< Psalms 90 >
1 A Prayer of Moses the man of God. Lord, you have been our refuge in all generations.
Ko e Lotu ʻa Mōsese ko e tangata ʻoe ʻOtua. ʻE Sihova, ko koe ko homau hūfanga ʻi he toʻutangata kotoa pē.
2 Before the mountains existed, and [before] the earth and the world were formed, even from age to age, You are.
ʻI he teʻeki ai fakatupu ʻae ngaahi moʻunga, pea teʻeki ai te ke ngaohi ʻae fonua mo māmani, ʻio, talu mei muʻa ʻo aʻu ʻo taʻengata, ko koe pe ko e ʻOtua.
3 Turn not man back to [his] low place, whereas you said, Return, you sons of men?
ʻOku ke liliu ʻae tangata ke ʻauha; pea ke pehē, “Tafoki, ʻakimoutolu ʻae fānau ʻae tangata.”
4 For a thousand years in your sight are as the yesterday which is past, and as a watch in the night.
He ʻoku tatau ʻi ho ʻao ʻae taʻu ʻe afe mo e ʻaneafi ʻi hono hili ange ia, pea mo e leʻo ʻi he pō.
5 Years shall be vanity to them: let the morning pass away as grass.
ʻOku ke ʻave ʻakinautolu ʻo hangē ko e ʻave ʻe he vaitafe; ʻoku nau hangē ko e mohe: ʻi he pongipongi ʻoku nau tatau mo e mohuku ʻoku tupu hake.
6 In the morning let it flower, and pass away: in the evening let it droop, let it be withered and dried up.
ʻI he pongipongi ʻoku lau maʻuiʻui ia, pea tupu hake: ʻi he efiafi ʻoku tuʻusi hifo ia, pea mae.
7 For we have perished in your anger, and in your wrath we have been troubled.
He ʻoku mau ʻauha ʻi ho houhau, pea ʻoku mau mamahi ʻi ho tuputāmaki.
8 You have set our transgressions before you: our age is in the light of your countenance.
Kuo ke tuku ʻemau ngaahi hia ʻi ho ʻao, pea mo ʻemau ngaahi angahala fufū ʻi he maama ʻo ho fofonga.
9 For all our days are gone, and we have passed away in your wrath: our years have spun out their tale as a spider.
He ʻoku ʻosi atu homau ngaahi ʻaho kotoa pē ʻi ho houhau: ʻoku mau fakaʻosi homau ngaahi taʻu ʻo hangē ko e talanoa ʻoku lau.
10 [As for] the days of our years, in them are seventy years; and if [men should be] in strength, eighty years: and the greater part of them would be labor and trouble; for weakness overtakes us, and we shall be chastened.
Ko e ngaahi ʻaho ʻo homau taʻu ko e taʻu ʻe fitungofulu; pea kapau ʻe hoko ia ʻi hono mālohi ke valungofulu, ko hono mālohi ko e ngāue mo e mamahi; he ʻoku tuʻusi vave ia, pea ʻoku mau puna atu.
11 Who knows the power of your wrath?
Ko hai ʻoku ne ʻiloʻi ʻae mālohi ʻo ho houhau? ʻO hangē ko ho manavahēʻia, ʻoku pehē ho houhau.
12 and [who knows how] to number [his days] because of the fear of your wrath? So manifest your right hand, and those that are instructed in wisdom in the heart.
Ke pehē hoʻo akonakiʻi ʻakimautolu ke mau lau homau ngaahi ʻaho, koeʻuhi ke mau fakatokangaʻi homau loto ki he poto.
13 Return, O Lord, how long? and be entreated concerning your servants.
Tafoki, ʻE Sihova, ʻe fēfē hono fuoloa? Pea ke lolou koeʻuhi ko hoʻo kau tamaioʻeiki.
14 We have been satisfied in the morning with your mercy; and we did exult and rejoice:
Ke ke fakamākona vave ʻakimautolu ʻaki hoʻo ʻaloʻofa; koeʻuhi ke mau fiefia mo nekeneka ʻi homau ʻaho fulipē.
15 let us rejoice in all our days, in return for the days wherein you did afflict us, the years wherein we saw evil.
Ke ke fakafiefiaʻi ʻakimautolu ʻo fakatatau ki he ngaahi ʻaho ne ke fakamamahiʻi ai ʻakimautolu, pea mo e ngaahi taʻu kuo mau mamata ai ki he kovi.
16 And look upon your servants, and upon your works; and guide their children.
Pea ke tuku ke hā ki hoʻo kau tamaioʻeiki ʻa hoʻo ngāue, pea mo ho nāunau ki heʻenau fānau.
17 And let the brightness of the Lord our God be upon us: and do you direct for us the works of our hands.
Pea ke ʻiate kimautolu ʻae lelei ʻo Sihova ko homau ʻOtua: pea ke fokotuʻu ke maʻu ʻae ngāue ʻa homau nima kiate kimautolu; ʻio, ko e ngāue ʻa homau nima ke fakamaau ia.
