1 Chronicles 29
1 And king David said unto all the assembly, Solomon, the only son of mine whom God hath made choice of, is yet young and tender, and the work is great; because not for man is the palace to be, but for the Lord God.
Τότε είπεν ο βασιλεύς Δαβίδ προς πάσαν την σύναξιν, Σολομών ο υιός μου, τον οποίον μόνον εξέλεξεν ο Θεός, είναι έτι νέος και απαλός· το δε έργον μέγα· διότι δεν είναι διά άνθρωπον η οικοδομή, αλλά διά Κύριον τον Θεόν.
2 But with all my might have I made ready for the house of my God, the gold for the things of gold, and the silver for the things of silver, and the copper for the things of copper, the iron for the things of iron, and the wood for the things of wood, onyx stones, and stones to be set, bright stones, and stones of divers colors, and all manner of precious stones, and marble stones in abundance.
Εγώ λοιπόν ητοίμασα καθ' όλην την δύναμίν μου διά τον οίκον του Θεού μου, τον χρυσόν διά τα χρυσά και τον άργυρον διά τα αργυρά και τον χαλκόν διά τα χάλκινα, τον σίδηρον διά τα σιδηρά και ξύλα διά τα ξύλινα, ονυχίτας λίθους και λίθους ενθέσεως, λίθους λαμπρούς και ποικίλους και παντός είδους πολυτίμους λίθους και μάρμαρα άφθονα.
3 Moreover, because I have set my affection on the house of my God, have I acquired as my own property gold and silver; [and this] have I given to the house of my God, over and above all that I have prepared for the holy house:
Και έτι διά τον πόθον μου εις τον οίκον του Θεού μου, και εκ των ιδίων μου υπαρχόντων έδωκα περιπλέον χρυσίον και αργύριον διά τον οίκον του Θεού μου, εκτός παντός εκείνου το οποίον ητοίμασα διά τον οίκον τον άγιον·
4 Three thousand talents of gold, of the gold of Ophir, and seven thousand talents of refined silver, to overlay the walls of the houses;
τρεις χιλιάδας τάλαντα χρυσίου, εκ του χρυσίου Οφείρ, και επτά χιλιάδας τάλαντα κεκαθαρισμένου αργυρίου, διά να περισκεπάσωσι τους τοίχους των οίκων·
5 All that is needed of gold and of silver, and for every manner of work [to be made] by the hands of artificers. And who [now] is willing to consecrate his hand this day unto the Lord?
το χρυσίον διά τα χρυσά, και το αργύριον διά τα αργυρά, και διά πάσαν εργασίαν γινομένην διά των χειρών των τεχνιτών. Τις λοιπόν προθυμείται να κάμη σήμερον προσφοράν εις τον Κύριον;
6 Thereupon offered voluntarily the chiefs of the family divisions and the princes of the tribes of Israel, and the captains of the thousands and of the hundreds, with the supervisors of the king's work;
Τότε οι άρχοντες των πατριών και οι άρχοντες των φυλών του Ισραήλ και οι χιλίαρχοι και οι εκατόνταρχοι και οι επίσταται των έργων του βασιλέως, επροθυμήθησαν·
7 And they gave for the service of the house of God of gold five thousand talents and ten thousand drachms, and of silver ten thousand talents, and of copper eighteen thousand talents, and of iron one hundred thousand talents.
και έδωκαν διά το έργον του οίκου του Θεού, χρυσίου πεντακισχίλια τάλαντα και δέκα χιλιάδας χρυσών, και αργυρίου δέκα χιλιάδας ταλάντων, και χαλκού δεκαοκτώ χιλιάδας ταλάντων, και εκατόν χιλιάδας ταλάντων σιδήρου.
8 And those with whom stones were found gave them to the treasury of the house of the Lord, under the supervision of Jechiel the Gershunite.
Και εις όσους ευρέθησαν λίθοι τίμιοι, έδωκαν αυτούς εις το θησαυροφυλάκιον του οίκου του Κυρίου διά χειρός Ιεχιήλ του Γηρσωνίτου.
9 Then did the people rejoice, because they had voluntarily offered: for with an undivided heart did they offer to the Lord: and also king David rejoiced with great joy.
Εχάρη δε ο λαός, διότι επροθυμήθησαν, επειδή με πλήρη καρδίαν προσέφεραν αυτοπροαιρέτως εις τον Κύριον· και ο βασιλεύς Δαβίδ έτι εχάρη χαράν μεγάλην.
10 And David blessed the Lord before the eyes of all the congregation; and David said, Blessed be thou, O Lord the God of Israel our father, from everlasting even unto everlasting.
Και ευλόγησεν ο Δαβίδ τον Κύριον ενώπιον πάσης της συνάξεως· και είπεν ο Δαβίδ, Ευλογητός συ, Κύριε ο Θεός του Ισραήλ, ο πατήρ ημών, από του αιώνος και έως του αιώνος.
11 Thine, O Lord, are the greatness, and the might, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty, yea, all that is in the heavens and on the earth: thine, O Lord, is the kingdom, and thou art exalted as the head above all.
Σού, Κύριε, είναι η μεγαλωσύνη και η δύναμις και η τιμή και η νίκη και η δόξα· διότι σου είναι πάντα τα εν ουρανώ και τα επί γής· σου η βασιλεία, Κύριε, και συ είσαι ο υψούμενος ως κεφαλή υπεράνω πάντων·
12 And riches and honor come from thee, and thou rulest over all; and in thy hand are power and might; and it is in thy hand to make great, and to give strength unto all.
και ο πλούτος και η δόξα παρά σου έρχονται, και συ δεσπόζεις των απάντων· και εις την χείρα σου είναι η ισχύς και η δύναμις· και εις την χείρα σου το να μεγαλύνης και να ισχυροποιής τα πάντα.
13 And now, O our God, we give thanks unto thee, and praise thy glorious name.
Τώρα λοιπόν, Θεέ ημών, ημείς ευχαριστούμέν σε και υμνούμεν το ένδοξον όνομά σου.
14 For who am I, and what is my people, that we should possess the power to offer voluntarily after this sort? for from thee is every thing, and out of thy own have we given unto thee.
Αλλά τις είμαι εγώ, και τις ο λαός μου, ώστε να δυνηθώμεν να προσφέρωμεν προθύμως εις σε κατά ταύτα; διότι τα πάντα έρχονται εκ σου και εκ των σων δίδομεν εις σε.
15 For strangers are we before thee, and sojourners, as were all our fathers: like a shadow are our days on the earth, and there is no hope [of abiding].
Διότι είμεθα ξένοι ενώπιόν σου και πάροικοι, καθώς πάντες οι πατέρες ημών· αι ημέραι ημών επί της γης είναι ως σκιά, και μονιμότης δεν υπάρχει.
16 O Lord our God! all this abundant store which we have prepared to build for thee a house for thy holy name, is out of thy own hand, and thine is all.
Κύριε Θεέ ημών, άπαν τούτο το πλήθος, το οποίον ητοιμάσαμεν διά να οικοδομήσωμεν οίκον εις σε διά το όνομά σου το άγιον, εκ της χειρός σου έρχεται, και σου είναι τα πάντα.
17 And I know, my God, that thou probest the heart, and uprightness thou receivest in favor. As for me, in the uprightness of my heart have I voluntarily offered all these things; and now thy people, that are present here, do I see with joy offering voluntarily unto thee.
Και γνωρίζω, Θεέ μου, ότι συ είσαι ο δοκιμάζων την καρδίαν και αρέσκεσαι εις την ευθύτητα. Εγώ εν ευθύτητι της καρδίας μου προσέφερα πάντα ταύτα· και τώρα είδον μετ' ευφροσύνης τον λαόν σου, τον ενταύθα παρόντα, ότι αυτοπροαιρέτως προσφέρει εις σε.
18 O Lord, God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, our father, preserve this for ever as the imagination of the thoughts of the heart of thy people, and direct their heart firmly unto thee.
Κύριε Θεέ του Αβραάμ, του Ισαάκ και του Ισραήλ, των πατέρων ημών, φύλαττε τούτο διά παντός εις τους διαλογισμούς της καρδίας του λαού σου, και κατεύθυνε την καρδίαν αυτών προς σέ·
19 And unto Solomon my son do thou give an undivided heart to keep thy commandments, thy testimonies, and thy statutes, and to do all, and to build the palace, for which I have made preparation.
και δος εις τον Σολομώντα τον υιόν μου καρδίαν τελείαν, διά να φυλάττη τας εντολάς σου, τα μαρτύριά σου και τα προστάγματά σου, και να εκτελή τα πάντα και να κατασκευάση την οικοδομήν, την οποίαν προητοίμασα.
20 And David said to all the assembly. Bless now the Lord your God. And all the assembly blessed the Lord the God of their fathers, and bent down their heads, and prostrated themselves to the Lord, and to the king.
Και είπεν ο Δαβίδ προς πάσαν την σύναξιν, Ευλογήσατε τώρα Κύριον τον Θεόν σας. Και πάσα η σύναξις ευλόγησε Κύριον τον Θεόν των πατέρων αυτών και κύψαντες, προσεκύνησαν τον Κύριον και τον βασιλέα.
21 And they sacrificed sacrifices unto the Lord, and they offered burnt-offerings unto the Lord, on the morrow after that day, one thousand bullocks, a thousand rams, a thousand sheep, with their drink-offerings, and [other] sacrifices in abundance for all Israel;
Και την ακόλουθον ημέραν εθυσίασαν θυσίας εις τον Κύριον και προσέφεραν ολοκαυτώματα προς τον Κύριον, χιλίους μόσχους, χιλίους κριούς, χίλια αρνία, και τας σπονδάς αυτών και θυσίας αφθόνους διά πάντα τον Ισραήλ·
22 And they ate and drank before the Lord on that day with great joy. And they declared the second time Solomon the son of David to be king, and they anointed him unto the Lord as chief ruler, and Zadok as priest.
και έφαγον και έπιον ενώπιον του Κυρίου την ημέραν εκείνην, εν χαρά μεγάλη. Και εκήρυξαν εκ δευτέρου Σολομώντα τον υιόν του Δαβίδ βασιλέα, και έχρισαν αυτόν εις τον Κύριον, διά να ήναι άρχων, και τον Σαδώκ διά ιερέα.
23 Then sat Solomon on the throne of the Lord as king instead of David his father, and he was prosperous; and all Israel obeyed him.
Τότε ο Σολομών εκάθησεν επί του θρόνου του Κυρίου βασιλεύς αντί Δαβίδ του πατρός αυτού, και ευημέρησε· και πας ο Ισραήλ υπήκουσεν εις αυτόν.
24 And all the princes, and the mighty men, and also all the sons of king David, submitted themselves unto king Solomon.
Και πάντες οι άρχοντες και οι δυνατοί και πάντες έτι οι υιοί του βασιλέως Δαβίδ υπετάχθησαν εις Σολομώντα τον βασιλέα.
25 And the Lord made Solomon exceedingly great before the eyes of all Israel; and he bestowed upon him a royal majesty such as had not been on any king over Israel before him.
Και εμεγάλυνεν ο Κύριος εις άκρον τον Σολομώντα έμπροσθεν παντός του Ισραήλ, και έθεσεν επ' αυτόν μεγαλειότητα βασιλικήν, οποία δεν εστάθη εις ουδένα βασιλέα προ αυτού εν τω Ισραήλ.
26 Thus did David the son of Jesse reign over all Israel.
Ούτω Δαβίδ ο υιός του Ιεσσαί εβασίλευσεν επί πάντα τον Ισραήλ·
27 And the time that he reigned over Israel was forty years: in Hebron he reigned seven years, and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty and three [years].
και ο καιρός τον οποίον εβασίλευσεν επί τον Ισραήλ ήτο τεσσαράκοντα έτη· επτά έτη εβασίλευσεν εν Χεβρών και τριάκοντα τρία εβασίλευσεν εν Ιερουσαλήμ.
28 And he died in a good old age, full of days, riches, and honor: and Solomon his son became king in his stead.
Και ετελεύτησεν εις γήρας καλόν, πλήρης ημερών, πλούτου και δόξης· και εβασίλευσεν αντ' αυτού Σολομών ο υιός αυτού.
29 And the acts of king David, the first and the last, behold, they are written in the history of Samuel the seer, and in the history of Nathan the prophet, and in the history of Gad the seer,
Αι δε πράξεις του βασιλέως Δαβίδ, αι πρώται και αι τελευταίαι ιδού, είναι γεγραμμέναι εν τω βιβλίω Σαμουήλ του βλέποντος, και εν τω βιβλίω Νάθαν του προφήτου, και εν τω βιβλίω Γαδ του βλέποντος,
30 Together with all his reign and his mighty deeds, and the times that passed over him, and over Israel, and over all the kingdoms of the [various] countries.
μετά πάσης αυτού της βασιλείας και της δυνάμεως αυτού και των καιρών, οίτινες παρήλθον επ' αυτόν και επί τον Ισραήλ και επί πάσας τας βασιλείας της γης.
