2 And it came to pass, when Jerobo'am the son of Nebat heard of it, for he was in Egypt, whither he had fled from the presence of king Solomon, that Jerobo'am returned out of Egypt.

4 Thy father made our yoke hard; but now do thou make lighter the hard service of thy father, and his heavy yoke which he put upon us, and we will serve thee.
Te vaengah, “Na pa loh kaimih kah hnamkun he khak a siing coeng dae na pa mangkhak kah thothuengnah neh a hnamkun a rhih kaimih soah a tloeng te hlawt mai lamtah nang taengah ka tho ka tat bitni,” a ti nauh.

10 Then spoke with him the young men that were grown up with him, saying, Thus must thou say unto the people that have spoken unto thee, saying, Thy father made our yoke heavy, but do thou make it lighter unto us: thus must thou say unto them, My little finger is thicker than my father's loins.
Te dongah anih te amah neh aka pantai camoe rhoek loh a voek tih, “Pilnam te he he thui pah, amih a nang taengah aka cal uh tih, 'Na pa loh kaimih kah hnamkun he a siing dae namah loh kaimih dong lamkah he hlawt laeh,’ aka ti uh. Amih te, 'Kai kah kutca he a pa kah cinghen lakah putsut pueng.

15 And the king hearkened not unto the people; for it was so brought about from God, in order that the Lord might fulfill his word, which he had spoken by means of Achiyahu the Shilonite unto Jerobo'am the son of Nebat.

18 Then sent king Rehobo'am Hadoram who was over the tribute; but the children of Israel stoned him with stones, that he died. Therefore king Rehobo'am made speed with his might to get upon his chariot, to flee to Jerusalem.
