2 Kings 21
1 Twelve years old was Menasseh when he became king, and fifty and five years did he reign in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Chephzi-bah.
Manasse war zwölf Jahre alt, da er König ward, und regierete fünfundfünfzig Jahre zu Jerusalem. Seine Mutter hieß Hephzi-Bah.
2 And he did what is evil in the eyes of the Lord, after the abominable acts of the nations whom the Lord had driven out before the children of Israel.
Und er tat, das dem HERRN übel gefiel, nach den Greueln der Heiden, die der HERR vor den Kindern Israel vertrieben hatte.
3 And he built up again the high-places which Hezekiah his father had destroyed; and he reared up altars for Ba'al, and made a grove, as Achab the king of Israel had done; and he bowed down to all the host of heaven, and served them.
Und verkehrete sich und bauete die Höhen, die sein Vater Hiskia hatte abgebracht, und richtete Baal Altäre auf und machte Haine, wie Ahab, der König Israels, getan hatte, und betete an allerlei Heer am Himmel und dienete ihnen.
4 And he built altars in the house of the Lord, of which the Lord had said, In Jerusalem will I put my name.
Und bauete Altäre im Hause des HERRN, davon der HERR gesagt hatte: Ich will meinen Namen zu Jerusalem setzen.
5 And he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of the Lord.
Und er bauete allen Heeren am Himmel Altäre, in beiden Höfen am Hause des HERRN.
6 And he caused his son to pass through the fire, and observed times, and used enchantments, and dealt with familiar spirits and wizards: he wrought much that is evil in the eyes of the Lord, to provoke him to anger.
Und ließ seinen Sohn durchs Feuer gehen und achtete auf Vogelgeschrei und Zeichen und hielt Wahrsager und Zeichendeuter; und tat des viel, das dem HERRN übel gefiel, damit er ihn erzürnete.
7 And he set a hewn image of the Asherah that he had made in the house, of which the Lord had said to David, and to Solomon his son, In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all tribes of Israel, will I put my name for ever:
Er setzte auch einen Haingötzen, den er gemacht hatte, in das Haus, von welchem der HERR zu David und zu Salomo, seinem Sohn, gesagt hatte: In diesem Hause und zu Jerusalem, die ich erwählet habe aus allen Stämmen Israels, will ich meinen Namen setzen ewiglich,
8 And I will not cause any more the foot of Israel to move out of the land which I gave their fathers; only if they will observe to act in accordance with all that I have commanded them, and in accordance with all the law that my servant Moses commanded them.
und will den Fuß Israels nicht mehr bewegen lassen vom Lande, das ich ihren Vätern gegeben habe, so doch, so sie halten und tun nach allem, das ich geboten habe, und nach allem Gesetz, das mein Knecht Mose ihnen geboten hat.
9 But they hearkened not: and Menasseh seduced them to do what is evil more than the nations whom the Lord had destroyed before the children of Israel.
Aber sie gehorchten nicht, sondern Manasse verführete sie, daß sie ärger taten denn die Heiden, die der HERR vor den Kindern Israel vertilget hatte.
10 And the Lord spoke by means of his servants the prophets, saying,
Da redete der HERR durch seine Knechte, die Propheten und sprach:
11 Forasmuch as Menasseh the king of Judah hath done these abominations, having done wickedly more than all that the Emorites had done, who were before him, and hath induced Judah also to sin with his idols:
Darum daß Manasse, der König Judas, hat diese Greuel getan, die ärger sind denn alle Greuel, so die Amoriter getan haben, die vor ihm gewesen sind, und hat auch Juda sündigen gemacht mit seinen Götzen,
12 Therefore thus hath said the Lord the God of Israel, Behold, I will bring evil upon Jerusalem and Judah, at which both the ears of every one that heareth it shall tingle.
darum spricht der HERR, der Gott Israels, also: Siehe, ich will Unglück über Jerusalem und Juda bringen, daß, wer es hören wird, dem sollen seine beiden Ohren gellen.
13 And I will stretch over Jerusalem the measure-line of Samaria, and the plummet of the house of Achab: and I will wipe off Jerusalem as one wipeth off a dish, wiping it, and turning it on its face.
Und will über Jerusalem die Meßschnur Samarias ziehen und das Gewicht des Hauses Ahab; und will Jerusalem ausschütten, wie man Schüsseln ausschüttet, und will sie umstürzen.
14 And I will forsake the remnant of my inheritance, and give them up into the hand of their enemies; and they shall become a prey and a spoil to all their enemies;
Und ich will etliche meines Erbteils überbleiben lassen und sie geben in die Hände ihrer Feinde, daß sie ein Raub und Reißen werden aller ihrer Feinde,
15 Forasmuch as they have done what is evil in my eyes, and have been provoking me to anger, from the day that their fathers came forth out of Egypt, even until this day.
darum daß sie getan haben, das mir übel gefällt, und haben mich erzürnet von dem Tage an, da ihre Väter aus Ägypten gezogen sind, bis auf diesen Tag.
16 And also innocent blood did Menasseh shed in very great abundance, till he had filled [therewith] Jerusalem from one end to another; beside his sin wherewith he induced Judah to sin, to do what is evil in the eyes of the Lord.
Auch vergoß Manasse sehr viel unschuldig Blut, bis daß Jerusalem hie und da voll ward; ohne die Sünde, damit er Juda sündigen machte, daß sie taten, das dem HERRN übel gefiel.
17 Now the rest of the acts of Menasseh, and all that he did, and his sin that he committed, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah.
Was aber mehr von Manasse zu sagen ist, und alles, was er getan hat, und seine Sünde, die er tat, siehe, das ist geschrieben in der Chronik der Könige Judas.
18 And Menasseh slept with his fathers, and was buried in the garden of his own house, in the garden of 'Uzza: and Amon his son became king in his stead.
Und Manasse entschlief mit seinen Vätern und ward begraben im Garten an seinem Hause, nämlich im Garten Usas. Und sein Sohn Amon ward König an seiner Statt.
19 Twenty and two years old was Amon when he became king, and two years did he reign in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Meshullemeth, the daughter of Charuz of Yotbah.
Zweiundzwanzig Jahre alt war Amon, da er König ward, und regierete zwei Jahre zu Jerusalem. Seine Mutter hieß Mesulemeth, eine Tochter Haruz von Jatba.
20 And he did what is evil in the eyes of the Lord, as his father Menasseh had done.
Und tat, das dem HERRN übel gefiel, wie sein Vater Manasse getan hatte,
21 And he walked in all the way that his father had walked in, and served the idols that his father had served, and bowed himself down to them;
und wandelte in allem Wege, den sein Vater gewandelt hatte, und dienete den Götzen, welchen sein Vater gedienet hatte, und betete sie an.
22 And he forsook the Lord the God of his fathers, and walked not in the way of the Lord.
Und verließ den HERRN, seiner Väter Gott, und wandelte nicht im Wege des HERRN.
23 And the servants of Amon conspired against him, and put the king to death in his own house.
Und seine Knechte machten einen Bund wider Amon und töteten den König in seinem Hause.
24 And the people of the land slew all those that had conspired against king Amon; and the people of the land made Josiah his son king in his stead.
Aber das Volk im Lande schlug alle, die den Bund gemacht hatten wider den König Amon. Und das Volk im Lande machte Josia, seinen Sohn, zum Könige an seiner Statt.
25 Now the rest of the acts of Amon which he did, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah.
Was aber Amon mehr getan hat, siehe, das ist geschrieben in der Chronik der Könige Judas.
26 And they buried him in his sepulchre in the garden of 'Uzza: and Josiah his son became king in his stead.
Und man begrub ihn in seinem Grabe, im Garten Usas. Und sein Sohn Josia ward König an seiner Statt.
