1 Samuel 28
1 And it came to pass in those days, that the Philistines gathered their camps together for warfare, to fight with Israel; and Achish said unto David, Thou must know that thou shalt go out with me into the camp, thou and thy men.
En aquellos días, los filisteos reunieron sus ejércitos para la guerra, para luchar contra Israel. Aquis dijo a David: “Ten por seguro que saldrás conmigo en el ejército, tú y tus hombres”.
2 And David said to Achish, By reason of this wilt thou thyself ascertain what thy servant will do. And Achish said to David, Therefore will I make thee the guard of my head for all times.
David dijo a Aquis: “Así sabrás lo que puede hacer tu siervo”. Aquis dijo a David: “Por eso te haré mi guardaespaldas para siempre”.
3 Now Samuel was dead, and all Israel had lamented him, and buried him in Ramah, even in his own city; and Saul had removed those that had familiar spirits, and the wizards, out of the land.
Samuel había muerto, y todo Israel lo había llorado y enterrado en Ramá, en su propia ciudad. Saúl había expulsado del país a los que tenían espíritus familiares y a los magos.
4 And the Philistines assembled themselves together, and came and encamped at Shunem: and Saul assembled together all Israel, and they encamped at Gilboa'.
Los filisteos se reunieron y vinieron a acampar en Sunem, y Saúl reunió a todo Israel y acamparon en Gilboa.
5 And when Saul saw the camp of the Philistines, he was afraid, and his heart trembled greatly.
Cuando Saúl vio el ejército de los filisteos, tuvo miedo y su corazón se estremeció mucho.
6 And Saul asked counsel of the Lord; but the Lord answered him not, either by means of dreams, or by means of the Urim, or by means of the prophets.
Cuando Saúl consultó a Yahvé, éste no le respondió ni por sueños, ni por Urim, ni por profetas.
7 Then said Saul unto his servants, Seek out for me a woman that hath a familiar spirit, that I may go to her and inquire of her. And his servants said to him, Behold, there is a woman that hath a familiar spirit at 'En-dor.
Entonces Saúl dijo a sus servidores: “Buscadme una mujer que tenga un espíritu familiar, para que vaya a ella y le pregunte.” Sus sirvientes le dijeron: “Mira, hay una mujer que tiene un espíritu familiar en Endor”.
8 And Saul disguised himself, and put on other garments, and he went, he and two men with him, and they came to the woman by night: and he said, Divine, I pray thee, unto me by the familiar spirit, and bring up for me the one whom I shall say unto thee.
Saúl se disfrazó y se puso otra ropa, y fue, él y dos hombres con él, y llegaron a la mujer de noche. Entonces les dijo: “Por favor, consulta por mí por el espíritu familiar, y hazme subir a quien yo te nombre”.
9 And the woman said unto him, Behold, thou well knowest that which Saul hath done, that he hath cut off those that have familiar spirits, and the wizards, out of the land; wherefore then layest thou a snare for my life, to cause me to die?
La mujer le dijo: “Mira, tú sabes lo que ha hecho Saúl, cómo ha eliminado del país a los que tienen espíritus familiares y a los magos. ¿Por qué, pues, pones una trampa a mi vida, para causarme la muerte?”
10 And Saul swore to her by the Lord, saying, As the Lord liveth, there shall no guilt attach to thee for this thing.
Saúl le juró por Yahvé, diciendo: “Vive Yahvé, que no te sucederá ningún castigo por esto”.
11 Then said the woman, Whom shall I bring up for thee? And he said, Samuel thou must bring up for me.
Entonces la mujer dijo: “¿A quién te voy a subir?” Dijo: “Trae a Samuel por mí”.
12 And when the woman saw Samuel, she cried with a loud voice: and the woman said to Saul thus, Why hast thou deceived me? since thou art Saul.
Cuando la mujer vio a Samuel, gritó con fuerza; y la mujer habló a Saúl diciendo: “¿Por qué me has engañado? Porque tú eres Saúl”.
13 And the king said unto her, Be not afraid; however, what hast thou seen? And the woman said unto Saul, A divine being have I seen ascending out of the earth.
El rey le dijo: “¡No tengas miedo! ¿Qué ves?” La mujer le dijo a Saúl: “Veo un dios que sale de la tierra”.
14 And he said unto her, What is his form? And she said, An old man is coming up; and he is wrapt in a mantle. And so Saul perceived that it was Samuel, and he bowed with his face to the ground, and prostrated himself.
Le dijo: “¿Qué aspecto tiene?” Ella dijo: “Un anciano se acerca. Está cubierto con un manto”. Saúl percibió que era Samuel, y se inclinó con el rostro hacia el suelo, mostrando respeto.
15 And Samuel said to Saul, Why hast thou disquieted me, to bring me up? And Saul answered, I am greatly distressed, and the Philistines make war against me, and God is departed from me, and hath not answered me any more, either by the agency of the prophets, or by means of dreams; wherefore I have called thee, to make known unto me what I shall do.
Samuel dijo a Saúl: “¿Por qué me has molestado para hacerme subir?” Saúl respondió: “Estoy muy angustiado, porque los filisteos me hacen la guerra, y Dios se ha alejado de mí y no me responde más, ni por profetas ni por sueños. Por eso te he llamado, para que me des a conocer lo que debo hacer”.
16 Then said Samuel, And why wilt thou ask me, seeing the Lord is departed from thee, and is become thy enemy?
Samuel dijo: “¿Por qué me preguntas, pues Yahvé se ha alejado de ti y se ha convertido en tu adversario?
17 And the Lord hath done for himself as he hath spoken through my agency; and the Lord hath rent the government out of thy hand, and hath given it to thy associate, to David;
El Señor ha hecho contigo lo que dijo por mí. El Señor ha arrancado el reino de tus manos y se lo ha dado a tu vecino, a David.
18 As thou didst not obey the voice of the Lord, and didst not execute his fierce wrath upon 'Amalek; therefore hath the Lord done this thing unto thee this day.
Porque no obedeciste la voz del Señor y no ejecutaste su furia contra Amalec, por eso el Señor te ha hecho esto hoy.
19 And the Lord will deliver also Israel with thee into the hand of the Philistines; and tomorrow shalt thou and thy sons be with me: also the camp of Israel will the Lord deliver into the hand of the Philistines.
Además, Yahvé entregará a Israel también con ustedes en manos de los filisteos, y mañana tú y tus hijos estarán conmigo. El Señor entregará también el ejército de Israel en manos de los filisteos”.
20 Then fell Saul hastily with his full length to the earth, and was greatly afraid, because of the words of Samuel: there was also no strength in him; for he had not eaten any food all that day, and all that night.
Entonces Saúl cayó inmediatamente en tierra en toda su extensión, y se aterrorizó a causa de las palabras de Samuel. No había fuerzas en él, pues no había comido pan en todo el día ni en toda la noche.
21 And the woman came unto Saul, and saw that he was greatly terrified; and she said unto him, Behold, thy hand-maid hath obeyed thy voice; and I put my life in my hand, and hearkened unto thy words which thou spokest unto me.
La mujer se acercó a Saúl y, viendo que estaba muy turbado, le dijo: “Mira, tu siervo ha escuchado tu voz, y yo he puesto mi vida en mi mano, y he escuchado tus palabras que me has dicho.
22 And now, hearken thou also, I pray thee, unto the voice of thy hand-maid, and let me set before thee a morsel of bread, and eat; that thou mayest have strength when thou goest on the way.
Ahora, pues, te ruego que escuches también la voz de tu siervo, y permíteme poner ante ti un bocado de pan. Come, para que tengas fuerzas cuando sigas tu camino”.
23 But he refused, and said, I will not eat. But his servants urged him much, as also the woman; and he hearkened unto their voice. So he arose from the earth, and sat upon the bed.
Pero él se negó y dijo: “No quiero comer”. Pero sus siervos, junto con la mujer, lo obligaron; y él escuchó su voz. Entonces se levantó de la tierra y se sentó en la cama.
24 And the woman had a fatted calf in the house; and she hastened, and slaughtered it, and took flour, and kneaded it, and baked unleavened bread thereof:
La mujer tenía en casa un ternero cebado. Se apresuró a matarlo, tomó harina, la amasó y coció con ella panes sin levadura.
25 And she brought it near before Saul, and before his servants; and they ate. Then they rose up, and went away that night.
Lo llevó ante Saúl y ante sus sirvientes, y comieron. Luego se levantaron y se fueron aquella noche.
