2 Chronicles 7
1 And when Solomon had made an end of praying, a fire came down from heaven, and consumed the burnt-offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the Lord filled the house.
Agora, quando Salomão terminou de rezar, o fogo desceu do céu e consumiu o holocausto e os sacrifícios; e a glória de Iavé encheu a casa.
2 And the priests were not able to enter into the house of the Lord; because the glory of the Lord had filled the Lord's house.
Os sacerdotes não puderam entrar na casa de Iavé, porque a glória de Iavé encheu a casa de Iavé.
3 And all the children of Israel were looking on as the fire came down, and the glory of the Lord [was resting] upon the house; and they kneeled down with their faces to the ground upon the pavement, and prostrated themselves, and gave thanks unto the Lord, for he is good; because unto everlasting endureth his kindness.
Todas as crianças de Israel olharam, quando o fogo caiu, e a glória de Iavé estava sobre a casa. Eles se curvaram com o rosto no chão no pavimento, adoraram e agradeceram a Iavé, dizendo, “Pois ele é bom, pois sua bondade amorosa perdura para sempre”!
4 And the king and all the people offered sacrifices before the Lord.
Então o rei e todo o povo ofereceram sacrifícios antes de Yahweh.
5 And king Solomon offered a sacrifice of twenty and two thousand oxen, and a hundred and twenty thousand sheep: and so they dedicated the house of God, the king and all the people.
O rei Salomão ofereceu um sacrifício de vinte e duas mil cabeças de gado e uma centena de vinte mil ovelhas. Então o rei e todo o povo dedicaram a casa de Deus.
6 And the priests were standing on their stations, and the Levites with the instruments of the music of the Lord, which king David had made to give thanks unto the Lord, because unto everlasting endureth his kindness, with the song of praise of David in their hand; and the priests blew the trumpets opposite to them, and all Israel were standing.
Os sacerdotes estavam de pé, de acordo com suas posições; os levitas também com instrumentos de música de Iavé, que o rei Davi tinha feito para dar graças a Iavé, quando Davi elogiou por seu ministério, dizendo “Porque sua bondade amorosa perdura para sempre”. Os sacerdotes tocaram trombetas diante deles; e todo Israel permaneceu de pé.
7 And Solomon hallowed the interior of the court that was before the house of the Lord; for he prepared there the burnt-offerings, and the fat of the peace-offerings; because the copper altar which Solomon had made was not able to contain the burnt-offerings, and the meat-offerings, and the fat.
Moreover Salomão fez o meio do tribunal que estava diante da casa de Yahweh santo; pois lá ele ofereceu as ofertas queimadas e a gordura das ofertas pacíficas, porque o altar de bronze que Salomão tinha feito não podia receber a oferta queimada, a oferta de refeição, e a gordura.
8 And Solomon held the feast at that time seven days, and all Israel with him, a very great assembly, from the entrance of Chamath unto the river of Egypt.
Então Salomão realizou a festa naquela época por sete dias, e todo Israel com ele, uma grande assembléia, desde a entrada de Hamath até o riacho do Egito.
9 And they held on the eighth day a solemn assembly; for the dedication of the altar they held seven days, and the feast seven days.
No oitavo dia, eles realizaram uma assembléia solene; pois mantiveram a dedicação do altar por sete dias, e a festa por sete dias.
10 And on the three-and-twentieth day of the seventh month he dismissed the people unto their tents, joyful and glad of heart because of the good that the Lord had done for David, and for Solomon, and for Israel his people.
No vigésimo terceiro dia do sétimo mês, ele enviou o povo para suas tendas, alegre e feliz de coração pela bondade que Iavé havia mostrado a Davi, a Salomão e a Israel, seu povo.
11 Thus did Solomon complete the house of the Lord, and the king's house; and [in] all that came into Solomon's heart to make in the house of the Lord, and in his own house, he prospered.
Thus Salomão terminou a casa de Yahweh e a casa do rei; e completou com sucesso tudo o que veio ao coração de Salomão para fazer na casa de Yahweh e em sua própria casa.
12 Then appeared the Lord to Solomon during the night, and said unto him, I have heard thy prayer, and I have made choice of this place for myself as a house of sacrifice.
Então Yahweh apareceu a Salomão à noite e lhe disse: “Ouvi sua oração, e escolhi este lugar para mim para uma casa de sacrifício.
13 If I shut up the heavens that there be no rain, or if I give a charge to the locusts to devour off the land, or if I send a pestilence among my people:
“Se eu fechar o céu para que não haja chuva, ou se eu mandar o gafanhoto devorar a terra, ou se eu enviar pestes entre meu povo,
14 And if my people, over whom my name is called, do then humble themselves, and pray, and seek my presence, and turn away from their evil ways: then will I also hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
se meu povo, que é chamado pelo meu nome, se humilhar, orar, buscar meu rosto e se converter de seus maus caminhos, então eu ouvirei do céu, perdoarei seu pecado e curarei sua terra.
15 Now, my eyes shall be open, and my ears attentive unto the prayer on this place.
Agora meus olhos estarão abertos e meus ouvidos atentos à oração que é feita neste lugar.
16 And now I have chosen and hallowed this house, that my name may be there for ever; and my eyes and my heart shall be there at all times.
Por agora escolhi e tornei esta casa santa, para que meu nome esteja lá para sempre; e meus olhos e meu coração estarão lá perpetuamente.
17 And as for thee, if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father hath walked, so as to do in accordance with all that I have commanded thee, and wilt keep my statutes and my ordinances:
“Quanto a você, se caminhar diante de mim como caminhou David, seu pai, e fizer de acordo com tudo o que lhe ordenei, e guardar meus estatutos e minhas ordenanças,
18 Then will I establish the throne of thy kingdom, just as I have covenanted with David thy father, saying, There shall never fail thee a man to be ruler in Israel.
então estabelecerei o trono de seu reino, de acordo com a aliança que fiz com David, seu pai, dizendo: “Não lhe faltará um homem para ser o governante em Israel”.
19 But if ye will indeed turn away, and forsake my statutes and my commandments, which I have set before you, and will go and serve other gods, and bow down to them:
Mas se vocês se afastarem e abandonarem meus estatutos e meus mandamentos que eu lhes apresentei, e forem servir a outros deuses e adorá-los,
20 Then will I pluck them up out of my land which I have given unto them; and this house, which I have hallowed for my name, will I cast away from my sight, and I will render it to be for a proverb and for a by-word among all the people.
então eu os arrancarei pelas raízes da minha terra que lhes dei; e esta casa, que eu santificei pelo meu nome, eu a lançarei fora da minha vista, e a farei um provérbio e uma palavra de ordem entre todos os povos.
21 And this house, which hath been so exalted, shall become an astonishment to every one that passeth by it: so that he will say, Why hath the Lord done thus unto this land, and unto this house?
Esta casa, que é tão alta, todos que passarem por ela se espantarão e dirão: 'Por que Javé fez isto a esta terra e a esta casa?'
22 And men shall then say, For the cause that they forsook the Lord the God of their fathers, who had brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, and they took hold of other gods, and bowed down to them, and served them: therefore hath he brought upon them all this evil.
Responderão: 'Porque abandonaram Javé, o Deus de seus pais, que os tirou da terra do Egito, e tomaram outros deuses, os adoraram e os serviram. Por isso ele trouxe todo este mal sobre eles”.
