2 Samuel 3
1 And the war lasted a long time between the house of Saul and the house of David; but David became continually stronger and stronger, and the house of Saul became continually weaker and weaker.
౧సౌలు కుటుంబం వారికీ, దావీదు కుటుంబం వారికీ చాలాకాలం పాటు యుద్ధాలు జరిగాయి. ఫలితంగా దావీదు మరింత బలంగా వృద్ధి చెందాడు, సౌలు కుటుంబం క్రమేపీ క్షీణించిపోయింది.
2 And there were born unto David sons in Hebron: and his first-born was Amnon, of Achino'am the Yizre'elitess;
౨హెబ్రోనులో దావీదుకు పుట్టిన కొడుకులు. యెజ్రెయేలీయురాలైన అహీనోయముకు అమ్నోను అనే మొదటి కొడుకు పుట్టాడు.
3 And his second was Kilab, of Abigayil the wife of Nabal the Carmelite; and the third, Abshalom, the son of Ma'achah the daughter of Talmai the king of Geshur;
౩రెండవ కొడుకు కిల్యాబు అంతకు ముందు కర్మెలీ వాడైన నాబాలుకు భార్యగా ఉన్న అబీగయీలుకు పుట్టాడు. మూడవ వాడు అబ్షాలోము గెషూరు రాజైన తల్మయి కుమార్తె మయకాకు పుట్టాడు.
4 And the fourth, Adoniyah, the son of Chaggith; and the fifth, Shephatyah, the son of Abital;
౪నాలుగవ వాడు అదోనీయా హగ్గీతుకు పుట్టాడు. అయిదవ వాడు షెఫట్య అబీటలుకు పుట్టాడు.
5 And the sixth, Yithre'am, by 'Eglah, David's wife. These were born to David in Hebron.
౫ఆరవ వాడు ఇత్రెయాము దావీదు భార్య ఎగ్లాకు పుట్టాడు. వీరంతా హెబ్రోనులో దావీదుకు పుట్టిన కొడుకులు.
6 And it came to pass, while the war lasted between the house of Saul and the house of David, that Abner upheld with all his strength the house of Saul.
౬సౌలు కుటుంబం వారికీ, దావీదు కుటుంబం వారికీ యుద్ధాలు జరిగే సమయంలో అబ్నేరు సౌలు కుటుంబం వారికి ఎంతో సహాయం చేశాడు.
7 And Saul had a concubine, whose name was Rizpah, the daughter of Ayah: and Ish-bosheth said to Abner, Wherefore hast thou gone in unto my father's concubine?
౭రిస్పా కూతురు అయ్యా సౌలుకు ఒక ఉపపత్ని. ఇష్బోషెతు “నా తండ్రి ఉపపత్నితో నువ్వెందుకు సంబంధం పెట్టుకున్నావు” అని అబ్నేరును ప్రశ్నించాడు.
8 And Abner became very wroth because of the words of Ish-bosheth, and said, Am I the chief of the dogs which belong to Judah? unto this day have I shown kindness unto the house of Saul thy father, to his brothers, and to his friends, and have not delivered thee into the hand of David; and yet thou chargest me today with a wrong committed with this woman?
౮ఇష్బోషెతు తనను అలా నిలదీసి అడిగినందుకు అబ్నేరుకు తీవ్రమైన కోపం వచ్చింది. అబ్నేరు “నిన్ను దావీదు చేతికి అప్పగించకుండా నీ తండ్రి అయిన సౌలు కుటుంబం వారికీ, అతని సహోదరులకూ, అతని స్నేహితులకూ నేను ఉపకారం చేశానే. నన్ను యూదావారి పక్షంతో చేరిన కుక్కతో సమానంగా ఎంచి, ఈ రోజున ఒక స్త్రీని బట్టి నా మీద నేరం మోపుతున్నావా?
9 May God do so to Abner, and continue to do yet more to him, that, as the Lord hath sworn to David, even so will I surely do to him;
౯యెహోవా దావీదుకు ప్రమాణం చేసిన దాన్ని అతని పక్షంగా నేను చేయకపోతే
10 To transfer the kingdom from the house of Saul, and to establish the throne of David over Israel and over Judah, from Dan even to Beer-sheba'.
౧౦దేవుడు నాకు గొప్ప కీడు రప్పిస్తాడు గాక. సౌలు కుటుంబం వారి చేతిలోనుండి రాజ్యాన్ని తప్పించి దాను నుండి బెయేర్షెబా దాకా ఇశ్రాయేలు వారికి, యూదా వారికి దావీదు సింహాసనాన్ని నేను స్థిరపరుస్తాను” అన్నాడు.
11 And he could not answer Abner a word more in reply, because of his fear of him.
౧౧అబ్నేరు మాటలకు భయపడిన ఇష్బోషెతు ఇంకేమీ మాట్లాడలేకపోయాడు.
12 And Abner sent messengers to David on his behalf, saying, Whose is the land? saying [also, ] Make thy covenant with me, and, behold, my hand shall be with thee, to bring round unto thee all Israel.
౧౨అబ్నేరు తన మనుషులను దావీదు దగ్గరికి పంపి “ఈ రాజ్యం ఎవరిది? నువ్వు నాతో ఒప్పందం చెయ్యి. నేను నీకు సహాయం చేసి ఇశ్రాయేలు వారినందరినీ నీవైపు తిప్పుతాను” అని కబురు పంపాడు. అప్పుడు దావీదు “మంచిది. నేను నీతో ఒప్పందం చేస్తాను.
13 And he said, Well: I will indeed make a covenant with thee; but one thing I require of thee, namely, Thou shalt not see my face, except thou first bring Michal, Saul's daughter, when thou comest to see my face.
౧౩అయితే నువ్వు ఒక పని చేయాలి. నన్ను చూడడానికి వచ్చే సమయంలో సౌలు కూతురు మీకాలును నా దగ్గరికి తీసుకురావాలి. లేకపోతే నీకు నా దర్శనం దొరకదు” అని జవాబిచ్చాడు.
14 And David sent messengers to Ish-bosheth, the son of Saul, saying, Give up to me my wife Michal, whom I espoused to me for a hundred foreskins of the Philistines.
౧౪దావీదు సౌలు కొడుకు ఇష్బోషెతు దగ్గరికి తన మనుషులను పంపించి “ఫిలిష్తీయుల్లో వందమంది మర్మాంగ చర్మపు కొనలను తెచ్చి నేను పెండ్లి చేసుకొన్న మీకాలును నాకు అప్పగించాలి” అని చెప్పమన్నాడు.
15 And Ish-bosheth sent, and took her from the man, from Paltiel the son of Layish.
౧౫మీకాలు భర్త, లాయీషు కొడుకు అయిన పల్తీయేలు దగ్గర నుండి మీకాలును తీసుకు వచ్చేందుకు ఇష్బోషెతు తన మనుషులను పంపించాడు.
16 And her husband went with her going along and weeping behind her as far as Bachurim: when Abner said unto him, Go, return. And he returned.
౧౬ఆమె భర్త బహూరీము వరకూ మీకాలు వెనకాలే ఏడ్చుకుంటూ వస్తుంటే అబ్నేరు “నీవు తిరిగి వెనక్కి వెళ్ళిపో” అని చెప్పగానే అతడు వెళ్లిపోయాడు.
17 And Abner had used these words with the elders of Israel, saying, Already yesterday and even before ye have been desiring David as king over you:
౧౭అప్పుడు అబ్నేరు ఇశ్రాయేలు పెద్దలను పిలిపించి “దావీదు మిమ్మల్ని పాలించాలని మీరు ఇంతకు ముందు కోరుకున్నారు గదా?
18 And now do it; for the Lord hath said of David thus, By the hand of my servant David will I save my people Israel out of the hand of the Philistines, and out of the hand of all their enemies.
౧౮‘నా సేవకుడైన దావీదు చేత నా ప్రజలైన ఇశ్రాయేలీయులను ఫిలిష్తీయుల చేతిలో నుండి, వారి శత్రువులందరి చేతిలో నుండి విమోచిస్తాను’ అని యెహోవా దావీదును గూర్చి సెలవిచ్చాడు కాబట్టి మీ కోరిక నెరవేర్చుకోండి” అని వారితో చెప్పాడు.
19 And Abner also spoke in the ears of Benjamin; and Abner went also to speak in the ears of David in Hebron all that seemed good in the eyes of Israel, and in the eyes of the whole house of Benjamin.
౧౯అబ్నేరు బెన్యామీనీయులతో ఆ విధంగా మాట్లాడిన తరువాత హెబ్రోనుకు వచ్చి ఇశ్రాయేలువారి దృష్టికి, బెన్యామీనీయులందరి దృష్టికి ఏది అనుకూలమో దాన్ని దావీదుకు పూర్తిగా తెలియచేశాడు.
20 And Abner came to David to Hebron, and with him were twenty men; and David made for Abner and for the men that were with him a feast.
౨౦అందుకోసం అబ్నేరు ఇరవైమందిని వెంటబెట్టుకుని హెబ్రోనులో ఉన్న దావీదు దగ్గరకి వచ్చాడు. దావీదు అబ్నేరుకు, అతని మనుషులకు విందు చేయించాడు.
21 And Abner said unto David, I will now arise and go, and I will assemble unto my Lord the king all Israel, that they may make a covenant with thee, and that thou mayest reign over all that thy soul longeth for. And David dismissed Abner: and he went in peace.
౨౧అప్పుడు అబ్నేరు “నేను వెళ్లి ఇశ్రాయేలు వారినందరినీ నా రాజు అయిన నీ సమక్షంలో సమకూర్చి, వారు నీతో ఒప్పందం చేసేలా, నీ చిత్త ప్రకారంగా నువ్వు రాజ్యాధికారం చేపట్టి నువ్వు కోరుకున్నదాని అంతటినీ పాలించేలా చేస్తాను” అని దావీదుతో చెప్పి అతని దగ్గర అనుమతి తీసుకుని శాంతికరంగా వెళ్లిపోయాడు.
22 And, behold, the servants of David and Joab came from a predatory excursion, and brought in much booty with them; but Abner was no more with David in Hebron; for he had dismissed him, and he was gone in peace.
౨౨దావీదు సేవకులు, యోవాబు యుద్ధంలో పెద్ద మొత్తంలో దోచుకున్న దోపుడు సొమ్ము తీసుకు వచ్చే సమయానికి అబ్నేరు హెబ్రోనులో దావీదు దగ్గర లేడు. ఆప్పటికే దావీదు దగ్గర అనుమతి తీసుకుని అతడు శాంతికరంగా వెళ్ళిపోయాడు.
23 When Joab and all the army that was with him were come, they told Joab, saying, Abner the son of Ner came to the king, and he hath dismissed him, and he is gone in peace.
౨౩అయితే యోవాబు, తన సైన్యంతో తిరిగి వచ్చినప్పుడు నేరు కొడుకు అబ్నేరు రాజు దగ్గరికి వచ్చాడనీ, రాజు అతనికి ఆతిథ్యమిచ్చి పంపాడనీ, అతడు శాంతియుతంగా తిరిగి వెళ్ళాడనీ తెలిసికున్నాడు.
24 Then came Joab to the king, and said, What hast thou done? behold, Abner came unto thee: why is it that thou hast dismissed him, that he went freely away?
౨౪అతడు రాజు దగ్గరికి వచ్చి “రాజా విను, నువ్వు చేసిన పనేంటి? అబ్నేరు నీ దగ్గరికి వచ్చినప్పుడు అతణ్ణి ఎందుకు తిరిగి వెళ్లనిచ్చావు?
25 Thou knowest Abner the son of Ner, that to deceive thee did he come, and to know thy going out and thy coming in, and to know all that thou art doing.
౨౫నేరు కొడుకు అబ్నేరు గురించి నీకు తెలీదా? నిన్ను మోసం చేసి నీ ప్రణాళికలూ, నువ్వు చేసే పనులూ తెలుసుకొనేందుకు అతడు వచ్చాడు” అని అన్నాడు.
26 And Joab went out from David, and he sent messengers after Abner, who brought him back from the well of Sirah; but David knew it not.
౨౬అతడు దావీదు దగ్గర నుండి బయలుదేరి అబ్నేరును వెనక్కి పిలిపించడానికి మనుషులను పంపాడు. వారు వెళ్లి సిరా అనే బావి దగ్గర నుండి అతణ్ణి వెనక్కి తీసుకు వచ్చారు. అతడు తిరిగి వచ్చిన సంగతి దావీదుకు తెలీదు.
27 And when Abner was returned to Hebron, Joab took him aside in the gate to speak with him in private; and he smote him there under the fifth rib, and he died, for the blood of 'Asahel his brother.
౨౭అబ్నేరు తిరిగి హెబ్రోనుకు వచ్చినప్పుడు యోవాబు “విషయాలు ఎవరికీ వినబడకుండా రహస్యంగా మాట్లాడాలి” అని చెప్పి అతణ్ణి ద్వారం దగ్గరికి ఏకాంతంగా తీసుకు వచ్చాడు. అక్కడ తన సోదరుడు అశాహేలు ప్రాణం తీసినందుకు ప్రతీకారంగా అబ్నేరును కడుపులో పొడిచి చంపేశాడు.
28 And when David heard it afterward, he said, I and my kingdom are guiltless before the Lord for ever of the blood of Abner the son of Ner:
౨౮ఆ తరువాత ఈ సంగతి దావీదుకు తెలిసి అతడు ఈ విధంగా అనుకున్నాడు “నేనూ, నా రాజ్యమూ నేరు కొడుకు అబ్నేరు ప్రాణం తీసిన విషయంలో యెహోవా దృష్టికి ఎప్పటికీ నిరపరాధులమే.
29 May it rest on the head of Joab, and on all his father's house; and may there not fail from the house of Joab one that hath an issue, or that is a leper, or that leaneth on a crutch, or that falleth by the sword, or that lacketh bread.
౨౯ఈ దోషం యోవాబు మీదా, అతని తండ్రి సంతానమంతటి మీదా నిలుస్తుంది గాక. యోవాబు సంతానంలో గాయాలు ఉన్నవారు, కుష్టురోగులు, ముసలివారు, కత్తి చేత హతమయ్యేవారు, తిండి లేనివారు తప్పక ఉంటారు గాక” అన్నాడు.
30 But Joab and Abishai his brother slew Abner, because he had killed their brother 'Asahel at Gib'on in the battle.
౩౦ఆ విధంగా యోవాబు, అతని సోదరుడు అబీషై, గిబియోను యుద్ధంలో అబ్నేరు తమ సోదరుడు అశాహేలును చంపిన దానికి ప్రతీకారం తీర్చుకున్నారు.
31 And David said to Joab, and to all the people that were with him, Rend your clothes, and gird yourselves with sackcloth, and [go] mourning before Abner. And king David walked behind the bier.
౩౧దావీదు “మీ బట్టలు చింపుకుని గోనెపట్ట కట్టుకుని అబ్నేరు శవం ముందు నడుస్తూ విలపించండి” అని యోవాబుకు, అతనితో ఉన్నవారికందరికీ ఆజ్ఞ ఇచ్చాడు.
32 And they buried Abner in Hebron: and the king lifted up his voice, and wept at the grave of Abner; and all the people wept.
౩౨రాజు కూడా స్వయంగా పాడె వెంట నడిచాడు. వారు అబ్నేరును హెబ్రోనులో పాతిపెట్టినప్పుడు రాజు అబ్నేరు సమాధి దగ్గర బిగ్గరగా ఏడ్చాడు. అక్కడ సమకూడిన వారంతా ఏడ్చారు.
33 And the king lamented over Abner, and said, O, that Abner had to die, as the worthless dieth!
౩౩రాజు అబ్నేరును గూర్చి ఒక విలాప గీతం పాడాడు,
34 Thy hands were not bound, and thy feet were not put into fetters: as one falleth before men of wickedness art thou fallen. And all the people wept again over him.
౩౪“అబ్నేరూ, నీచుడైన ఒక మనిషి చనిపోయినట్టు నువ్వు చనిపోయావే. నీ చేతులకు గాయాలు లేకుండా, నీ కాళ్లకు సంకెళ్లు వేయకుండా, అక్రమం చేసేవాడి ముందు ఒకడు పడినట్టు నువ్వు పడిపోయావు గదా.” రాజు ఈ విధంగా గీతం గొంతెత్తి పాడినప్పుడు ప్రజలంతా విని, ఇంకా ఎక్కువగా ఏడ్చారు.
35 And all the people came to cause David to eat food while it was yet day; but David swore, saying, So do God to me, and thus may he continue, if before the sun be down I taste bread, or the least else.
౩౫ఇంకా రాత్రి కాకముందు ప్రజలు దావీదు దగ్గరికి వచ్చి ఏమైనా తినమని అతణ్ణి బతిమిలాడారు. దావీదు “సూర్యుడు అస్తమించక ముందు నేను ఏదైనా ఆహారం తీసుకొంటే దేవుడు నాకు ఎంతో కీడు కలిగిస్తాడుగాక” అని ఒట్టు పెట్టుకున్నాడు.
36 And all the people took notice of it, and it was pleasing in their eyes: as whatsoever the king did was pleasing in the eyes of all the people.
౩౬ప్రజలంతా ఈ విషయం తెలుసుకుని సంతోషించారు. ఇప్పటి వరకూ రాజు చేసినదంతా ప్రజల దృష్టికి అంగీకారమైనట్టు ఇది కూడా వారి దృష్టికి అంగీకారమయ్యింది.
37 And all the people and all Israel understood on that day that it had not been of the king to slay Abner the son of Ner.
౩౭నేరు కొడుకు అబ్నేరు హత్య రాజు పథకం ప్రకారం చేయించింది కాదని ఆ రోజున ఇశ్రాయేలు వారికందరికీ తెలిసింది.
38 And the king said unto his servants, Know ye not that a prince and a great man hath fallen this day in Israel?
౩౮తరువాత రాజు తన సేవకులను పిలిచి వారితో ఇలా అన్నాడు. “ఈ రోజు చనిపోయిన వాడు ఇశ్రాయేలు వారిలో ముఖ్యమైన వాడనీ ప్రధానుల్లో ఒకడనీ మీకు తెలిసే ఉంటుంది.
39 And I am this day yet weak, and just anointed king; and these men, the sons of Zeruyah, are too strong for me: may the Lord pay the doer of evil according to his wickedness.
౩౯పట్టాభిషేకం అయిన నేను ఈ రోజు బలం లేనివాడినయ్యాను. సెరూయా కొడులైన ఈ వ్యక్తులు నాకంటే బలమైనవారు. వారు చేసిన దుష్టకార్యాలను బట్టి వారు కీడు చేసిన ప్రకారం యెహోవా వారికి ప్రతీకారం చేస్తాడు గాక.”
