2 Samuel 6

1 And David assembled again all the chosen men of Israel, thirty thousand.

David ließ dann nochmals alle Auserlesenen in Israel zusammenkommen, 30000 Mann;

2 And David arose, and went with all the people who were with him from Ba'ale-yehudah, to bring up from there the ark of God, the name of which was called by the name of the Lord of hosts, that dwelleth over the cherubim.

dann machte er sich auf und zog mit dem gesamten Volke, das bei ihm war, nach Baala in Juda, um von dort die Lade Gottes heraufzuholen, die den Namen führt nach Gott, dem HERRN der Heerscharen, der über den Cheruben thront.

3 And they conveyed the ark of God in a new wagon, and brought it out of the house of Abinadab that was on the hill; and 'Uzzah and Achyo, the sons of Abinadab, guided the new wagon.

Man lud die Lade Gottes auf einen neuen Wagen und brachte sie so hinweg aus dem Hause Abinadabs, das auf der Anhöhe lag; und zwar lenkten Ussa und Ahjo, die Söhne Abinadabs, den neuen Wagen

4 When they brought it out of the house of Abinadab which was on the hill, [they were] near the ark of God; but Achyo went before the ark.

und brachten die Lade weg aus dem Hause Abinadabs, das auf der Anhöhe lag, indem Ussa neben der Lade Gottes herging, während Ahjo vor der Lade einherschritt.

5 And David and all the house of Israel played before the Lord on all manner of instruments made of fir-wood, and on harps, and on psalteries, and on tambourines, and with bells, and with cymbals.

David aber und alle Israeliten tanzten vor dem HERRN her mit Aufbietung aller Kräfte und mit Liedern unter Begleitung von Zithern und Harfen, Handpauken, Schellen und Zimbeln.

6 And when they came to the threshing-floor of Nachon, 'Uzzah put forth [his hand] to the ark of God, and took hold of it; for the oxen shook it.

Als sie nun so zur Tenne Nachons gekommen waren, griff Ussa mit der Hand nach der Lade Gottes und hielt sie fest, weil die Rinder zu Fall gekommen waren.

7 And the anger of the Lord was kindled against 'Uzzah; and God smote him there for the error; and he died there by the ark of God.

Da entbrannte der Zorn des HERRN gegen Ussa, und Gott schlug ihn dort wegen seiner Verfehlung, so daß er dort neben der Lade Gottes starb.

8 And it was grievous to David, because the Lord had suddenly taken away 'Uzzah; and he called that place Perez-'uzzah [[Breach of 'Uzzah]] until this day.

Da wurde David tief betrübt, daß der HERR einen solchen Schlag gegen Ussa geführt hatte; daher nannte man jenen Ort Perez-Ussa bis auf den heutigen Tag.

9 And David was afraid of the Lord on that day, and said, How shall the ark of the Lord come to me?

David aber geriet an jenem Tage in Furcht vor dem HERRN, so daß er ausrief: »Wie kann da die Lade des HERRN zu mir kommen?!«

10 So David would not allow to have the ark of the Lord removed unto him into the city of David; but David had it carried round into the house of 'Obed-edom the Gittite.

Weil David also die Lade des HERRN nicht zu sich in die Davidsstadt bringen wollte, ließ er sie abseits in das Haus des Gathiters Obed-Edom schaffen.

11 And the ark of the Lord remained in the house of 'Obed-edom the Gittite three months: and the Lord blessed 'Obed-edom, and all his household.

So blieb denn die Lade des HERRN ein Vierteljahr lang im Hause des Gathiters Obed-Edom stehen; der HERR aber segnete Obed-Edom und sein ganzes Haus.

12 And it was told to king David, saying, The Lord hath blessed the house of 'Obed-edom, and all that pertaineth unto him, because of the ark of God: and David then went and brought up the ark of God from the house of 'Obed-edom into the city of David with joy.

Als man nun dem König David berichtete, der HERR habe das Haus Obed-Edoms und sein ganzes Besitztum um der Lade Gottes willen gesegnet, da ging David hin und holte die Lade Gottes voller Freude aus dem Hause Obed-Edoms nach der Davidsstadt hinauf

13 And it happened, that when the bearers of the ark of the Lord had progressed six paces, he sacrificed an ox and a fatling.

und opferte dabei, als die Träger der Lade des HERRN sechs Schritte gegangen waren, ein Rind und ein Mastkalb.

14 And David danced with all his might before the Lord; and David was girded with a linen ephod.

Auch tanzte David mit Aufbietung aller Kraft vor dem HERRN her, wobei er nur mit einem leinenen Schulterkleid umgürtet war.

15 So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the Lord with shouting, and with the sound of the cornet.

So brachte David mit allen Israeliten die Lade des HERRN unter Jauchzen und Posaunenschall (nach Jerusalem) hinauf.

16 And it happened, as the ark of the Lord came into the city of David, that Michal the daughter of Saul looked through the window, and saw king David leaping and dancing before the Lord; and she despised him in her heart.

Da begab es sich, als die Lade des HERRN in die Davidsstadt einzog, daß Sauls Tochter Michal zum Fenster hinausschaute; als sie nun den König David so vor dem HERRN her hüpfen und tanzen sah, empfand sie Verachtung für ihn in ihrem Herzen.

17 And they brought in the ark of the Lord, and set it in its place, in the midst of the tent that David had pitched for it: and David offered burnt-offerings before the Lord and peace-offerings.

Nachdem man dann die Lade des HERRN hineingebracht und sie an ihren Platz inmitten des Zeltes, das von David für sie aufgeschlagen worden war, niedergesetzt hatte, brachte David Brand- und Heilsopfer vor dem HERRN dar,

18 And when David had made an end of offering the burnt-offerings and the peace-offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the Lord of hosts.

segnete dann, als er mit der Darbringung der Brand- und Heilsopfer fertig war, das Volk im Namen des HERRN der Heerscharen

19 And he dealt out to all the people, to the whole multitude of Israel, to both men and women, to every person one cake of bread, and a good piece of flesh, and a flagon of wine: and all the people departed every one to his house.

und ließ unter das ganze Volk, an sämtliche Israeliten, sowohl an Männer wie an Frauen, an einen jeden einen Brotkuchen, ein Stück Fleisch und einen Rosinenkuchen austeilen. Darauf kehrte jedermann aus dem Volk nach Hause zurück.

20 And David then returned to bless his household. But Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David, and she said, How honored was today the king of Israel, who uncovered himself today before the eyes of the hand-maids of his servants, as only one of the low fellows can uncover himself!

Als nun David heimkehrte, um seine Familie zu begrüßen, trat Sauls Tochter Michal ihm mit den Worten entgegen: »Wie würdevoll hat sich heute der König von Israel benommen, indem er sich heute vor den Augen der Mägde seiner Untertanen entblößt hat, wie es sonst nur gemeine Leute tun!«

21 And David said unto Michal, Before the Lord, who chose me before thy father, and before all his house, to ordain me ruler over the people of the Lord, over Israel: —yea, before the Lord will I yet farther play.

Da erwiderte David der Michal: »Vor dem HERRN, der mich vor deinem Vater und vor dessen ganzem Hause erwählt hat, um mich zum Fürsten über das Volk des HERRN, über Israel, zu bestellen – ja vor dem HERRN will ich tanzen,

22 And should I be yet more vile than thus, and should I be base in my own eyes: yet among the maid-servants of whom thou hast spoken, yea, among them would I still be honored.

auch wenn ich mich dadurch noch tiefer erniedrige als diesmal, und will demütig von mir denken; aber bei den Mägden, von denen du redest – bei ihnen werde ich an Ehre gewinnen.«

23 And Michal the daughter of Saul had no child until the day of her death.

Michal aber, Sauls Tochter, blieb bis an ihren Todestag kinderlos.
