2 Samuel 24
1 And again was the anger of the Lord kindled against Israel, and he incited David against them to say, Go, number Israel and Judah.
Misilaub pag-usab ang kasuko ni Yahweh batok sa Israel, ug gitandog niya si David nga mobatok kanila nga nag-ingon, “Lakaw, ipha ang Israel ug ang Juda.”
2 And the king said to Joab the captain of the army, who was with him, Traverse, I pray thee, all the tribes of Israel, from Dan even to Beer-sheba', and number ye the people, that I may know the number of the people.
Ang hari miingon kang Joab ang labaw sa kasundalohan, nga uban kaniya, “Lakaw ngadto sa tanang mga tribo sa Israel, gikan sa Dan ngadto sa Berseba, ug ipha ang tanang katawhan, aron masayran ko ang gidaghanon sa kalalakin-an nga angay sa pagpakiggubat.”
3 Then said Joab unto the king, Now may the Lord thy God add unto the people, how many soever they be, a hundred-fold more, and may the eyes of my Lord the king see it; but why doth my Lord the king find delight in this thing?
Miingon si Joab sa hari, “Hinaot padaghanon ni Yahweh nga imong Dios ang katawhan ngadto sa gatusan ka pilo, ug hinaot nga ang mga mata sa akong agalon ang hari makakita niini nga mahimutang. Apan ngano nga ang akong agalon nga hari buot niini?”
4 Nevertheless the king's word remained firm against Joab, and against the captains of the army: and Joab and the captains of the army went out from the presence of the king, to number the people of Israel.
Bisan pa man, ang pulong sa hari hugot na batok kang Joab ug batok sa mga komandante sa kasundalohan. Busa si Joab ug ang mga komandante sa kasundalohan mibiya sa presenya sa hari aron iphon ang katawhan sa Israel.
5 And they passed over the Jordan, and encamped in 'Aro'er, on the right side of the city that lieth in the midst of the valley of Gad, and toward Ya'zer:
Mitabok sila sa Jordan ug nagkampo duol sa Aroer, sa habagatan sa walog sa siyudad. Unya mipanaw sila latas sa Gad paingon ngadto sa Jaser.
6 Then they came to Gil'ad, and to the land of Tachtimchodshi; and they came to Dan-ya'an, and about to Zidon;
Nahiabot sila sa Gilead ug ngadto sa Tatim Hodsi, unya ngadto sa Dan Jaan ug palibot paingon sa Sidon.
7 And they came to the strong-hold of Tyre, and to all the cities of the Hivites, and of the Canaanites; and they went out to the south of Judah, up to Beer-sheba'.
Nahiabot sila sa taguanan sa Tiro ug ang tanan nga siyudad sa Hibihanon ug sa taga-Canaan. Unya miadto sila sa Negeb sa Juda didto sa Berseba.
8 And so they traversed all the land, and they came at the end of nine months and twenty days to Jerusalem.
Sa dihang natapos na nila sa pag-adto ang tibuok kayutaan, mibalik sila sa Jerusalem human sa siyam ka bulan ug 20 ka mga adlaw.
9 And Joab gave up the sum of the number of the people unto the king: and there were in Israel eight hundred thousand valiant men that drew the sword; and the men of Judah were five hundred thousand men.
Unya gitaho ni Joab ngadto sa hari ang gidaghanon sa kalalakin-an nga makiggubat. Adunay mga 800, 000 ka maisogon nga kalalakin-an sa Israel ang nag-ibot sa espada, ug ang kalalakin-an sa Juda mga 500, 000 ka mga kalalakin-an.
10 And David's heart smote him after that he had numbered the people. And David said unto the Lord, I have sinned greatly in what I have done; and now, I beseech thee, O Lord, cause the iniquity of thy servant to pass away; for I have acted very foolishly.
Unya nasubo ang kasingkasing ni David human niya maihap ang kalalakin-an. Busa miingon siya kang Yahweh, “Nakasala ako ug dako pinaagi sa pagbuhat niini. Karon, Yahweh, kuhaa ang sala sa imong alagad, kay nagbuhat ako ug hilabihang pagpakabuang.”
11 And when David was arisen in the morning, The word of the Lord came unto Gad the prophet, David's seer, saying,
Sa dihang mibangon si David sa kabuntagon, miabot ang pulong ni Yahweh ngadto kang propeta Gad, ang mananagna ni David, nga nag-ingon,
12 Go and speak unto David, Thus hath said the Lord, Three things do I offer thee: choose for thyself one of them, and I will do it unto thee.
“Lakaw ug sultihi si David: Mao kini ang gisulti ni Yahweh: “Hatagan ko ikaw ug tulo ka pilianan. Pagpili ug usa kanila.'''''
13 So Gad came to David, and told it unto him; and he said unto him, Shall there come unto thee seven years of famine in thy land? or three months, that thou flee before thy enemies, while they pursue thee? or that there be for three days a pestilence in thy land? now consider and see what word I shall bring back to him that hath sent me.
Busa miadto si Gad kang David ug miingon kaniya, “Aduna bay tulo ka tuig nga kagutom ang moabot kanimo sa imong yuta? O moikyas ka sulod sa tulo ka bulan gikan sa imong mga kaaway samtang mogukod sila kanimo? O adunay tulo ka adlaw nga katalagman sa imong yuta? Karon paghukom kung unsa ang tubag nga akong ibalik ngadto kaniya nga maoy nagpadala kanako.”
14 And David said unto Gad, I am in a great strait: let us fall then into the hand of the Lord, —for his mercies are great; but let me not fall into the hand of man.
Unya miingon si David ngadto kang Gad, “Ania ako sa lawom nga kasamok. Mas maayo pa nga mangapukan kami sa kamot ni Yahweh kaysa sa mga kamot sa tawo, kay dako kaayo ang iyang maluluy-on nga mga buhat.”
15 And the Lord sent a pestilence in Israel from the morning even to the time appointed: and there died of the people from Dan even to Beer-sheba' seventy thousand men.
Busa nagpadala si Yahweh ug katalagman sa Israel gikan sa buntag hangtod sa gitagal nga takna, ug 70, 000 sa katawhan ang nangamatay gikan sa Dan ngadto sa Berseba.
16 And when the angel stretched out his hand over Jerusalem to destroy it, the Lord bethought himself of the evil, and said to the angel that destroyed among the people, It is enough: now stay thy hand. And the angel of the Lord was by the threshingfloor of Aravnah the Jebusite.
Sa dihang gituy-od sa anghel ang iyang kamot ngadto sa Jerusalem aron sa paglaglag niini, nausab ang hunahuna ni Yahweh tungod sa kadaot nga mahimo niini, ug miingon siya ngadto sa anghel nga milaglag sa mga tawo, “Sakto na! Karon bakwia ang imong kamot.” Niadtong higayona ang anghel ni Yahweh nagbarog sa giokanan ug trigo ni Arauna nga Jebusihanon.
17 And David spoke unto the Lord when he saw the angel that smote among the people, and said, Lo, I have indeed sinned, and I have truly done wickedly; but these sheep, what have they done? let thy hand, I pray thee, be against me, and against my father's house.
Unya nakigsulti si David kang Yahweh sa dihang nakita niya ang anghel nga misulong sa katawhan, ug miingon, “Nakasala ako, ug sukwahi ang akong gibuhat. Apan kining mga karnero, unsa man ang ilang nabuhat? Palihog siloti ako sa imong kamot ug ang pamilya sa akong amahan!”
18 And Gad came to David on that day, and said unto him, Go up, erect an altar unto the Lord on the threshing-floor of Aravnah the Jebusite.
Unya miabot si Gad nianang adlawa ug miingon ngadto kaniya, “Tungas ug pagbuhat ug halaran alang kang Yahweh didto sa giokanan ug trigo ni Arauna ang Jebusihanon.”
19 And David went up, according to the word of Gad, as the Lord had commanded.
Busa mitungas si David sumala sa gisugo ni Gad nga iyang pagabuhaton, sama sa gisugo ni Yahweh.
20 And Aravnah looked up, and saw the king and his servants coming on toward him: and Aravnah went out, and bowed himself before the king with his face to the ground.
Midungaw si Arauna ug nakita niya nga nagpadulong ang hari ug ang iyang mga sulugoon. Busa misugat si Arauna ug mihapa sa yuta ngadto sa hari.
21 And Aravnah said, Wherefore is my Lord the king come to his servant? And David said, To buy from thee the threshingfloor, to build an altar unto the Lord, that the plague may be stayed from the people.
Unya miingon si Arauna, “Nganong mianhi man kanako ang akong agalon nga hari, sa iyang sulugoon?” Mitubag si David, “Aron paliton ang imong giokanan sa trigo, aron akong pagatukoran ug halaran alang kang Yahweh, aron nga ang katalagman matangtang gikan sa katawhan.”
22 And Aravnah said unto David, Let my Lord the king take and offer up what seemeth good in his eyes: behold, the oxen are here for burnt-offerings, and the threshing rollers and the harness of the oxen for wood.
Miingon si Arauna ngadto kang David, “Kuhaa kini ingon nga imoha akong agalon nga hari. Buhata kini kung unsa ang maayo sa imong panan-aw. Tan-awa, ania ang baka alang sa halad sinunog ug balsa sa paggiok ug ang mga yugo aron isugnod.
23 All these things did Aravnah, [for] the king, give unto the king. And Aravnah said unto the king, May the Lord thy God receive thee favorably.
Ang tanan niini, akong hari, ako si Arauna, maghatag kanimo.” Unya miingon siya ngadto sa hari, “Hinaot nga dawaton ka ni Yahweh.”
24 And the king said unto Aravnah, No; but I will surely buy it from thee at the value; for I will not offer burnt-offerings unto the Lord my God without paying therefor. So David bought the threshing-floor and the oxen for fifty shekels of silver.
Miingon ang hari ngadto kang Arauna, “Dili, paliton ko kini sa kantidad. Dili ako mohalad ug halad sinunog ngadto kang Yahweh ug bisan unsang butang nga wala nako bayari.” Busa gipalit ni David ang giokanan ug trigo ug ang baka sa 50 ka sekel nga plata.
25 And David built there an altar unto the Lord, and offered burnt-offerings and peace-offerings: and the Lord was entreated for the land, and the plague was stayed from Israel.
Nagtukod si David ug halaran alang kang Yahweh didto ug naghalad niini sa mga halad sinunog ug mga halad sa pakigdait. Busa nangamuyo sila kang Yahweh alang sa yuta, ug gipahunong niya ang katalagman sa tibuok Israel.
