1 Samuel 26
1 And the Ziphites came unto Saul to Gib'ah, saying, Behold, David hideth himself on the hill of Chachilah, before the desert.
Os zifitas vieram a Saul para Gibeah, dizendo: “Não se esconde David na colina de Hachilah, que está diante do deserto?
2 Then arose Saul, and went down to the wilderness of Ziph, and with him were three thousand men chosen out of Israel, to seek David in the wilderness of Ziph.
Então Saul se levantou e desceu ao deserto de Zife, tendo com ele três mil homens escolhidos de Israel, para buscar Davi no deserto de Zife.
3 And Saul encamped on the hill of Chachilah, which is before the desert by the way; but David abode in the wilderness, and he saw that Saul was coming after him into the wilderness.
A propósito, Saul acampou-se na colina de Hachilah, que está diante do deserto. Mas Davi ficou no deserto, e viu que Saul veio atrás dele para o deserto.
4 David thereupon sent out spies, and understood that Saul was come for a certainty.
David, portanto, enviou espiões, e entendeu que Saul certamente tinha vindo.
5 And David arose, and came to the place where Saul was encamped; and David beheld the place where Saul lay, with Abner the son of Ner, the captain of his army; and Saul was lying in the midst of the ring, and the people were encamped round about him.
Então Davi se levantou e chegou ao lugar onde Saul havia acampado; e Davi viu o lugar onde estava Saul, com Abner, o filho de Ner, o capitão de seu exército. Saul estava deitado dentro do lugar das carroças, e o povo estava acampado ao seu redor.
6 Then commenced David and said to Achimelech the Hittite, and to Abishai the son of Zeruyah, the brother of Joab, saying, Who will go down with me to Saul to the camp? And Abishai said, I will readily go down with thee.
Então Davi respondeu e disse a Aimeleque, o hitita, e a Abishai, o filho de Zeruia, irmão de Joabe, dizendo: “Quem descerá comigo até Saul para o acampamento? Abishai disse: “Eu vou descer com você”.
7 So David and Abishai came to the people by night: and, behold, Saul lay sleeping within the ring, with his spear stuck in the ground by his head; but Abner and the people were lying round about him.
Então David e Abishai vieram ao povo à noite; e eis que Saul estava deitado dormindo dentro do lugar das carroças, com sua lança presa no chão à sua cabeça; e Abner e o povo estavam deitados ao seu redor.
8 Then said Abishai to David, God hath surrendered this day thy enemy into thy hand: and now let me strike him through, I pray thee, with the spear, even to the earth with one blow, and I will not give him a second one.
Então Abishai disse a David: “Deus entregou seu inimigo em suas mãos hoje”. Agora, portanto, por favor, deixe-me golpeá-lo com a lança na terra de uma só vez, e não vou golpeá-lo pela segunda vez”.
9 But David said to Abishai, Destroy him not; for who hath stretched forth his hand against the Lord's anointed, and remained guiltless?
David disse a Abishai: “Não o destrua, pois quem pode estender sua mão contra o ungido de Yahweh e ser inocente?
10 David said farthermore, As the Lord liveth, the Lord alone shall strike him down: either his day shall come that he die; or he shall go down into battle, and perish.
David disse: “Enquanto Iavé viver, Iavé o atacará; ou seu dia chegará para morrer, ou ele descerá para a batalha e perecerá.
11 Far be this from me for the sake of the Lord, that I should stretch forth my hand against the Lord's anointed; but now, I pray thee, take thou the spear that is by his head, and the cruise of water, and let us go our way.
Iavé proíbe que eu estenda minha mão contra o ungido de Iavé; mas agora, por favor, pegue a lança que está em sua cabeça e o pote de água, e vamos”.
12 So David took the spear and the cruise of water by the head of Saul, and they went their way; and no one saw it, and no one perceived it, and-no one awaked; for they were all sleeping; because a deep sleep from the Lord was fallen upon them.
Então David pegou a lança e o pote de água da cabeça de Saul, e eles foram embora. Nenhum homem a viu, nem sabia disso, nem acordou; pois todos estavam dormindo, porque um sono profundo de Javé havia caído sobre eles.
13 Then went David over to the other side, and stood on the top of the mount afar off, the space between them being great.
Então Davi foi para o outro lado, e ficou no topo da montanha longe, um grande espaço entre eles;
14 And David called to the people, and to Abner the son of Ner, saying, Wilt thou not answer, Abner? And Abner answered and said, Who art thou that callest to the king?
e Davi gritou ao povo, e a Abner, o filho de Ner, dizendo: “Você não responde, Abner? Então Abner respondeu: “Quem é você que chama o rei?”.
15 And David said to Abner, Art thou not a man? and who is like to thee in Israel? why then hast thou not kept guard over thy lord the king? for there came one of the people to destroy the king thy lord.
David disse a Abner: “Você não é um homem? Quem é como você em Israel? Por que então você não vigiou o seu senhor, o rei? Pois um do povo veio para destruir seu senhor, o rei.
16 This thing which thou hast done is not good. As the Lord liveth, ye deserve to die; because ye have not kept guard over your master, over the Lord's anointed. And now see, where is the king's spear, and the cruise of water that was by his head?
Isto não é bom que você tenha feito. Como Iavé vive, você é digno de morrer, porque não vigiou seu senhor, Iavé é ungido. Agora veja onde está a lança do rei, e o pote de água que estava à sua cabeça”.
17 And Saul recognized David's voice, and he said, Is this thy voice, my son David? And David said, It is my voice, my Lord, O king.
Saul reconheceu a voz de David e disse: “Esta é sua voz, meu filho David”? David disse: “É a minha voz, meu senhor, ó rei”.
18 And he said, Why is this that my lord doth pursue after his servant? for what have I done? or what evil is in my hand?
Ele disse: “Por que meu senhor persegue seu servo? Pelo que eu fiz? Que mal está em minhas mãos?
19 And now, I pray thee, let my Lord the king hear the words of his servant! If the Lord have stirred thee up against me, then may he accept the savor of an offering; but if they be the children of men, then be they cursed before the Lord; because they have driven me out this day so that I cannot attach myself on the inheritance of the Lord, saying, Go, serve other gods.
Agora, portanto, por favor, deixe que meu senhor, o rei, ouça as palavras de seu servo. Se é para que Javé o tenha agitado contra mim, deixe-o aceitar uma oferta. Mas se são os filhos dos homens, estão amaldiçoados diante de Javé; pois me expulsaram hoje para que eu não me agarre à herança de Javé, dizendo: 'Vai, serve a outros deuses!
20 Now, therefore, let not my blood fall to the earth far from the presence of the Lord; for the king of Israel is come out to seek a single flea, as one doth usually pursue a partridge on the mountains.
Agora, portanto, não deixe meu sangue cair na terra longe da presença de Javé; pois o rei de Israel saiu em busca de uma pulga, como quando se caça uma perdiz nas montanhas”.
21 Then said Saul, I have sinned; return, my son David; for I will not do thee harm any more, for the cause that my life was precious in thy eyes this day: behold, I have acted foolishly, and have erred exceedingly much.
Então Saul disse: “Eu pequei”. Volte, meu filho David; pois eu não lhe farei mais mal, porque minha vida foi preciosa aos seus olhos hoje”. Eis que me fiz de idiota e errei excessivamente”.
22 And David answered and said, Behold, here is the king's spear! and let one of the young men come over and fetch it.
David respondeu: “Eis a lança, ó rei! Que um dos jovens venha buscá-la.
23 And may the Lord recompense to every man his righteousness and his faithfulness; since the Lord delivered thee into my hand today, and I would not stretch forth my hand against the anointed of the Lord.
Javé entregará a cada homem sua justiça e sua fidelidade; porque Javé o entregou em minhas mãos hoje, e eu não estenderia minha mão contra o ungido de Javé.
24 And behold, as thy life was highly valued this day in my eyes, so may my life be highly valued in the eyes of the Lord, and may he deliver me out of all tribulation.
Eis que, como hoje sua vida foi respeitada aos meus olhos, que minha vida seja respeitada aos olhos de Javé, e que ele me livre de toda opressão”.
25 Then said Saul to David, Blessed be thou my son David: thou wilt both do great things, and wilt also surely prevail. And David went then on his way, and Saul returned to his place.
Então Saul disse a David: “Você é abençoado, meu filho David”. Ambos farão muito bem, e certamente prevalecerão”. Então David seguiu seu caminho e Saul voltou para seu lugar.
