Psalms 85
1 For the end, a Psalm for the sons of Core. O Lord, you has taken pleasure in your land: you have turned back the captivity of Jacob.
Dem Gesangmeister für die Söhne Korachs. Ein Psalm. Du hattest Wohlgefallen an Deinem Land, Jehovah, hattest Jakobs Gefangenschaft zurückgewendet,
2 You have forgiven your people their transgressions; you has covered all their sins. (Pause)
Verziehen Deines Volkes Missetat, bedeckt alle ihre Sünden. (Selah)
3 You has caused all your wrath to cease: you have turned from your fierce anger.
All Dein Wüten weggerafft, von Deines Zornes Glut Dich zurückgewendet.
4 Turn us, O God of our salvation, and turn your anger away from us.
Bringe uns zurück, Gott unseres Heils, und brich ab Deinen Unmut gegen uns.
5 Wouldest you be angry with us for ever? or will you continue your wrath from generation to generation?
Willst Du ewiglich wider uns zürnen, Deinen Zorn fortdauern lassen auf Geschlecht und Geschlecht?
6 O God, you will turn and quicken us; and your people shall rejoice in you.
Willst Du nicht zurückkehren, uns beleben, auf daß Dein Volk fröhlich sei in Dir?
7 Show us your mercy, O Lord, and grant us your salvation.
Lasse uns sehen, Jehovah, Deine Barmherzigkeit und gib uns Dein Heil!
8 I will hear what the Lord God will say concerning me: for he shall speak peace to his people, and to his saints, and to those that turn their heart toward him.
Ich will hören, was der Gott Jehovah redet; denn Er redet Frieden zu Seinem Volk und zu Seinen Heiligen. Aber sie sollen sich nicht wieder zur Narrheit kehren!
9 Moreover his salvation is near them that fear him; that glory may dwell in our land.
Nahe ist ja denen, die Ihn fürchten, Sein Heil, daß Herrlichkeit in unserem Lande wohne.
10 Mercy and truth are met together: righteousness and peace have kissed [each other].
Es sollen Barmherzigkeit und Wahrheit sich treffen, sich küssen Gerechtigkeit und Frieden!
11 Truth has sprung out of the earth; and righteousness has looked down from heaven.
Wahrheit soll aus der Erde sprossen, und Gerechtigkeit vom Himmel schauen.
12 For the Lord will give goodness; and our land shall yield her fruit.
Auch wird Jehovah das Gute geben, und unser Land wird geben sein Gewächs.
13 Righteousness shall go before him; and shall set his steps in the way.
Gerechtigkeit geht vor Ihm her, und setzt ihre Tritte auf den Weg.
