകൊണ്ടും തീകൊണ്ടും പ്രവാസംകൊണ്ടും കവർച്ചകൊണ്ടും വീണുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കും.

34 But in their stumbling will they be aided with a little help: but many will join themselves to them with deceptive flatteries.

അവർ വീഴുമ്പോൾ അൽപ്പസഹായം അവർക്കു ലഭിക്കും. എന്നാൽ പലരും കാപട്യത്തോടെ അവരോടു ചേരും.

35 And some of the intelligent will stumble, to make a purification among them, and to select and to cleanse them, until the time of the end; because it is yet for the time appointed.

എന്നാൽ അന്ത്യകാലംവരെയും അവരിൽ ശുദ്ധീകരണവും നിർമലീകരണവുംകൊണ്ട് നിഷ്കളങ്കരായി മാറ്റപ്പെടേണ്ടതിന് ജ്ഞാനികളിൽ ചിലർ ഇടറിവീഴും; കാരണം നിശ്ചയിക്കപ്പെട്ട സമയത്തുമാത്രമേ അന്ത്യം വരുകയുള്ളൂ.

36 And the king will do according to his pleasure; and he will exalt and magnify himself above every god, and against the God of gods will he speak incredible things, and he will prosper till the indignation be at an end; for that which is determined will be accomplished.

“രാജാവ് സ്വേച്ഛാധിപതിയെപ്പോലെ പ്രവർത്തിക്കും. അദ്ദേഹം എല്ലാ ദേവന്മാർക്കുംമീതേ തന്നെത്താൻ ഉയർത്തി ദേവാധിദൈവത്തിനെതിരേ കൊടിയ ദൂഷണം സംസാരിക്കും. ക്രോധകാലം തികയുവോളും അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ പരിശ്രമങ്ങളെല്ലാം വിജയംനേടും; കാരണം നിർണയിക്കപ്പെട്ടത് അപ്രകാരം സംഭവിക്കുകതന്നെചെയ്യും.

37 And to the gods of his fathers will he pay no regard; and to the desire of women, or to any god whatever will he not pay any regard; for above all will he magnify himself.

എല്ലാവർക്കുംമീതേ സ്വയം ഉയർത്തുന്നവനാകുകയാൽ അദ്ദേഹം തന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ ദേവതകളെയോ സ്ത്രീകളുടെ ഇഷ്ടദേവനെയോ മറ്റേതെങ്കിലും ദേവനെയോ ആദരിക്കുകയില്ല.

38 But in his place he will pay honor to the god of the fortresses; and to a god whom his fathers knew not will he pay honor with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and costly things.

പകരം അദ്ദേഹം തന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാർ അറിഞ്ഞിട്ടില്ലാത്ത ഒരു ദേവനെ—കോട്ടകളുടെ ദേവനെത്തന്നെ—സ്വർണം, വെള്ളി, രത്നങ്ങൾ, അമൂല്യവസ്തുക്കൾ എന്നിവയാൽ ആദരിക്കും.

39 This will he do for the very strong fortresses together with the strange god: whoever will acknowledge him, him will he give much honor; and he will cause such to rule over many, and he will divide out the land for a price.

ഒരു വിദേശദേവന്റെ സഹായത്തോടെ ഏറ്റവും ശക്തമായ കോട്ടകൾക്കെതിരേ അദ്ദേഹം ആഞ്ഞടിക്കും; തന്നെ അംഗീകരിക്കുന്നവർക്ക് അദ്ദേഹം വലിയ ബഹുമതി കൽപ്പിക്കും. പല ദേശങ്ങളെയും ഭരിക്കാൻ അദ്ദേഹം അവർക്ക് അനുവാദം നൽകി ദേശങ്ങളെ പ്രതിഫലമായി വിഭജിച്ചുകൊടുക്കും.

40 And at the time of the end will the king of the south push against him; and the king of the north will come against him like a storm-wind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he will enter into some countries, and will overflow and press along.

“അന്ത്യകാലത്ത് തെക്കേദേശത്തെ രാജാവ് വടക്കേദേശത്തെ രാജാവുമായി യുദ്ധംചെയ്യും. രഥങ്ങളും കുതിരച്ചേവകരും വലിയ കപ്പൽവ്യൂഹങ്ങളുമായി വടക്കേദേശരാജാവ് ചുഴലിക്കാറ്റുപോലെ അദ്ദേഹത്തിനുനേരേ ചെല്ലും. അയാൾ അനേകം രാജ്യങ്ങളുടെമേൽ പാഞ്ഞുകയറി അവയെയെല്ലാം ഒരു പ്രളയംപോലെ കവിഞ്ഞൊഴുകി കടന്നുപോകും.

41 And he will enter into the glorious land, and much will be overthrown; but these will escape out of his hand, even Edom, and Moab, and the first portion of the children of 'Ammon.

അദ്ദേഹം മനോഹരദേശത്തെയും ആക്രമിക്കും. അനേകം രാജ്യങ്ങൾ വീഴും; എന്നാൽ ഏദോമും മോവാബും അമ്മോന്യനേതാക്കന്മാരും അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ കൈയിൽനിന്നു രക്ഷപ്പെടും.

42 And he will stretch forth his hand against some countries, and the land of Egypt will not escape.

അദ്ദേഹം തന്റെ ശക്തിയുള്ള കൈനീട്ടി അനേകം രാജ്യങ്ങളെ പിടിച്ചടക്കും; ഈജിപ്റ്റുദേശം അതിൽനിന്ന് ഒഴിവാകുകയില്ല.

43 And he will have control over the treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the costly things of Egypt: and the Libyans and the Ethiopians will follow at his steps.

ഈജിപ്റ്റിലെ സ്വർണം, വെള്ളി എന്നീ നിക്ഷേപങ്ങളെയും അമൂല്യവസ്തുക്കളെയും അദ്ദേഹം കൈക്കലാക്കും. ലിബിയക്കാരും കൂശ്യരും അദ്ദേഹത്തിനു കീഴടങ്ങും.

44 But reports out of the east and out of the north will terrify him; and he will go forth with great fury to destroy, and to exterminate many.

എന്നാൽ കിഴക്കുനിന്നും വടക്കുനിന്നും ഉള്ള കിംവദന്തികൾ കേട്ട് അദ്ദേഹം അസ്വസ്ഥനാകും. അതുകൊണ്ടു പലരെയും നശിപ്പിക്കാനും ഉന്മൂലനംചെയ്യാനും അദ്ദേഹം മഹാക്രോധത്തോടെ പുറപ്പെടും.

45 And he will pitch the tents of his palace between seas and the glorious holy mountain; and he will come to his end, without one to help him.

സമുദ്രത്തിനും മനോഹരമായ വിശുദ്ധപർവതത്തിനും മധ്യേ അദ്ദേഹം രാജകീയ കൂടാരങ്ങൾ തീർക്കും; എങ്കിലും അദ്ദേഹം ഒടുങ്ങും; ആരും അദ്ദേഹത്തെ സഹായിക്കുകയില്ല.
