< 1 Samuel 19 >

1 And Saul spoke to Jonathan his son, and to all his servants, that he would kill David. But Jonathan the son of Saul delighted greatly in David.
Saul el fahk nu sel Jonathan, wen natul, ac nu sin mwet pwapa lal nukewa lah el akoo elan unilya David. Tusruktu, Jonathan el arulana lungse David,
2 And Jonathan told David, saying, Saul my father seeketh to kill thee; now therefore, I pray thee, take heed to thyself in the morning, and abide in a secret place, and hide thyself:
na pa el fahkang nu sel David, “Papa tumuk el akoo elan unikomi. Nga kwafe sum tuh kom in arulana taran kom lututang. Som wikla ke sie acn lukma ac mutana we.
3 And I will go out and stand by the side of my father in the field where thou art, and I myself will speak of thee to my father; and I will see what it is, and I will tell thee.
Nga ac fah som tu sisken papa tumuk ke ima se kom wikwik we an, ac nga fah sramsram nu sel keim. Fin oasr ma kalem, nga tufah fahk nu sum.”
4 And Jonathan spoke favorably of David unto Saul his father, and said unto him, Let not the king sin against his servant, against David; since he hath not sinned against thee, and because his deeds are very good for thee;
Jonathan el kaksakunul David nu sel Saul ac fahk, “Lela tokosra elan tia oru kutena ma koluk nu sel David, mwet kulansap lom, mweyen el soenna oru ma koluk nu sum. Ma nukewa el oru mwe kasru yohk nu sum.
5 And he did put his life in his hand, and he slew the Philistine, and the Lord wrought a great salvation for all Israel; thou sawest it, and wast rejoiced: wherefore then wilt thou commit sin on innocent blood, by slaying David without a cause?
6 And Saul hearkened unto the voice of Jonathan: and Saul swore, As the Lord liveth, he shall not be put to death.
Saul el auliyak ke sripen ma Jonathan el fahk ah, ac el oru sie wulela ku Inen LEUM GOD lah el ac fah tia unilya David.
7 And Jonathan called David, and Jonathan told him all these words. And Jonathan brought David to Saul, and he was in his presence, as in times past.
8 And the war occurred again: and David went out, and fought with the Philistines, and smote them with a great defeat, and they fled from before him.
Mwet Philistia elos sifil tuku mweun. David el tuyak ac lainulos ac kutangulosla, ac elos kaing.
9 And the evil spirit from the Lord came upon Saul, and he was sitting in his house with his spear in his hand; and David was playing with his hand.
Sie len ah ngun koluk se sin LEUM GOD sifil sikyang nu sel Saul. El muta in lohm sel, ac osra soko oan inpaol. David el muta yorol ac srital ke harp natul.
10 And Saul sought to strike David through with the spear even to the wall; but he slipped away from before Saul, who struck the spear into the wall: and David fled, and escaped that night.
Saul el srike elan faksulang David nu pesinka uh ke osra soko ah. Tuh David el iwalla, ac osra soko ah kasiki na nu pesinka ah. Na David el illa ac kaingla.
11 But Saul sent messengers unto David's house, to watch him, and to slay him in the morning; and Michal his wife told it to David, saying, If thou save not thy life this night, tomorrow thou wilt be put to death.
In fong sacna, Saul el supwala kutu mwet soan nu lohm sel David, elos in unilya ke lenelik. Michal, mutan kial David, el sensenkakinul ac fahk, “Kom fin tia kaingla ofong, na lutu kom ac anwuki.”
12 And Michal let David down through the window: and he went, and fled, and escaped.
13 And Michal took an image, and put it in the bed, and a pillow of goats' hair she put for its head to rest on, and covered it with a cloth.
Na Michal el eis sie ma sruloala ac filiya fin bed kial David ah, ac sang sie ilul ma orek ke unen nani ac filiya ke sifa ah, na el sang kaot se afinya.
14 And when Saul sent messengers to take David, she said, He is sick.
Ke mwet lal Saul tuku in eisal David, Michal el fahk nu selos mu David el mas.
15 And Saul sent the messengers to see David, saying, Bring him up to me in the bed, that I may put him to death.
Na Saul el sifil folokunulosla tuh elos in sifacna liyal David ke mutalos, ac el sapkin nu selos, “Usalu na fin bed kial an, ac nga fah unilya.”
16 And when the messengers were come in, behold, there was an image in the bed, with a pillow of goats' hair for its head to rest on.
17 And Saul said unto Michal, Why hast thou thus deceived me, and sent away my enemy, that he is escaped? And Michal said to Saul, He said unto me, Let me go away: why should I kill thee?
Saul el siyuk sel Michal, “Efu ku kom kiapweyu ouinge, pwanang mwet lokoalok luk kaingla?” Michal el topuk, “El fahk mu el ac uniyuwi nga fin tia kasrel elan kaingla.”
18 So David fled, and escaped, and came unto Samuel to Ramah, and he told him all that Saul had done to him. And he and Samuel went and remained in Nayoth.
David el kaingla nu yorol Samuel in acn Ramah, ac fahkang ma nukewa ma Saul el oru nu sel. Na David ac Samuel som nu Naioth ac muta we.
19 And it was told unto Saul, saying, Behold, David is at Nayoth near Ramah.
Saul el lohngak lah David el oasr Naioth in Ramah,
20 And Saul sent messengers to take David; and when they saw the company of the prophets prophesying, and Samuel standing as superintendent over them: then came upon the messengers of Saul the spirit of God, and they also prophesied.
na el supwala kutu mwet in som ac sruokilya David. Na ngun lun God tuku ke ku nu fin mwet lal Saul inge, na elos wi pac tacn ac sasa.
21 And when it was told to Saul, he sent other messengers, and these prophesied likewise. And Saul sent again messengers the third time, and these also prophesied.
Ke Saul el lohngak lah ouinge, na el sifil supwala kutu mwet lal. Ke mwet inge elos tuku, elos wi pac tacn ac sasa.
22 Then went he himself also to Ramah, and came as far as the great well that is in Sechu: and he asked and said, Where are Samuel and David? And some one said, Behold, they are at Nayoth near Ramah.
Na Saul sifacna el mukuiyak in som nu Ramah. Ke el sun lufin kof lulap in acn Secu, el siyuk lah pia acn se Samuel ac David muta we. Fwackyang nu sel mu eltal oasr Naioth.
23 And he went thither to Nayoth near Ramah: and there came upon him also the Spirit of God, and he went on, and prophesied as he went, until he came to Nayoth near Ramah.
Ke el fahsr in som nu Naioth, ngun lun God tuku ke ku nu facl, ac el fahsr tacn ac sasa nwe ke na el sun acn Naioth.
24 And he also stripped off his clothes, and he also prophesied himself before Samuel, and lay down naked all that day and all that night. Therefore people are in the habit of saying, Is Saul too among the prophets?
El sarukla nuknuk lal ac tacn ac sasa ye mutal Samuel, ac el koflufolla oan in len sac nufon ac fong sac nufon. (Pa inge mutaweyen soakas se fahk mu, “Mea pwaye lah Saul el wela mwet palu?”)
