1 Chronicles 21
1 And the Accuser stood up against Israel, and incited David to count Israel.
௧சாத்தான் இஸ்ரவேலுக்கு விரோதமாக எழும்பி, இஸ்ரவேலைக் கணக்கெடுக்க தாவீதைத் தூண்டிவிட்டது.
2 And David said to Joab, and to the princes of the people, Go, number Israel from Beer-sheba' even to Dan, and bring their number to me, that I may know it.
௨அப்படியே தாவீது யோவாபையும், படைத்தளபதிகளையும் நோக்கி: நீங்கள் போய், பெயெர்செபாதுவங்கி தாண்வரை இருக்கிற இஸ்ரவேலை எண்ணி, அவர்களின் எண்ணிக்கையை நான் அறியும்படி என்னிடத்தில் கொண்டு வாருங்கள் என்றான்.
3 Then said Joab, May the Lord add unto his people, how many soever they be, a hundred-fold more: are they not all, my lord the king, my lord's servants? why then will my lord require this thing? why shall it be a cause of guiltiness for Israel?
௩அப்பொழுது யோவாப்: யெகோவாவுடைய மக்கள் இப்போது இருக்கிறதைவிட நூறு மடங்காக அவர் பெருகச்செய்வாராக; ஆனாலும் ராஜாவாகிய என்னுடைய ஆண்டவனே, அவர்கள் எல்லோரும் என்னுடைய ஆண்டவனுக்கு பணிவிடை செய்வதில்லையா? என்னுடைய ஆண்டவன் இதை ஏன் விசாரிக்கவேண்டும்? இஸ்ரவேலின்மேல் குற்றமுண்டாக இது எதற்காக நடக்கவேண்டும் என்றான்.
4 Nevertheless the king's word remained firm against Joab; and Joab went out, and moved about throughout all Israel, and came [back] to Jerusalem.
௪யோவாப் அப்படிச் சொல்லியும், ராஜாவின் வார்த்தை மேலோங்கியதால், யோவாப் புறப்பட்டு, இஸ்ரவேல் எங்கும் சுற்றித்திரிந்து எருசலேமிற்கு வந்து,
5 And Joab gave up the sum of the number of the people unto David: and there were [in] all Israel a thousand times thousand and one hundred thousand men that drew the sword: and [of] Judah were four hundred and seventy thousand men that drew the sword.
௫போர் வீரர்களைக் கணக்கெடுத்து, எண்ணிக்கையை தாவீதிடம் கொடுத்தான்; இஸ்ரவேலெங்கும் பட்டயம் எடுக்கத்தக்கவர்கள் பதினொரு லட்சம்பேர்களும், யூதாவில் பட்டயம் எடுக்கத்தக்கவர்கள் நான்குலட்சத்து எழுபதாயிரம்பேர்களும் இருந்தார்கள்.
6 But Levi and Benjamin did he not count among them: for the king's word was abominable to Joab.
௬ஆனாலும் ராஜாவின் வார்த்தை யோவாபுக்கு அருவருப்பாக இருந்ததால், லேவி பென்யமீன் கோத்திரங்களில் உள்ளவர்களை அவர்களுடைய கணக்கெடுப்பிற்குள் வராதபடி எண்ணாமற்போனான்.
7 And this thing was displeasing in the eyes of God, and he smote Israel.
௭இந்தக் காரியம் தேவனுடைய பார்வைக்கு ஆகாததானபடியால் அவர் இஸ்ரவேலைத் தண்டித்தார்.
8 And David said unto God, I have sinned greatly, because I have done this thing; but now, I beseech thee, cause the iniquity of thy servant to pass away; for I have acted very foolishly.
௮தாவீது தேவனை நோக்கி: நான் இந்தக் காரியத்தைச் செய்ததால் மிகவும் பாவஞ்செய்தேன்; இப்போதும் உம்முடைய அடியேனின் அக்கிரமத்தை நீக்கிவிடும்; பெரிய முட்டாள்தனமாக செய்தேன் என்றான்.
9 And the Lord spoke unto Gad, David's seer, saying,
௯அப்பொழுது யெகோவா, தாவீதின் தீர்க்கதரிசியாகிய காத்துடனே பேசி,
10 Go and speak unto David, saying, Thus hath said the Lord, Three things do I offer thee: choose for thyself one of them, and I will do it unto thee.
௧0நீ தாவீதிடம் போய்: மூன்று காரியங்களை உனக்கு முன்பாக வைக்கிறேன்; அவைகளில் ஒரு காரியத்தைத் தெரிந்துகொள்; அதை நான் உனக்குச் செய்வேன் என்று யெகோவா சொல்கிறார் என்று சொல் என்றார்.
11 So Gad came to David, and said unto him, Thus hath said the Lord, Select for thyself,
௧௧அப்படியே காத் தாவீதிடம் வந்து, அவனை நோக்கி:
12 Whether there shall be three years famine; or three months, to be destroyed before thy adversaries, so that the sword of thy enemies overtake thee; or that during three days the sword of the Lord, even the pestilence, shall be in the land, and an angel of the Lord destroying throughout all the boundaries of Israel? And now reflect what word I shall bring back to him that hath sent me.
௧௨மூன்று வருடத்துப் பஞ்சமோ? அல்லது உன்னுடைய எதிரியின் பட்டயம் உன்னைப் பின்தொடர நீ உன்னுடைய எதிரிகளுக்கு முன்பாக ஓடிப்போகச் செய்யும் மூன்றுமாதத் துரத்துதலோ? அல்லது மூன்றுநாட்கள் யெகோவாவுடைய தூதன் இஸ்ரவேலுடைய எல்லையெங்கும் அழிவு உண்டாகும்படி தேசத்தில் நிற்கும் யெகோவாவுடைய பட்டயமாகிய கொள்ளை நோயோ? இவைகளில் ஒன்றைத் தெரிந்துகொள் என்று யெகோவா சொல்கிறார். இப்போதும் என்னை அனுப்பினவருக்கு நான் என்ன பதில் கொண்டுபோகவேண்டும் என்பதை யோசித்துப்பாரும் என்றான்.
13 And David said unto Gad, I am in a great strait: let me fall then into the hand of the Lord; for his mercies are very great; but let me not fall into the hand of man.
௧௩அப்பொழுது தாவீது காத்தை நோக்கி: கொடிய பிரச்சனையில் அகப்பட்டிருக்கிறேன்; இப்போது நான் யெகோவாவுடைய கையிலே விழுவேனாக; அவருடைய இரக்கங்கள் மிகப்பெரியது; மனிதர்கள் கையிலே விழாமல் இருப்பேனாக என்றான்.
14 So the Lord sent a pestilence in Israel, and there fell of Israel seventy thousand men.
௧௪ஆகையால் யெகோவா இஸ்ரவேலிலே கொள்ளை நோயை வரச்செய்தார்; அதினால் இஸ்ரவேலில் எழுபதாயிரம்பேர் இறந்தார்கள்.
15 And God sent an angel unto Jerusalem to destroy it; but as he was destroying, the Lord looked on, and he bethought himself of the evil, and said to the angel that destroyed, It is enough: now stay thy hand. And the angel of the Lord was standing by the threshing-floor of Ornan the Jebusite.
௧௫எருசலேமையும் அழிக்க தேவன் ஒரு தூதனை அனுப்பினார்; ஆனாலும் அவன் அழிக்கும்போது யெகோவா பார்த்து, அந்தத் தீங்குக்கு மனவேதனையடைந்து, அழிக்கிற தூதனை நோக்கி: போதும்; இப்போது உன் கையை நிறுத்து என்றார்; யெகோவாவுடைய தூதன் எபூசியனாகிய ஒர்னானின் போரடிக்கிற களத்திற்கு அருகில் நின்றான்.
16 And David lifted up his eyes, and saw the angel of the Lord standing between the earth and the heavens, with his sword drawn in his hand, stretched out over Jerusalem. Then fell David, with the elders wrapt in sackcloth, upon their faces.
௧௬தாவீது தன்னுடைய கண்களை ஏறெடுத்து, பூமிக்கும் வானத்திற்கும் நடுவே நிற்கிற யெகோவாவுடைய தூதன் உருவின பட்டயத்தைத் தன்னுடைய கையில் பிடித்து, அதை எருசலேமின்மேல் நீட்டியிருக்கக் கண்டான்; அப்பொழுது தாவீதும் மூப்பர்களும் சாக்கைப் போர்த்துக்கொண்டு முகங்குப்புற விழுந்தார்கள்.
17 And David said unto God, Was it not I that ordered to count the people? and I am the one that have sinned and have done evil indeed; but these sheep, what have they done? O Lord my God, let thy hand, I pray thee, be against me, and against my father's house, but not against thy people, that there should be a plague.
௧௭தாவீது தேவனை நோக்கி: மக்களை எண்ணச்சொன்னவன் நான் அல்லவோ? நான்தான் பாவம் செய்தேன்; தீங்கு நடக்கச்செய்தேன்; இந்த ஆடுகள் என்ன செய்தது? என்னுடைய தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவே, தண்டிக்கும்படி உம்முடைய கரம் உம்முடைய மக்களுக்கு விரோதமாக இராமல், எனக்கும் என்னுடைய தகப்பன் வீட்டிற்கும் விரோதமாக இருப்பதாக என்றான்.
18 And the angel of the Lord spoke to Gad to say to David, that David should go up, to erect an altar unto the Lord on the threshing-floor of Ornan the Jebusite.
௧௮அப்பொழுது எபூசியனாகிய ஒர்னானின் போரடிக்கிற களத்திலே யெகோவாவுக்கு ஒரு பலிபீடத்தை உண்டாக்கும்படி, தாவீது அங்கே போகவேண்டுமென்று தாவீதுக்குச் சொல் என்று யெகோவாவுடைய தூதன் காத்துக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டான்.
19 And David went up by the word of Gad, which he had spoken in the name of the Lord.
௧௯அப்படியே தாவீது யெகோவாவின் நாமத்திலே காத் சொன்ன வார்த்தையின்படி போனான்.
20 And when Ornan turned back, and saw the angel, then did he and his four sons with him hide themselves. Now Ornan was threshing wheat.
௨0ஒர்னான் திரும்பிப் பார்த்தான்; அவனும் அவனோடிருக்கிற அவனுடைய நான்கு மகன்களும் அந்த தேவதூதனைக் கண்டு ஒளிந்துகொண்டார்கள்; ஒர்னானோ போரடித்துக்கொண்டிருந்தான்.
21 And as David came up to Ornan, Ornan looked up and saw David; and he went out of the threshing-floor, and bowed himself to David with his face to the ground.
௨௧தாவீது ஒர்னானிடம் வந்தபோது, ஒர்னான் கவனித்து தாவீதைப் பார்த்து, அவனுடைய களத்திலிருந்து புறப்பட்டுவந்து, தரைவரை குனிந்து தாவீதை வணங்கினான்.
22 Then said David to Ornan, “Grant me the site of this threshing-floor, that I may build thereon an altar unto the Lord: for the full price shalt thou give it unto me, so that the plague may be stayed from the people.”
௨௨அப்பொழுது தாவீது ஒர்னானை நோக்கி: இந்தக் களத்தின் நிலத்திலே நான் யெகோவாவுக்கு ஒரு பலிபீடத்தைக் கட்டும்படி அதை எனக்குக் கொடு; வாதை மக்களைவிட்டு நிறுத்தப்பட, எனக்கு அதை உரிய விலைக்குக் கொடு என்றான்.
23 And Ornan said unto David, Take it for thyself, and let my lord the king do what is good in his eyes: lo, I give the oxen for burnt-offerings, and the threshing-rollers for wood, and the wheat for the meat-offering; the whole do I give [thee].
௨௩ஒர்னான் தாவீதை நோக்கி: ராஜாவாகிய என்னுடைய ஆண்டவன் அதை வாங்கிக் கொண்டு, தம்முடைய பார்வைக்கு நலமானபடி செய்வாராக; இதோ, சர்வாங்க தகனங்களுக்கு மாடுகளும், விறகுக்குப் போரடிக்கிற உருளைகளும், உணவுபலிக்குக் கோதுமையும் ஆகிய யாவையும் கொடுக்கிறேன் என்றான்.
24 And king David said to Ornan, No: but I will surely buy it at the full value; for I will not take what is thine for the Lord, so as to offer burnt-offerings without paying therefore.
௨௪அதற்கு தாவீது ராஜா ஒர்னானை நோக்கி: அப்படியல்ல, நான் உன்னுடையதை இலவசமாக வாங்கி, யெகோவாவுக்குச் சர்வாங்க தகனத்தைப் பலியிடாமல், அதை உரிய விலைக்கு வாங்குவேன் என்று சொல்லி,
25 So David gave to Ornan for the place six hundred shekels of gold by weight.
௨௫தாவீது அந்த நிலத்திற்கு அறுநூறு சேக்கல் எடையுள்ள பொன்னை ஒர்னானுக்குக் கொடுத்து,
26 And David built there an altar unto the Lord, and offered burnt-offerings and peace-offerings, and he called on the Lord: and he answered him from heaven by fire upon the altar of burnt-offering.
௨௬அங்கே யெகோவாவுக்கு ஒரு பலிபீடத்தைக் கட்டி, சர்வாங்க தகனபலிகளையும் சமாதான பலிகளையும் செலுத்தி, யெகோவாவை நோக்கி விண்ணப்பம்செய்தான்; அப்பொழுது அவர் வானத்திலிருந்து சர்வாங்க தகனபலிபீடத்தின்மேல் இறங்கின அக்கினியினால் அவனுக்கு மறுஉத்திரவு கொடுத்ததுமல்லாமல்,
27 And the Lord spoke to the angel, and he put back his sword into its sheath.
௨௭தேவதூதன் தன்னுடைய பட்டயத்தை உறையிலே திரும்பப் போடவேண்டும் என்று யெகோவா அவனுக்குச் சொன்னார்.
28 At that time when David saw that the Lord had answered him on the threshing-floor of Ornan the Jebusite, then did he sacrifice there.
௨௮எபூசியனாகிய ஒர்னானின் களத்திலே யெகோவா தனக்கு பதில் சொன்னதை தாவீது அந்த காலத்திலே கண்டு அங்கேயே பலியிட்டான்.
29 But the tabernacle of the Lord, which Moses had made in the wilderness, and the altar of the burnt-offering, were at that time in the high-place at Gib'on.
௨௯மோசே வனாந்திரத்தில் உண்டாக்கின யெகோவா தங்குமிடமும் சர்வாங்க தகனபலிபீடமும் அக்காலத்திலே கிபியோனின் மேட்டில் இருந்தது.
30 But David was not able to go before it to inquire of God; for he was afraid because of the sword of the angel of the Lord.
௩0தாவீது யெகோவாவுடைய தூதனின் பட்டயத்திற்குப் பயந்திருந்தபடியால், அவன் தேவசந்நிதியில் போய் விசாரிக்கமுடியாமலிருந்தது.
