1 Chronicles 25

1 David also divided off with the chiefs of the host for the service of the sons of Assaph, and of Heman, and of Jeduthun, those who uttered praise [accompanied] with harps, with psalteries, and with cymbals: and their number was of the men [that did] the work in their service.

David et les chefs de l'armée mirent à part pour le service certains des fils d'Asaph, d'Héman et de Jeduthun, qui devaient prophétiser avec des harpes, des instruments à cordes et des cymbales. Le nombre de ceux qui firent l'ouvrage selon leur service fut:

2 Of the sons of Assaph: Zaccur, and Joseph, and Nethanyah, and Asharelah, the sons of Assaph under the supervision of Assaph, who uttered praise under the supervision of the king.

des fils d'Asaph: Zaccur, Joseph, Nethaniah, et Asharelah. Les fils d'Asaph étaient sous la direction d'Asaph, qui prophétisait sur l'ordre du roi.

3 Of Jeduthun, the sons of Jeduthun: Gedalyahu, and Zeri, and Jesha'yahu, Chashahyahu, and Matthithyahu, six, under the supervision of their father Jeduthun, who uttered praise with a harp, in order to give thanks and to utter praise unto the Lord.

De Jeduthun, les fils de Jeduthun: Guedalia, Zeri, Jeshaiah, Shimei, Hashabiah et Mattithiah, au nombre de six, sous la main de leur père Jeduthun, qui prophétisa en rendant grâces et en louant Yahvé avec la harpe.

4 Of Heman, the sons of Heman: Bukkiyahu, Matthanyahu, 'Uzziel, Shebuel, and Jerimoth, Chananyah, Chanani, Eliathah, Giddalti, and Romamti-'ezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir, and Machaz'oth;

Fils d'Héman: Bukkia, Matthania, Uzziel, Shebuel, Jerimoth, Hanania, Hanani, Eliatha, Giddalti, Romamti-Ezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir et Mahazioth.

5 All these sons of Heman the king's seer in the words of God, were to lift up the horn. And God gave to Heman fourteen sons and three daughters.

Tous ceux-là étaient les fils d'Héman, le voyant du roi, pour prononcer les paroles de Dieu, pour élever la corne. Dieu donna à Héman quatorze fils et trois filles.

6 All these were under the supervision of their father at the singing in the house of the Lord, with cymbals, psalteries, and harps, for the service of the house of God, under the supervision of the king, Assaph, Jeduthun, and Heman.

Tous ceux-là étaient sous les mains de leur père pour chanter dans la maison de l'Éternel, avec des cymbales, des instruments à cordes et des harpes, pour le service de la maison de Dieu: Asaph, Jeduthun et Héman étaient sous l'ordre du roi.

7 And their number, with their brethren that were practised in singing unto the Lord, even all that were acquainted [therewith], was two hundred eighty and eight.

Ils étaient au nombre de deux cent quatre-vingt-huit, avec leurs frères instruits dans le chant de l'Éternel, tous ceux qui étaient habiles.

8 And they cast lots, division against [division], the small well as the great, the one acquainted with his business together with the scholar.

Ils tirèrent au sort leurs fonctions, tous pareils, le petit comme le grand, le maître comme l'élève.

9 And there came forth the first lot for Assaph for Joseph; Gedalyahu was the second, he with his brethren and sons, being twelve:

Le premier lot échut à Asaph, Joseph; le second à Guedalia, ses fils et ses frères, au nombre de douze;

10 The third was Zaccur, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve:

le troisième à Zaccur, ses fils et ses frères, au nombre de douze;

11 The fourth was for Yizri, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

le quatrième à Izri, ses fils et ses frères, au nombre de douze;

12 The fifth was Nethanyahu, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve:

le cinquième à Nethania, ses fils et ses frères, au nombre de douze;

13 The sixth was Bukkiyahu, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve:

le sixième à Bukkiah, ses fils et ses frères, au nombre de douze;

14 The seventh was Jessarelah, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

le septième à Jesharela, ses fils et ses frères, au nombre de douze

15 The eighth was Jesha'yahu, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

le huitième, à Jeshaiah, ses fils et ses frères, douze;

16 The ninth was Matthanyahu, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

le neuvième, à Mattaniah, ses fils et ses frères, douze;

17 The tenth was Shim'i, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

le dixième, à Shimei, ses fils et ses frères, douze;

18 The eleventh was 'Asarel, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

le onzième, à Azarel, ses fils et ses frères, douze;

19 The twelfth was for Chashahyah, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

le douzième, à Hashabiah, ses fils et ses frères, douze;

20 The thirteenth was Shuhael, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

21 The fourteenth was Matthithyahu, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

le quatorzième, à Mattithiah, ses fils et ses frères, douze;

22 The fifteenth was for Jeremoth, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

le quinzième, à Jeremoth, ses fils et ses frères, douze;

23 The sixteenth was for Chananyahu, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

le seizième, à Hanania, ses fils et ses frères, douze;

24 The seventeenth was for Joshbekashah, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

le dix-septième, à Joshbekashah, ses fils et ses frères, douze;

25 The eighteenth was for Chanani, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

le dix-huitième, à Hanani, ses fils et ses frères, douze;

26 The nineteenth was for Mallothi, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

le dix-neuvième, à Mallothi, ses fils et ses frères, douze;

27 The twentieth was for Eliyathah, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

le vingtième, à Eliatha, ses fils et ses frères, douze;

28 The one and twentieth was for Hothir, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

le vingt et unième, à Hothir, ses fils et ses frères, douze;

29 The two and twentieth was for Giddalthi, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

le vingt-deuxième, à Giddalti, ses fils et ses frères, douze;

30 The three and twentieth was for Machasioth, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

le vingt-troisième, à Mahazioth, ses fils et ses frères, douze;

31 The four and twentieth was for Romamthi-'eser, his sons and his brethren, being twelve.
