Sophonias 3
1 This is the scornful city that dwells securely, that says in her heart, I am, and there is no longer any [to be] after me: how is she become desolate, a habitation of wild beasts! every one that passes through her shall hiss, and shake his hands. Alas the glorious and ransomed city.
उस सरकश और नापाक व ज़ालिम शहर पर अफ़सोस!
2 The dove listened not to the voice; she received not correction; she trusted not in the Lord, and she drew not near to her God.
उसने कलाम को न सुना, वह तरबियत पज़ीर न हुआ। उसने ख़ुदावन्द पर भरोसा न किया, और अपने ख़ुदा की क़ुरबत क़ी आरज़ू न की।
3 Her princes within her were as roaring lions, her judges as the wolves of Arabia; they remained not till the morrow.
उसके उमरा उसमें गरजने वाले बबर हैं; उसके क़ाज़ी भेड़िये हैं जो शाम को निकलते हैं, और सुबह तक कुछ नहीं छोड़ते।
4 Her prophets are light [and] scornful men: her priests profane the holy things, and sinfully transgress the law.
उसके नबी लाफ़ज़न और दग़ाबाज़ हैं, उसके काहिनों ने पाक को नापाक ठहराया, और उन्होंने शरी'अत को मरोड़ा है।
5 But the just Lord is in the midst of her, and he will never do an unjust thing: morning by morning he will bring out his judgment to the light, and it is not hidden, and he knows not injustice by extortion, nor injustice in strife.
ख़ुदावन्द जो सच्चा है, उसके अंदर है; वह बेइन्साफ़ी न करेगा; वह हर सुबह बिला नाग़ा अपनी 'अदालत ज़ाहिर करता है, मगर बेइन्साफ़ आदमी शर्म को नहीं जानता।
6 I have brought down the proud with destruction; their corners are destroyed: I will make their ways completely waste, so that none shall go through: their cities are come to an end, by reason of no man living or dwelling [in them].
मैंने क़ौमों को काट डाला, उनके बुर्ज बर्बाद किए गए; मैंने उनके कूचों को वीरान किया, यहाँ तक कि उनमें कोई नहीं चलता; उनके शहर उजाड़ हुए और उनमें कोई इंसान नहीं कोई बाशिन्दा नहीं।
7 I said, But do you fear me, and receive instruction, and you shall not be cut off from the face of the land [for] all the vengeance I have brought upon her: prepare you, rise early: all their produce is spoilt.
मैंने कहा, 'कि सिर्फ़ मुझ से डर, और तरबियत पज़ीर हो; ताकि उसकी बस्ती काटी न जाए। उस सब के मुताबिक़ जो मैंने उसके हक़ में ठहराया था। लेकिन उन्होंने 'अमदन अपनी चाल को बिगाड़ा।
8 Therefore wait upon me, says the Lord, until the day when I rise up for a witness: because my judgment [shall be] on the gatherings of the nations, to draw to me kings, to pour out upon them all [my] fierce anger: for the whole earth shall be consumed with the fire of my jealousy.
“इसलिए, ख़ुदावन्द फ़रमाता है, मेरे मुन्तज़िर रहो, जब तक कि मैं लूट के लिए न उठूँ, क्यूँकि मैंने ठान लिया है कि क़ौमों को जमा' करूँ और ममलुकतों को इकट्ठा करूँ, ताकि अपने ग़ज़ब या'नी तमाम क़हर को उन पर नाज़िल करूँ, क्यूँकि मेरी गै़रत की आग सारी ज़मीन को खा जाएगी।
9 For then will I turn to the peoples a tongue for her generation, that all may call on the name of the Lord, to serve him under one yoke.
और मैं उस वक़्त लोगों के होंट पाक कर दूँगा, ताकि वह सब ख़ुदावन्द से दुआ करें, और एक दिल होकर उसकी इबादत करें।
10 From the boundaries of the rivers of Ethiopia will I receive my dispersed ones; they shall offer sacrifices to me.
कूश की नहरों के पार से मेरे 'आबिद, या'नी मेरी बिखरी क़ौम मेरे लिए हदिया लाएगी
11 In that day you shall not be ashamed of all your practices, wherein you have transgressed against me: for then will I take away from you your disdainful pride, and you shall no more magnify yourself upon my holy mountain.
उसी रोज़ तू अपने सब आ'माल की वजह से जिनसे तू मेरी गुनहगार हुई, शर्मिन्दा न होगी: क्यूँकि मैं उस वक़्त तेरे बीच से तेरे मग़रूर लोगों को निकाल दूँगा, और फिर तू मेरे मुक़द्दस पहाड़ पर तकब्बुर न करेगी।
12 And I will leave in you a meek and lowly people;
और मैं तुझ में एक मज़लूम और मिस्कीन बक़िया छोड़ दूँगा और वह ख़ुदावन्द के नाम पर भरोसा करेंगे,
13 and the remnant of Israel shall fear the name of the Lord, and shall do no iniquity, neither shall they speak vanity; neither shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth: for they shall feed, and lie down, and there shall be none to terrify them.
इस्राईल के बाक़ी लोग न गुनाह करेंगे, न झूट बोलेंगे और न उनके मुँह में दग़ा की बातें पाई जाएँगी बल्कि वह खाएँगे और लेट रहेंगे, और कोई उनको न डराएगा।”
14 Rejoice, O daughter of Sion; cry aloud, O daughter of Jerusalem; rejoice and delight yourself with all your heart, O daughter of Jerusalem.
ऐ बिन्त — ए — सिय्यून, नग़मा सराई कर; ऐ इस्राईल, ललकार! ऐ दुख़्तर — ए — येरूशलेम, पूरे दिल से ख़ुशी मना और शादमान हो।
15 The Lord has taken away your iniquities, he has ransomed you from the hand of your enemies: the Lord, the King of Israel, is in the midst of you: you shall not see evil any more.
ख़ुदावन्द ने तेरी सज़ा को दूर कर दिया, उसने तेरे दुश्मनों को निकाल दिया ख़ुदावन्द इस्राईल का बादशाह तेरे अन्दर है तू फिर मुसीबत को न देखेगी।
16 At that time the Lord shall say to Jerusalem, Be of good courage, Sion; let not your hands be slack.
उस रोज़ येरूशलेम से कहा जाएगा, परेशान न हो, ऐ सिय्यून; तेरे हाथ ढीले न हों।
17 The Lord your God is in you; the Mighty One shall save you: he shall bring joy upon you, and shall refresh you with his love; and he shall rejoice over you with delight as in a day of feasting.
ख़ुदावन्द तेरा ख़ुदा, जो तुझ में है, क़ादिर है, वही बचा लेगा; वह तेरी वजह से शादमान होकर खु़शी करेगा; वह अपनी मुहब्बत में मसरूर रहेगा; वह गाते हुए तेरे लिए शादमानी करेगा।
18 And I will gather your afflicted ones. Alas! who has taken up a reproach against her?
“मैं तेरे उन लोगों को जो 'ईदों से महरूम होने की वजह से ग़मगीन और मलामत से ज़ेरबार हैं, जमा' करूँगा।
19 Behold, I [will] work in you for your sake at that time, says the Lord: and I will save her that was oppressed, and receive her that was rejected; and I will make them a praise, and honored in all the earth.
देख, मैं उस वक़्त तेरे सब सतानेवालों को सज़ा दूँगा, और लंगड़ों को रिहाई दूँगा; और जो हाँक दिए गए उनको इकट्ठा करूँगा और जो तमाम जहान में रुस्वा हुए, उनको सितूदा और नामवर करूँगा।
20 And [their enemies] shall be ashamed at that time, when I shall deal well with you, and at the time when I shall receive you: for I will make you honored and a praise among all the nations of the earth, when I turn back your captivity before you, says the Lord.
उस वक़्त मैं तुम को जमा' करके मुल्क में लाऊँगा; क्यूँकि जब तुम्हारी हीन हयात ही में तुम्हारी ग़ुलामी को ख़त्म करूँगा, तो तुम को ज़मीन की सब क़ौमों के बीच नामवर और सितूदा करूँगा।” ख़ुदावन्द फ़रमाता है।
