1 Samuel 23
1 Then they told David, saying, Behold, the Philistines are fighting against Ke'ilah, and they are plundering the threshing-floors.
Und sie sagten dem David an und sprachen: Siehe, die Philister streiten wider Kegilah und plündern die Tennen.
2 Thereupon David asked counsel of the Lord, saying, Shall I go and smite among these Philistines? And the Lord said unto David, Go and smite among the Philistines, and deliver Ke'ilah.
Und David befragte Jehovah und sprach: Soll ich hingehen und diese Philister schlagen? Und Jehovah sprach zu David: Gehe und schlage die Philister und rette Kegilah.
3 And David's men said unto him, Behold, here in Judah are we afraid: how much more then if we should go to Ke'ilah against the battle-arrays of the Philistines?
Und Davids Männer sprachen zu ihm: Siehe, wir sind hier in Judah in Furcht. Und wieviel mehr, wenn wir nach Kegilah wider die Schlachtreihen der Philister ziehen.
4 Then David asked yet again counsel of the Lord. And the Lord answered him and said, Arise, Go down to Ke'ilah; for I [will] deliver the Philistines into thy hand.
Und David befragte wiederum Jehovah, und Jehovah antwortete ihm und sprach: Mache dich auf und gehe hinab nach Kegilah; denn ich gebe die Philister in deine Hand.
5 So David and his men went to Ke'ilah; and he fought with the Philistines, and lead away their cattle, and smote among them a great slaughter. So David delivered the inhabitants of Ke'ilah.
Und David zog mit seinen Männern nach Kegilah und stritt gegen die Philister, und trieb ihre Viehherden davon und schlug sie mit großer Schlacht, und David rettete die Einwohner Kegilahs.
6 And it came to pass, when Ebyathar the son of Achimelech, fled over to David, to Ke'ilah, that the ephod came down with him.
Und es geschah, da Abjathar, Achimelechs Sohn, zu David nach Kegilah entwich, kam das Ephod in seiner Hand herab.
7 And it was told to Saul that David was come to Ke'ilah. And Saul said, God hath delivered him into my hand; for he is shut in, by entering into a town that hath gates and bars.
Und dem Saul ward angesagt, daß David nach Kegilah gekommen sei. Und Saul sprach: Gott hat ihn in meine Hand gegeben, da er sich eingeschlossen und in eine Stadt mit Türen und Riegeln gekommen ist.
8 And Saul called all the people together to war, to go down to Ke'ilah, to besiege David and his men.
Und Saul ließ es das ganze Volk hören, daß es zum Streite hinabgehe nach Kegilah, um David und seine Männer dort zu belagern.
9 And David understood that Saul secretly devised mischief against him; and he said to Ebyathar the priest, Bring hither the ephod.
Und David wußte, daß Saul Böses wider ihn im Stillen sann, und sprach zu Abjathar, dem Priester: Bringe das Ephod herbei.
10 Then said David, O Lord, God of Israel, thy servant hath heard for certain that Saul seeketh to come to Ke'ilah, to destroy the city for my sake.
Und David sprach: Jehovah, Gott Israels, dein Knecht hat gehört, daß Saul trachte, nach Kegilah zu kommen, um die Stadt wegen meiner zu verderben.
11 Will the men of Ke'ilah surrender me into his hand? will Saul come down as thy servant hath heard? O Lord, God of Israel, I beseech thee, tell thy servant. And the Lord said, He will come down.
Werden mich die Bürger von Kegilah in seine Hand überantworten? Wird Saul herabkommen, wie dein Knecht gehört hat? Jehovah, Gott Israels, sage es doch an deinem Knechte. Und Jehovah sprach: Er wird herabkommen.
12 Then said David, Will the men of Ke'ilah surrender me and my men into the hand of Saul! And the Lord said, They will surrender.
Und David sprach: Werden die Bürger von Kegilah mich und meine Männer in Sauls Hand überantworten? Und Jehovah sprach: Sie werden euch überantworten.
13 Then arose David and his men, about six hundred men, and departed out of Ke'ilah, and wandered about whithersoever they could go. And when it was told to Saul that David was escaped from Ke'ilah, he forbore to go forth.
Und David machte sich auf und seine Männer, bei sechshundert Mann, und sie zogen aus von Kegilah und gingen, wohin sie gehen konnten. Und es ward dem Saul angesagt, daß David aus Kegilah entronnen war; und er unterließ es, auszuziehen.
14 And David remained in the wilderness in strong-holds, and abode on the mountain in the wilderness of Ziph. And Saul sought him all the time, but God delivered him not into his hand.
Und David wohnte in der Wüste in den Festen und blieb auf dem Gebirge in der Wüste Siph, und Saul suchte ihn alle Tage. Gott gab ihn aber nicht in seine Hand.
15 And David saw that Saul was gone forth to seek his life: and David was in the wilderness of Ziph in the forest.
Und David sah, daß Saul ausgezogen war, ihm nach der Seele zu trachten. Aber David war in der Wüste Siph in dem Forste.
16 And Jonathan, the son of Saul, arose and went to David into the forest, and strengthened his hand in God.
Und Jonathan, Sauls Sohn, machte sich auf und ging zu David in den Forst und stärkte seine Hand in Gott;
17 And he said unto him, Fear not; for the hand of Saul my father will not find thee; and thou wilt be king over Israel, and I will be next unto thee; and also Saul my father knoweth this.
Und sprach zu ihm: Fürchte dich nicht; denn die Hand meines Vaters Saul wird dich nicht finden, und du wirst König über Israel; ich aber will der Zweite nach dir sein, und auch mein Vater Saul weiß solches.
18 And they made, both of them, a covenant before the Lord: and David remained in the forest; but Jonathan went to his house.
Und die zwei schlossen einen Bund vor Jehovah, und David blieb im Forst, Jonathan aber ging nach seinem Hause.
19 Then came up the Ziphites unto Saul to Gib'ah, saying, Behold, David is hiding himself with us in the strong-holds in the forest, on the hill of Chachilah, which is on the right of the desert.
Und die Siphiter gingen zu Saul hinauf nach Gibeah und sprachen: Hält David sich nicht bei uns verborgen in den Festen, in dem Forste, auf dem Hügel Chachilah, der rechts von dem Wüstenlande ist.
20 And now in accordance with all the longing of thy soul, O king, to come down, come down; and our part shall be to surrender him into the king's hand.
Und nun komme herab, wie es deine Seele gelüstet herabzukommen, o König, und an uns ist es, ihn in die Hand des Königs zu überantworten.
21 And Saul said, Blessed be ye of the Lord; for ye have pity on me.
Und Saul sprach: Gesegnet seid ihr von Jehovah, daß ihr mich bemitleidet.
22 Go, I pray you, make yet more preparations, and remark and see his place where his foot may be, who hath seen him there; for I am told that he dealeth with great subtilty.
Gehet doch, bereitet ferner, daß ihr wisset und sehet den Ort, da sein Fuß ist, wer ihn dort gesehen hat; denn man hat mir gesagt, daß er gar listig ist.
23 See therefore, and remark every one of all the lurking-places where he usually hideth himself, and come ye again to me with the certainty, and I will go with you; and it shall come to pass, if he be in the land, that I will search him out throughout all the thousands of Judah.
Und sehet und wisset alle die Verstecke, wohin er sich versteckt, und kommt zu mir zurück, wenn ihr gewiß seid, auf daß ich mit euch ziehe. Und es soll sein, so er im Lande ist, so will ich ihn ausforschen unter allen Tausenden Judahs.
24 And they arose, and went to Ziph before Saul; but David and his men were in the wilderness of Ma'on, in the plain on the right of the desert.
Und sie machten sich auf und gingen nach Siph vor Saul her; und David und seine Männer waren in der Wüste Maon, in der Arabah, zur Rechten von dem Wüstenland.
25 And Saul and his men went to make a search. And they told it to David: wherefore he came down to the rock, and abode in the wilderness of Ma'on. And when Saul heard this, he pursued after David into the wilderness of Ma'on.
Und Saul ging und seine Männer, um zu suchen, und sie sagten es dem David an, und er ging hinab in die Felsenklippe und blieb in der Wüste Maon. Und Saul hörte es und setzte hinter David nach in die Wüste Maon.
26 And Saul went on this side of the mountain, and David and his men on that side of the mountain; and David made haste to get away from before Saul; and Saul and his men were compassing David and his men to seize them.
Und Saul zog auf der einen Seite des Berges, und David und seine Männer auf der anderen Seite des Berges, und David war in Hast, dem Saul zu entgehen. Saul aber und seine Männer umgaben David und seine Männer, damit er sie fasse.
27 But a messenger came unto Saul, saying, Haste thee, and come; for the Philistines have invaded the land.
Und es kam ein Bote zu Saul und sprach: Komm in Eile, denn die Philister sind in das Land eingefallen.
28 Wherefore Saul returned from pursuing after David, and went against the Philistines: therefore they called that place Sela-hammachlekoth.
Und Saul kehrte um von der Nachsetzung hinter David und zog den Philistern entgegen. Darum nennen sie den Ort Sela-Hammachlekoth.
29 And David went up from there, and dwelt in strong-holds of 'En-gedi.
Und David zog von dannen hinauf und blieb in den Festen En-Gedi.
