1 Chronicles 26
1 Concerning the divisions of the gatekeepers [who were] of the Korchites: Meshelemyahu the son of Kore, of the sons of Assaph.
Wat de groepen der poortwachters betreft: Tot de Korachieten behoorde Mesjelemjáhoe, de zoon van Kore, den zoon van Ebjasaf.
2 And Meshelemyahu had sons: Zecharyahu the first-born, Jedi'ael the second, Zebaiyahu the third, Jathniel the fourth,
De zonen van Mesjelemjáhoe waren: Zekarjáhoe de oudste; Jediaël, de tweede; Zebadjáhoe, de derde; Jatniël, de vierde;
3 Elam the fifth, Jehochanan the sixth, Elyeho'enal the seventh,
Elam, de vijfde; Jehochanan, de zesde; Eljehoënai, de zevende.
4 And 'Obed-edom had sons: Shema'yah the first-born, Jehosabad the second, Joach the third, and Sachar the fourth, and Nethanel the fifth,
De zonen van Obed-Edom waren Sjemaja, de oudste; Jehozabad, de tweede; Joach, de derde; Sakar, de vierde; Netanel, de vijfde;
5 'Ammiel the sixth, Issachar the seventh, Pe'ulthai the eighth; for God had blessed him.
Ammiël, de zesde; Jissakar, de zevende; Peöelletai, de achtste; zo was hij door Jahweh gezegend!
6 Also unto Shema'yah his son there were born sons, that were rulers for the house of their father; for they were mighty men of valor.
Zijn zoon Sjemaja kreeg kinderen, die familiehoofden werden; want het waren kloeke mannen.
7 The sons of Shema'yah were 'Othni, and Rephael, and 'Obed, [and] Elsahad, his brothers [were] valiant men, Elihu, and Semachyahu.
Het waren Otni, Refaël, Obed, Elzabad en Achjo, kloeke mannen; bovendien Elihoe en Semakjáhoe.
8 All these were of the sons of 'Obed-edom: they and their sons and their brethren were valiant men in strength for the service, being sixty and two [descendants] of 'Obed-edom.
Met hun zonen en broeders, twee en zestig in getal, waren het allen afstammelingen van Obed-Edom; kloeke mannen, voor hun ambt berekend.
9 And Meshelemyahu had sons and brethren, valiant men, eighteen.
Ook Mesjelemjáhoe had zonen en broeders, kloeke mannen, in het geheel achttien.
10 Also Chossah, of the children of Merari, had sons: Shimri the chief, for [though] he was not the first-born, yet his father made him the chief;
Tot de Merarieten behoorde Chosa. Zijn zonen waren Sjimri, het opperhoofd, die door zijn vader als opperhoofd aangesteld was, ofschoon hij niet de oudste was;
11 Chilkiyahu the second, Tehalyahu the third, Zecharyahu the fourth; all the sons and brethren of Chossah were thirteen.
Chilki-jáhoe was de tweede; Tebaljáhoe, de derde; Zekarjáhoe, de vierde; in het geheel had Chosa zestien zonen en broeders.
12 These divisions of the gatekeepers, after the chief men, had the watch along with their brethren, to minister in the house of the Lord.
De familiehoofden van deze groepen poortwachters kregen een taak toegewezen in de dienst van het huis van Jahweh, evenals hun andere stamgenoten.
13 And they cast lots, the small as well as the great, according to their family divisions, for each and every gate.
Om de verschillende poorten werd door de families het lot geworpen, door de mindere evengoed als door de voorname.
14 And the lot at the east fell for Shelemyahu. And for Zecharyahu his son, an intelligent counsellor, they cast lots, and his lot came out at the north.
Het oosten werd door het lot toegewezen aan Sjelemj hoe. Ook voor zijn zoon Zekarjáhoe, een verstandig raadsman, werd het lot geworpen; zijn lot viel op het noorden.
15 For 'Obed-edom at the south; and to his sons [was assigned] the house of Assuppim.
Obed-Edom lootte het zuiden, zijn zonen het magazijn.
16 For Shuppim and for Chossah at the west, by the gate Shallecheth, on the ascending causeway, watch alongside of watch.
Chosa lootte twee wachtposten naast elkaar in het westen bij de Sjalléketpoort aan de helling.
17 At the east were six Levites, at the north four for every day, at the south four for every day, and for [the house of] Assuppim always two.
Aan de oostkant stonden de hele dag zes levieten, aan de noordkant vier, aan de zuidkant vier, bij de magazijnen telkens twee,
18 At the Parbar on the west, four at the causeway, and two at the Parbar.
en bij de bijgebouwen aan de westkant vier aan de weg en twee bij de gebouwen.
19 These are the divisions of the gatekeepers of the sons of the Korchites, and of the sons of Merari.
Dit waren de groepen poortwachters uit de geslachten Kore, en Merari.
20 And of the Levites, Achiyah was over the treasuries of the house of God, and over the treasuries of the holy things.
Hun andere levietische stamgenoten beheerden de schatten van het huis Gods en de kostbare verzameling wijgeschenken.
21 [As concerning] the sons of La'dan, the sons of the Gershunites of La'dan, the chiefs of the families of La'dan the Gershunite, were the Jechielites.
De zoon van Ladan, den Gersjoniet, die met ladanietische familiehoofden door Ladan van Gersjon afstamde, was Jechiël.
22 The sons of Jechieli, Zetham, and Joel his brother, were over the treasuries of the house of the Lord.
De zonen van Jechiël waren Zetam en zijn broeder Joël. Dezen beheerden de schatten van het huis van Jahweh.
23 Of the 'Amramites, of the Yizharites, of the Hebronites, and of the 'Uzzielites,
Onder de afstammelingen van Amram, Jishar, Chebron en Oezziël,
24 [Was] even Shebuel the son of Gershom, the son of Moses, superintendent of the treasuries.
had Sjeboeël, een nakomeling van Gersjom, den zoon van Moses, het oppertoezicht op de voorraden.
25 And his brethren by Eli'ezer: Rechabyahu his son, and Jesha'yahu his son, and Joram his son, and Zichri his son, and Shelomoth his son.
De zoon van zijn neef Eliézer was Rechabjáhoe; de zoon van Rechabjáhoe was Jesjajáhoe; die van Jesjajáhoe was Joram; die van Joram was Zikri; die van Zikri was Sjelomit.
26 This Shelomoth and his brethren were over all the treasuries of the holy things, which king David had sanctified, together with the chiefs of the family divisions, the captains over the thousands and the hundreds, and the captains of the army.
Deze Sjelomit beheerde met zijn broeders heel de kostbare verzameling wijgeschenken, die koning David, de familiehoofden, de hoofden van duizend en van honderd, en de legeraanvoerders aan Jahweh gewijd hadden,
27 Out of the wars, and out of the booty did they sanctify to maintain the house of the Lord.
en die ze uit de oorlogsbuit als heilige gave hadden afgezonderd, om er het huis van Jahweh mee te verrijken.
28 And all that Samuel the seer, and Saul the son of Kish, and Abner the son of Ner, and Joab the son of Zeruyah, had sanctified, whatsoever [any one] had sanctified, was under the supervision of Shelomoth and of his brethren.
Ook alle wijgeschenken van den ziener Samuël, en van Saul den zoon van Kisj, en van Abner den zoon van Ner, en van Joab den zoon van Seroeja, kortom alle wijgeschenken werden beheerd door Sjelomit en zijn broeders.
29 Of the Yizharites were Kenanyahu and his sons for the outward business over Israel, for officers and judges.
Van de familie Jishar hadden Kenanjáhoe en zijn zonen een wereldlijk ambt in Israël: ze waren ambtenaren en rechters.
30 Of the Hebronites were Chashabyahu and his brethren, valiant men, a thousand and seven hundred [in number], appointed over the affairs of Israel on this side of the Jordan to the west, for all the business of the Lord, and for the service of the king.
Van de familie Chebron waren Chasjabjáhoe en zijn stamgenoten, zeventienhonderd kloeke mannen, belast met het bestuur van Israël, westelijk van de Jordaan, zowel voor alle aangelegenheden van Jahweh als voor de dienst des konings;
31 Of the Hebronites was Jeriyah the chief, for the Hebronites, according to their generations by families. In the fortieth year of the reign of David were they inquired into, and there were found among them mighty men of valor at Ja'zer of Gil'ad.
van de familie Chebron was Jeri-ja het hoofd van de geslachten en families, die van Chebron stamden. In het veertigste jaar van Davids regering werd er bij dezen een onderzoek ingesteld, en ze bleken over kloeke mannen te beschikken in Jazer van Gilad.
32 And his brethren, valiant men, were two thousand and seven hundred chiefs of families: and king David appointed them over the Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half tribe of Menasseh, for every matter pertaining to God, and the affairs of the king.
Ook zijn stamgenoten waren kloeke mannen, zeven en twintighonderd familiehoofden in het geheel. Koning David belastte hen met het bestuur van de stam Ruben en Gad en de halve stam Manasse, voor alle aangelegenheden van God en den koning.
