Amos 8
1 Thus did the Lord Eternal show unto me: and, behold, there was a basket of summer fruit.
௧பின்பு யெகோவாகிய ஆண்டவர் எனக்குக் காண்பித்தது என்னவென்றால்: இதோ, பழுத்த பழங்களுள்ள ஒரு கூடை இருந்தது.
2 And he said, What dost thou see, 'Amos? And I said, A basket of summer fruit. Then said the Lord unto me, The end is come for my people Israel: I will not farther indulge them any more.
௨அவர்: ஆமோஸே, நீ எதைக் காண்கிறாய் என்று கேட்டார்? பழுத்த பழங்களுள்ள ஒரு கூடையைக் காண்கிறேன் என்றேன். அப்பொழுது யெகோவா என்னை நோக்கி: என்னுடைய மக்களாகிய இஸ்ரவேலுக்கு முடிவுகாலம் வந்தது; இனி அவர்களை மன்னிக்கமாட்டேன்.
3 And the songs of the temple shall become a wailing on that day, saith the Lord Eternal: many shall be the dead bodies; in every place shall men throw them down, [saying, ] Be silent.
௩அந்த நாளிலே தேவாலயப் பாடல்கள் அலறுதலாக மாறும்; எல்லா இடத்திலும் திரளான பிரேதங்கள் புலம்பல் இல்லாமல் எறிந்துவிடப்படும் என்று யெகோவாகிய ஆண்டவர் சொல்லுகிறார்.
4 Hear this, O ye that are greedy to swallow the needy, and to ruin the poor of the land,
௪தேசத்தில் சிறுமைப்பட்டவர்களை ஒழியச்செய்ய, எளியவர்களை விழுங்கி:
5 Saying, When will the new moon be gone, that we may sell provision? and the sabbath, that we may open the corn-warehouses, making the ephah small, and increasing the shekel, and cheating with deceitful balances?
௫நாங்கள் மரக்காலைக் குறைத்து, சேக்கல் நிறையை அதிகமாக்கி, கள்ளத்தராசினால் வஞ்சித்து, தரித்திரர்களைப் பணத்திற்கும், எளியவர்களை ஒரு ஜோடி காலணிகளுக்கும் வாங்கும்படியும், தானியத்தின் பதரை விற்கும்படியும்,
6 That we may buy the poor for silver, and the needy for a pair of shoes; and even sell the refuse of the corn?
௬நாங்கள் கேட்ட கோதுமையை விற்கத்தக்கதாக மாதப்பிறப்பும், நாங்கள் தானியத்தின் சேமிப்புக்கிடங்குகளை திறக்கத்தக்கதாக ஓய்வு நாளும் எப்போது முடியும் என்று சொல்லுகிறவர்களே, இதைக் கேளுங்கள்.
7 Sworn hath the Lord by the excellency of Jacob, Surely I will not forget to eternity all their works.
௭அவர்கள் செய்கைகளையெல்லாம் நான் ஒருபோதும் மறப்பதில்லையென்று யெகோவா யாக்கோபுடைய மகிமையின்பேரில் ஆணையிட்டார்.
8 Shall because of this the land not tremble, and mourn every one that dwelleth therein? and shall it not rise up like a stream wholly, and roll onward and sink again like the stream of Egypt?
௮இதனால் தேசம் அதிரவும் அதில் குடியிருக்கிறவர்கள் எல்லோரும் துக்கிக்கவும், எங்கும் நதிகளாகப் புரண்டோடவும், எகிப்தின் ஆற்றுவெள்ளத்தைப்போல் அடித்து, பெருவெள்ளமாகவும் வேண்டாமோ?
9 And it shall come to pass on that day, saith the Lord Eternal, that I will cause the sun to set at noon, and I will bring darkness over the earth on a bright day;
௯அந்த நாளிலே நான் மத்தியானத்திலே சூரியனை மறையச்செய்து, பட்டப்பகலிலே தேசத்தை இருளாக்கி,
10 And I will change your feasts into mourning, and all your songs into lamentations; and I will bring upon all loins sackcloth, and upon every head baldness; and I will cause [the land] to mourn as one doth for an only son, and its end to be as a day of bitter [complaint].
௧0உங்களுடைய பண்டிகைகளைத் துக்கிப்பாகவும், உங்களுடைய பாடல்களையெல்லாம் புலம்பலாகவும் மாறச்செய்து, எல்லா இடுப்புகளிலும் சணல் ஆடையும், எல்லாத் தலைகளிலும் மொட்டையையும் வருவித்து, அவர்களுடைய துக்கிப்பை ஒரே பிள்ளைக்காகத் துக்கிக்கிற துக்கிப்புக்குச் சமமாக்கி, அவர்களுடைய முடிவைக் கசப்பான நாளாக்குவேன் என்று யெகோவாகிய ஆண்டவர் சொல்லுகிறார்.
11 Behold, days are coming, saith the Lord Eternal, when I will send a famine in the land, not a famine for bread, nor a thirst for water, but to hear the words of the Lord:
௧௧இதோ, நான் தேசத்தின்மேல் பஞ்சத்தை அனுப்பும் நாட்கள் வரும்; ஆகாரக்குறைவினால் உண்டாகிய பஞ்சமல்ல, தண்ணீர்குறைவினால் உண்டாகிய தாகமுமல்ல, யெகோவாவுடைய வசனம் கேட்கக் கிடைக்காத பஞ்சத்தை அனுப்புவேன் என்று யெகோவாகிய ஆண்டவர் சொல்லுகிறார்.
12 And they will wander about from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they will roam about to seek the word of the Lord; but they shall not find it.
௧௨அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் யெகோவாவுடைய வசனத்தைத் தேட ஒரு சமுத்திரம் துவங்கி மறு சமுத்திரம்வரை, வடக்குதிசை துவங்கிக் கிழக்குத்திசைவரை அலைந்து திரிந்தும் அதைக் கண்டடையாமல்போவார்கள்.
13 On that day shall the fair virgins and the young men faint for thirst;
௧௩அந்த நாளிலே அழகுள்ள கன்னிகளும் வாலிபர்களும் தாகத்தினால் சோர்ந்துபோவார்கள்.
14 Those that swear by the guilt of Samaria, and say, As thy god liveth, O Dan; and, As liveth the worshipped idol of Beer-sheba', —yea, they shall fall, and never rise up again.
௧௪தாணே! உன்னுடைய தேவனுடைய ஜீவனைக்கொண்டும், பெயெர்செபா மார்க்கத்தின் தேவனுடைய ஜீவனைக்கொண்டும் என்று சொல்லி, சமாரியாவின் பாவத்தின்மேல் ஆணையிடுகிறவர்கள் விழுவார்கள்; இனி ஒருபோதும் எழுந்திருக்கமாட்டார்கள் என்றார்.
