2 Chronicles 15
1 And as for 'Azaryahu the son of 'Oded—on him came the spirit of God;
Und auf Asarja, den Sohn Odeds, kam der Geist Gottes.
2 And he went out to meet Assa, and said unto him, Hear me, O Assa, and all Judah and Benjamin, The Lord is with you, while ye remain with him; and if ye seek him, he will let himself be found by you; but if ye forsake him, he will forsake you.
Der ging hinaus Assa entgegen und sprach zu ihm: Höret mir zu, Assa und ganz Juda und Benjamin! Der HERR ist mit euch, weil ihr mit ihm seid; und wenn ihr ihn suchet, wird er sich von euch finden lassen; werdet ihr aber ihn verlassen, so wird er euch auch verlassen.
3 And many days [had elapsed] for Israel, [they being] without the true God, and without a teaching priest, and without law.
Es werden aber viel Tage sein in Israel, daß kein rechter Gott, kein Priester, der da lehret, und kein Gesetz sein wird.
4 But they returned when they were in distress unto the Lord, the God of Israel, and they sought him, and he let himself be found by them.
Und wenn sie sich bekehren in ihrer Not zu dem HERRN, dem Gott Israels, und werden ihn suchen, so wird er sich finden lassen.
5 And in those times there was no peace to him that went out, and to him that came in; but there were great confusions among all the inhabitants of the countries.
Zu der Zeit wird's nicht wohlgehen dem, der aus- und eingehet. Denn es werden große Getümmel sein über alle, die auf Erden wohnen.
6 And nation was dashed to pieces against nation, and city against city; for God did confound them with all kind of distress.
Denn ein Volk wird das andere zerschmeißen und eine Stadt die andere; denn Gott wird sie erschrecken mit allerlei Angst.
7 But as for you, be ye strong, and let not your hands be weak; for there is a reward for your doing.
Ihr aber seid getrost und tut eure Hände nicht ab, denn euer Werk hat seinen Lohn.
8 And when Assa heard these words, and the prophecy of 'Oded the prophet, he was strengthened, and he put away the abominable idols out of all the land of Judah and Benjamin, and out of the cities which he had captured from the mountain of Ephraim; and he renewed the altar of the Lord, that was before the porch of the Lord.
Da aber Assa hörete diese Worte und die Weissagung Odeds, des Propheten, ward er getrost und tat weg die Greuel aus dem ganzen Lande Juda und Benjamin und aus den Städten, die er gewonnen hatte auf dem Gebirge Ephraim, und erneuerte den Altar des HERRN, der vor der Halle des HERRN stund.
9 And he assembled all Judah and Benjamin, and those that sojourned with them out of Ephraim and Menasseh, and out of Simeon; for they had joined him out of Israel in abundance, when they saw that the Lord his God was with him.
Und versammelte das ganze Juda und Benjamin und die Fremdlinge bei ihnen aus Ephraim, Manasse und Simeon. Denn es fielen zu ihm aus Israel die Menge, als sie sahen, daß der HERR, sein Gott, mit ihm war.
10 And so they assembled themselves at Jerusalem in the third month, in the fifteenth year of the reign of Assa.
Und sie versammelten sich gen Jerusalem des dritten Monden, im fünfzehnten Jahr des Königreichs Assa,
11 And they sacrificed unto the Lord on the same day, of the booty which they had brought, seven hundred oxen and seven thousand sheep.
und opferten desselben Tages dem HERRN von dem Raube, den sie gebracht hatten, siebenhundert Ochsen und siebentausend Schafe.
12 And they entered into the covenant to seek the Lord the God of their fathers with all their heart and with all their soul;
Und sie traten in den Bund, daß sie suchten den HERRN, ihrer Väter Gott, von ganzem Herzen und von ganzer Seele.
13 So that whosoever would not seek the Lord the God of Israel should be put to death, from the small even up to the great, whether it be man or woman.
Und wer nicht würde den HERRN, den Gott Israels, suchen, sollte sterben, beide klein und groß, beide Mann und Weib.
14 And they swore unto the Lord with a loud voice, and with [joyful] shouting, and with trumpets, and with cornets.
Und sie schwuren dem HERRN mit lauter Stimme, mit Tönen, mit Trommeten und Posaunen.
15 And all Judah rejoiced because of the oath; for with all their heart had they sworn, and with their whole desire did they seek him, and he let himself be found by them: and the Lord gave them rest on every side.
Und das ganze Juda war fröhlich über dem Eide; denn sie hatten geschworen von ganzem Herzen und sie suchten ihn von ganzem Willen, und er ließ sich von ihnen finden; und der HERR gab ihnen Ruhe umher.
16 And also concerning Ma'achah the mother of king Assa, he removed her from being queen, because she had made a scandalous image for the grove; and Assa cut down her scandalous image, and had it ground up, and burnt it by the brook Kidron.
Auch setzte Assa, der König, ab Maecha, seine Mutter, vom Amt, das sie gestiftet hatte im Hain Miplezeth. Und Assa rottete ihren Miplezeth aus und zerstieß ihn und verbrannte ihn im Bach Kidron.
17 But the high-places were not removed out of Israel; nevertheless the heart of Assa was entire all his days.
Aber die Höhen in Israel wurden nicht abgetan; doch war das Herz Assas rechtschaffen sein Leben lang.
18 And be brought the things which his father had sanctified, and his own sanctified things, into the house of God, —silver, and gold, and vessels.
Und er brachte ein, was sein Vater geheiliget und was er geheiliget hatte, ins Haus Gottes, Silber, Gold und Gefäße.
19 And there was no war until the five-and-thirtieth year of the reign of Assa.
Und es war kein Streit bis in das fünfunddreißigste Jahr des Königreichs Assas.
