1 Chronicles 26

1 Concerning the divisions of the gatekeepers [who were] of the Korchites: Meshelemyahu the son of Kore, of the sons of Assaph.

Ceux à qui les portes furent distribuées, étaient les fils de Coré, Mosellamia, de la famille d'Asaph.

2 And Meshelemyahu had sons: Zecharyahu the first-born, Jedi'ael the second, Zebaiyahu the third, Jathniel the fourth,

Et les fils de Mosellamia: Zacharie le premier-né, Jadiel le second, Zabadie le troisième, Jénuel le quatrième,

3 Elam the fifth, Jehochanan the sixth, Elyeho'enal the seventh,

Jolam le cinquième, Jonathan le sixième, Elionai le septième, Abdedom le huitième.

4 And 'Obed-edom had sons: Shema'yah the first-born, Jehosabad the second, Joach the third, and Sachar the fourth, and Nethanel the fifth,

Et les fils d'Abdedom: Samaias le premier-né, Jozabath le second, Joath le troisième, Sachar le quatrième, Nathanaél le cinquième,

5 'Ammiel the sixth, Issachar the seventh, Pe'ulthai the eighth; for God had blessed him.

Amiel le sixième, Issachar le septième, Phelathi le huitième; car Dieu l'avait béni.

6 Also unto Shema'yah his son there were born sons, that were rulers for the house of their father; for they were mighty men of valor.

Et à son premier fils Samaïas, des fils naquirent, et furent chefs dans leur famille, parce qu'ils étaient forts

7 The sons of Shema'yah were 'Othni, and Rephael, and 'Obed, [and] Elsahad, his brothers [were] valiant men, Elihu, and Semachyahu.

Fils de Samaï: Otbni, Raphaël, Obed, Elzabath, Achiud, tous hommes forts, Elia, Sabachias et Isbacom.

8 All these were of the sons of 'Obed-edom: they and their sons and their brethren were valiant men in strength for the service, being sixty and two [descendants] of 'Obed-edom.

Tous issus d'Abdedom; eux, et leurs fils et leurs frères, remplissant avec énergie leurs fonctions, au nombre de soixante-deux, issus d'Abdedom.

9 And Meshelemyahu had sons and brethren, valiant men, eighteen.

Mosellemia avait dix-huit fils et frères, tous hommes forts.

10 Also Chossah, of the children of Merari, had sons: Shimri the chief, for [though] he was not the first-born, yet his father made him the chief;

Et les fils d'Osa, issu de Mérari, et qui n'était pas le premier-né, commandaient ce service; son père lui donna le commandement de la deuxième division.

11 Chilkiyahu the second, Tehalyahu the third, Zecharyahu the fourth; all the sons and brethren of Chossah were thirteen.

Helcias venait après lui, Tablé était le troisième, Zacharie le quatrième; les fils et les frères d'Osa étaient en tout: treize.

12 These divisions of the gatekeepers, after the chief men, had the watch along with their brethren, to minister in the house of the Lord.

C'est entre eux que furent partagées les portes; chefs énergiques, servant avec autant de zèle que leurs frères, employés dans l'intérieur du temple.

13 And they cast lots, the small as well as the great, according to their family divisions, for each and every gate.

Et ils tirèrent au sort les portes où ils devaient être placés, après qu'on les eut classés, selon leur plus ou moins de force, par familles paternelles.

14 And the lot at the east fell for Shelemyahu. And for Zecharyahu his son, an intelligent counsellor, they cast lots, and his lot came out at the north.

Le sort désigna, pour la porte orientale, Sélémie et Zacharie; ensuite, les fils de Soaz, issu de Melchia, agitèrent les sorts, et celui de la porte du nord sortit.

15 For 'Obed-edom at the south; and to his sons [was assigned] the house of Assuppim.

Abdedom eut la porte du midi, en face de la maison d'Esephim.

16 For Shuppim and for Chossah at the west, by the gate Shallecheth, on the ascending causeway, watch alongside of watch.

Osa eut la seconde porte du côté de l'orient, après celle qui mène au vestibule des degrés; un garde vis-à-vis l'autre garde.

17 At the east were six Levites, at the north four for every day, at the south four for every day, and for [the house of] Assuppim always two.

Il y avait chaque jour six hommes à la porte orientale, quatre à celle du nord, quatre à celle du midi et deux à Esephim,

18 At the Parbar on the west, four at the causeway, and two at the Parbar.

Pour la relève, du côté du couchant quatre et deux à l'entrée du chemin.

19 These are the divisions of the gatekeepers of the sons of the Korchites, and of the sons of Merari.

Les portes étaient ainsi distribuées entre les fils dé Coré et ceux de Mérari.

20 And of the Levites, Achiyah was over the treasuries of the house of God, and over the treasuries of the holy things.

Et des lévites, leurs frères, gardaient le trésor de la demeure du Seigneur et le trésor des consécrations.

21 [As concerning] the sons of La'dan, the sons of the Gershunites of La'dan, the chiefs of the families of La'dan the Gershunite, were the Jechielites.

Ceux-là étaient fils de Ladan; ils étaient issus des fils de Gerson; les chefs des familles provenaient de Ladan, le fils de Ladan le Gersonite était Jehiel.

22 The sons of Jechieli, Zetham, and Joel his brother, were over the treasuries of the house of the Lord.

Zethom et Johel, son frère, fils de Jehiel, étaient intendants du trésor de la demeure du Seigneur,

23 Of the 'Amramites, of the Yizharites, of the Hebronites, and of the 'Uzzielites,

Avec les familles d'Amram, d'Issaar, d'Hébron et d'Oziel.

24 [Was] even Shebuel the son of Gershom, the son of Moses, superintendent of the treasuries.

Subael, issu de Gersam, fils de Moïse, était aussi intendant des trésors.

25 And his brethren by Eli'ezer: Rechabyahu his son, and Jesha'yahu his son, and Joram his son, and Zichri his son, and Shelomoth his son.

Or, Eliézer, l'un de ses proches, eut pour fils Rabias, de qui descendirent: Josias, Joram, Zéchri et Salomoth.

26 This Shelomoth and his brethren were over all the treasuries of the holy things, which king David had sanctified, together with the chiefs of the family divisions, the captains over the thousands and the hundreds, and the captains of the army.

Ce Salomoth et ses frères eurent l'intendance de tous les trésors saints, que consacrèrent le roi David et les chefs de familles paternelles, commandants de mille hommes, ou centeniers, ou princes de l'armée;

27 Out of the wars, and out of the booty did they sanctify to maintain the house of the Lord.

C'étaient les choses qu'ils avaient enlevées des villes prises sur l'ennemi, et consacrées pour subvenir aux frais de construction du temple de Dieu.

28 And all that Samuel the seer, and Saul the son of Kish, and Abner the son of Ner, and Joab the son of Zeruyah, had sanctified, whatsoever [any one] had sanctified, was under the supervision of Shelomoth and of his brethren.

Ainsi, tout ce qu'avait consacré Samuel le prophète; Saül, fils de Cis; Abner, fils de Ner; Joab, fils de Servie, fut confié à Salomoth et à ses frères.

29 Of the Yizharites were Kenanyahu and his sons for the outward business over Israel, for officers and judges.

Honnias, issu d'Isaar, et ses fils, furent chargés de fonctions extérieures en Israël; ils étaient scribes et juges.

30 Of the Hebronites were Chashabyahu and his brethren, valiant men, a thousand and seven hundred [in number], appointed over the affairs of Israel on this side of the Jordan to the west, for all the business of the Lord, and for the service of the king.

Asubias, issu d'Hébron, et ses frères, hommes forts, au nombre de dix- sept cents, avaient la surveillance d'Israël, sur la rive occidentale du Jourdain, pour tout ce qui concernait le service du Seigneur et le gouvernement du roi.

31 Of the Hebronites was Jeriyah the chief, for the Hebronites, according to their generations by families. In the fortieth year of the reign of David were they inquired into, and there were found among them mighty men of valor at Ja'zer of Gil'ad.

Urie était le chef de la postérité d'Hébron, par familles paternelles; or, la quarantième année du règne de David, elle fut recensée en Jazer-Galaad, et Urie fut reconnu vaillant.

32 And his brethren, valiant men, were two thousand and seven hundred chiefs of families: and king David appointed them over the Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half tribe of Menasseh, for every matter pertaining to God, and the affairs of the king.

Ses frères, les chefs de famille, au nombre de deux mille sept cents, étaient aussi des hommes forts; le roi les institua intendants de Ruben, de Gad et de la demi-tribu de Manassé, pour tout ce qui concernait les commandements du Seigneur et les ordres du roi.
