1 Kings 10
1 And when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon in connection with the name of the Lord, she came to prove him with riddles.
Ko je kraljica iz Sabe slišala o Salomonovem slovesu glede Gospodovega imena, je prišla, da ga preizkusi s težkimi vprašanji.
2 And she came to Jerusalem with an exceedingly great train, with camels bearing spices, and gold in great abundance, and precious stones: and when she was come to Solomon, she spoke with him of all that was on her heart.
Prišla je v Jeruzalem z zelo velikim spremstvom, s kamelami, ki so nosile dišave, zelo veliko zlata in [z] dragocenimi kamni. Ko je prišla k Salomonu, se je z njim posvetovala o vsem, kar je bilo na njenem srcu.
3 And Solomon solved [for] her all her questions: nothing remained hidden from the king, which he did not tell her.
Salomon ji je povedal [odgovore na] vsa njena vprašanja. Ničesar ni bilo skritega pred kraljem, kar ji ne bi povedal.
4 And when the queen of Sheba saw all Solomon's wisdom, and the house that he had built,

5 And the food of his table, and the sitting of his servants, and the attendance of his ministers, and their apparel, and his cup-bearers, and his ascent by which he went up unto the house of the Lord: there was no more spirit in her.
hrano njegove mize, sedenje njegovih služabnikov in položaj njegovih strežnikov, njihovo obleko, njegove dvorne točaje in njegovo vzpenjanje, s katerim je odšel gor h Gospodovi hiši, v njej ni bilo več duha.
6 And she said to the king, The truth only was the word that I heard in my own land of thy acts and of thy wisdom.
Rekla je kralju: »Poročilo, ki sem ga slišala v svoji lastni deželi, o tvojih dejanjih in o tvoji modrosti, je bilo resnično.
7 And I believed not in the words, until I came, and my eyes saw [all]: and, behold, the half hath not been told me; thou excellest in wisdom and prosperity the report which I have heard.
Vendar nisem verjela besedam, dokler nisem prišla in so moje oči to videle. Glej, niti polovice mi niso povedali. Tvoja modrost in uspevanje presega sloves, ki sem ga slišala.
8 Happy are thy men, happy are these thy servants, who stand before thee continually, who hear thy wisdom.
Srečni so tvoji možje, srečni so ti tvoji služabniki, ki nenehno stojijo pred teboj in ki slišijo tvojo modrost.
9 Blessed be the Lord thy God, who hath had delight in thee, to place thee on the throne of Israel; because the Lord loveth Israel for ever, therefore hath he made thee king, to do justice and righteousness.
Blagoslovljen bodi Gospod, tvoj Bog, ki se je razveseljeval v tebi, da te je posadil na Izraelov prestol. Ker je Gospod na veke ljubil Izraela, zato te je postavil za kralja, da izvajaš sodbo in pravico.«
10 And she gave to the king one hundred and twenty talents of gold, and of spices a very great store, and precious stones: there came no more spices in such abundance as these which the queen of Sheba gave to king Solomon.
Kralju je izročila sto dvajset talentov zlata in od dišav zelo veliko zalogo in dragocene kamne. Tja ni prišlo več takšno obilje dišav kakor te, ki jih je kraljica iz Sabe dala kralju Salomonu.
11 And also the ship of Hiram, that fetched gold from Ophir, brought in from Ophir in great abundance sandal-wood and precious stones.
Prav tako je Hirámova mornarica, ki je iz Ofírja pripeljala zlato, iz Ofírja pripeljala veliko obilje sandalovine in dragocenih kamnov.
12 And the king made of the sandal-wood a railing for the house of the Lord, and for the king's house, and harps and psalteries for the singers: there came no such sandal-wood, nor was it seen [again] until this day.
Kralj je iz sandalovine naredil stebre za Gospodovo hišo in za kraljevo hišo, tudi harfe in plunke za pevce. Do tega dne tja ni prišlo nobene takšne sandalovine niti jih niso videli.
13 And king Solomon gave unto the queen of Sheba all her pleasure, whatsoever she asked, beside what Solomon gave her of his royal bounty. So she turned about and went to her own country, she and her servants.
Kralj Salomon je kraljici iz Sabe izročil vse njene želje, karkoli je prosila, poleg tega, kar ji je Salomon dal od svoje kraljeve radodarnosti. Tako se je obrnila in odšla v svojo lastno deželo, ona in njeni služabniki.
14 Now the weight of the gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred and sixty and six talents of gold,

15 Beside [what he had] of the traveling tradesmen, and of the traffic of the merchants, and of the kings of confederate nations, and of the governors of the country.

16 And king Solomon made two hundred targets of beaten gold: six hundred shekels of gold he used for each one target.
Kralj Salomon je naredil dvesto okroglih ščitov iz kovanega zlata. Šeststo šeklov zlata je šlo k enemu okroglemu ščitu.
17 And [he made] three hundred shields of beaten gold; three manehs of gold he used for each one shield: and the king put them in the house of the forest of Lebanon.
Naredil je tristo ščitov iz kovanega zlata. Tri funte zlata je šlo za en ščit. Kralj jih je postavil v hiši libanonskega gozda.
18 The king also made a great throne of ivory, and overlaid it with the best gold.
Poleg tega je kralj naredil velik prestol iz slonovine in ga prevlekel z najboljšim zlatom.
19 The throne had six steps, and there was a round top on the throne behind; and there were arms on either side on the place of the seat, and two lions stood beside the arms.
Prestol je imel šest stopnic in vrh prestola je bil zadaj okrogel. Na vsaki strani prestola sta bili naslonjali za roke in dva leva sta stala poleg naslonjal za roke.
20 And twelve lions stood there upon the six steps on both sides: there was not the like made in any other kingdom.

21 And all king Solomon's drinking-vessels were of gold, and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon were of pure gold; none were of silver; it was not valued in the days of Solomon at the least.
Vse Salomonove posode za pitje so bile iz zlata in vse posode hiše libanonskega gozda so bile iz čistega zlata, nobena ni bila iz srebra. V Salomonovih dneh le-to ni veljalo za nič.
22 For the king had a Tharshish-ship at sea with the ship of Hiram: once in three years the Tharshish-ship used to come home, laden with gold, and silver, ivory, and apes, and peacocks.
Kajti kralj je imel na morju taršíško mornarico s Hirámovo mornarico. Enkrat na tri leta je prišla mornarica iz Taršíša noseč zlato, srebro, slonovino, opice in pave.
23 And king Solomon became greater than all the kings of the earth for riches and for wisdom.
Tako je kralj Salomon zaradi bogastva in zaradi modrosti prekosil vse zemeljske kralje.
24 And [men of] all the earth sought the presence of Solomon to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart.
Vsa zemlja je iskala Salomona, da sliši njegovo modrost, ki jo je Bog položil v njegovo srce.
25 And they brought every man his present, vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and garments, and armor, and spices, horses, and mules: and so year by year.
Vsak mož je prinesel svoje darilo, posode iz srebra, posode iz zlata, obleke, bojno opremo, dišave, konje, mule in to leto za letom.
26 And Solomon gathered together chariots and horsemen: and he had a thousand and four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, whom he quartered in the cities for chariots, and near the king at Jerusalem.
Salomon je zbral skupaj bojne vozove in konjenike. Imel je tisoč štiristo bojnih voz in dvanajst tisoč konjenikov, ki jih je usmeril v mesta za bojne vozove in s kraljem v Jeruzalem.
27 And the king rendered the silver in Jerusalem like stones, and the cedars he rendered like the sycamore-trees that are in the lowlands, for abundance.

28 And Solomon had horses brought out of Egypt; and a company of the king's merchants bought a quantity at a price.
Salomon je imel konje, privedene iz Egipta in laneno prejo. Kraljevi trgovci so laneno prejo prejeli za ceno.
29 And a chariot-team came up and went out of Egypt for six hundred shekels of silver, and a horse for a hundred and fifty: and so for all the kings of the Hittites, and for the kings of Syria, did they bring them out by their means.
Bojni voz je prišel gor in se iz Egipta pripeljal za šeststo šeklov srebra, konj pa [za] sto petdeset. Tako so jih za vse hetejske kralje in za sirske kralje privedli ven z njihovimi sredstvi.
