1 Samuel 27
1 And David said in his heart, Now I may yet perish suddenly one day by the hand of Saul; there is nothing better for me than that I should escape at once into the land of the Philistines, then Saul will abstain from me, to seek me any more in all the territory of Israel: and so shall I escape out of his hand.
೧ದಾವೀದನು ತನ್ನ ಮನಸ್ಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ, “ನಾನು ಇಲ್ಲೇ ಇದ್ದರೆ ಹೇಗೂ ಒಂದು ದಿನ ಸೌಲನ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಸಾಯಲೇಬೇಕು ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದೇ ಉತ್ತಮ. ಆ ಮೇಲೆ ಸೌಲನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರ ಪ್ರಾಂತ್ಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕದೆ ಬಿಟ್ಟುಬಿಡುವನು. ನಾನು ಅವನ ಕೈಗೆ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡವನಾಗಿರುವೆನು” ಅಂದುಕೊಂಡನು.
2 And David arose, and he passed over himself with the six hundred men that were with him unto Achish, the son of Ma'och, the king of Gath.
೨ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಆರುನೂರು ಜನರೊಡನೆ ಗತ್ ಊರಿನ ಅರಸನೂ ಮಾವೋಕನ ಮಗನೂ ಆದ ಆಕೀಷನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋದನು.
3 And David remained with Achish at Gath, he and his men, every man with his household, also David with his two wives, Achino'am the Yizre'elitess, and Abigayil, Nabal's wife, the Carmelitess.
೩ಅವನೂ, ಅವನ ಜನರೂ ತಮ್ಮ ತಮ್ಮ ಕುಟುಂಬ ಸಹಿತವಾಗಿ ಆಕೀಷನ ಊರಾದ ಗತ್ ಊರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಮಾಡಿದರು. ದಾವೀದನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯರಾಗಿರುವ ಇಜ್ರೇಲ್ಯಳಾದ ಅಹೀನೋವಮಳೂ, ಕರ್ಮೇಲ್ಯನಾದ ನಾಬಾಲನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದ ಅಬೀಗೈಲಳೂ ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದರು.
4 And when it was told unto Saul that David was fled to Gath, he continued no more to seek for him.
೪ದಾವೀದನು ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಗತ್ ಊರಿಗೆ ಹೋದನೆಂಬ ವರ್ತಮಾನವನ್ನು ಸೌಲನು ಕೇಳಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ಅವನನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕಲೇ ಇಲ್ಲ.
5 And David said unto Achish, If now I have found grace in thy eyes, let them give me a place in some one of the country-towns, that I may dwell there; for why should thy servant dwell in the royal city with thee?
೫ಒಂದು ದಿನ ದಾವೀದನು ಆಕೀಷನಿಗೆ, “ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನಾದ ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ರಾಜಧಾನಿಯಲ್ಲೇಕೆ ವಾಸಿಸಬೇಕು? ನಿನ್ನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನನಗೆ ದಯೆ ದೊರಕಿರುವುದಾದರೆ ಯಾವುದಾದರು ಒಂದು ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿ ನನಗೆ ಸ್ಥಳಕೊಡು. ನಾನು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಮಾಡುವೆನು” ಅಂದನು.
6 Then gave Achish unto him on that day Ziklag: therefore hath Ziklag pertained unto the kings of Judah until this day.
೬ಆಕೀಷನು ಕೂಡಲೇ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಚಿಕ್ಲಗ್ ಊರನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟುಬಿಟ್ಟನು. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಚಿಕ್ಲಗ್ ಎಂಬುದು ಇಂದಿನವರೆಗೂ ಯೆಹೂದ ರಾಜರಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿದೆ.
7 And the number of the days that David dwelt in the fields of the Philistines was a full year and four months.
೭ದಾವೀದನು ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ವರ್ಷ ನಾಲ್ಕು ತಿಂಗಳೂ ವಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದನು.
8 And David and his men went up, and invaded the Geshurites, and the Gizrites, and the 'Amalekites; for these nations were of old the inhabitants of the land, till thou comest to Shur, and as far as the land of Egypt.
೮ಆ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನೂ, ಅವನ ಜನರೂ ತೇಲಾಮಿನಿಂದ ಶೂರಿನವರೆಗೂ, ಐಗುಪ್ತ ದೇಶದವರೆಗೂ ವಿಸ್ತರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿರುವ ಪ್ರಾಂತ್ಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ಗೆಷೂರ್ಯರು, ಗಿಜ್ರೀಯರು, ಅಮಾಲೇಕ್ಯರು ಇವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಆಕ್ರಮಣ ಮಾಡಿ ಸುಲಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
9 And David smote the land, and left not alive either man or woman, and took away the flocks, and the oxen, and the asses, and the camels, and the apparel, and returned, and came to Achish.
೯ದಾವೀದನು ಸ್ತ್ರೀಪುರುಷರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬರನ್ನೂ ಉಳಿಸದೆ ದೇಶದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳನ್ನು ಕೊಂದು, ಕುರಿ, ದನ, ಕತ್ತೆ, ಒಂಟೆ, ಉಡುಗೊರೆ ಇವುಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಆಕೀಷನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು.
10 And Achish said, Whither have ye made an inroad today? And David said, Against the south of Judah, and against the south of the Yerachmeelites, and against the south of the Kenites.
೧೦ಆಕೀಷನು ಅವನನ್ನು “ಈ ಹೊತ್ತು ಯಾವ ಪ್ರಾಂತ್ಯದವರನ್ನು ಸೂರೆಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದಿರಿ” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳುವನು. ದಾವೀದನು ಅವನಿಗೆ “ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಪ್ರಾಂತ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರು, ಎರಹ್ಮೇಲ್ಯರು ಕೇನ್ಯರು ಇವರಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾರ ಹೆಸರನ್ನಾದರೂ” ಹೇಳುವರು.
11 And David left not alive either man or woman, to bring [them] to Gath, saying, That they may not tell on us, saying, So hath David done, and so is his custom all the days he hath dwelt in the fields of the Philistines.
೧೧ದಾವೀದನು ತನ್ನ ಕೃತ್ಯವನ್ನು ಜನರು ಹೇಳಾರೆಂದು ನೆನಸಿ, ಅವನು ಯಾರನ್ನೂ ಗತ್ ಊರಿಗೆ ತಾರದೆ, ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಪುರುಷರನ್ನು ಅಲ್ಲೇ ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು. ಅವನು ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ಇದೇ ರೀತಿ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು.
12 And Achish had confidence in David, saying, He hath surely spoiled his odor among his people, among Israel; and he will become unto me a servant for ever.
೧೨ದಾವೀದನ ಹೆಸರು ಸ್ವಜನರಾದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಲ್ಲಿ ತನ್ನ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ಕೆಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಇವನು ತನ್ನ ನಿತ್ಯ ದಾಸನಾಗಿರುವನೆಂದು ಆಕೀಷನು ನಂಬಿಕೊಂಡನು.
