2 Samuel 5
1 Then came all the tribes of Israel to David unto Hebron, and spoke, saying, Behold us, thy bone and thy flesh are we;
त्यसपछि सबै इस्राएल हेब्रोनमा दाऊदकहाँ आए र भने, “हे्र्नुहोस्, हामी तपाईंकै मासु र हड्डी हौं ।
2 Already yesterday, and even before, when Saul was king over us, thou wast the one that led out and brought in Israel: And the Lord said to thee, Thou shalt indeed feed my people Israel, and thou shalt be a chief over Israel.
केही समयअगि जब शाऊल हामीमाथि राजा थिए, तब तपाईंले नै इस्राएलको फौजको नेतृत्व गर्नुभयो । परमप्रभुले तपाईंलाई भन्नुभयो, 'तैंले नै मेरा इस्राएल इस्राएलको गोठालो गर्ने छस् र तँ नै इस्राएलमाथि शासक हुने छस्' ।”
3 Thus came all the elders of Israel to the king unto Hebron; and king David made a covenant with them in Hebron before the Lord: and they anointed David as king over Israel.
त्यसैले इस्राएलका सबै धर्म-गुरुहरू राजाकहाँ हेब्रोनमा आए र राजा दाऊदले परमप्रभुको सामु तिनीहरूसँग करार गरे । तिनीहरूले दाऊदलाई इस्राएलमाथि राजा अभिषेक गरे ।
4 Thirty years was David old when he became king, [and] forty years he reigned.
दाऊदले राज्य गर्न सुरु गर्दा तिनी तिस वर्षका थिए र तिनले चालिस वर्षसम्म राज्य गरे ।
5 In Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months: and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty and three years over all Israel and Judah.
तिनले हेब्रोनमा सात वर्ष छ महिना राज्य गरे र सबै इस्राएल र यहूदामा तेत्तीस वर्ष राज्य गरे ।
6 And the king and his men went to Jerusalem against the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land; who said unto David, as followeth, Thou shalt not come in hither, except thou [first] remove away the blind and the lame: meaning, David cannot come in hither.
राजा र तिनका मानिसहरू त्यस ठाउँका बासिन्दाहरू अर्थात् यरूशलेमका यबूसीहरूका विरुद्ध लड्न गए । तिनीहरूले दाऊदलाई भने, “तपाईं यहाँ आउनुभयो भने, अन्धा र लङ्गडाले नै फर्काइदिने छन्। दाऊद यहाँ आउन सक्दैन ।”
7 Nevertheless David captured the strong-hold of Zion; the same is the city of David.
तापनि, दाऊदले सियोनका किल्ला कब्जा गरे, जुन अहिले दाऊदको सहर हो ।
8 And David said on that day, Whosoever will smite the Jebusites, and reach the aqueduct and the lame and the blind, that are hateful to David's soul, —Wherefore people usually say, The blind and the lame shall not come into the house.
त्यति नै बेला दाऊदले भने, “यबूसीहरूलाई आक्रमण गर्नेहरूले 'लङ्गडा र अन्धाकहाँ’ पुग्न पानीको नालीबाट जाने छ जो दाऊदका शत्रुहरू हुन् ।” यसैले मानिसहरूले भन्छन्, “'अन्धा र लङ्गडाहरू' दरबारमा प्रवेश गर्नुहुँदैन ।”
9 And David dwelt in the fort, and he called it “The City of David.” And David built [it] round about from the Millo and inward.
त्यसैले दाऊद त्यो किल्लामा बसे र यसलाई दाऊदको सहर भनियो । तिनले यसलाई गाराहरूदेखि भित्रसम्म नै किल्लाबन्दी गरे ।
10 And David went on, and became greater and greater, and the Lord the God of hosts was with him.
दाऊद धेरै शक्तिशाली भए किनभने परमप्रभु सर्वशक्तिमान् परमेश्वर तिनीसँग हुनुहुन्थ्यो ।
11 And Hiram the king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar-trees, and carpenters, and stone-masons: and they built a house for David.
त्यसपछि टुरोसका राजा हीरामले दाऊदकहाँ दूतहरू पठाए अनि देवदारुका काठहरू, डकर्मीहरू र सिकर्मीहरूलाई पनि पठाए । तिनीहरूले दाऊदको निम्ति महल बनाए ।
12 And David felt conscious that the Lord has established him as king over Israel, and that he had exalted his kingdom for the sake of his people Israel.
परमप्रभुले आफूलाई इस्राएलमाथि राजाको रूपमा स्थापित गर्नुभएको थियो भनी दाऊदले जान्दथे र उहाँले आफ्ना मानिस इस्राएलको खातिर तिनको राज्यलाई उच्च पार्नुभएको थियो ।
13 And David took yet more concubines and wives out of Jerusalem, after he was come from Hebron; and there were born to David yet [more] sons and daughters.
दाऊदले हेब्रोन छोडे र यरूशलेममा आए, त्यसपछि तिनले यरूशलेममा अरू धेरै उपपत्नीहरू र पत्नीहरू ल्याए र तिनका अरू धेरै छोराहरू र छोरीहरू जन्मे ।
14 And these are the names of those that were born unto him in Jerusalem: Shammua', and Shobab, and Nathan, and Solomon,
यरूशलेममा जन्मेका तिनका छोराछोरीका नाउँ यीनै थिएः शम्मूअ, शोबाब, नातान, सोलोमन,
15 And Yibchar, and Elishua', and Nepheg, and Yaphia',
यिभार, इलीशूअ, नेपेग, यापी,
16 And Elishama', and Elyada', and Eliphelet.
एलीशामा, एल्यादा र एलीपेलेत ।
17 But when the Philistines heard that the people had anointed David as king over Israel, all the Philistines came up to seek David: and David heard of it, and went down to the strong-hold.
अब दाऊदलाई इस्राएलको राजा अभिषेक गरिएको छ भनेर जब पलिश्तीहरूले सुने, तब तिनीहरू सबै तिनलाई खोज्न गए । तर दाऊदले यो सुने र तल किल्लामा गए ।
18 The Philistines also came and spread themselves out in the valley of Rephaim.
पलिश्तीहरू आएका थिए र रपाईको बेसीमा छरिएका थिए ।
19 And David asked counsel of the Lord, saying, shall I go up against the Philistines? wilt thou deliver them into my hand? And the Lord said unto David, Go up; for I will certainly deliver the Philistines into thy hand.
त्यसपछि दाऊदले परमप्रभुसँग सहायता मागे । तिनले भने, “के म पलिश्तीहरूलाई आक्रमण गरूँ? के तपाईंले मलाई तिनीहरूमाथि विजय दिनुहुन्छ?” पमरप्रभुले दाऊदलाई भन्नुभयो, “आक्रमण गर्, किनभने म निश्चय नै तँलाई पलिश्तीहरूमाथि विजय गराउने छु ।”
20 And David came to Ba'al-perazim, and David smote them there, and said, The Lord hath broken down my enemies before me, as a breach [is made by] water. Wherefore he called the name of that place Ba'al-perazim.
त्यसैले दाऊदले बाल-पराजीमा आक्रमण गरे र त्यहाँ तिनले तिनीहरूलाई पराजित गरे । तिनले भने, “परमप्रभु विष्फोट हुने पानीको बाढीझैं मेरो सामु मेरा शत्रुहरूका विरुद्ध विष्फोट हुनुभएको छ ।” त्यसैले त्यस ठाउँको नाउँ बाल-पराजीम भयो ।
21 And they left behind there their idols, and David and his men burnt them.
पलिश्तीहरूले त्यहाँ आफ्ना मूर्तीहरू छोडिराखे अनि दाऊद र तिनका मानिसहरूले ती लिएर गए ।
22 And the Philistines came up once again, and spread themselves out in the valley of Rephaim.
त्यसपछि पलिश्तीहरू फेरि माथि आए र फेरि एक पटक रपाईो बेसीमा फैलिएर बसे ।
23 And when David asked counsel of the Lord, he said, Thou shalt not go up; but turn about and fall in the rear of them, and come upon them opposite to the mulberry-trees.
त्यसैले दाऊदले फेरि पनि परमप्रभुसँग सहायता मागे र पमरप्रभुले तिनलाई भन्नुभयो, “तैंले तिनीहरूलाई अडागिबाट आक्रमण गर्नु हुँदैन, तर तिनीहरूको पछिल्तिरबाट फन्को मारेर लहरे-पिपलको जङ्गलभएर तिनीहरूमाथि जाइलाग ।
24 And it shall be, when thou hearest the sound of walking on the top of the mulberry-trees, that thou shalt then bestir thyself; for then will the Lord go out before thee, to smite in the camp of the Philistines.
जब तैंले लहरे-पिपलको टुप्पाहरूमा हावा लाग्दा आउने परेडको आवाज सुन्छस्, तब फौजका साथमा आक्रमण गर् । यसो गर् किनभने तैंले पलिश्तीहरू आक्रमण गर्नुअगि परमप्रभु जानुभएको हुनुहुने छ ।”
25 And David did so, as the Lord had commanded him; and he smote the Philistines from Geba' until thou comest to Gezer.
त्यसैले परमप्रभुले आज्ञा गर्नुभएझैं दाऊदले गरे । तिनले पलिश्तीहरूलाई गिबिनदेखि गेजेरतिर जाने बाटोसम्म नै मारे ।
