1 Chronicles 25

1 David also divided off with the chiefs of the host for the service of the sons of Assaph, and of Heman, and of Jeduthun, those who uttered praise [accompanied] with harps, with psalteries, and with cymbals: and their number was of the men [that did] the work in their service.

David et les princes de l’armée mirent à part, pour le service, des fils d’Asaph, de Héman et d’Idithun qui prophétisaient avec la harpe, la cithare et les cymbales. Voici leur nombre, — de ceux qui étaient occupés au service —:

2 Of the sons of Assaph: Zaccur, and Joseph, and Nethanyah, and Asharelah, the sons of Assaph under the supervision of Assaph, who uttered praise under the supervision of the king.

Des fils d’Asaph: Zacchur, Joseph, Nathania et Asaréla, fils d’Asaph, sous la direction d’Asaph, qui prophétisait selon les ordres du roi. —

3 Of Jeduthun, the sons of Jeduthun: Gedalyahu, and Zeri, and Jesha'yahu, Chashahyahu, and Matthithyahu, six, under the supervision of their father Jeduthun, who uttered praise with a harp, in order to give thanks and to utter praise unto the Lord.

D’Idithun, les fils d’Idithun: Godolias, Sori, Jéséïas, Hasabias, Mathathias et Séméi, six, selon les ordres de leur père Idithun, qui prophétisait avec la cithare pour célébrer et louer Yahweh. —

4 Of Heman, the sons of Heman: Bukkiyahu, Matthanyahu, 'Uzziel, Shebuel, and Jerimoth, Chananyah, Chanani, Eliathah, Giddalti, and Romamti-'ezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir, and Machaz'oth;

De Héman, les fils de Héman: Bocciaü, Mathaniaü, Oziel, Subuël, Jérimoth, Hananias, Hanani, Eliatha, Geddelthi, Romemthiézer, Jesbacassa, Mellothi, Othir et Mahazioth;

5 All these sons of Heman the king's seer in the words of God, were to lift up the horn. And God gave to Heman fourteen sons and three daughters.

ils étaient tous fils de Héman, voyant du roi dans les paroles de Dieu, pour exalter sa puissance: Dieu avait donné à Héman quatorze fils et trois filles.

6 All these were under the supervision of their father at the singing in the house of the Lord, with cymbals, psalteries, and harps, for the service of the house of God, under the supervision of the king, Assaph, Jeduthun, and Heman.

Tous ces lévites étaient sous les ordres de leurs pères pour le chant de la maison de Yahweh, ayant des cymbales, des cithares et des harpes pour le service de la maison de Dieu, sous les ordres de David, d’Asaph, d’Idithun et de Héman.

7 And their number, with their brethren that were practised in singing unto the Lord, even all that were acquainted [therewith], was two hundred eighty and eight.

Leur nombre, y compris leurs frères exercés à chanter Yahweh, tous ceux qui avaient de l’habileté, était de deux cent quatre-vingt-huit.

8 And they cast lots, division against [division], the small well as the great, the one acquainted with his business together with the scholar.

Ils tirèrent le sort pour leurs fonctions, petits et grands, maîtres et disciples.

9 And there came forth the first lot for Assaph for Joseph; Gedalyahu was the second, he with his brethren and sons, being twelve:

Le premier sort échut, pour Asaph, à Joseph; le second, à Godolias: lui, ses frères et ses fils: douze;

10 The third was Zaccur, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve:

le troisième, à Zachur: lui, ses fils et ses frères: douze;

11 The fourth was for Yizri, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

le quatrième, à Isari: lui, ses fils et ses frères: douze;

12 The fifth was Nethanyahu, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve:

le cinquième à Nathania: lui, ses fils et ses frères: douze;

13 The sixth was Bukkiyahu, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve:

le sixième à Bocciaü: lui, ses fils et ses frères: douze;

14 The seventh was Jessarelah, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

le septième à Isrééla: lui, ses fils et ses frères: douze;

15 The eighth was Jesha'yahu, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

le huitième à Jésaïas: lui, ses fils et ses frères: douze;

16 The ninth was Matthanyahu, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

le neuvième à Mathanias: lui, ses fils et ses frères: douze;

17 The tenth was Shim'i, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

le dixième à Séméïas: lui, ses fils et ses frères: douze;

18 The eleventh was 'Asarel, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

le onzième à Azaréel: lui, ses fils et ses frères: douze;

19 The twelfth was for Chashahyah, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

le douzième à Hasabias: lui, ses fils et ses frères: douze;

20 The thirteenth was Shuhael, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

le treizième à Subuël: lui, ses fils et ses frères: douze;

21 The fourteenth was Matthithyahu, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

le quatorzième à Mathathias: lui, ses fils et ses frères: douze;

22 The fifteenth was for Jeremoth, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

le quinzième à Jérimoth: lui, ses fils et ses frères: douze;

23 The sixteenth was for Chananyahu, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

le seizième à Hananias: lui, ses fils et ses frères: douze;

24 The seventeenth was for Joshbekashah, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

le dix-septième à Jesbacassa: lui, ses fils et ses frères: douze;

25 The eighteenth was for Chanani, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

le dix-huitième à Hanani: lui, ses fils et ses frères: douze;

26 The nineteenth was for Mallothi, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

27 The twentieth was for Eliyathah, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

28 The one and twentieth was for Hothir, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

29 The two and twentieth was for Giddalthi, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

30 The three and twentieth was for Machasioth, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

le vingt-troisième à Mahazioth: lui, ses fils et ses frères: douze;

31 The four and twentieth was for Romamthi-'eser, his sons and his brethren, being twelve.
