2 Chronicles 27

1 Twenty and five years old was Jotham when he became king, and sixteen years did he reign in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Yerushah, the daughter of Zadok.

Jotam tenía veinticinco años cuando se convirtió en rey; y reinó en Jerusalén dieciséis años; y el nombre de su madre fue Jerusa, la hija de Sadoc.

2 And he did what is right in the eyes of the Lord, in accordance with all that his father 'Uzziyahu had done: only he entered not into the temple of the Lord. But the people acted still corruptly.

Hizo lo correcto ante los ojos del Señor, como lo había hecho su padre Uzías; pero él no entró en el templo del Señor. Y la gente seguía en su mal camino.

3 He it was that built the upper gate of the house of the Lord, and on the wall of the hill-fort he built much.

Levantó la puerta superior de la casa del Señor e hizo muchos edificios en la pared del Ofel.

4 Moreover he built cities in the mountain of Judah, and in the forests he built castles and towers.

Además, hizo pueblos en las colinas de Judá, y fortalezas y torres fuertes en los bosques.

5 And he likewise fought with the king of the sons of 'Ammon, and prevailed against them. And the children of 'Ammon gave him in that same year one hundred talents of silver, and ten thousand kors of wheat, and ten thousand of barley. So much did the children of 'Ammon pay unto him again, both in the second year, and in the third.

Fue a la guerra con el rey de los hijos de Amón y los venció. Ese año, los hijos de Amón le dieron cien talentos de plata, diez mil medidas de grano y diez mil medidas de cebada. Y los hijos de Amón le dieron la misma cantidad el segundo año y el tercero.

6 So Jotham became strong; because he directed his ways before the Lord his God.

Entonces Jotam se hizo fuerte, porque en todos sus caminos hizo al Señor su guía.

7 And the rest of the acts of Jotham, and all his wars, and his ways, lo, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah.

Ahora, el resto de los hechos de Jotam, y todas sus guerras y sus campañas militares, están registrados en el libro de los reyes de Israel y Judá.

8 Five and twenty years old was he when he became king, and sixteen years did he reign in Jerusalem.

Tenía veinticinco años cuando se convirtió en rey, y estuvo gobernando en Jerusalén durante dieciséis años.

9 And Jotham slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David: and Achaz his son became king in his stead.

Y Jotam murió y lo enterraron en la ciudad de David; Y su hijo Acaz se convirtió en rey en su lugar.
