1 Samuel 9
1 Now there was a man of Benjamin, whose name was Kish, the son of Abiel, the son of Zeror, the son of Bechorath, the son of Aphiach, the son of a Benjamite, a mighty man of valor.
௧பென்யமீன் கோத்திரத்தார்களில் கீஸ் என்னும் பெயருள்ள, செல்வாக்குள்ள ஒரு மனிதன் இருந்தான்; அவன் பென்யமீன் கோத்திரத்தானாகிய அபியாவின் மகனான பெகோராத்திற்குப் பிறந்த சேரோரின் மகனான அபீயேலின் மகன்.
2 And he had a son whose name was Saul, young and handsome; and there was not a man among the children of Israel handsomer than he: from his shoulders and upward he was taller than any of the people.
௨அவனுக்குச் சவுல் என்னும் பெயருள்ள மிகவும் அழகான வாலிபனான ஒரு மகன் இருந்தான்; இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களில் அவனை விட அழகுள்ளவன் இல்லை; எல்லா மக்களும் அவனுடைய தோளிற்கு கீழ் இருந்தனர். இவன் அவர்களை விட உயரமுள்ளவனாயிருந்தான்.
3 And there were lost the asses belonging to Kish, Saul's father; and Kish said to Saul his son, Do take with thee one of the servants, and arise, go seek the asses.
௩சவுலின் தகப்பனான கீசுடைய கழுதைகள் காணாமல்போனது; ஆகையால் கீஸ் தன் மகனான சவுலைப் பார்த்து: நீ வேலைக்காரர்களில் ஒருவனைக் கூட்டிக்கொண்டு, கழுதைகளைத் தேட, புறப்பட்டுப்போ என்றான்.
4 And he passed through the mountain of Ephraim, and passed through the land of Shalisha, but they found [them] not; then they passed through the land of Sha'alim, and there was nothing there; and he passed through the land of Benjamin, but they found them not.
௪அப்படியே அவன் எப்பிராயீம் மலைகளையும் சலீஷா நாட்டையும் கடந்துபோனான்; அங்கே அவைகளைக் காணாமல் சாலீம் நாட்டைக் கடந்தார்கள். அங்கேயும் காணவில்லை; பென்யமீன் நாட்டைக் கடந்தும் அவைகளைக் காணவில்லை.
5 When they were come in the land of Zuph, Saul said to his servant that was with him, Come, and let us return; lest my father relinquish the care for the asses, and become anxious for us.
௫அவர்கள் சூப் என்னும் நாட்டிற்கு வந்தபோது, சவுல் தன்னோடிருந்த வேலைக்காரனை நோக்கி: என் தகப்பன், கழுதைகளின் மேலுள்ள கவலையை விட்டு, நமக்காகக் கவலைப்படாதபடித் திரும்பிப்போவோம் வா என்றான்.
6 And the other said unto him, Behold now, a man of God is in this city, and the man is honored; all that he ever saith will surely come to pass: now let us go thither; perhaps he can tell us our way that we should go.
௬அதற்கு அவன்: இதோ, இந்தப் பட்டணத்திலே தேவனுடைய மனிதன் ஒருவர் இருக்கிறார்; அவர் பெரியவர்; அவர் சொல்லுகிறதெல்லாம் தப்பாமல் நடக்கும்; அங்கே போவோம்; ஒரு வேளை அவர் நாம் போகவேண்டிய நம்முடைய வழியை நமக்குத் தெரிவிப்பார் என்றான்.
7 Then said Saul to his servant, But, behold, if we should go, what shall we bring to the man? for the bread is spent out of our vessels, and there is not a present to bring to the man of God: what have we with us?
௭அப்பொழுது சவுல் தன்னுடைய வேலைக்காரனைப் பார்த்து: நாம் போனாலும் அந்த மனிதனுக்கு என்ன கொண்டுபோவோம்; நம்முடைய பைகளில் இருந்த தின்பண்டங்கள் செலவழிந்து போனது; தேவனுடைய மனிதனாகிய அவருக்குக் கொண்டு போவதற்குரிய காணிக்கை நம்மிடத்தில் ஒன்றும் இல்லையே என்றான்.
8 And the servant answered Saul again, and said, Behold, I have here in my hand the fourth part of a shekel of silver; and I will give this to the man of God, that he may tell us our way.
௮அந்த வேலைக்காரன் மறுபடியும் சவுலைப் பார்த்து: இதோ, என் கையில் இன்னும் கால்சேக்கல் வெள்ளியிருக்கிறது; தேவனுடைய மனிதன் நமக்கு நம்முடைய வழியை அறிவிக்கும்படி, அதை அவருக்குக் கொடுப்பேன் என்றான்.
9 In former times it was custom in Israel, that when a man went to inquire of God, he said thus, Come, and let us go as far as the seer; for the Prophet of the present day was in former times called a Seer.
௯முற்காலத்தில் இஸ்ரவேலில் தேவனிடத்தில் விசாரிக்கப்போகிற எவனும் ஞானதிருஷ்டிக்காரனிடம் போவோம் வாருங்கள் என்பார்கள்; இந்த நாளிலே தீர்க்கதரிசி எனப்படுகிறவன் முற்காலத்தில் ஞானதிருஷ்டிக்காரன் என்னப்படுவான்.
10 Then said Saul to his servant, Thy word is good: come, let us go. So they went unto the city where the man of God was.
௧0அப்பொழுது சவுல் தன் வேலைக்காரனைப் பார்த்து: நல்ல காரியம் சொன்னாய், போவோம் வா என்றான்; அப்படியே தேவனுடைய மனிதன் இருந்த அந்தப் பட்டணத்திற்குப் போனார்கள்.
11 As they went up the ascent to the city, they found some maidens going out to draw water; and they said unto them, Is the seer here?
௧௧அவர்கள் பட்டணத்து மேட்டின் வழியாக ஏறுகிறபோது, தண்ணீர் எடுக்கவந்த பெண்களைக் கண்டு: ஞானதிருஷ்டிக்காரன் இங்கே இருக்கிறாரா என்று அவர்களைக் கேட்டார்கள்.
12 And they answered them, and said, He is; behold, he is before you: make haste now, for this day came he to the city; because the people have a sacrifice today on the high-place;
௧௨அதற்கு அவர்கள்: இருக்கிறார்; இதோ, உங்களுக்கு எதிரே இருக்கிறார்; சீக்கிரமாகப் போங்கள்; இன்றைக்கு மக்கள் மேடையில் பலியிடுகிறதினால், இன்றையதினம் பட்டணத்திற்கு வந்தார்.
13 As soon as ye are come into the city, ye will straightway find him, before yet he can go up to the high-place to eat; for the people will not eat until he be come, because he always blesseth the sacrifice; afterward eat those that are invited; and now go you up; for just today will ye surely find him.
௧௩நீங்கள் பட்டணத்திற்குள் நுழைந்தவுடனே, அவர் மேடையின்மேல் சாப்பிடப் போகிறதற்கு முன்னே அவரைக் காண்பீர்கள்; அவர் வரும்வரை மக்கள் சாப்பிடமாட்டார்கள்; பலியிட்டதை அவர் ஆசீர்வதிப்பார்; பின்பு அழைக்கப்பட்டவர்கள் சாப்பிடுவார்கள்; உடனே போங்கள்; இந்த நேரத்திலே அவரைக் காணலாம் என்றார்கள்.
14 And they went up into the city. They were entering into the city, when, behold, Samuel came out toward them, to go up to the high-place.
௧௪அவர்கள் பட்டணத்திற்குப் போய், பட்டணத்தின் நடுவே சேர்ந்தபோது, இதோ, சாமுவேல் மேடையின்மேல் ஏறிப்போகிறதற்காக, அவர்களுக்கு எதிரே புறப்பட்டு வந்தான்.
15 And the Lord had revealed to Samuel's ear one day before Saul's coming, saying,
௧௫சவுல் வருவதற்கு ஒரு நாளுக்கு முன்னே யெகோவா சாமுவேலின் காது கேட்கும்படி:
16 About this time tomorrow will I send unto thee a man out of the land of Benjamin, and thou shalt anoint him as chief over my people Israel, that he may save my people out of the hand of the Philistines; for I have beheld my people, because their cry is come unto me.
௧௬நாளை இதே நேரத்தில் பென்யமீன் நாட்டானான ஒரு மனிதனை உன்னிடத்தில் அனுப்புவேன்; அவனை என்னுடைய மக்களான இஸ்ரவேலின்மேல் அதிபதியாக அபிஷேகம் செய்வாய்; அவன் என்னுடைய மக்களை பெலிஸ்தர்களின் கையிலிருந்து மீட்பான்; என்னுடைய மக்களின் முறையிடுதல் என்னிடத்தில் வந்து எட்டினதால், நான் அவர்களை ஏக்கத்தோடு பார்த்தேன் என்று வெளிப்படுத்தியிருந்தார்.
17 And when Samuel saw Saul, the Lord addressed him, Behold, the man of whom I spoke to thee, This one shall rule over my people.
௧௭சாமுவேல் சவுலைக் கண்டபோது, யெகோவா அவனிடத்தில்: இதோ, நான் உனக்குச் சொல்லியிருந்த மனிதன் இவனே; இவன்தான் என்னுடைய மக்களை ஆளுவான் என்றார்.
18 And Saul drew near to Samuel within the gate, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, where is the house of the seer.
௧௮சவுல் நடுவாசலிலே சாமுவேலிடத்தில் வந்து: ஞானதிருஷ்டிக்காரன் வீடு எங்கே, சொல்லும் என்று கேட்டான்.
19 And Samuel answered Saul, and said, I am the seer: go up before me unto the high-place, and ye shall eat with me today; and I will let thee go in the morning, and all that is in thy heart will I tell thee.
௧௯சாமுவேல் சவுலுக்குப் பதிலாக: ஞானதிருஷ்டிக்காரன் நான்தான்; நீ எனக்கு முன்னே மேடையின்மேல் ஏறிப்போ; நீங்கள் இன்றைக்கு என்னோடு சாப்பிடவேண்டும்; நாளைக்காலை நான் உன்னுடைய இருதயத்தில் உள்ளது எல்லாவற்றையும் உனக்கு அறிவித்து, உன்னை அனுப்பிவிடுவேன்.
20 And as for thy asses that were lost unto thee this day three days ago, do not set thy heart on them; for they have been found. And to whom belongeth all that is desirable in Israel? Is it not to thee, and to all thy father's house?
௨0மூன்று நாளைக்கு முன்னே காணாமல்போன கழுதைகளைப்பற்றிக் கவலைப்படவேண்டாம்; அவைகள் கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்டது; இதைத் தவிர எல்லா இஸ்ரவேலின் விருப்பம் யாரை நாடுகிறது? உன்னையும் உன்னுடைய வீட்டார்கள் அனைவரையும் அல்லவா? என்றான்.
21 And Saul answered and said, Am not I a son of Benjamin, of one of the smallest tribes of Israel? and [is not] my family the least of all the families of the tribes of Benjamin? wherefore then hast thou spoken to me such thing?
௨௧அப்பொழுது சவுல் பதிலாக: நான் இஸ்ரவேல் கோத்திரங்களிலே சிறிதான பென்யமீன் கோத்திரத்தான் அல்லவா? பென்யமீன் கோத்திரத்துக் குடும்பங்களிலெல்லாம் என்னுடைய குடும்பம் அற்பமானது அல்லவா? நீர் இப்படிப்பட்ட வார்த்தையை என்னிடத்தில் சொல்வது ஏன் என்றான்.
22 And Samuel took Saul and his servant, and brought them into the apartment; and he assigned them a place at the head of the invited guests, who were about thirty persons.
௨௨சாமுவேல் சவுலையும் அவனுடைய வேலைக்காரனையும் உணவு அறைக்குள் அழைத்துக்கொண்டுபோய், அவர்களை அழைக்கப்பட்டவர்களுக்குள்ளே தலைமையான இடத்திலே வைத்தான்; அழைக்கப்பட்டவர்கள் ஏறக்குறைய 30 பேராக இருந்தார்கள்.
23 And Samuel said unto the cook, Hand here the portion which I gave thee, of which I said unto thee, Put it away by thee.
௨௩பின்பு சாமுவேல் சமையற்காரனைப் பார்த்து: நான் உன்னுடைய கையிலே ஒரு பங்கைக் கொடுத்துவைத்தேனே, அதைக் கொண்டுவந்து வை என்றான்.
24 And the cook took up the shoulder, and that which was on it, and set it before Saul; and he said, Behold what is left! set it before thee, and eat; for unto this time hath it been kept from thee, since I said, I have invited the people. And Saul ate with Samuel on that day.
௨௪அப்பொழுது சமையற்காரன், ஒரு முன்னந்தொடையையும், அதனோடு இருந்ததையும் எடுத்துக்கொண்டு வந்து அதை சவுலுக்கு முன்பாக வைத்தான்; அப்பொழுது சாமுவேல்: இதோ, இது உனக்காக வைக்கப்பட்டது, இதை உனக்கு முன்பாக வைத்துச் சாப்பிடு; நான் மக்களை விருந்திற்கு அழைத்தது முதல், இதுவரைக்கும் இது உனக்காக வைக்கப்பட்டிருந்தது என்றான்; அப்படியே சவுல் அன்றையதினம் சாமுவேலோடு சாப்பிட்டான்.
25 And they went down from the high-place into the city, and he spoke with Saul upon the roof.
௨௫அவர்கள் மேடையிலிருந்து பட்டணத்திற்கு இறங்கிவந்தபின்பு, அவனுடைய மேல்வீட்டிலே சவுலோடு பேசிக்கொண்டிருந்தான்.
26 And they got up early; and it came to pass when the morning-dawn arose, that Samuel called Saul to the roof, saying, Up, that I may send thee away. And Saul arose, and they went out, both of them, he and Samuel, into the street.
௨௬அவர்கள் அதிகாலை கிழக்கு வெளுக்கிற நேரத்தில் எழுந்திருந்தபோது, சாமுவேல் சவுலை மேல்வீட்டின்மேல் அழைத்து: நான் உன்னை அனுப்பிவிடும்படி ஆயத்தப்படு என்றான்; சவுல் ஆயத்தப்பட்டபோது, அவனும் சாமுவேலும் இருவருமாக வெளியே புறப்பட்டார்கள்.
27 As they were going down to the end of the city, Samuel said to Saul, Say to the servant that he pass on before us, —and he passed on, —but thou remain standing a while, and I will let thee hear the word of God.
௨௭அவர்கள் பட்டணத்தின் கடைசிவரை இறங்கிவந்தபோது, சாமுவேல் சவுலைப் பார்த்து: வேலைக்காரனை நமக்கு முன்னே நடந்துபோகச் சொல் என்றான்; அப்படியே அவன் நடந்துபோனான்; இப்பொழுது நான் தேவனுடைய வார்த்தையை உனக்குத் தெரிவிக்கும்படி, நீ சற்று இங்கே நில் என்றான்.
