Psalms 90
1 A Prayer of Moses the man of God. Lord, you have been our refuge in all generations.
Bwana, wewe umekuwa kimbilio letu vizazi vyote.
2 Before the mountains existed, and [before] the earth and the world were formed, even from age to age, You are.
Kabla milima haijaumbwa, wala haujaumba nchi na dunia, tangu milele na milele, wewe ni Mungu.
3 Turn not man back to [his] low place, whereas you said, Return, you sons of men?
Humrudisha mtu mavumbini, na kusema, “Rudi, ewe uzao wa mwanadmu.
4 For a thousand years in your sight are as the yesterday which is past, and as a watch in the night.
Kwa maana miaka elfu machoni pako ni kama jana ipitapo, na kama saa wakati wa usiku.
5 Years shall be vanity to them: let the morning pass away as grass.
Huwafagia kama vile kwa mafuliko nao hulala; na wakati wa asubuhi wako kama majani yameayo.
6 In the morning let it flower, and pass away: in the evening let it droop, let it be withered and dried up.
Asubuhi yachipuka na kumea; jioni yakatika na kukauka.
7 For we have perished in your anger, and in your wrath we have been troubled.
Hakika, tumeangamizwa kwa hasira yako, na gadhabu yako inatuogopesha sana.
8 You have set our transgressions before you: our age is in the light of your countenance.
Umeudhihirisha uovu wetu mbele zako, na dhambi zetu zilizofichika katika nuru ya uwepo wako.
9 For all our days are gone, and we have passed away in your wrath: our years have spun out their tale as a spider.
Uhai wetu unatoweka chini ya gadhabu yako; Miaka yetu inapita haraka kama pumzi.
10 [As for] the days of our years, in them are seventy years; and if [men should be] in strength, eighty years: and the greater part of them would be labor and trouble; for weakness overtakes us, and we shall be chastened.
Miaka yetu ni sabini, au themanini tukiwa na afya; lakini hata hivyo miaka yetu mizuri imetiwa alama ya taabu na huzuni. Ndiyo, inapita haraka, kisha tunatoweka.
11 Who knows the power of your wrath?
Ni nani ajuaye kiwango cha hasira yako, na ghadhabu yako ambayo iko sawa na hofu yako?
12 and [who knows how] to number [his days] because of the fear of your wrath? So manifest your right hand, and those that are instructed in wisdom in the heart.
Hivyo utufundishe sisi kuyafikiria maisha yetu ili kwamba tuweze kuishi kwa hekima.
13 Return, O Lord, how long? and be entreated concerning your servants.
Ugeuke, Ee Yahwe! Mpaka lini itakuwa hivi? Uwahurumie watumishi wako.
14 We have been satisfied in the morning with your mercy; and we did exult and rejoice:
Ututosheleze sisi wakati wa asubuhi kwa uaminifu wa agano lako ili kwamba tuweze kufurahi na kushangilia siku zote za maisha yetu.
15 let us rejoice in all our days, in return for the days wherein you did afflict us, the years wherein we saw evil.
Utufurahishe kwa uwiano sawa na zile siku ulizo tutesa na kwa ile miaka tuliyopitia taabu.
16 And look upon your servants, and upon your works; and guide their children.
Watumishi wako na waione kazi yako, na watoto wetu wauone ukuu enzi yako.
17 And let the brightness of the Lord our God be upon us: and do you direct for us the works of our hands.
Na neema ya Bwana Mungu wetu iwe yetu; fanikisha kazi za mikono yetu; hakika, fanikisha kazi ya mikono yetu.
