1 Chronicles 15
1 And [David] made himself houses in the city of David, and he prepared a place for the ark of God, and pitched for it a tent.
David se hizo casas en la ciudad de David, y preparó un lugar para el arca de Dios, y levantó una tienda para ella.
2 Then said David, None shall carry the ark of God but the Levites; for of them hath the Lord made choice to carry the ark of God, and to minister unto him for ever.
Entonces David dijo: “Nadie debe llevar el arca de Dios sino los levitas. Porque Yahvé los ha escogido para que lleven el arca de Dios y le sirvan para siempre”.
3 And David assembled all Israel to Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the Lord unto its place, which he had prepared for it.
David reunió a todo Israel en Jerusalén, para llevar el arca de Yahvé a su lugar, que él había preparado para ella.
4 And David gathered together the children of Aaron, and the Levites.
David reunió a los hijos de Aarón y a los levitas
5 Of the sons of Kehath: Uriel the chief, and his brethren one hundred and twenty.
de los hijos de Coat, Uriel el principal, y sus hermanos, ciento veinte;
6 Of the sons of Merari: 'Assayah the chief, and his brethren two hundred and twenty.
de los hijos de Merari, Asaías el principal, y sus hermanos, doscientos veinte;
7 Of the sons of Gershom: Joel the chief, and his brethren one hundred and thirty.
de los hijos de Gersón, Joel el principal, y sus hermanos, ciento treinta;
8 Of the sons of Elizaphan: Shema'yah the chief, and his brethren two hundred.

9 Of the sons of Hebron: Eliel the chief, and his brethren eighty.

10 Of the sons of 'Uzziel: 'Amminadab the chief, and his brethren one hundred and twelve.

11 And David called for Zadok and Ebyathar the priests, and for the Levites, for Uriel, 'Assayah, and Joel, Shema'yah, and Eliel, and 'Amminadab,
David llamó a los sacerdotes Sadoc y Abiatar, y a los levitas: a Uriel, Asaías, Joel, Semaías, Eliel y Aminadab,
12 And he said unto them, Ye are the chiefs of the family divisions of the Levites: sanctify yourselves, ye and your brethren, and bring up the ark of the Lord the God of Israel unto [the place which] I have prepared for it.
y les dijo: “Ustedes son los jefes de familia de los levitas. Santificaos, vosotros y vuestros hermanos, para que podáis llevar el arca de Yahvé, el Dios de Israel, hasta el lugar que le he preparado.
13 For, because ye [did] it not at the first, the Lord our God made a breach among us; because we had not sought him after the prescribed manner.
Porque como no la llevasteis al principio, Yahvé, nuestro Dios, estalló en cólera contra nosotros, porque no lo buscamos según la ordenanza.”
14 So the priests and the Levites sanctified themselves to bring up the ark of the Lord the God of Israel.
Los sacerdotes y los levitas se santificaron para subir el arca de Yahvé, el Dios de Israel.
15 And the children of the Levites bore the ark of God, as Moses had commanded according to the word of the Lord, on their shoulders, by means of barrows placed upon them.
Los hijos de los levitas llevaban el arca de Dios sobre sus hombros con sus varas, como lo había ordenado Moisés según la palabra de Yahvé.
16 And David said to the chiefs of the Levites to appoint their brethren the singers with instruments of music, psalteries and harps and cymbals, to sing aloud, by lifting up the voice for joy.
David habló a los jefes de los levitas para que designaran a sus hermanos como cantantes con instrumentos de música, instrumentos de cuerda, arpas y címbalos, que tocaran en voz alta y alzaran la voz con alegría.
17 So the Levites appointed Heman the son of Joel, and of his brethren, Assaph the son of Berechyahu, and of the sons of Merari their brethren, Ethan the son of Kushayahu;
Los levitas nombraron a Hemán hijo de Joel, y de sus hermanos a Asaf hijo de Berequías, y de los hijos de Merari a sus hermanos, a Etán hijo de Cushaías;
18 And with them their brethren of the second degree, Zecharyahu, Ben, and Ja'aziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jechiel, and 'Unni, Eliab, and Benayahu, and Ma'asseyahu, and Matthithyahu, and Eliphelehu, and Mikneyahu, and 'Obed-edom, and Je'iel, the gatekeepers.
y con ellos a sus hermanos de segundo grado: Zacarías, Ben, Jaaziel, Semiramot, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Benaía, Maasías, Matatías, Elifelehu, Micneías, Obed-Edom y Jeiel, los porteros.
19 Namely, the singers, Heman, Assaph, and Ethan, to play aloud with cymbals of copper;
A los cantores, Hemán, Asaf y Etán, se les dieron címbalos de bronce para que los hicieran sonar en voz alta;
20 And Zechariah, and 'Aziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jechiel, and 'Unni, and Eliab, and Ma'asseyahu, and Benayahu, with psalteries on 'Alamoth;
y a Zacarías, Aziel, Semiramot, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Maasías y Benaía, con instrumentos de cuerda afinados con Alamot;
21 And Matthithyahu, and Eliphelehu, and Mikneyahu, and 'Obed-edom, and Je-iel, and 'Azazyahu, with harps on the Sheminith to play as leaders.
y a Matatías, Elifelehu, Micneías, Obed-Edom, Jeiel y Azazías, con arpas afinadas con lira de ocho cuerdas, para que los dirigieran.
22 And Kenanyahu was the chief of the Levites in conducting the singing: he instructed in conducting the singing, because he was skilful.
Quenanías, jefe de los levitas, estaba a cargo del canto. Él enseñaba a los cantantes, porque era hábil.
23 And Berechyah and Elkanah were gatekeepers for the ark.
Berequías y Elcana eran porteros del arca.
24 And Shebanyahu, and Joshaphat, and Nethanel, and 'Amassai, and Zecharyahu, and Benayahu, and Eli'ezer, the priests, did blow on the trumpets before the ark of God; and 'Obed-edom and Jechiyah were gatekeepers for the ark.
Sebanías, Josafat, Natanel, Amasai, Zacarías, Benaía y Eliezer, los sacerdotes, tocaban las trompetas delante del arca de Dios; y Obed-Edom y Jehías eran porteros del arca.
25 And it was David, with the elders of Israel, and the officers over the thousands, who went to bring up the ark of the covenant of the Lord out of the house of 'Obed-edom with joy.
Entonces David, los ancianos de Israel y los capitanes de millares fueron a sacar con alegría el arca de la alianza de Yahvé de la casa de Obed-Edom.
26 And it came to pass, when God helped the Levites who carried the ark of the covenant of the Lord, that they offered seven bullocks and seven rams.
Cuando Dios ayudó a los levitas que llevaban el arca de la alianza de Yahvé, éstos sacrificaron siete toros y siete carneros.
27 And David was clothed with a robe of fine linen, and [so were] all the Levites that carried the ark, and the singers, and Kenanyahu the chief in conducting the singing of the singers; but David had also upon him an ephod of linen.
David estaba vestido con una túnica de lino fino, al igual que todos los levitas que llevaban el arca, los cantores y Quenanías, el director del coro, con los cantores; y David llevaba un efod de lino.
28 Thus all Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of the Lord with shouting, and with the sound of the cornet, and with trumpets, and with cymbals, playing aloud on psalteries and harps.
Así subió todo Israel el arca de la alianza de Yahvé con gritos, con sonido de corneta, de trompetas y de címbalos, tocando en voz alta con instrumentos de cuerda y arpas.
29 And it happened, as the ark of the covenant of the Lord came as far as the city of David, that Michal the daughter of Saul looked through the window, and saw king David dancing and playing, and she despised him in her heart.
Cuando el arca de la alianza de Yahvé llegó a la ciudad de David, Mical, hija de Saúl, se asomó a la ventana y vio al rey David bailando y tocando, y lo despreció en su corazón.
