Zacharias 8
1 And the word of the Lord Almighty came, saying,
Depois veiu a mim a palavra do Senhor dos Exercitos, dizendo:
2 Thus says the Lord Almighty; I have been jealous for Jerusalem and for Sion with great jealousy, and I have been jealous for her with great fury.
Assim diz o Senhor dos Exercitos: Zelei por Sião com grande zelo, e com grande furor zelei por ella.
3 Thus says the Lord; I will return to Sion, and dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and Jerusalem shall be called a true city, and the mountain of the Lord Almighty a holy mountain.
Assim diz o Senhor: Voltarei para Sião, e habitarei no meio de Jerusalem; e Jerusalem chamar-se-ha a cidade de verdade, e o monte do Senhor dos Exercitos monte de sanctidade.
4 Thus says the Lord Almighty; There shall yet dwell old men and old women in the streets of Jerusalem, every one holding his staff in his hand for age.
Assim diz o Senhor dos Exercitos: Ainda nas praças de Jerusalem habitarão velhos e velhas; e cada um terá na sua mão o seu bordão, por causa da sua muita edade.
5 And the broad places of the city shall be filled with boys and girls playing in the streets thereof.
E as ruas da cidade serão cheias de meninos e meninas, que brincarão nas ruas d'ella.
6 Thus says the Lord Almighty; If it shall be impossible in the sight of the remnant of this people in those days, shall it also be impossible in my sight? says the Lord Almighty.
Assim diz o Senhor dos Exercitos: Se isto será maravilhoso aos olhos do resto d'este povo n'aquelles dias, sel-o-ha por isso tambem maravilhoso aos meus olhos? disse o Senhor dos Exercitos.
7 Thus says the Lord Almighty; Behold, I [will] save my people from the east country, and the west country;
Assim diz o Senhor dos Exercitos: Eis que salvarei o meu povo da terra do oriente e da terra do pôr do sol;
8 and I will bring them in, and cause [them] to dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and they shall be to me a people, and I will be to them a God, in truth and in righteousness.
E tral-os-hei, e habitarão no meio de Jerusalem; e me serão por povo, e eu lhes serei a elles por Deus em verdade e em justiça.
9 Thus says the Lord Almighty; Let your hands be strong, [you that] hear in these days these words out of the mouth of the prophets, from the day that the house of the Lord Almighty was founded, and from the time that the temple was built.
Assim diz o Senhor dos Exercitos: Esforcem-se as vossas mãos, ó vós que n'estes dias ouvistes estas palavras da bocca dos prophetas que estiveram no dia em que foi posto o fundamento da casa do Senhor dos Exercitos, para que o templo fosse edificado.
10 For before those days the wages of men could not be profitable, and there could be no hire of cattle, and there could be no peace by reason of the affliction to him that went out or to him that came in: for I would have let loose all men, every one against his neighbor.
Porque antes d'estes dias não tem havido soldada de homens, nem soldada de bestas; nem havia paz para o que entrava nem para o que sahia, por causa do inimigo, porque eu incitei a todos os homens, cada um contra o seu companheiro.
11 But now I [will] not do to the remnant of this people according to the former days, says the Lord Almighty.
Mas agora não me haverei eu para com o resto d'este povo como nos primeiros dias, diz o Senhor dos Exercitos.
12 But I will show peace: the vine shall yield her fruit, and the land shall yield her produce, and the heaven shall give its dew: and I will give as an inheritance all these things to the remnant of my people.
Porque a semente será prospera, a vide dará o seu fructo, e a terra dará a sua novidade, e os céus darão o seu orvalho; e farei que o resto d'este povo herde tudo isto
13 And it shall come to pass, as you were a curse among the nations, O house of Juda, and house of Israel; so will I save you, and you shall be a blessing: be of good courage, and strengthen your hands.
E ha de ser, ó casa de Judah, e ó casa de Israel, que, assim como fostes uma maldição entre as nações, assim vos salvarei, e sereis uma benção: não temaes, esforcem-se as vossas mãos.
14 For thus says the Lord Almighty; As I took counsel to afflict you when your fathers provoked me, says the Lord Almighty, and I repented not:
Porque assim diz o Senhor dos Exercitos: Assim como pensei fazer-vos mal, quando vossos paes me provocaram á ira, diz o Senhor dos Exercitos, e não me arrependi,
15 so have I prepared and taken counsel in these days to do good to Jerusalem and to the house of Juda: be you of good courage.
Assim tornei a pensar de fazer bem a Jerusalem e á casa de Judah, n'estes dias: não temaes.
16 These [are] the things which you shall do; speak truth every one with his neighbor; judge truth and peaceful judgment in your gates:
Estas são as coisas que fareis: Fallae verdade cada um com o seu companheiro; julgae verdade e juizo de paz nas vossas portas.
17 and let none of you devise evil in his heart against his neighbor; and love not a false oath: for all these things I hate, says the Lord Almighty.
E nenhum de vós pense mal no seu coração contra o seu companheiro, nem ameis o juramento falso; porque todas estas coisas são as que eu aborreço, diz o Senhor.
18 And the word of the Lord Almighty came to me, saying,
E a palavra do Senhor dos Exercitos veiu a mim, dizendo:
19 Thus says the Lord Almighty, The fourth fast, and the fifth fast, and the seventh fast, and the tenth fast, shall be to the house of Juda for joy and gladness, and for good feasts; and you shall rejoice; and love you the truth and peace.
Assim diz o Senhor dos Exercitos: O jejum do quarto, e o jejum do quinto, e o jejum do setimo, e o jejum do decimo mez se tornará para a casa de Judah em gozo, e em alegria, e em festividades solemnes: amae pois a verdade e a paz.
20 Thus says the Lord Almighty; Yet shall many peoples come, and the inhabitants of many cities;
Assim diz o Senhor dos Exercitos: Ainda succederá que virão os povos e os habitantes de muitas cidades.
21 and the inhabitants of five cities shall come together to one city, saying, Let us go to make supplication to the Lord, and to seek the face of the Lord Almighty; I will go also.
E os habitantes de uma irão á outra, dizendo: Vamos andando para supplicar a face do Senhor, e para buscar ao Senhor dos Exercitos; eu tambem irei.
22 And many peoples and many nations shall come to seek earnestly the face of the Lord Almighty in Jerusalem, and to obtain favor of the Lord.
Assim virão muitos povos e poderosas nações, a buscar em Jerusalem ao Senhor dos Exercitos, e a supplicar a face do Senhor.
23 Thus says the Lord Almighty; In those days [my word shall be fulfilled] if ten men of all the languages of the nations should take hold—even take hold of the hem of a Jew, saying, We will go with you; for we have heard that God is with you.
Assim diz o Senhor dos Exercitos: N'aquelle dia succederá que pegarão dez homens de entre todas as linguas das nações, pegarão, digo, da aba de um homem judaico, dizendo: Iremos comvosco, porque temos ouvido que Deus está comvosco.
