1 Chronicles 23
1 And when David was old and full of days, he made Solomon his son king over Israel.
१दाऊद तो बूढ़ा वरन् बहुत बूढ़ा हो गया था, इसलिए उसने अपने पुत्र सुलैमान को इस्राएल पर राजा नियुक्त कर दिया।
2 And he gathered together all the princes of Israel, with the priests and the Levites.
२तब उसने इस्राएल के सब हाकिमों और याजकों और लेवियों को इकट्ठा किया।
3 And then were numbered the Levites from thirty years old and upward: and their number by their polls, of men, was thirty and eight thousand.
३जितने लेवीय तीस वर्ष के और उससे अधिक अवस्था के थे, वे गिने गए, और एक-एक पुरुष के गिनने से उनकी गिनती अड़तीस हजार हुई।
4 Of these were twenty and four thousand to superintend the work of the house of the Lord; and six thousand were officers and judges;
४इनमें से चौबीस हजार तो यहोवा के भवन का काम चलाने के लिये नियुक्त हुए, और छः हजार सरदार और न्यायी।
5 And four thousand were gatekeepers: and four thousand those who praised the Lord with the instruments which I have made, to praise therewith.
५और चार हजार द्वारपाल नियुक्त हुए, और चार हजार उन बाजों से यहोवा की स्तुति करने के लिये ठहराए गए जो दाऊद ने स्तुति करने के लिये बनाए थे।
6 And David divided them into divisions after the sons of Levi, after Gershon, Kehath, and Merari.
६फिर दाऊद ने उनको गेर्शोन, कहात और मरारी नामक लेवी के पुत्रों के अनुसार दलों में अलग-अलग कर दिया।
7 Of the Gershunites: La'dan, and Shim'i.
७गेर्शोनियों में से तो लादान और शिमी थे।
8 The sons of La'dan: The chief was Jechiel, and Zetham, and Joel, three.
८और लादान के पुत्र: सरदार यहीएल, फिर जेताम और योएल ये तीन थे।
9 The sons of Shim'i: Shelomith, and Chaziel, and Haran, three. These were the chiefs of the families of La'dan.
९शिमी के पुत्र: शलोमीत, हजीएल और हारान ये तीन थे। लादान के कुल के पूर्वजों के घरानों के मुख्य पुरुष ये ही थे।
10 And the sons of Shim'i were, Jachath, Zina, and Je'ush, and Beri'ah. These four were the sons of Shim'i.
१०फिर शिमी के पुत्र: यहत, जीना, यूश, और बरीआ, शिमी के यही चार पुत्र थे।
11 And Jachath was the chief, and Zizah the second; but Je'ush and Beri'ah had not many sons: therefore were they accounted as one family division in the numbering.
११यहत मुख्य था, और जीजा दूसरा; यूश और बरीआ के बहुत बेटे न हुए, इस कारण वे सब मिलकर पितरों का एक ही घराना ठहरे।
12 The sons of Kehath: 'Amram, Yizhar, Hebron, and 'Uzziel, four.
१२कहात के पुत्र: अम्राम, यिसहार, हेब्रोन और उज्जीएल चार थे। अम्राम के पुत्र: हारून और मूसा।
13 The sons of 'Amram, Aaron and Moses: and Aaron was set apart, to sanctify him as most holy, he with his sons for ever, to burn incense before the Lord, to minister unto him, and to bless in his name for ever.
१३हारून तो इसलिए अलग किया गया, कि वह और उसकी सन्तान सदा परमपवित्र वस्तुओं को पवित्र ठहराएँ, और सदा यहोवा के सम्मुख धूप जलाया करें और उसकी सेवा टहल करें, और उसके नाम से आशीर्वाद दिया करें।
14 But as regardeth Moses the man of God, his sons were named after the tribe of Levi.
१४परन्तु परमेश्वर के भक्त मूसा के पुत्रों के नाम लेवी के गोत्र के बीच गिने गए।
15 The sons of Moses were, Gershom, and Eli'ezer.
१५मूसा के पुत्र, गेर्शोम और एलीएजेर।
16 Of the sons of Gershom, Shebuel was the chief.
१६और गेर्शोम का पुत्र शबूएल मुख्य था।
17 And the sons of Eli'ezer were, Rechahyah the chief. And Eli'ezer had no other sons; but the sons of Rechahyah became exceedingly numerous.
१७एलीएजेर के पुत्र: रहब्याह मुख्य; और एलीएजेर के और कोई पुत्र न हुआ, परन्तु रहब्याह के बहुत से बेटे हुए।
18 Of the sons of Yizhar, was Shelomith the chief.
१८यिसहार के पुत्रों में से शलोमीत मुख्य ठहरा।
19 The sons of Hebron: Jeriyahu the chief, Amaryah the second, Jachaziel the third, and Jekam'am the fourth.
१९हेब्रोन के पुत्र: यरिय्याह मुख्य, दूसरा अमर्याह, तीसरा यहजीएल, और चौथा यकमाम।
20 The sons of 'Uzziel: Michah the chief, and Yishiyah the second.
२०उज्जीएल के पुत्रों में से मुख्य तो मीका और दूसरा यिश्शिय्याह था।
21 The sons of Merari: Machli, and Mushi. The sons of Machli: El'azar, and Kish.
२१मरारी के पुत्र: महली और मूशी। महली के पुत्र: एलीआजर और कीश।
22 And El'azar died, and had no sons, but daughters; and the sons of Kish, their brethren, took them [for wives].
२२एलीआजर पुत्रहीन मर गया, उसके केवल बेटियाँ हुईं; अतः कीश के पुत्रों ने जो उनके भाई थे उन्हें ब्याह लिया।
23 The sons of Mushi: Machli, and 'Eder, and Jeremoth, three.
२३मूशी के पुत्र: महली; एदेर और यरेमोत यह तीन थे।
24 These were the sons of Levi after their family divisions, even the chiefs of the families, as they were counted by numbering the names after their polls, that did the work for the service of the house of the Lord, from twenty years old and upward.
२४लेवीय पितरों के घरानों के मुख्य पुरुष ये ही थे, ये नाम ले लेकर, एक-एक पुरुष करके गिने गए, और बीस वर्ष की या उससे अधिक अवस्था के थे और यहोवा के भवन में सेवा टहल करते थे।
25 For David said, The Lord the God of Israel hath given rest unto his people, and he dwelleth in Jerusalem for evermore.
२५क्योंकि दाऊद ने कहा, “इस्राएल के परमेश्वर यहोवा ने अपनी प्रजा को विश्राम दिया है, कि वे यरूशलेम में सदैव रह सकें।
26 And also the Levites are no more bound to carry the tabernacle, and all its vessels for the service thereof.
२६और लेवियों को निवास और उसकी उपासना का सामान फिर उठाना न पड़ेगा।”
27 Therefore by the last words of David were there numbered of the Levites those who were from twenty years old and above;
२७क्योंकि दाऊद की पिछली आज्ञाओं के अनुसार बीस वर्ष या उससे अधिक अवस्था के लेवीय गिने गए।
28 Because their station was to be at the side of the sons of Aaron for the service of the house of the Lord, in the courts, and in the chambers, and by the purification of all holy things, and the work of the service of the house of God;
२८क्योंकि उनका काम तो हारून की सन्तान की सेवा टहल करना था, अर्थात् यह कि वे आँगनों और कोठरियों में, और सब पवित्र वस्तुओं के शुद्ध करने में और परमेश्वर के भवन की उपासना के सब कामों में सेवा टहल करें;
29 And for the shew-bread, which was put in rows, and for the fine flour for meat-offering, and for the unleavened cakes, and for that which is baked in the pan, and for that which is sodden, and for all manner of dry and wet measure;
२९और भेंट की रोटी का, अन्नबलियों के मैदे का, और अख़मीरी पपड़ियों का, और तवे पर बनाए हुए और सने हुए का, और मापने और तौलने के सब प्रकार का काम करें।
30 And to stand every morning to thank and praise the Lord, and so also at evening,
३०और प्रति भोर और प्रति साँझ को यहोवा का धन्यवाद और उसकी स्तुति करने के लिये खड़े रहा करें।
31 And at all the offering of burnt-offerings unto the Lord on the sabbaths, on the new moons, and on the appointed feasts, according to the number, and after the manner prescribed for them, continually before the Lord;
३१और विश्रामदिनों और नये चाँद के दिनों, और नियत पर्वों में गिनती के नियम के अनुसार नित्य यहोवा के सब होमबलियों को चढ़ाएँ;
32 And that they should keep the charge of the tabernacle of the congregation, and the charge of the sanctuary, and the charge of the sons of Aaron their brethren, in the service of the house of the Lord.
३२और यहोवा के भवन की उपासना के विषय मिलापवाले तम्बू और पवित्रस्थान की रक्षा करें, और अपने भाई हारूनियों के सौंपे हुए काम को चौकसी से करें।
