< Psalms 99 >

1 A Psalm of David. The Lord reigns; —let the people rage; [it is he] that sits upon the cherubs, let the earth be moved.
The LORD reigneth, let the nations tremble! He sitteth between the cherubs, let the earth quake!
2 The Lord is great in Sion, and is high over all the people.
Great is the LORD upon Zion; He is exalted over all the nations.
3 Let them give thanks to your great name; for it is terrible and holy.
Let men praise thy great and terrible name! It is holy.
4 And the king's honor loves judgment; you have prepared equity, you have wrought judgment and justice in Jacob.
Let them declare the glory of the King who loveth justice! Thou hast established equity; Thou dost execute justice in Jacob!
5 Exalt you the Lord our God, and worship [at] his footstool; for he is holy.
Exalt ye Jehovah, our God, And bow yourselves down at his footstool! He is holy.
6 Moses and Aaron among his priests, and Samuel among them that call upon his name; they called upon the Lord, and he heard them.
Moses and Aaron, with his priests, And Samuel, who called upon his name, —They called upon the LORD, and he answered them.
7 He spoke to them in a pillar of cloud; they kept his testimonies, and the ordinances which he gave them.
He spake to them in the cloudy pillar; They kept his commandments, And the ordinances which he gave them.
8 O Lord our God, you heard them; O God, you became propitious to them, though you did take vengeance on all their devices.
Thou, O LORD, our God! didst answer them; Thou wast to them a forgiving God, Though thou didst punish their transgressions!
9 Exalt you the Lord our God, and worship at his holy mountain; for the Lord our God is holy.
Exalt the LORD, our God. And worship at his holy mountain! For the LORD, our God, is holy.
