Amos 1
1 The words of 'Amos, who was among the herdmen of Tekoa, which he foresaw concerning Israel in the days of 'Uzziyah the king of Judah, and in the days of Jerobo'am the son of Joash the king of Israel, two years before the earthquake.
೧ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಉಜ್ಜೀಯನ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಅರಸನೂ, ಯೋವಾಷನ ಮಗನೂ ಆದ ಯಾರೊಬ್ಬಾಮನ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಭೂಕಂಪಕ್ಕೆ ಎರಡು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಮೊದಲೇ ತೆಕೋವದ ಕುರುಬರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನಾದ ಆಮೋಸನಿಗೆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಕೇಳಿಬಂದ ದೈವೋಕ್ತಿಗಳು.
2 And he said, The Lord will cry aloud out of Zion, and from Jerusalem will he send forth his voice; and then shall mourn the pastures of the shepherds, and then shall dry up the top of Carmel.
೨ಆಮೋಸನು ಹೀಗೆ ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಿದನು, “ಯೆಹೋವನು ಚೀಯೋನಿನಿಂದ ಗರ್ಜಿಸಿ, ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಿಂದ ಧ್ವನಿಗೈಯುವನು. ಆಗ ಕುರುಬರ ಹುಲ್ಲುಗಾವಲುಗಳು ಬಾಡಿಹೋಗುವವು. ಕರ್ಮೆಲ್ ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ತುದಿಯು ಒಣಗಿಹೋಗುವವು.”
3 Thus hath said the Lord, For three transgressions of Damascus, and for four, will I not turn away their punishment; because they have threshed [the inhabitants of] Gil'ad with threshing instruments of iron;
೩ಯೆಹೋವನು ಇಂತೆನ್ನುತ್ತಾನೆ, “ದಮಸ್ಕವು ಬಹಳ ದ್ರೋಹಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ, ಅದಕ್ಕಾಗುವ ದಂಡನೆಯನ್ನು ನಾನು ತಪ್ಪಿಸುವುದೇ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅದು ಗಿಲ್ಯಾದನ್ನು ಕಬ್ಬಿಣದ ಹಂತಿ ಕುಂಟೆಗಳಿಂದ ಒಕ್ಕಿ ನುಗ್ಗುಮಾಡಿತಷ್ಟೆ.
4 And I will send a fire into the house of Chazael, which shall devour the palaces of Ben-hadad.
೪ನಾನು ಹಜಾಯೇಲನ ವಂಶದ ಮೇಲೆ ಬೆಂಕಿಯನ್ನು ಸುರಿಸುವೆನು. ಅದು ಬೆನ್ಹದದನ ಅರಮನೆಯನ್ನು ನುಂಗಿಬಿಡುವುದು.
5 And I will break the bars of Damascus, and cut off the inhabitants from the valley of Aven, and him that holdeth the sceptre from the house of 'Eden: and the people of Syria shall be exiled unto Kir, saith the Lord.
೫ನಾನು ದಮಸ್ಕದ ಹೆಬ್ಬಾಗಿಲುಗಳನ್ನು ಮುರಿಯುವೆನು ಮತ್ತು ಆವೆನ್ ತಗ್ಗಿನೊಳಗಿನಿಂದ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳನ್ನು ಮತ್ತು ಬೇತ್ ಎದೆನ್ ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಆಡಳಿತಾಧಿಕಾರಿಯನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮೂಲಮಾಡುವೆನು; ಅರಾಮ್ಯರು ಕೀರ್ ಪಟ್ಟಣಕ್ಕೆ ಸೆರೆಯಾಗಿ ಹೋಗುವರು.” ಇದು ಯೆಹೋವನ ನುಡಿ.
6 Thus hath said the Lord, For three transgressions of Gazzah, and for four, will I not turn away their punishment; because they carried away exiles in full numbers, to deliver them up to Edom;
೬ಯೆಹೋವನು ಇಂತೆನ್ನುತ್ತಾನೆ, “ಗಾಜವು ಬಹಳ ದ್ರೋಹಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ, ಅದಕ್ಕಾಗುವ ದಂಡನೆಯನ್ನು ನಾನು ತಪ್ಪಿಸುವುದೇ ಇಲ್ಲ, ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅದು ಜನರನ್ನು ಗುಂಪುಗುಂಪಾಗಿ ಸೆರೆಹಿಡಿದು ಎದೋಮಿಗೆ ವಶಮಾಡಿಬಿಟ್ಟಿತು.
7 And I will send a fire against the wall of Gazzah, which shall devour her palaces;
೭ನಾನು ಗಾಜದ ಕೋಟೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಬೆಂಕಿಯನ್ನು ಸುರಿಸುವೆನು, ಅದು ಅದರ ಅರಮನೆಗಳನ್ನು ನುಂಗಿಬಿಡುವುದು.
8 And I will cut off the inhabitants from Ashdod, and him that holdeth the sceptre from Ashkelon, and I will turn my hand against 'Ekron: and the remnant of the Philistines shall perish, saith the Lord Eternal.
೮ನಾನು ಅಷ್ದೋದಿನೊಳಗಿಂದ ಸಿಂಹಾಸನಾಸೀನನನ್ನೂ ಮತ್ತು ಅಷ್ಕೆಲೋನಿನೊಳಗಿಂದ ರಾಜದಂಡ ದಾರಿಯನ್ನೂ ನಿರ್ಮೂಲಮಾಡುವೆನು. ನಾನು ಎಕ್ರೋನಿನ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ಕೈಯೆತ್ತುವೆನು, ಉಳಿದ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ನಾಶವಾಗಿ ಹೋಗುವರು.” ಇದು ಕರ್ತನಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನ ನುಡಿ.
9 Thus hath said the Lord, For three transgressions of Tyre, and for four, will I not turn away their punishment; because they delivered up the exiles in full numbers to Edom, and remembered not the brotherly covenant;
೯ಯೆಹೋವನು ಇಂತೆನ್ನುತ್ತಾನೆ: “ತೂರ್ ಪಟ್ಟಣವು ಬಹಳ ದ್ರೋಹಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ, ಅದಕ್ಕಾಗುವ ದಂಡನೆಯನ್ನು ನಾನು ತಪ್ಪಿಸುವುದೇ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅದು ಒಡಹುಟ್ಟಿದವರ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಜ್ಞಾಪಕಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳದೇ, ಜನರನ್ನು ಗುಂಪುಗುಂಪಾಗಿ ಎದೋಮಿಗೆ ವಶಮಾಡಿಬಿಟ್ಟಿತು.
10 And I will send a fire against the walls of Tyre, which shall devour her palaces.
೧೦ನಾನು ತೂರಿನ ಕೋಟೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಬೆಂಕಿಯನ್ನು ಸುರಿಸುವೆನು, ಮತ್ತು ಅದು ಅದರ ಅರಮನೆಗಳನ್ನು ನುಂಗಿಬಿಡುವುದು.”
11 Thus hath said the Lord, For three transgressions of Edom, and for four, will I not turn away their punishment; because he pursued with the sword his brother, and disregarded his mercy, and his anger tore in pieces continually, and he kept his wrath for ever:
೧೧ಯೆಹೋವನು ಇಂತೆನ್ನುತ್ತಾನೆ: “ಎದೋಮ್ ಬಹಳ ದ್ರೋಹಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ, ಅದಕ್ಕಾಗುವ ದಂಡನೆಯನ್ನು ನಾನು ತಪ್ಪಿಸುವುದೇ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅವನು ಕತ್ತಿ ಹಿಡಿದು ತನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರರನ್ನು ಹಿಂದಟ್ಟಿದನು, ಕರುಣೆಯನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ. ರೋಷವನ್ನು ಸಾಧಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇದರಿಂದ ಅವನ ಕೋಪವು ಸದಾ ಹರಿಯುತ್ತಿತ್ತು, ಆತನು ರೌದ್ರವನ್ನು ನಿರಂತರವಾಗಿ ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡನು.
12 And I will send out a fire against Theman, which shall devour the palaces of Bozrah.
೧೨ನಾನು ತೇಮಾನಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಬೆಂಕಿಯನ್ನು ಸುರಿಸುವೆನು, ಮತ್ತು ಅದು ಬೊಚ್ರದ ಅರಮನೆಗಳನ್ನು ನುಂಗಿಬಿಡುವುದು.”
13 Thus hath said the Lord, For three transgressions of the children of 'Ammon, and for four, will I not turn away their punishment; because they have ripped up the pregnant women of Gil'ad, in order to enlarge their own territory;
೧೩ಯೆಹೋವನು ಇಂತೆನ್ನುತ್ತಾನೆ, “ಅಮ್ಮೋನ್ಯರು ಬಹಳ ದ್ರೋಹಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ, ಅದಕ್ಕಾಗುವ ದಂಡನೆಯನ್ನು ನಾನು ತಪ್ಪಿಸುವುದೇ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ದೇಶವನ್ನು ವಿಸ್ತರಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ಗಿಲ್ಯಾದಿನ ಗರ್ಭಿಣಿಯರ ಹೊಟ್ಟೆಯನ್ನು ಸೀಳಿಬಿಟ್ಟರು.
14 And I will kindle a fire within the walls of Rabbah, which shall devour her palaces, with shouting on the day of battle, with a storm on the day of the tempest;
೧೪ನಾನು ರಬ್ಬದ ಕೋಟೆಯನ್ನು ಬೆಂಕಿಯಿಂದ ಉರಿಸುವೆನು, ಅದು ಅದರ ಅರಮನೆಗಳನ್ನು ನುಂಗಿಬಿಡುವುದು; ಆ ಯುದ್ಧದ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಆರ್ಭಟವಾಗುವುದು, ಆ ಸುಂಟರಗಾಳಿಯಂತ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಚಂಡ ಕಾದಾಟವೂ ಉಂಟಾಗುವುದು.
15 And their king shall go into exile, he and his princes together, saith the Lord.
೧೫ಅವರ ಅರಸನೂ ಮತ್ತು ಅವನ ರಾಜ್ಯಾಧಿಕಾರಗಳೂ ಒಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಸೆರೆಯಾಗಿ ಹೋಗುವರು.” ಇದು ಯೆಹೋವನ ನುಡಿ.
