1 Chronicles 29
1 And king David said unto all the assembly, Solomon, the only son of mine whom God hath made choice of, is yet young and tender, and the work is great; because not for man is the palace to be, but for the Lord God.
Vua Đa-vít bảo toàn thể hội chúng: “Sa-lô-môn, con trai ta là người duy nhất mà Đức Chúa Trời chọn, hãy còn trẻ tuổi, thiếu kinh nghiệm. Công việc trước mắt người thật to lớn, vì đây không phải Đền Thờ cho người, nhưng cho chính Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời!
2 But with all my might have I made ready for the house of my God, the gold for the things of gold, and the silver for the things of silver, and the copper for the things of copper, the iron for the things of iron, and the wood for the things of wood, onyx stones, and stones to be set, bright stones, and stones of divers colors, and all manner of precious stones, and marble stones in abundance.
Ta đã cố gắng hết sức chuẩn bị vật liệu cần thiết để xây cất Đền Thờ cho Đức Chúa Trời ta. Nào vàng, bạc, đồng, sắt, và gỗ, rất nhiều ngọc mã não, ngọc khảm, ngọc chiếu sáng, ngọc đủ màu, các thứ đá quý và cẩm thạch.
3 Moreover, because I have set my affection on the house of my God, have I acquired as my own property gold and silver; [and this] have I given to the house of my God, over and above all that I have prepared for the holy house:
Do lòng sốt sắng của ta đối với Đền Thờ Đức Chúa Trời, ngoài vật liệu đã chuẩn bị, ta dâng vào vàng bạc riêng của ta cho việc xây cất.
4 Three thousand talents of gold, of the gold of Ophir, and seven thousand talents of refined silver, to overlay the walls of the houses;
Ta sẽ dâng 112 tấn vàng ô-phia, 262 tấn bạc tinh chế để lát tường.
5 All that is needed of gold and of silver, and for every manner of work [to be made] by the hands of artificers. And who [now] is willing to consecrate his hand this day unto the Lord?
Và vàng bạc này còn dùng để chế dụng cụ do các nghệ nhân thực hiện. Bây giờ, ai là người theo gương ta và hiến dâng lên Chúa Hằng Hữu?”
6 Thereupon offered voluntarily the chiefs of the family divisions and the princes of the tribes of Israel, and the captains of the thousands and of the hundreds, with the supervisors of the king's work;
Lúc ấy, các trưởng gia tộc, trưởng đại tộc của Ít-ra-ên, các tướng lãnh và thủ lãnh quân đội, và các lãnh đạo chính quyền tự nguyện
7 And they gave for the service of the house of God of gold five thousand talents and ten thousand drachms, and of silver ten thousand talents, and of copper eighteen thousand talents, and of iron one hundred thousand talents.
dâng vào Đền Thờ của Đức Chúa Trời 188 tấn vàng, 10.000 đồng tiền vàng, 375 tấn bạc, 675 tấn đồng, 3.750 tấn sắt.
8 And those with whom stones were found gave them to the treasury of the house of the Lord, under the supervision of Jechiel the Gershunite.
Họ cũng dâng nhiều ngọc và đá quý vào kho ngân khố Chúa Hằng Hữu, do Giê-hi-ên, dòng dõi Ghẹt-sôn thu giữ.
9 Then did the people rejoice, because they had voluntarily offered: for with an undivided heart did they offer to the Lord: and also king David rejoiced with great joy.
Mọi người đều vui mừng vì đã tự nguyện và hết lòng dâng hiến lên Chúa Hằng Hữu, Vua Đa-vít cũng hết sức vui mừng.
10 And David blessed the Lord before the eyes of all the congregation; and David said, Blessed be thou, O Lord the God of Israel our father, from everlasting even unto everlasting.
Trước mặt toàn thể hội chúng, Đa-vít dâng lời ngợi tôn Chúa Hằng Hữu: “Ngợi tôn Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời của Ít-ra-ên, tổ tiên chúng con, đời đời mãi mãi!
11 Thine, O Lord, are the greatness, and the might, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty, yea, all that is in the heavens and on the earth: thine, O Lord, is the kingdom, and thou art exalted as the head above all.
Lạy Chúa Hằng Hữu, sự cao trọng, quyền năng, vinh quang, chiến thắng, uy nghi đều thuộc về Ngài. Mọi vật trên trời và dưới đất đều là của Ngài. Lạy Chúa Hằng Hữu, đây là nước của Ngài. Chúng con ngợi tôn Ngài là Chúa Tể muôn vật.
12 And riches and honor come from thee, and thou rulest over all; and in thy hand are power and might; and it is in thy hand to make great, and to give strength unto all.
Giàu có và vinh quang đều đến từ Chúa, vì Chúa quản trị trên muôn loài. Tay Chúa ban phát quyền năng và sức mạnh, Chúa cho tất cả được cao trọng và hùng mạnh.
13 And now, O our God, we give thanks unto thee, and praise thy glorious name.
Lạy Đức Chúa Trời chúng con, chúng con xin cảm tạ và ngợi tôn Danh vinh quang của Ngài!
14 For who am I, and what is my people, that we should possess the power to offer voluntarily after this sort? for from thee is every thing, and out of thy own have we given unto thee.
Nhưng con là ai, dân tộc con là gì mà chúng con dám tự nguyện dâng tài vật cho Chúa? Mọi vật đều thuộc về Chúa, chúng con chỉ dâng cho Ngài vật sở hữu của Ngài!
15 For strangers are we before thee, and sojourners, as were all our fathers: like a shadow are our days on the earth, and there is no hope [of abiding].
Chúng con chỉ là kẻ tạm trú, là khách lạ trên mảnh đất này như tổ tiên chúng con khi trước. Những ngày chúng con sống trên đất như bóng, không hy vọng gì.
16 O Lord our God! all this abundant store which we have prepared to build for thee a house for thy holy name, is out of thy own hand, and thine is all.
Lạy Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời chúng con, tất cả những vật liệu chúng con gom góp để xây Đền Thờ cho Danh Thánh Chúa đều đến từ Chúa! Tất cả đều là của Ngài!
17 And I know, my God, that thou probest the heart, and uprightness thou receivest in favor. As for me, in the uprightness of my heart have I voluntarily offered all these things; and now thy people, that are present here, do I see with joy offering voluntarily unto thee.
Lạy Đức Chúa Trời, con biết Chúa dò xét lòng người, hài lòng vì con dân Ngài ngay thật. Con chân thành tự nguyện dâng hiến các vật này, và biết rõ dân Chúa vui vẻ tự nguyện dâng lên Ngài.
18 O Lord, God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, our father, preserve this for ever as the imagination of the thoughts of the heart of thy people, and direct their heart firmly unto thee.
Lạy Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời của Áp-ra-ham, Y-sác, và Ít-ra-ên, tổ phụ chúng con, xin hãy giữ cho dân Chúa luôn luôn có ý hướng, tư tưởng tốt đẹp như thế, và lòng họ luôn luôn yêu mến Chúa.
19 And unto Solomon my son do thou give an undivided heart to keep thy commandments, thy testimonies, and thy statutes, and to do all, and to build the palace, for which I have made preparation.
Cũng cho Sa-lô-môn, con trai con có lòng chính trực để vâng giữ trọn vẹn điều răn, luật lệ Chúa, và xây cất Đền Thờ mà con đã sắm sửa vật liệu.”
20 And David said to all the assembly. Bless now the Lord your God. And all the assembly blessed the Lord the God of their fathers, and bent down their heads, and prostrated themselves to the Lord, and to the king.
Đa-vít kêu gọi cả hội chúng: “Hãy ngợi tôn Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời chúng ta!” Mọi người đều ngợi tôn Chúa Hằng Hữu, là Đức Chúa Trời của tổ tiên họ, họ cúi đầu và sấp mình trước Chúa Hằng Hữu và vua.
21 And they sacrificed sacrifices unto the Lord, and they offered burnt-offerings unto the Lord, on the morrow after that day, one thousand bullocks, a thousand rams, a thousand sheep, with their drink-offerings, and [other] sacrifices in abundance for all Israel;
Ngày hôm sau, họ dâng 1.000 con bò đực, 1.000 con chiên đực và 1.000 con chiên con làm tế lễ thiêu cho Chúa Hằng Hữu. Họ cũng dâng lễ quán và các lễ vật khác cho toàn dân Ít-ra-ên.
22 And they ate and drank before the Lord on that day with great joy. And they declared the second time Solomon the son of David to be king, and they anointed him unto the Lord as chief ruler, and Zadok as priest.
Hôm ấy, họ ăn uống vui vẻ trước mặt Chúa Hằng Hữu. Một lần nữa, họ lập Sa-lô-môn, con trai Đa-vít, làm vua. Trước mặt Chúa Hằng Hữu, họ xức dầu tôn ông làm người lãnh đạo họ, và Xa-đốc làm thầy tế lễ.
23 Then sat Solomon on the throne of the Lord as king instead of David his father, and he was prosperous; and all Israel obeyed him.
Như thế, Chúa Hằng Hữu đặt Sa-lô-môn lên ngôi vua, kế vị Đa-vít. Vua được thịnh vượng và toàn dân Ít-ra-ên đều thuận phục vua.
24 And all the princes, and the mighty men, and also all the sons of king David, submitted themselves unto king Solomon.
Các quan tướng, các quân nhân, và các con trai của Vua Đa-vít đều trung thành với Vua Sa-lô-môn.
25 And the Lord made Solomon exceedingly great before the eyes of all Israel; and he bestowed upon him a royal majesty such as had not been on any king over Israel before him.
Chúa Hằng Hữu cho Sa-lô-môn được toàn dân Ít-ra-ên tôn trọng, được giàu mạnh và rực rỡ hơn các vua trước trong Ít-ra-ên.
26 Thus did David the son of Jesse reign over all Israel.
Đa-vít, con trai Gie-sê, cai trị trên cả Ít-ra-ên.
27 And the time that he reigned over Israel was forty years: in Hebron he reigned seven years, and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty and three [years].
Ông cai trị trên Ít-ra-ên được bốn mươi năm, bảy năm tại Hếp-rôn, và ba mươi ba năm tại Giê-ru-sa-lem.
28 And he died in a good old age, full of days, riches, and honor: and Solomon his son became king in his stead.
Vua qua đời lúc về già, đầy giàu sang, vinh quang. Con trai ông là Sa-lô-môn kế vị.
29 And the acts of king David, the first and the last, behold, they are written in the history of Samuel the seer, and in the history of Nathan the prophet, and in the history of Gad the seer,
Các việc làm của Vua Đa-vít, từ đầu đến cuối, đều được chép trong Các Sách của Nhà Tiên Kiến Sa-mu-ên, Các Sách của Tiên Tri Na-than, và Các Sách của Nhà Tiên Kiến Gát.
30 Together with all his reign and his mighty deeds, and the times that passed over him, and over Israel, and over all the kingdoms of the [various] countries.
Các sách này ghi chép các chính sách, mô tả sự hùng cường, và tường thuật các diễn biến và sinh hoạt dưới triều đại Đa-vít trong nước Ít-ra-ên và các nước láng giềng.
