1 Chronicles 14
1 And Churam the king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and trees of cedars, and masons and carpenters, to build him a house.
੧ਸੂਰ ਦੇ ਰਾਜਾ ਹੀਰਾਮ ਨੇ ਦਾਊਦ ਕੋਲ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ਵਾਹਕ ਭੇਜੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਦਾ ਮਹਿਲ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਦਿਆਰ ਦੀ ਲੱਕੜ, ਰਾਜ ਮਿਸਤਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਤਰਖਾਣ ਵੀ ਭੇਜੇ।
2 And David felt conscious that the Lord had established him as king over Israel; for his kingdom was exalted on high, because of his people Israel.
੨ਦਾਊਦ ਜਾਣ ਗਿਆ ਕਿ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਠਹਿਰਾਇਆ ਹੈ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਰਾਜ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਪਰਜਾ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਅੱਤ ਉੱਚਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ।
3 And David took yet more wives at Jerusalem; and David begat more sons and daughters.
੩ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਰ ਵੀ ਇਸਤਰੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਆਹ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਹੋਰ ਵੀ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅਤੇ ਧੀਆਂ ਜੰਮੇ।
4 And these are the names of the children that he had in Jerusalem: Shammua', and Shobab, Nathan, and Solomon,
੪ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੰਮੇ ਇਹ ਸਨ - ਸ਼ਮੂਆਹ, ਸ਼ੋਬਾਬ, ਨਾਥਾਨ, ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ,
5 And Yibchar, and Elishua', and Elpalet,
੫ਯਿਬਹਾਰ, ਅਲੀਸ਼ੂਆ, ਅਲਪਾਲਟ,
6 And Nogah, and Nepheg, and Yaphia',
੬ਨੋਗਹ, ਨਫ਼ਗ, ਯਾਫ਼ੀਆ,
7 And Elishama', and Be'elyada', and Eliphalet.
੭ਅਲੀਸ਼ਾਮਾ, ਬਅਲਯਾਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਅਲੀਫ਼ਾਲਟ।
8 But when the Philistines heard that David had been anointed as king over all Israel, all the Philistines came up to seek David: and David heard of it, and went out against them.
੮ਜਦੋਂ ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਕਿ ਦਾਊਦ ਦਾ ਸਾਰੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਉੱਤੇ ਰਾਜਾ ਹੋਣ ਲਈ ਮਸਹ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਤਦ ਸਾਰੇ ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਭਣ ਲਈ ਆਏ, ਤਾਂ ਦਾਊਦ ਇਹ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਾਹਮਣਾ ਕਰਨ ਨੂੰ ਨਿੱਕਲਿਆ
9 And the Philistines came and spread themselves out in the valley of Rephaim.
੯ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਆ ਕੇ ਰਫ਼ਾਈਮ ਦੀ ਘਾਟੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਮਲਾ ਕੀਤਾ
10 And David asked counsel of God, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines? and wilt thou deliver them into my hand? And the Lord said unto him, Go up; and I will deliver them into thy hand.
੧੦ਤਦ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ, “ਕੀ ਮੈਂ ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਸਾਹਮਣਾ ਕਰਨ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਂਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਕੀ ਤੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਵੱਸ ਕਰ ਦੇਵੇਂਗਾ?” ਅਤੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਜਾ, ਹਮਲਾ ਕਰ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਹੀ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੇਰੇ ਅਧੀਨ ਕਰ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ।”
11 And they came up to Ba'al-perazim; and David smote them there. Then David said, God hath broken down my enemies through my hand as a breach [is made] by water: therefore they called the name of that place Ba'al-perazim.
੧੧ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਬਆਲ-ਪਰਾਸੀਮ ਨੂੰ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਆਏ, ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਥੇ ਮਾਰਿਆ, ਤਾਂ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਮੇਰੇ ਹੱਥ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਹੜ੍ਹ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਟੁੱਟ ਪਿਆ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਥਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਬਆਲ-ਪਰਾਸੀਮ ਰੱਖਿਆ।”
12 And they left behind there their gods, and David gave the order, and they were burnt with fire.
੧੨ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਥੇ ਛੱਡ ਗਏ, ਤਾਂ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾੜਨ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
13 And the Philistines [came] once again, and spread themselves out in the valley.
੧੩ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀ ਫੇਰ ਮੁੜ ਆਏ ਅਤੇ ਫੇਰ ਉਸੇ ਘਾਟੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਮਲਾ ਕੀਤਾ,
14 And David asked again counsel of God; and God said unto him, Thou shalt not go up after them: turn about from them, and come upon them opposite the mulberry-trees,
੧੪ਤਾਂ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਤੂੰ ਹੁਣ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਿੱਛਾ ਨਾ ਕਰ, ਸਗੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਹਟ ਜਾ ਅਤੇ ਤੂਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਰੁੱਖਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਹਮਲਾ ਕਰ,
15 And it shall be, when thou hearest the sound of walking on the tops of the mulberry-trees, that then thou shalt go out to battle; for God will be gone forth before thee to smite the camp of the Philistines.
੧੫ਅਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਤੂੰ ਤੂਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਰੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਉੱਪਰਲੀਆਂ ਟਾਹਣੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੁਰਨ ਦੀ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਸੁਣੇਂ, ਤਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਯੁੱਧ ਕਰਨ ਨੂੰ ਨਿੱਕਲ ਜਾ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਤੇਰੇ ਅੱਗੇ-ਅੱਗੇ ਤੁਰ ਕੇ ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੈਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਨ ਲਈ ਨਿੱਕਲਿਆ ਹੈ।”
16 And David did as God had commanded him; and they smote the camp of the Philistines from Gib'on as far as Gezer.
੧੬ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਆਗਿਆ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਹੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਦਲ ਨੂੰ ਗਿਬਓਨ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਗਜ਼ਰ ਤੱਕ ਮਾਰ-ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਦਾ ਗਿਆ।
17 And the fame of David went out into all the lands; and the Lord laid the dread of him upon all the nations.
੧੭ਤਾਂ ਦਾਊਦ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਦੇਸਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਫੈਲ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਡਰ ਪਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
