2 Samuel 5

1 Then came all the tribes of Israel to David unto Hebron, and spoke, saying, Behold us, thy bone and thy flesh are we;

Y vinieron todas las tribus de Israel a David en Hebrón, y hablaron, diciendo: He aquí, nosotros somos tus huesos y tu carne.

2 Already yesterday, and even before, when Saul was king over us, thou wast the one that led out and brought in Israel: And the Lord said to thee, Thou shalt indeed feed my people Israel, and thou shalt be a chief over Israel.

Y aun ayer y anteayer cuando Saul reinaba sobre nosotros, tú sacabas y volvías a Israel. Además de esto, Jehová te ha dicho: Tú apacentarás a mi pueblo Israel, y tú serás príncipe sobre Israel.

3 Thus came all the elders of Israel to the king unto Hebron; and king David made a covenant with them in Hebron before the Lord: and they anointed David as king over Israel.

Vinieron pues todos los ancianos de Israel al rey en Hebrón; y el rey David hizo con ellos alianza en Hebrón delante de Jehová: y ungieron a David por rey sobre Israel.

4 Thirty years was David old when he became king, [and] forty years he reigned.

David era de treinta años, cuando comenzó a reinar; y reinó cuarenta años.

5 In Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months: and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty and three years over all Israel and Judah.

En Hebrón reinó sobre Judá siete años y seis meses; y en Jerusalem reinó treinta y tres años sobre todo Israel y Judá.

6 And the king and his men went to Jerusalem against the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land; who said unto David, as followeth, Thou shalt not come in hither, except thou [first] remove away the blind and the lame: meaning, David cannot come in hither.

Entonces el rey y los suyos vinieron a Jerusalem al Jebuseo que habitaba en la tierra, el cual habló a David, diciendo: Tú no entrarás acá, si no echares los ciegos y los cojos, diciendo: No vendrá David acá.

7 Nevertheless David captured the strong-hold of Zion; the same is the city of David.

Mas David tomó la fortaleza de Sión, la cual es la ciudad de David.

8 And David said on that day, Whosoever will smite the Jebusites, and reach the aqueduct and the lame and the blind, that are hateful to David's soul, —Wherefore people usually say, The blind and the lame shall not come into the house.

Y dijo David aquel día: ¿Quién llegará hasta las canales, y herirá al Jebuseo, y a los cojos y los ciegos, a los cuales el alma de David aborrece? Por esto se dijo: Ciego ni cojo no entrará en casa.

9 And David dwelt in the fort, and he called it “The City of David.” And David built [it] round about from the Millo and inward.

Y David moró en la fortaleza, y púsole nombre, Ciudad de David: y edificó al derredor desde Mello para dentro.

10 And David went on, and became greater and greater, and the Lord the God of hosts was with him.

Y David iba creciendo y aumentándose: y Jehová Dios de los ejércitos era con él.

11 And Hiram the king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar-trees, and carpenters, and stone-masons: and they built a house for David.

E Hiram rey de Tiro envió embajadores a David, y madera de cedro, y carpinteros, y canteros para los muros, los cuales edificaron la casa de David.

12 And David felt conscious that the Lord has established him as king over Israel, and that he had exalted his kingdom for the sake of his people Israel.

Y entendió David que Jehová le había confirmado por rey sobre Israel, y que había ensalzado su reino por amor de su pueblo Israel.

13 And David took yet more concubines and wives out of Jerusalem, after he was come from Hebron; and there were born to David yet [more] sons and daughters.

Y tomó David más concubinas, y mujeres de Jerusalem, después que vino de Hebrón, y naciéronle más hijos e hijas.

14 And these are the names of those that were born unto him in Jerusalem: Shammua', and Shobab, and Nathan, and Solomon,

Estos son los nombres de los que le nacieron en Jerusalem: Samua, y Sobat, y Natán, y Salomón.

15 And Yibchar, and Elishua', and Nepheg, and Yaphia',

Y Jebahar, y Elisua, y Nefeg.

16 And Elishama', and Elyada', and Eliphelet.

Y Jafia, y Elisama, y Elioda, y Elifalet.

17 But when the Philistines heard that the people had anointed David as king over Israel, all the Philistines came up to seek David: and David heard of it, and went down to the strong-hold.

Y oyendo los Filisteos que habían ungido a David por rey sobre Israel, todos los Filisteos subieron a buscar a David: lo cual como David oyó, vino a la fortaleza.

18 The Philistines also came and spread themselves out in the valley of Rephaim.

Y vinieron los Filisteos, y extendiéronse por el valle de Rafaim.

19 And David asked counsel of the Lord, saying, shall I go up against the Philistines? wilt thou deliver them into my hand? And the Lord said unto David, Go up; for I will certainly deliver the Philistines into thy hand.

Y David consultó a Jehová, diciendo: ¿Iré contra los Filisteos? ¿Entregarlos has en mis manos? Y Jehová respondió a David: Vé; porque entregando entregaré los Filisteos en tus manos.

20 And David came to Ba'al-perazim, and David smote them there, and said, The Lord hath broken down my enemies before me, as a breach [is made by] water. Wherefore he called the name of that place Ba'al-perazim.

Y vino David a Baal-perazim, y allí les venció David, y dijo: Rompió Jehová a mis enemigos delante de mí, como quien rompe aguas. Y por esto llamó el nombre de aquel lugar Baal-perazim:

21 And they left behind there their idols, and David and his men burnt them.

Y dejaron allí sus ídolos, los cuales quemó David y los suyos.

22 And the Philistines came up once again, and spread themselves out in the valley of Rephaim.

Y los Filisteos tornaron a venir, y extendiéronse en el valle de Rafaim.

23 And when David asked counsel of the Lord, he said, Thou shalt not go up; but turn about and fall in the rear of them, and come upon them opposite to the mulberry-trees.

Y consultando David a Jehová, él le respondió: No subas; mas rodéalos, y vendrás a ellos por delante de los morales:

24 And it shall be, when thou hearest the sound of walking on the top of the mulberry-trees, that thou shalt then bestir thyself; for then will the Lord go out before thee, to smite in the camp of the Philistines.

Y cuando oyeres un estruendo que irá por las copas de los morales, entonces te moverás: porque Jehová saldrá delante de ti a herir el campo de los Filisteos.

25 And David did so, as the Lord had commanded him; and he smote the Philistines from Geba' until thou comest to Gezer.

Y David lo hizo así, como Jehová se lo había mandado: e hirió a los Filisteos desde Gabaa hasta llegar a Gaza.
