2 Kings 17
1 In the twelfth year of Achaz the king of Judah became Hoshea' the son of Elah king in Samaria over Israel, [for] nine years.
No ano duodécimo de Achaz, rei de Judá, começou a reinar Hoseas, filho de Ela, e reinou sobre Israel, em Samaria, nove anos.
2 And he did what is evil in the eyes of the Lord, but not like the kings of Israel that were before him.
E fez o que parecia mal aos olhos do Senhor, contudo não como os reis de Israel que foram antes dele.
3 Against him came up Shalmanesser, the king of Assyria; and Hoshea' became his servant, and rendered him tribute.
Contra ele subiu Salmanasar, rei da Assyria: e Hoseas ficou sendo servo dele, e pagava-lhe presentes.
4 And the king of Assyria discovered a conspiracy on Hoshea'; for he had sent messengers to So the king of Egypt, and had raised no tribute for the king of Assyria, as [before] year by year; and the king of Assyria made him prisoner, and shut him up in a prison-house.
Porém o rei da Assyria achou em Hoseas conspiração; porque enviara mensageiros a So, rei do Egito, e não pagava presentes ao rei da Assyria cada ano, como de antes: então o rei d'Assyria o encerrou e aprisionou na casa do cárcere.
5 And the king of Assyria came up over all the land, and went up to Samaria, and besieged it three years.
Porque o rei da Assyria subiu por toda a terra, e veio até Samaria, e a cercou três anos.
6 In the ninth year of Hoshea' did the king of Assyria capture Samaria, and he led Israel away as exiles into Assyria, and settled them in Chalach and in Chabor by the river of Gozan, and in the cities of Media.
No ano nono de Hoseas, o rei da Assyria tomou a Samaria, e transportou a Israel para a Assyria: e fê-los habitar em Halah, e em Habor, junto ao rio de Gozan, e nas cidades dos medos.
7 This took place, because the children of Israel had sinned against the Lord their God, who had brought them up out of the land of Egypt, from under the hand of Pharaoh the king of Egypt, and had feared other gods,
Porque sucedeu, que os filhos de Israel pecaram contra o Senhor seu Deus, que os fizera subir da terra do Egito, de debaixo da mão de faraó, rei do Egito; e temeram a outros deuses,
8 And had walked in the customs of the nations whom the Lord had driven out from before the children of Israel, and in those of the kings of Israel, which they had made.
E andaram nos estatutos das nações que o Senhor lançara fora de diante dos filhos de Israel, e nos dos reis de Israel, que eles fizeram.
9 And [because] the children of Israel had secretly done things that are not right against the Lord their God, and had built themselves high-places in all their cities, from the tower of the watchmen up to fortified cities;
E os filhos de Israel fizeram secretamente coisas que não eram retas, contra o Senhor seu Deus; e edificaram altos em todas as suas cidades, desde a torre das atalaias até à cidade forte.
10 And had set themselves up statues and groves on every high hill, and under every green tree;
E levantaram estátuas e imagens do bosque, em todos os altos outeiros, e debaixo de todas as árvores verdes.
11 And had burnt there incense on all the high-places, like the nations that the Lord had led away exiles before them; and wrought wicked things to provoke the Lord to anger;
E queimaram ali incenso em todos os altos, como as nações, que o Senhor transportara de diante deles: e fizeram coisas ruins, para provocarem à ira o Senhor.
12 And had served the idols, whereof the Lord had said unto them, Ye shall not do this thing.
E serviram os ídolos, dos quais o Senhor lhes dissera: Não fareis estas coisas.
13 The Lord had indeed warned Israel and Judah, by means of all the prophets, all the seers, saying, Turn ye back from your evil ways, and keep my commandments [and] my statutes, in accordance with all the law which I commanded your fathers, and which I have sent to you by means of my servants the prophets.
E o Senhor protestou a Israel e a Judá, pelo ministério de todos os profetas e de todos os videntes, dizendo: Converte-os de vossos maus caminhos, e guardai os meus mandamentos e os meus estatutos, conforme toda a lei que ordenei a vossos pais e que eu vos enviei pelo ministério de meus servos, os profetas.
14 But they would not hear, and hardened their neck, like the neck of their fathers, who had not believed in the Lord their God;
Porém não deram ouvidos; antes endureceram a sua cerviz, como a cerviz de seus pais, que não creram no Senhor seu Deus.
15 And they despised his statutes, and his covenant which he had made with their fathers, and his testimonies which he had entrusted to them; and they followed after what is vanity, and became vain, and followed after the nations that were round about them, concerning whom the Lord had charged them, not to do like them.
E rejeitaram os seus estatutos, e o seu concerto, que fizera com seus pais, como também os seus testemunhos, com que protestara contra ele: e andaram após a vaidade, e ficaram vãos; como também após as nações, que estavam em roda deles, das quais o Senhor lhes tinha ordenado que não fizessem como elas
16 And they forsook all the commandments of the Lord their God, and made themselves molten images, two calves, and made a grove, and bowed down to all the host of the heavens, and served Ba'al;
E deixaram todos os mandamentos do Senhor seu Deus, e fizeram imagens de fundição, dois bezerros: e fizeram um ídolo do bosque, e se prostraram perante todo o exército do céu, e serviram a Baal.
17 And they caused their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire, and used divinations and enchantments, and sold themselves to do what is evil in the eyes of the Lord, to provoke him to anger.
Também fizeram passar pelo fogo a seus filhos e suas filhas, e deram-se a adivinhações, e criam em agouros; e venderam-se para fazer o que parecia mal aos olhos do Senhor, para o provocarem à ira.
18 Therefore became the Lord very angry with Israel, and he removed them from his presence: there was none left but the tribe of Judah alone.
Pelo que o Senhor muito se indignou sobre Israel, e os tirou de diante da sua face: nada mais ficou, senão só a tribo de Judá.
19 Also Judah kept not the commandments of the Lord their God, but walked in the customs of Israel which they had made.
Até Judá não guardou os mandamentos do Senhor seu Deus; antes andaram nos estatutos de Israel, que eles fizeram.
20 Therefore did the Lord reject all the seed of Israel, and he afflicted them, and gave them up into the hand of spoilers, until that he had cast them out of his presence.
Pelo que o Senhor rejeitou a toda a semente de Israel, e os oprimiu, e os deu nas mãos dos despojadores, até que os tirou de diante da sua presença.
21 For Israel had torn themselves from the house of David, and they made Jerobo'am the son of Nebat king: and Jerobo'am misled Israel from following the Lord, and caused them to commit a great sin;
Porque rasgou a Israel da casa de David, e fizeram rei a Jeroboão, filho de Nebat: e Jeroboão apartou a Israel de após o Senhor, e os fez pecar um grande pecado.
22 And the children of Israel walked in all the sins of Jerobo'am which he did; they departed not therefrom.
Assim andaram os filhos de Israel em todos os pecados de Jeroboão, que tinha feito: nunca se apartaram deles.
23 Until that the Lord removed Israel out of his presence, as he had spoken by means of all his servants the prophets; and Israel was led away as exiles out of their own land to Assyria even until this day.
Até que o Senhor tirou a Israel de diante da sua presença, como falara pelo ministério de todos os seus servos, os profetas: assim foi Israel transportado da sua terra a Assyria até ao dia de hoje.
24 And the king of Assyria brought [men] from Babylon, and from Cuthah, and from 'Avva, and from Chamath, and from Sepharvayim, and settled them in the cities of Samaria in the room of the children of Israel: and they took possession of Samaria, and dwelt in its cities.
E o rei da Assyria trouxe gente de Babel, e de Cutha, e de Ava, e de Hamath e Sefarvaim, e a fez habitar nas cidades de Samaria, em lugar dos filhos de Israel: e tomaram a Samaria em herança, e habitaram nas suas cidades.
25 And it happened at the beginning of their dwelling there, that they feared not the Lord; wherefore the Lord sent among them lions, which slew some of them.
E sucedeu que, no princípio da sua habitação ali, não temeram ao Senhor: e mandou entre eles o Senhor leões, que mataram a alguns deles.
26 And they said to the king of Assyria, as followeth, The nations that thou hast led away, and settled in the cities of Samaria, know not the manner of the God of the land; wherefore he hath sent among them lions, and, behold, they are slaying them, since they know not the manner of the God of the land.
Pelo que falaram ao rei da Assyria, dizendo: A gente que transportaste, e fizeste habitar nas cidades de Samaria, não sabe o costume do Deus da terra: pelo que mandou leões entre elas, e eis que os matam, porquanto não sabem o culto do Deus da terra.
27 Then commanded the king of Assyria, saying, Carry thither one of the priests whom ye led away from there; and let them go and dwell there, and let him teach them the manner of the God of the land.
Então o rei d'Assyria mandou dizer: levai ali um dos sacerdotes que transportastes de lá; e vão-se, e habitem lá: e ele lhes ensine o costume do Deus da terra.
28 And there came one of the priests whom they had led away as exiles from Samaria, and dwelt in Beth-el; and he taught them how they should fear the Lord.
Veio pois um dos sacerdotes que transportaram de Samaria, e habitou em Bethel, e lhes ensinou como deviam temer ao Senhor.
29 Yet they made, every nation, their own gods; and they put them in the houses of the high-places which the Samaritans had made, every nation in their cities wherein they dwelt.
Porém cada nação fez os seus deuses, e os puseram nas casas dos altos que os samaritanos fizeram, cada nação nas suas cidades, nas quais habitavam.
30 And the men of Babylon made Succoth-benoth, and the men of Cuth made Neregal, and the men of Chamath made Ashima.
E os de Babel fizeram Succoth-benoth; e os de Cutha fizeram Nergal; e os de Hamath fizeram Asima.
31 And the 'Avvites made Nibchaz and Tharthak, and the Sepharvites burnt their children in fire to 'Adrammelech and 'Anammelech, the gods of Sepharvayim.
E os aveus fizeram Nibha e Tartak: e os sepharvitas queimavam seus filhos a fogo, a Adram-melech, e a Anam-melech, deuses de Sepharvaim.
32 And they feared [also] the Lord; and they made unto themselves of the lowest of them priests of the high-places, and these sacrificed for them in the houses of the high-places.
Também temiam ao Senhor: e dos mais baixos se fizeram sacerdotes dos lugares altos, os quais lhes faziam o ministério nas casas dos lugares altos.
33 The Lord did they fear, and their own gods did they serve, after the manner of the nations whence they had been led away.
Assim que ao Senhor temiam, e também a seus deuses serviam, segundo o costume das nações dentre as quais transportaram aquelas.
34 Even until this day do they act after the former manners: they fear not the Lord, neither do they act after their own customs, and after their manner, nor after the law and after the commandment which the Lord commanded the children of Israel, whose name he styled Israel;
Até ao dia de hoje fazem segundo os primeiros costumes: não temem ao Senhor, nem fazem segundo os seus estatutos, e segundo as suas ordenanças, e segundo a lei, e segundo o mandamento que o Senhor ordenou aos filhos de Jacob, a quem deu o nome de Israel.
35 With whom the Lord had made a covenant, and charged them, saying, Ye shall not fear other gods, nor bow yourselves down to them, nor serve them, nor sacrifice to them;
Contudo o Senhor tinha feito um concerto com eles, e lhes ordenara, dizendo: Não temereis a outros deuses, nem vos inclinareis diante deles, nem os servireis, nem lhes sacrificareis.
36 But the Lord, who hath brought you up out of the land of Egypt with great might and with an outstretched arm, him alone shall ye fear, and to him shall ye bow yourselves down, and to him shall ye sacrifice;
Mas o Senhor, que vos fez subir da terra do Egito com grande força e com braço estendido, a este temereis, e a ele vos inclinareis, e a ele sacrificareis.
37 And the statutes, and the ordinances, and the law, and the commandment, which he hath written for you, shall ye observe to do for all time; and ye shall not fear other gods.
E os estatutos, e as ordenanças, e a lei, e o mandamento, que vos escreveu, tereis cuidado de fazer todos os dias: e não temereis a outros deuses.
38 And the covenant that I have made with you shall ye not forget; and ye shall not fear other gods.
E do concerto que fiz convosco vos não esquecereis: e não temereis a outros deuses.
39 But the Lord your God shall ye fear; and he will deliver you out of the hand of all your enemies.
Mas ao Senhor vosso Deus temereis, e ele vos livrará das mãos de todos os vossos inimigos.
40 Nevertheless they have not hearkened, but they act after their former manner.
Porém eles não ouviram; antes fizeram segundo o seu primeiro costume.
41 So were these nations, while they feared the Lord, also serving their graven images; and both their children and their children's children do until this day as their fathers have done.
Assim estas nações temiam ao Senhor e serviam as suas imagens de escultura: também seus filhos, e os filhos de seus filhos, como fizeram seus pais, assim fazem eles até ao dia de hoje.
