2 Samuel 8
1 And it came to pass after this, that David smote the Philistines, and humbled them: and David took Metheg-haammah out of the hand of the Philistines.
১তারপরে দায়ূদ পলেষ্টীয়দেরকে আঘাত করে পরাজিত করলেন, আর দায়ূদ পলেষ্টীয়দের হাত থেকে প্রধান নগরের কর্তৃত্ব কেড়ে নিলেন৷
2 And he smote Moab, and measured them with a line, laying them down on the ground; and he measured with two lines to put to death, and with one full line to keep alive. And the Moabites became David's servants, bringing presents.
২আর তিনি মোয়াবীয়দেরকে আঘাত করে দড়ি দিয়ে মাপলেন, মাটিতে শুইয়ে হত্যা করার জন্য দুই দড়ি এবং জীবিত রাখবার জন্য সম্পূর্ণ এক দড়ি দিয়ে মাপলেন; তাতে মোয়াবীয়েরা দায়ূদের দাস হয়ে উপহার আনল৷
3 David smote also Hadad'ezer, the son of Rechob, the king of Zobah, as he went to extend his territory at the river Euphrates.
৩আর যে দিনের সোবার রাজা রহোবের ছেলে হদদেষর ফরাৎ নদীর কাছে নিজের কর্তৃত্ব আবার স্থাপন করতে যান, তখন দায়ূদ তাঁকে আঘাত করেন৷
4 And David captured from him a thousand and seven hundred horsemen, and twenty thousand men on foot: and David hamstringed all the chariot-teams, but reserved of them a hundred chariot-teams.
৪দায়ূদ তাঁর কাছ থেকে সতেরশো ঘোড়াচালক ও কুড়ি হাজার পদাতিক সৈন্য নিজের দখলে আনলেন, আর দায়ূদ তাঁর রথের ঘোড়াদের পায়ের শিরা ছিঁড়ে দিলেন, কিন্তু তার মধ্যে একশোটি রথের জন্য ঘোড়া রাখলেন৷
5 And the Syrians of Damascus then came to aid Hadad'ezer, the king of Zobah, when David slew of the Syrians twenty and two thousand men.
৫পরে দম্মেশকের অরামীয়েরা সোবার হদদেষের রাজাকে সাহায্য করতে এলে দায়ূদ সেই অরামীয়দের মধ্যে বাইশ হাজার জনকে আঘাত করলেন৷
6 And David put garrisons in Syria of Damascus: and the Syrians became servants to David, bearing presents. And the Lord helped David whithersoever he went.
৬আর দায়ূদ দম্মেশকের অরাম দেশে সৈন্য স্থাপন করলেন, তাতে অরামীয়েরা দায়ূদের দাস হয়ে উপহার আনল৷ এই ভাবে দায়ূদ যে কোন জায়গায় যেতেন, সেই জায়গায় সদাপ্রভু তাঁকে বিজয়ী করতেন৷
7 And David took the shields of gold that belonged to the servants of Hadad'ezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.
৭আর দায়ূদ হদদেষরের আধিকারিকগণ সোনার ঢালগুলো খুলে যিরূশালেমে আনলেন৷
8 And from Betach, and from Berothai, cities of Hadad'ezer, did king David take exceedingly much copper.
৮আর দায়ূদ রাজা হদদেষরের বেটহ ও বেরোথা নগর থেকে অনেক পিতল আনলেন৷
9 And when To'i the king of Chamath heard that David had smitten all the host of Hadad'ezer,
৯আর দায়ূদ হদদেষরের সমস্ত সৈন্যদলকে আঘাত করেছেন শুনে হমাতের রাজা তয়ি দায়ূদ রাজা কেমন আছেন জিজ্ঞাসা করবার জন্য
10 Then did To'i send Yoram his son unto king David, to ask him after his well-being, and to bless him, because that he had fought against Hadad'ezer, and smitten him; for Hadad'ezer had been engaged in wars with To'i; and he had in his hand vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and vessels of copper:
১০এবং তিনি হদদেষরের সঙ্গে যুদ্ধ করে তাঁকে আঘাত করেছেন বলে তাঁর ধন্যবাদ করবার জন্য নিজের ছেলে যোরামকে তাঁর কাছে পাঠালেন; কারণ হদদেষরের সঙ্গে তয়িরও যুদ্ধ হয়েছিল৷ যোরাম রূপার পাত্র, সোনার পাত্র ও পিতলের পাত্র সঙ্গে নিয়ে আসলেন৷
11 These also did king David sanctify unto the Lord, with the silver and gold that he had sanctified from all the nations which he subdued;
১১তাতে দায়ূদ রাজা সে সেগুলিও সদাপ্রভুর উদ্দেশ্যে পবিত্র করলেন;
12 From Syria, and from Moab, and from the children of 'Ammon, and from the Philistines, and from 'Amalek, and from the spoil of Hadad'ezer, the son of Rechob, the king of Zobah.
১২তাই অরাম, মোয়াব, অম্মোনের লোকেরা এবং পলেষ্টীয় ও অমালেক প্রভৃতি যে সমস্ত জাতিকে তিনি বশীভূত করেছিলেন, তাদের থেকে পাওয়া জিনিসের মধ্যে রূপো ও সোনা এবং সোবার রাজা রহোবের ছেলে হদদেষর থেকে পাওয়া লুটিত জিনিস সকল তিনি পবিত্র করেছিলেন৷
13 And David acquired a name when he returned from his smiting the Syrians in the valley of salt, eighteen thousand men.
১৩আর দায়ূদ অরামকে আঘাত করে ফিরে আসবার দিন লবণ উপত্যকাতে আঠারো হাজার জনকে হত্যা করে খুব সুনাম অর্জন করলেন৷
14 And he put garrisons in Edom; throughout all Edom put he garrisons, and all the Edomites became servants to David. And the Lord helped David whithersoever he went.
১৪পরে দায়ূদ ইদোমে সৈন্যশিবির স্থাপন করলেন, সমস্ত ইদোমে সৈন্যশিবির রাখলেন এবং ইদোমীয় সব লোক দায়ূদের দাস হল৷ আর দায়ূদ যে কোনো জায়গায় যেতেন, সেই জায়গায় সদাপ্রভু তাঁকে বিজয়ী করতেন৷
15 And David reigned over all Israel; and David did what is just and right unto all his people.
১৫দায়ূদ সমস্ত ইস্রায়েলের উপরে রাজত্ব করলেন; দায়ূদ নিজের সমস্ত প্রজা লোকের পক্ষে বিচার ও ন্যায় সম্পন্ন করতেন৷
16 And Joab the son of Zeruyah was over the army; and Jehoshaphat the son of Achilud was recorder;
১৬আর সরূয়ার ছেলে যোয়াব প্রধান সেনাপতি ছিলেন এবং অহীলূদের ছেলে যিহোশাফট যিনি ইতিহাসের লেখক ছিলেন;
17 And Zadok the son of Achitub, and Achimelech the son of Ebyathar, were priests; and Serayah was scribe;
১৭আর অহীটূবের ছেলে সাদোক ও অবিয়াথরের ছেলে অহীমেলক যাজক ছিলেন এবং সরায় লেখক ছিলেন;
18 And Banayahu the son of Yehoyada' was over both the Kerethites and the Pelethites; and David's sons were officers of state.
১৮আর যিহোয়াদার ছেলে বনায় করেথীয় ও পলেথীদের উপরে নিযুক্ত ছিলেন এবং দায়ূদের ছেলেরা যাজক ছিলেন৷
