2 Chronicles 13
1 In the eighteenth year of king Jerobo'am became Abiyah king over Judah.
೧ಅರಸನಾದ ಯಾರೊಬ್ಬಾಮನ ಆಳ್ವಿಕೆಯ ಹದಿನೆಂಟನೆಯ ವರ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಬೀಯನು ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಾಗಿ,
2 Three years he reigned in Jerusalem: and his mother's name was Michayahu the daughter of Uriel of Gib'ah. And there was war between Abiyah and Jerobo'am.
೨ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಮೂರು ವರ್ಷ ಆಳಿದನು; ಗಿಬೆಯದ ಊರೀಯೇಲನ ಮಗಳಾದ ಮೀಕಾಯ ಎಂಬಾಕೆಯು ಅಬೀಯನ ತಾಯಿ. ಇವನಿಗೂ ಯಾರೊಬ್ಬಾಮನಿಗೂ ಯುದ್ಧ ನಡೆಯಿತು.
3 And Abiyah joined the battle with an army of valiant men of war, even of four hundred thousand chosen men: Jerobo'am also set the battle in array against him with eight hundred thousand chosen men, being mighty men of valor.
೩ಅಬೀಯನು ನಾಲ್ಕು ಲಕ್ಷ ಮಂದಿ ಯುದ್ಧವೀರರನ್ನು ಆರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದು ಯುದ್ಧ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿದನು; ಯಾರೊಬ್ಬಾಮನೂ ಎಂಟು ಲಕ್ಷ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠರಾದ ಭಟರೊಡನೆ ಅವನಿಗೆ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ಬಂದು ವ್ಯೂಹಕಟ್ಟಿದನು.
4 And Abiyah stood up above mount Zemarayim, which is in the mountain of Ephraim, and said, Hear me, O Jerobo'am, and all Israel;
೪ಆಗ ಅಬೀಯನು ಎಫ್ರಾಯೀಮ್ ಪರ್ವತಪ್ರದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಚೆಮಾರೈಮ್ ಎಂಬ ಬೆಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತು, “ಯಾರೊಬ್ಬಾಮನೇ, ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರೇ, ನನ್ನ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿರಿ.
5 Ought ye not to know that the Lord the God of Israel hath given the kingdom over Israel to David for eternity, yea, to him and to his sons by a covenant of salts?
೫ಯೆಹೋವನು ಉಪ್ಪಿನ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆಯಿಂದ ದಾವೀದನಿಗೂ ಅವನ ಸಂತಾನದವರಿಗೂ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಮೇಲೆ ಶಾಶ್ವತವಾದ ಅರಸುತನವನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾನೆಂದು ನಿಮಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತಿಲ್ಲವೋ?
6 But there rose up Jerobo'am the son of Nebat, the servant of Solomon the son of David, and rebelled against his lord.
೬ಹೀಗಿದ್ದರೂ ದಾವೀದನ ಮಗನಾದ ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನ ಸೇವೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ನೆಬಾಟನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯಾರೊಬ್ಬಾಮನು ಎದ್ದು ತನ್ನ ದಣಿಗೆ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ತಿರುಗಿ ಬಿದ್ದನು.
7 And there were gathered unto him idle men, worthless persons, and put themselves in violent resistance against Rehobo'am the son of Solomon: while Rehobo'am was young and tender hearted, and could not sustain himself before them.
೭ಕಾಕಪೋಕರೂ ದುಷ್ಟರೂ ಆಗಿರುವ ಜನರು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕೂಡಿಕೊಂಡರು. ಆ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಎಳೇಪ್ರಾಯದವನೂ, ಮೃದುಸ್ವಭಾವವುಳ್ಳವನೂ, ತಮ್ಮೆದುರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಲ್ಲಲಾರದವನೂ ಆದ ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನ ಮಗ ರೆಹಬ್ಬಾಮನನ್ನು ಇವರು ಪ್ರತಿಭಟಿಸಿ ಬಲಗೊಂಡರು.
8 And now ye think to sustain yourselves before the kingdom of the Lord in the hand of the sons of David; and ye are a great multitude; and with you are golden calves, which Jerobo'am hath made for you as gods.
೮ಈಗ ನೀವು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಗುಂಪಾಗಿ ಇರುವುದರಿಂದ ಹಾಗು ಯಾರೊಬ್ಬಾಮನು ನಿಮಗೆ ದೇವರುಗಳೆಂದು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಟ್ಟ ಬಂಗಾರದ ಹೋರಿ ಕುರಿಗಳ ಮೂರ್ತಿಗಳು ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿರುವುದರಿಂದ, ದಾವೀದನ ಸಂತಾನದವರ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಯೆಹೋವನ ರಾಜ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ನಿಂತು ಗೆಲ್ಲಬಹುದೆಂದು ನೆನಸುತ್ತೀರೋ?
9 Have ye not cast out the priests of the Lord, the sons of Aaron, and the Levites, and have made yourselves priests like the people of the [various] lands? so that whosoever cometh to consecrate himself with a young bullock and seven rams can become a priest to things that are no gods?
೯ನೀವು ಯೆಹೋವನ ಯಾಜಕರಾದ ಆರೋನನ ಸಂತಾನದವರನ್ನೂ, ಲೇವಿಯರನ್ನೂ ಓಡಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟು ಅನ್ಯದೇಶಗಳವರಂತೆ ನಿಮಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಪೂಜಾರಿಗಳನ್ನು ನೇಮಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೀರಿ; ತಾನು ಪೂಜಾರಿಯಾಗಿ ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠಿತನಾಗಬೇಕೆಂದು ಒಂದು ಎಳೇ ಹೋರಿಯನ್ನೂ, ಏಳು ಟಗರುಗಳನ್ನೂ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬನೂ ದೇವರಲ್ಲದವುಗಳಿಗೆ ಪೂಜಾರಿಯಾದನಷ್ಟೆ.
10 But as for us, the Lord is our God, and we have not forsaken him; and the priests, who minister unto the Lord, are the sons of Aaron; and the Levites are at their [appointed] work;
೧೦ನಮಗಾದರೋ ಯೆಹೋವನು ದೇವರಾಗಿರುತ್ತಾನೆ; ನಾವು ಆತನನ್ನು ಬಿಡಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಯೆಹೋವನ ಆರಾಧನೆ ನಡೆಸಲು ಆರೋನನ ಸಂತಾನದವರಾದ ಯಾಜಕರೂ, ತಮಗೆ ನೇಮಕವಾದ ಕೆಲಸದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿರತರಾದ ಲೇವಿಯರೂ ನಮಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
11 And they burn unto the Lord burnt-offerings every morning and every evening and incense of sweet spices; and the rows of the show-bread [do they place] upon the pure table; and there is the candlestick of gold with its lamps, to light the same every evening; for we keep the charge of the Lord our God, while ye have truly forsaken him.
೧೧ಈ ಯಾಜಕರು ಪ್ರತಿದಿನ ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ ಹಾಗು ಸಾಯಂಕಾಲ ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಸರ್ವಾಂಗಹೋಮಗಳನ್ನು ಸಮರ್ಪಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಸುಗಂಧದ್ರವ್ಯ ಧೂಪವನ್ನು ಹಾಕುತ್ತಾ ಶುದ್ಧ ಬಂಗಾರದ ಮೇಜಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ನೈವೇದ್ಯವಾದ ರೊಟ್ಟಿಗಳನ್ನಿಡುತ್ತಾ ಪ್ರತಿ ಸಾಯಂಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಂಗಾರದ ದೀಪಸ್ತಂಭದ ದೀಪಗಳನ್ನು ಹಚ್ಚುತ್ತಾ ಇರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಹೀಗೆ ನಾವು ನಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಕಟ್ಟಳೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕೈಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೇವೆ; ನೀವಾದರೋ ಆತನನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟವರು.
12 And, behold, with us at our head, is the [true] God, with his priests with trumpets for blowing the alarm, to sound an alarm against you. O children of Israel, do not fight against the Lord the God of your fathers; for ye will not prosper.
೧೨ಇಗೋ, ದೇವರು ನಾಯಕನಾಗಿ ನಮ್ಮೊಂದಿಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ; ನಿಮಗೆ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ಅರ್ಭಟದಿಂದ ಊದತಕ್ಕ ತುತ್ತೂರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದಿರುವ ಯಾಜಕರೂ ನಮ್ಮೊಂದಿಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರೇ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನೊಡನೆ ಯುದ್ಧ ಮಾಡಬೇಡಿರಿ, ನೀವು ಜಯಿಸಲಾರಿರಿ” ಎಂದು ಕೂಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದನು.
13 But Jerobo'am caused an ambush to come around behind them: so they themselves were before Judah, and the ambush was behind them.
೧೩ಯಾರೊಬ್ಬಾಮನು ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರ ಹಿಂದೆ ಹೊಂಚು ಹಾಕುವುದಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ತನ್ನ ಸೈನ್ಯದ ಒಂದು ಗುಂಪನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು. ಹೀಗೆ ಸೈನ್ಯವು ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರ ಎದುರಿನಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಹೊಂಚುಹಾಕುವರು ಅವರ ಹಿಂದೆಯೂ ಇದ್ದರು.
14 And when Judah turned round, behold, they had the battle before and behind: and they cried unto the Lord, and the priests blew with the trumpets.
೧೪ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರು ತಿರುಗಿಕೊಂಡು ತಮ್ಮ ಮುಂದೆಯೂ ಹಿಂದೆಯೂ ಯುದ್ಧ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾಗಿರುವುದನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೆ ಮೊರೆಯಿಟ್ಟರು, ಯಾಜಕರು ತುತ್ತೂರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಊದಿದರು.
15 And then gave the men of Judah a shout: and it came to pass, as the men of Judah shouted, that God struck down Jerobo'am and all Israel before Abiyah and Judah.
೧೫ಅನಂತರ ಜನರು ಆರ್ಭಟಿಸಿದರು. ಅವರು ಆರ್ಭಟಿಸಿದ ಕೂಡಲೆ ಯೆಹೋವನಾದ ದೇವರು ಯಾರೊಬ್ಬಾಮನನ್ನೂ, ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರನ್ನೂ ಅಬೀಯನಿಂದಲೂ ಹಾಗೂ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರಿಂದಲೂ ಅಪಜಯಗೊಳಿಸಿದನು.
16 And the children of Israel fled from before Judah, and God gave them up into their hand.
೧೬ಹೀಗಾಗಿ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರ ಎದುರಿನಿಂದ ಓಡಿಹೋದರು. ಯೆಹೋವನಾದ ದೇವರು ಅವರನ್ನು ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರ ಕೈಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದನು.
17 And Abiyah and his people smote them with a great defeat, and there fell down slain of Israel five hundred thousand chosen men.
೧೭ಅಬೀಯನೂ ಅವನ ಜನರೂ ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಅನೇಕರನ್ನು ಸಂಹರಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟರು. ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಭಟರಲ್ಲಿ ಹತರಾಗಿ ಬಿದ್ದವರು ಐದು ಲಕ್ಷ ಮಂದಿ.
18 Thus were the children of Israel humbled at that time: and the children of Judah became powerful, because they relied upon the Lord the God of their fathers.
೧೮ಹೀಗೆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ಆ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ತಗ್ಗಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟರು; ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರು ತಮ್ಮ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನಲ್ಲಿ ಭರವಸವಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಜಯಶಾಲಿಗಳಾದರು.
19 And Abiyah made pursuit after Jerobo'am, and captured cities from him, Bethel with its villages, and Jeshanah with its villages, and 'Ephrayin with its villages.
೧೯ಅಬೀಯನು, ಯಾರೊಬ್ಬಾಮನನ್ನು ಹಿಂದಟ್ಟಿ, ಅವನಿಂದ ಬೇತೇಲ್, ಯೆಷಾನಾ, ಎಪ್ರೋನ್ ಎಂಬ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳನ್ನೂ ಅವುಗಳಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿದ ಗ್ರಾಮಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕಿತ್ತುಕೊಂಡನು.
20 And Jerobo'am did not recover strength again in the days of Abiyahu: and the Lord struck him, and he died.
೨೦ಯಾರೊಬ್ಬಾಮನು ಅಬೀಯನ ಜೀವಮಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ತಿರುಗಿ ಬಲಗೊಳ್ಳಲೇ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಯೆಹೋವನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಬಾಧಿಸಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವನು ಸತ್ತನು.
21 But Abiyahu became strong, and he took himself fourteen wives, and begat twenty and two sons, and sixteen daughters.
೨೧ಅಬೀಯನು ಬಲಗೊಂಡನು; ಅವನು ಹದಿನಾಲ್ಕು ಮಂದಿ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯರಿಂದ ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತೆರಡು ಮಂದಿ ಗಂಡುಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನೂ ಹದಿನಾರು ಮಂದಿ ಹೆಣ್ಣುಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನೂ ಪಡೆದನು.
22 And the rest of the acts of Abiyah, and his ways, and his speeches, are written in the writing of the prophet 'Iddo.
೨೨ಅಬೀಯನ ಉಳಿದ ಚರಿತ್ರೆಯೂ ಅವನ ನಡೆನುಡಿಗಳೂ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯಾದ ಇದ್ದೋವಿನ ಚರಿತ್ರೆ ಪುಸ್ತಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆದಿರುತ್ತವೆ.
