2 Kings 11
1 And when 'Athalyah the mother of Achazyahu saw that her son was dead, she arose and destroyed all the seed royal.
Cuando Atalía, madre de Ocozías, vio que su hijo había muerto, se levantó y destruyó toda la descendencia real.
2 But Yehosheba', the daughter of king Joram, the sister of Achazyahu, took Joash the son of Achazyahu, and stole him away from among the king's sons that were slain, him and his nurse into the bed-chamber: and they hid him from 'Athalyah, so that he was not slain.
Pero Josheba, hija del rey Joram, hermana de Ocozías, tomó a Joás, hijo de Ocozías, y lo robó de entre los hijos del rey que habían sido asesinados, a él y a su nodriza, y los puso en la alcoba; y lo escondieron de Atalía, para que no lo mataran.
3 And he was with her in the house of the Lord hidden for six years, while 'Athalyah was reigning over the land.
Estuvo con ella escondido en la casa de Yahvé seis años, mientras Atalía reinaba sobre el país.
4 And in the seventh year Yehoyada' sent and fetched the rulers over the hundreds, of the guards and the runners, and brought them to him into the house of the Lord, and made a covenant with them, and made them swear in the house of the Lord, and showed them the king's son.
En el séptimo año, Joiada envió a buscar a los capitanes de centenares de caritas y de la guardia, y los trajo a él a la casa de Yahvé; e hizo con ellos un pacto, y les mostró al hijo del rey.
5 And he commanded them, saying, This is the thing that ye shall do: A third part of you that enter in on the sabbath shall even be keeping watch in the king's house;
Les ordenó, diciendo: “Esto es lo que debéis hacer: un tercio de vosotros, los que entréis en sábado, seréis guardianes de la guardia de la casa del rey;
6 And a third part shall be at the gate of Sur; and a third part at the gate behind the runners; so shall ye keep watch at the house, as a defence.
un tercio de vosotros estará en la puerta Sur, y un tercio de vosotros en la puerta detrás de la guardia. Así vigilaréis la casa, y seréis una barrera.
7 And two parts of you all that are relieved on the sabbath, even they shall keep watch in the house of the Lord about the king.
Los dos grupos de ustedes, todos los que salen el sábado, mantendrán la guardia de la casa de Yahvé alrededor del rey.
8 And ye shall encompass the king round about, every man with his weapons in his hand; and he that cometh within the ranges shall be put to death: and be ye with the king when he goeth out and when he cometh in.
Rodead al rey, cada uno con sus armas en la mano; y el que se acerque a las filas, que lo maten. Estad con el rey cuando salga y cuando entre”.
9 And the captains over the hundreds did in accordance with all that Yohayada' the priest had commanded: and they took every man his men that came in on the sabbath, with those that were to be relieved on the sabbath, and came to Yehoyada' the priest.
Los capitanes de centenas hicieron todo lo que ordenó el sacerdote Joiada, y cada uno tomó a sus hombres, los que debían entrar en sábado con los que debían salir en sábado, y vinieron al sacerdote Joiada.
10 And the priest gave to the captains over the hundred the spears and shields that had belonged to king David, that were in the house of the Lord.
El sacerdote entregó a los capitanes de más de cien años las lanzas y los escudos que habían sido del rey David y que estaban en la casa de Yahvé.
11 And the runners stood every man with his weapons in his hand, from the right side of the house to the left side of the house, by the altar and within, round about the king.
La guardia se puso en pie, cada uno con sus armas en la mano, desde el lado derecho de la casa hasta el lado izquierdo, junto al altar y la casa, alrededor del rey.
12 And he brought forth the king's son, and put the crown upon him, and [gave him] the testimony, and they made him king, and anointed him; and they clapped their hands, and said, Long live the king.
Entonces sacó al hijo del rey, le puso la corona y le dio la alianza; lo proclamaron rey y lo ungieron, y aplaudieron y dijeron: “¡Viva el rey!”
13 And when 'Athalyah heard the noise of the runners [and] of the people, she came to the people in the house of the Lord.
Cuando Atalía oyó el ruido de la guardia y del pueblo, se acercó al pueblo a la casa de Yahvé;
14 And she looked, and, behold, the king stood upon a stand, according to custom, and the princes and the trumpeters were by the king, and all the people of the land were rejoicing, and blowing with trumpets: and 'Athalyah then rent her clothes, and cried, Conspiracy! conspiracy!
y miró, y he aquí que el rey estaba de pie junto a la columna, como era la tradición, con los capitanes y las trompetas junto al rey; y todo el pueblo del país se alegró y tocó las trompetas. Entonces Atalía se rasgó las vestiduras y gritó: “¡Traición! Traición!”
15 But Yehoyada' the priest commanded the captains of the hundreds, the commanders of the army, and said unto them, Lead her forth to within the ranges: and him that followeth her put to death with the sword. For the priest had said, She shall not be slain in the house of the Lord.
El sacerdote Joiada ordenó a los capitanes de centenas que estaban al mando del ejército y les dijo: “Sáquenla entre las filas. Maten a espada a cualquiera que la siga”. Porque el sacerdote dijo: “No dejen que la maten en la casa de Yahvé”.
16 And they made way for her; and she went by the way of the entrance of the horses into the king's house: and she was put to death there.
Así que la apresaron, y se fue por el camino de la entrada de los caballos a la casa del rey, y allí la mataron.
17 And Yehoyada' made a covenant between the Lord and between the king and between the people, that they should be a people unto the Lord; and between the king and between the people.
Joiada hizo un pacto entre Yahvé y el rey y el pueblo, para que fueran pueblo de Yahvé; también entre el rey y el pueblo.
18 And then came all the people of the land into the house of Ba'al, and pulled it down: his altars and his images they broke in pieces thoroughly, and Mattan the priest of Ba'al they slew before the altars. And the priest appointed superintendents over the house of the Lord.
Todo el pueblo del país fue a la casa de Baal y la derribó. Rompieron a fondo sus altares y sus imágenes, y mataron a Matán, el sacerdote de Baal, delante de los altares. El sacerdote nombró oficiales sobre la casa de Yahvé.
19 And he took the chiefs over hundreds, and the guards, and the runners, and all the people of the land, and they brought down the king from the house of the Lord, and came by the way of the gate of the runners to the king's house: and he sat on the throne of the kings.
Tomó a los capitanes de centenas, a los caritas, a la guardia y a todo el pueblo del país, y bajaron al rey de la casa de Yahvé, y llegaron por el camino de la puerta de la guardia a la casa del rey. Él se sentó en el trono de los reyes.
20 And all the people of the land rejoiced, and the city was quiet; but 'Athalyah they had slain with the sword at the king's house.
Entonces todo el pueblo del país se alegró, y la ciudad se tranquilizó. Habían matado a Atalía con la espada en la casa del rey.
21 Seven years old was Jehoash when he became king.
Joás tenía siete años cuando comenzó a reinar.
