< 2 Samuel 22 >

1 And David spoke unto the Lord the words of this song, and on the day that the Lord had delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul.
Bere a Awurade gyee Dawid fii nʼatamfo nyinaa ne Saulo nsam akyi no, ɔtoo saa dwom yi de yii Awurade ayɛ.
2 And he said, Lord, my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer;
Nsɛm a ɛwɔ dwom no mu ni: “Awurade yɛ me botan, mʼaban ne mʼagyenkwa;
3 God, my rock, in whom I trust; my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour! from violence dost thou save me!
me Nyankopɔn yɛ me botan; ne mu na minya guankɔbea. Ɔyɛ me kyɛm, me nkwagye mu ahoɔden, mʼabandennen, mʼagyenkwa, nea ogye me fi basabasayɛ mu.
4 Praised, I cried, be the Lord, and from my enemies was I saved.
“Misu frɛ Awurade; ɔno na ayeyi sɛ no, efisɛ ogye me fi mʼatamfo nsam.
5 For the waves of death encompassed me, the floods of destruction made me afraid;
Owu asorɔkye twaa me ho hyiae; ɔsɛe yiri faa me so.
6 The bonds of hell encircled me, the snares of death seized on me: (Sheol h7585)
Ɔda mu hama kyekyeree me; mihyiaa owu mfiri. (Sheol h7585)
7 [When] in my distress I called upon the Lord, and to my God I cried; and he heard from his temple my voice, and my complaint [entered] into his ears.
“Na mʼamanehunu mu no, misu frɛɛ Awurade. Yiw, mefrɛɛ me Nyankopɔn pɛɛ mmoa. Ɔtee me nne fii ne kronkronbea. Me sufrɛ duu nʼasom.
8 Then shook and trembled the earth; the foundations of the heavens were moved; and they shook, because he was wroth.
Na asase wosowee na ehinhimii; ɔsoro fapem wosowee; wɔwosowee, nʼabufuw nti.
9 Smoke went up in his anger, and consuming fire out of his mouth, coals flamed forth from him.
Wusiw fii ne hwene mu; ogyaframa fii nʼanom; na nnyansramma dɛw fii mu.
10 And he bent the heavens, and came down, and thick darkness was under his feet.
Ofii ɔsoro baa fam; na omununkum kabii duruu nʼanan ase.
11 And he rode upon a cherub, and flew along, and he was seen upon the wings of the wind.
Ɔte kerubim so tui; gyaagyaa ne ho wɔ mframa ntaban so.
12 And he made darkness round about him into pavilions, heavy masses of waters, thick clouds of the skies.
Ɔde sum kataa ne ho hyiae, ɔde osu mununkum dii nʼanim kan.
13 From the brightness before him flamed forth coals of fire.
Hann kɛse hyerɛn wɔ nʼanim, na anyinam pa fii mu.
14 The Lord thundered from heaven, and the Most High uttered forth his voice.
Awurade bobɔɔ mu fi ɔsoro; Ɔsorosoroni no teɛɛ mu dennen.
15 And he sent out arrows, and scattered them; lightning, and discomfited them.
Ɔtow nʼagyan maa nʼatamfo hwetee; anyinam twa ma wɔyɛɛ basaa.
16 And then were seen the channels of the sea, there were laid open the foundations of the world; at the rebuke of the Lord, through the blast of the breath of his nostrils.
Awurade kasae, na wiase nnyinaso no nyinaa daa hɔ. Wotumi huu ɛpo ase, na asase fapem ho daa hɔ.
17 He stretched out from above [his hand], he took me; he drew me out from the mighty waters.
“Ofi ɔsoro baa fam besoo me mu; ɔtwee me fii asu a emu dɔ mu.
18 He delivered me from my enemy, the strong, from those that hated me, when they were too mighty for me.
Ogyee me fii mʼatamfo a wɔyɛ den nsam, atamfo a wokyi me na wɔn ho yɛ den pa ara sen me.
19 They overcame me on the day of my calamity; but the Lord became my stay;
Wɔbaa me so wɔ mʼamanehunu da, nanso Awurade pagyaw me.
20 And he brought me forth into a large space: he delivered me, because he had delight in me.
Ɔde me baa baabi a bammɔ wɔ; ogyee me, efisɛ nʼani kum me ho.
21 The Lord rewarded me according to my righteousness: according to the purity of my hands did he recompense me.
“Awurade atua me papayɛ so ka; me bem a midi no, wahyɛ me anan mu.
22 For I had kept the ways of the Lord, and had not wickedly departed from my God.
Efisɛ manantew Awurade akwan so; mentwee me ho mfii me Nyankopɔn ho nkɔyɛɛ bɔne.
23 For all his ordinances were before me, and from none of his statutes did I depart.
Ne mmara nyinaa gu mʼanim; mentwee me ho mfii ne nhyehyɛe ho.
24 I was also upright toward him, and I guarded myself against my iniquity.
Me ho nni asɛm wɔ Onyankopɔn anim; matwe me ho afi bɔne ho.
25 Therefore did the Lord recompense me according to my righteousness, according to my purity before his eyes.
Awurade tuaa me papayɛ so ka, efisɛ minni fɔ wɔ nʼanim.
26 With the kind thou wilt show thyself kind; with the upright mighty man thou wilt show thyself upright.
“Woda wo ho adi sɛ ɔnokwafo kyerɛ wɔn a wodi nokware, wɔn a wodi mu nso wo kyerɛ wɔn sɛ wodi mu.
27 With the pure thou wilt show thyself pure; and with the perverse thou wilt wage a contest.
Wuyi wo kronkronyɛ kyerɛ ɔkronkronni, nanso amumɔyɛfo de wukyi wɔn.
28 And the afflicted people thou wilt save; but thy eyes are upon the haughty, [that] thou mayest bring [them] down.
Wugye ahobrɛasefo, nanso wʼani kɔ ahantanfo so sɛ wobɛbrɛ wɔn ase.
29 For thou art my lamp, O Lord! and the Lord will enlighten my darkness.
Wo Awurade, woyɛ me kanea. Yiw, Awurade woma me sum dan hann.
30 For [aided] by thee I run through a troop: [helped] by my God I leap over a wall.
Wʼahoɔden mu, metumi aka asraafokuw agu; me Nyankopɔn nti, mitumi foro ɔfasu.
31 As for God—his way is perfect; the word of the Lord is tried; he is a shield to all that trust in him.
“Onyankopɔn de, nʼakwan yɛ pɛ; Awurade bɔhyɛ nyinaa ba mu. Ɔyɛ nkatabo ma wɔn a wɔhwehwɛ bammɔ wɔ ne mu.
32 For who is God, save the Lord? and who is a rock, save our God?
Hena ne Onyankopɔn, gye sɛ Awurade? Hena ne ɔbotantim no, gye sɛ yɛn Nyankopɔn?
33 God is my strength and power; and he rendereth free from obstruction my way.
Onyankopɔn ne mʼaban a ɛyɛ den; wagye me, na wama me kwan so ayɛ pɛ.
34 He maketh my feet like those of the hinds, and upon my high places he causeth me to stand.
Ɔma mʼanammɔn ho yɛ hare sɛ ɔforote de; Ɔma me gyina sorɔnsorɔmmea.
35 He teaches my hands for the war, so that a brazen bow is bent by my arms.
Osiesie me ma ɔko; na me basa tumi kuntun kɔbere mfrafrae tadua.
36 And thou gavest me the shield of thy salvation; and thy assistance hath made me great.
Woama me wo nkwagye kyɛm. Wo mmoa ama mayɛ ɔkɛse.
37 Thou enlargest my steps under me, so that my joints do not slip.
Woabɔ kwan tɛtrɛɛ ama mʼanan sɛnea me nkotodwe rengurow.
38 I pursue my enemies and destroy them; and I return not again until I have made an end of them.
“Metaa mʼatamfo sɛee wɔn; mannyina kosii sɛ wodii nkogu.
39 And I make an end of them, and I crush them, that they cannot rise; and they fall under my feet.
Meyam wɔn, mebɔɔ wɔn hwee fam, na wɔantumi ansɔre; wɔhwehwee ase wɔ mʼanan ase.
40 For thou hast girded me with strength for the war; thou subduest my opponents under me.
Wohyɛɛ me ahoɔden maa ɔko; woaka mʼatamfo ahyɛ mʼanan ase.
41 And my enemies thou causest to turn their back to me; those that hate me, —that I may destroy them.
Womaa wɔdan wɔn ani guanee, na mesɛe wɔn a wɔtan me nyinaa.
42 They look about, but there is none to help; unto the Lord—but he answereth them not.
Wosu pɛɛ mmoa, nanso obiara ammegye wɔn. Wosu frɛɛ Awurade, nanso wannye wɔn so.
43 And I beat them small as the dust of the earth; as the mire of the street, I stamp them, I tread them down.
Meyam wɔn ma wɔyɛɛ sɛ asase so mfutuma; mepraa wɔn guu suka mu sɛ wura.
44 Thou hast also delivered me from the contests of my people: thou preservest me to be the head of nations, a people which I know not shall serve me.
“Womaa me nkonimdi wɔ wɔn a wɔbɔ me kwaadu so. Woahwɛ sɛ mɛyɛ amanaman sodifo; na nnipa a minnim wɔn som me.
45 The children of the stranger shall utter flattery unto me; as soon as their ear heareth they shall be obedient unto me.
Ananafo brɛ wɔn ho ase ma me; wɔte me nka pɛ ara a, wɔde wɔn ho ma me.
46 The children of the stranger shall fade away, and come forth tottering out of their close places.
Wɔn nyinaa bɔ huboa, na wɔde ahopopo fi wɔn nsraban mu ba.
47 The Lord liveth, and blessed be my Rock; and exalted be the God, the Rock of my salvation;
“Awurade te ase! Ayeyi nka me botan, ma wɔmma Onyankopɔn, me nkwagye botan so.
48 The God, that granteth me vengeance, and bringeth down nations under me;
Ɔno ne Onyankopɔn a ɔtɔ wɔn a wɔhaw me so were; ɔka amanaman no hyɛ mʼase
49 And that bringeth me forth from my enemies: also above my opponents thou liftest me up, from the man of violence thou deliverest me.
na ogye me fi mʼatamfo nsam. Wode me si baabi a mʼatamfo nnu, wugye me fi atutuwpɛfo a wotia me nsam.
50 Therefore will I give thanks unto thee, O Lord, among the nations, and unto thy name will I sing praises;
Awurade eyi nti, mɛkamfo wo wɔ amanaman mu, Ao Awurade. Mɛto ayeyi dwom ama wo din.
51 [To] the tower of salvation of his king, and who showeth kindness to his anointed, to David and to his seed forever.
“Wode nkonimdi akɛse ama wo hene; woda ɔdɔ a ɛnsa da adi kyerɛ nea woasra no ngo, wode kyerɛ Dawid, ne nʼasefo afebɔɔ.”
