1 Kings 1
1 Now king David was old, stricken in years; and they covered him with clothes, but he could not become warm.
Agora o rei David era velho e avançado em anos; e eles o cobriam com roupas, mas ele não conseguia se manter aquecido.
2 Wherefore his servants said unto him, Let them seek out for my lord the king a young virgin, and let her stand before the king, and let her be an attendant on him; and let her lie in thy bosom, that my lord the king may become warm.
Por isso seus servos lhe disseram: “Que uma jovem virgem seja procurada por meu senhor, o rei”. Que ela fique diante do rei, e o acaricie; e que ela se deite em seu seio, para que meu senhor, o rei, se mantenha quente”.
3 So they sought for a fair maiden throughout all the territory of Israel; and they found Abishag the Shunammite, and brought her to the king.
Então eles procuraram por uma bela jovem em todas as fronteiras de Israel, e encontraram Abishag, a sunamita, e a trouxeram ao rei.
4 And the maiden was exceedingly fair; and she became an attendant on the king, and ministered to him; but the king knew her not.
A jovem era muito bonita; e ela estimava o rei e o servia; mas o rei não a conhecia intimamente.
5 And Adoniyah the son of Chaggith exalted himself, saying, I shall be king: and he procured himself a chariot and horsemen, and fifty men who ran before him.
Então Adonijah, o filho de Haggith, exaltou-se, dizendo: “Eu serei rei”. Em seguida, preparou-lhe carruagens e cavaleiros, e cinqüenta homens para correr diante dele.
6 And his father had never grieved him in all his life by saying, Why hast thou done so? and he also was of a very goodly form; and his mother had born him after Abshalom.
Seu pai não o havia desagradado em nenhum momento ao dizer: “Por que você fez isso?” e ele também era um homem muito bonito; e nasceu depois de Absalom.
7 And he had conferences with Joab the son of Zeruyah, and with Ebyathar the priest: and they, following Adoniyah, helped him.
Ele conferiu com Joab o filho de Zeruiah e com Abiathar o sacerdote; e eles seguiram Adonijah e o ajudaram.
8 But Zadok the priest, and Benayahu the son of Yehoyada', and Nathan the prophet, and Shim'i, and Re'i, and the mighty men that belonged to David, were not with Adoniyah.
Mas Zadoque, o sacerdote, Benaia, filho de Jeoiada, Nathan, o profeta, Shimei, Rei, e os homens poderosos que pertenciam a Davi, não estavam com Adonias.
9 And Adoniyah slaughtered sheep and oxen and fatted cattle by the stone Zocheleth, which is by 'En-rogel; and he invited all his brothers the king's sons, and all the men of Judah the king's servants;
Adonias matou ovelhas, gado e gordos pela pedra de Zoheleth, que está ao lado de En Rogel; e chamou todos os seus irmãos, os filhos do rei e todos os homens de Judá, os servos do rei;
10 But Nathan the prophet, and Benayahu, and the mighty men, and Solomon his brother, he invited not.
mas não chamou Natã, o profeta, e Benaías, e os homens poderosos, e Salomão, seu irmão.
11 And Nathan spoke unto Bath-sheba' the mother of Solomon, saying, Hast thou not heard that Adoniyah the son of Chaggith is become king, and [that] David our lord knoweth it not?
Então Nathan falou com Betsabá, a mãe de Salomão, dizendo: “Você não ouviu que Adonijah, o filho de Haggith, reina, e David, nosso senhor, não o sabe?
12 And now come, let me, I pray thee, give thee counsel, that thou mayest save thy own life, and the life of thy son Solomon.
Agora, portanto, venha, por favor, deixe-me aconselhá-lo, para que você possa salvar sua própria vida e a vida de seu filho Salomão.
13 Go and get thee in unto king David, and say unto him, Didst not thou, my lord, O king, swear unto thy hand-maid, saying, Assuredly, Solomon thy son shall reign after me, and only he shall sit upon my throne? why then is Adoniyah become king?
Ide ao rei David e dizei-lhe: 'Não juraste, meu senhor, o rei, a teu servo, dizendo: “Certamente Salomão, teu filho reinará depois de mim, e ele se sentará no meu trono? Por que, então, Adonias reina?
14 And, lo, while thou shalt be yet speaking there with the king, I myself will come in after thee, and confirm thy words.
Eis que, enquanto você ainda estiver falando com o rei, eu também irei atrás de você e confirmarei suas palavras”.
15 And Bath-sheba' went in unto the king into the chamber, and the king was very old; and Abishag the Shunammite was ministering unto the king.
Bathsheba foi até o rei em seu quarto. O rei era muito velho; e Abishag, o Shunammite, estava servindo ao rei.
16 And Bath-sheba' bowed, and prostrated herself unto the king: and the king said, What wouldst thou?
Betsabá fez uma vénia e mostrou respeito ao rei. O rei disse: “O que você gostaria?”.
17 And she said unto him, My lord, thou thyself didst swear by the Lord thy God unto thy hand-maid, Assuredly, Solomon thy son shall reign after me, and only he shall sit upon my throne.
Ela lhe disse: “Meu senhor, você jurou por Javé seu Deus a seu servo: 'Certamente Salomão, seu filho reinará depois de mim, e ele se sentará no meu trono'.
18 And now, behold, Adoniyah is become king; and now, my lord, O king, thou knowest it not:
Agora, eis que Adonias reina; e vós, meu senhor, o rei, não o sabeis.
19 And he hath slaughtered oxen and fatted cattle and sheep in abundance, and hath invited all the sons of the king, and Ebyathar the priest, and Joab the captain of the army; but Solomon thy servant hath he not invited.
Ele matou gado, gordos e ovelhas em abundância, e chamou todos os filhos do rei, Abiatar, o sacerdote, e Joab, o capitão do exército; mas ele não chamou Salomão de seu servo.
20 And as for thee, my lord, O king, the eyes of all Israel are upon thee, to tell them, who shall sit on the throne of my lord the king after him.
Vós, rei meu senhor, os olhos de todo Israel estão sobre vós, para que lhes digais quem se sentará no trono do rei meu senhor depois dele.
21 Otherwise it would come to pass, when my lord the king sleepeth with his fathers, that I and my son Solomon may be counted offenders.
Otherwise acontecerá, quando meu senhor o rei dormir com seus pais, que eu e meu filho Salomão seremos considerados criminosos”.
22 And, lo, while she was yet speaking with the king, Nathan the prophet also came in.
Eis que, enquanto ela ainda falava com o rei, Nathan, o profeta, entrou.
23 And they told the king, saying, Behold, here is Nathan the prophet: and when he was come in before the king, he prostrated himself before the king with his face to the ground.
Eles disseram ao rei, dizendo: “Eis Nathan, o profeta”! Quando ele chegou diante do rei, ele se curvou diante do rei com o rosto no chão.
24 And Nathan said, My lord, O king, hast thou then said, Adoniyah shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne?
Nathan disse: “Meu senhor, rei, você já disse: 'Adonias reinará depois de mim, e ele se sentará no meu trono...'
25 For he is gone down this day, and hath slaughtered oxen and fatted cattle and sheep in abundance, and hath invited all the king's sons, and the captains of the army, and Ebyathar the priest: and, behold, they are eating and drinking before him, and they say, Long live king Adoniyah.
Pois ele desceu hoje, e matou gado, gordos e ovelhas em abundância, e chamou todos os filhos do rei, os capitães do exército, e Abiathar, o sacerdote. Eis que eles estão comendo e bebendo diante dele, e dizendo: 'Viva o rei Adonias!
26 But as for me, me thy servant, and Zadok the priest, and Benayahu the son of Yehoyada', and thy servant Solomon, hath he not invited.
Mas ele não me chamou, nem mesmo a mim seu servo, Zadoque o sacerdote, Benaia o filho de Jehoiada, e seu servo Salomão.
27 Can it be that this hath been done by order of my lord the king, and thou hast not informed thy servant, who should sit on the throne of my lord the king after him?
Isto foi feito por meu senhor, o rei, e você não mostrou a seus servos que deveriam sentar-se no trono de meu senhor, o rei, depois dele”?
28 Then answered king David, and said, Call me Bath-sheba'; and she came into the king's presence, and stood before the king.
Então o rei David respondeu: “Chamem-me a Bathsheba”. Ela veio à presença do rei e se apresentou diante do rei.
29 And the king swore and said, As the Lord liveth, that hath redeemed my soul out of all distress,
O rei fez um voto e disse: “Como vive Javé, que redimiu minha alma de toda adversidade,
30 Even as I have sworn unto thee by the Lord the God of Israel, saying, Assuredly Solomon thy son shall reign after me, and only he shall sit upon my throne in my stead: even so will I certainly do this day.
most certamente como eu jurei a você por Javé, o Deus de Israel, dizendo: 'Certamente Salomão, seu filho, reinará depois de mim, e se sentará no meu trono no meu lugar;' certamente farei isso hoje”.
31 Then did Bath-sheba' bow herself with her face to the earth, and prostrate herself unto the king; and she said, May my lord, the king David, live for ever!
Então Betsabá se curvou com o rosto na terra e mostrou respeito ao rei, e disse: “Que meu senhor, o rei Davi, viva para sempre!
32 And king David said, Call unto me Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benayahu the son of Yehoyada'. And they came before the king.
O rei David disse: “Chame-me Zadok, o sacerdote, Nathan, o profeta, e Benaia, o filho de Jehoiada”. Eles vieram perante o rei.
33 And the king said unto them, Take with you the servants of your lord, and cause Solomon my son to ride upon my own mule, and conduct him down to Gichon:
O rei disse-lhes: “Levai convosco os servos de vosso senhor e fazei com que Salomão, meu filho, monte em minha própria mula e o traga a Gihon”.
34 And let Zadok the priest with Nathan the prophet anoint him there as king over Israel; and blow ye with the cornet, and say, Long live king Solomon.
Let Zadok, o sacerdote, e Nathan, o profeta, ungiram-no ali rei sobre Israel. Toca a trombeta e diz: “Viva o rei Salomão!
35 Then shall ye go up after him, and he shall come and sit upon my throne; and he shall be king in my stead: and him have I ordained to be ruler over Israel and over Judah.
Então suba atrás dele, e ele virá e se sentará no meu trono; pois ele será rei em meu lugar. Eu o nomeei príncipe sobre Israel e sobre Judá”.
36 And Benayahu the son of Yehoyada' answered the king, and said, Amen: May thus say the Eternal the God of my lord the king.
Benaiah, o filho de Jehoiada, respondeu ao rei, e disse: “Amém. Que Yahweh, o Deus de meu senhor, o rei, o diga.
37 As the Eternal hath been with my lord the king, even so may he be with Solomon, and may he make his throne greater than the throne of my lord the king David.
Assim como Javé tem estado com meu senhor, o rei, assim também ele possa estar com Salomão, e tornar seu trono maior do que o trono de meu senhor, o rei Davi”.
38 Thereupon Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benayahu the son of Yehoyada', and the Kerethites, and the Pelethites, went down, and caused Solomon to ride upon king David's mule, and conducted him to Gichon.
Então Zadok o padre, Nathan o profeta, Benaiah o filho de Jehoiada, e os queretitas e os peletitas desceram e mandaram Salomão montar na mula do rei Davi, e o trouxeram a Gihon.
39 And Zadok the priest took the horn of oil out of the tabernacle, and anointed Solomon. And they blew with the cornet; and all the people said, Long live king Solomon.
Zadok, o sacerdote, tirou o chifre de óleo da Tenda, e ungiu Salomão. Eles sopraram a trombeta; e todo o povo disse: “Viva o rei Salomão”!
40 And all the people went up after him, and the people blew on flutes, and rejoiced with great joy, so that the earth was rent at their noise.
Todas as pessoas vieram atrás dele, e as pessoas encanadas com tubos, e se alegraram com grande alegria, de modo que a terra tremeu com seu som.
41 And Adoniyah and all the guests that were with him heard it as they had just finished eating: and when Joab heard the sound of the cornet, he said, Wherefore is this noise of the city in an uproar?
Adonijah e todos os convidados que estavam com ele ouviram enquanto terminavam de comer. Quando Joab ouviu o som da trombeta, ele disse: “Por que este barulho da cidade está em alvoroço?”.
42 And while he was yet speaking, behold, Jonathan the son of Ebyathar the priest came in: and Adoniyah said [unto him], Come in; for thou art a worthy man, and must bring good tidings.
Enquanto ele ainda falava, eis que veio Jonathan, filho do sacerdote Abiathar; e Adonijah disse: “Entre; pois você é um homem digno, e traga boas novas”.
43 And Jonathan answered and said to Adoniyah, Alas, no; our lord king David hath made Solomon king;
Jonathan respondeu a Adonijah: “Certamente nosso senhor, o rei David, fez de Salomão rei.
44 And the king hath sent with him Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benayahu the son of Yehoyada', and the Kerethites, and the Pelethites, and they have caused him to ride upon the king's mule;
O rei enviou com ele Zadoque, o sacerdote, Nathan, o profeta, Benaia, filho de Jeoiada, e os queretitas e os peletitas; e eles o fizeram cavalgar na mula do rei.
45 And Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet have anointed him as king on the Gichon; and they are come up from there rejoicing, and the city hath been set in commotion. This is the noise that ye have heard.
Zadoque, o sacerdote, e Nathan, o profeta, ungiram-no rei em Gihon. Eles subiram de lá regozijando-se, de modo que a cidade tocou novamente. Este é o barulho que vocês ouviram.
46 And Solomon hath also sat on the kingly throne.
Também, Salomão senta-se no trono do reino.
47 And also the king's servants are come to bless our lord king David, saying, May God make the name of Solomon more famous than thy name, and make his throne greater than thy throne: and the king hath bowed himself upon the bed.
Além disso, os servos do rei vieram para abençoar nosso senhor, o rei Davi, dizendo: 'Que vosso Deus faça o nome de Salomão melhor que vosso nome, e faça seu trono maior que vosso trono'; e o rei se inclinou sobre a cama.
48 And also thus hath the king said, Blessed be the Lord the God of Israel, who hath given [me] this day one who sitteth on my throne, while my eyes see it.
Também assim disse o rei: 'Bendito seja Javé, o Deus de Israel, que hoje deu um para sentar-se no meu trono, meus olhos até mesmo vendo-o'”.
49 And all the guests that were with Adoniyah were terrified, and rose up, and went, every man, on his own way.
Todos os convidados de Adonijah tiveram medo, e se levantaram, e cada um seguiu seu caminho.
50 And Adoniyah was afraid because of Solomon; and he arose, and went, and caught hold on the horns of the altar.
Adonijah teve medo por causa de Salomão; e ele se levantou, e foi, e se agarrou aos chifres do altar.
51 And it was told unto Solomon, saying, Behold, Adoniyah feareth king Solomon; and, behold, he hath caught hold on the horns of the altar, saying, Let king Solomon swear unto me today that he will not slay his servant with the sword.
Foi dito a Salomão: “Eis que Adonias teme o rei Salomão; pois eis que ele está pendurado nos chifres do altar, dizendo: 'Que o rei Salomão me jure primeiro que não matará seu servo com a espada'”.
52 And Solomon said, If he will become a worthy man, there shall not a hair of his fall to the earth; but if any wrong shall be found on him, then shall he die.
Salomão disse: “Se ele se mostrar um homem digno, nem um fio de cabelo seu cairá na terra; mas se a maldade for encontrada nele, ele morrerá”.
53 So king Solomon sent, and they brought him down from the altar; and he came and bowed himself to king Solomon; and Solomon said unto him, Go to thy house.
Então o rei Salomão enviou, e eles o trouxeram do altar. Ele veio e se curvou diante do rei Salomão; e Salomão lhe disse: “Vá para sua casa”.
