2 Chronicles 27
1 Twenty and five years old was Jotham when he became king, and sixteen years did he reign in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Yerushah, the daughter of Zadok.
De vinte e cinco anos era Jotão quando começou a reinar, e dezesseis anos reinou em Jerusalém. O nome de sua mãe foi Jerusa, filha de Zadoque.
2 And he did what is right in the eyes of the Lord, in accordance with all that his father 'Uzziyahu had done: only he entered not into the temple of the Lord. But the people acted still corruptly.
E fez o que era correto em olhos do SENHOR, conforme a todas as coisas que havia feito Uzias seu pai, salvo que não entrou no templo do SENHOR. E o povo corrompia-se ainda.
3 He it was that built the upper gate of the house of the Lord, and on the wall of the hill-fort he built much.
Edificou ele a porta maior da casa do SENHOR, e no muro da fortaleza edificou muito.
4 Moreover he built cities in the mountain of Judah, and in the forests he built castles and towers.
Ademais edificou cidades nas montanhas de Judá, e preparou palácios e torres nos bosques.
5 And he likewise fought with the king of the sons of 'Ammon, and prevailed against them. And the children of 'Ammon gave him in that same year one hundred talents of silver, and ten thousand kors of wheat, and ten thousand of barley. So much did the children of 'Ammon pay unto him again, both in the second year, and in the third.
Também teve ele guerra com o rei dos filhos de Amom, aos quais venceu; e deram-lhe os filhos de Amom naquele ano cem talentos de prata, e dez mil coros de trigo, e dez mil de cevada. Isto lhe deram os filhos de Amom, e o mesmo no segundo ano, e no terceiro.
6 So Jotham became strong; because he directed his ways before the Lord his God.
Assim que Jotão foi fortificado, porque preparou seus caminhos diante do SENHOR seu Deus.
7 And the rest of the acts of Jotham, and all his wars, and his ways, lo, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah.
Os demais dos feitos de Jotão, e todas suas guerras, e seus caminhos, eis que estão escrito no livro dos reis de Israel e de Judá.
8 Five and twenty years old was he when he became king, and sixteen years did he reign in Jerusalem.
Quando começou a reinar era de vinte e cinco anos, e dezesseis reinou em Jerusalém.
9 And Jotham slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David: and Achaz his son became king in his stead.
E descansou Jotão com seus pais, e sepultaram-no na cidade de Davi; e reinou em seu lugar Acaz seu filho.
